Title: shahzadafzal account now belongs to a scammer
Post by: Charles-Tim on March 31, 2021, 09:23:41 PM
shahzadafzal (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1634314) account is not trustworthy again, he created a scam topic (https://archive.is/qILCp) to steal private key from people that will fall his victim. He also commenting private key can be verified, can be expired all to steal users coins.

Please give trust feedback as appropriate.
You can also support the flag (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2686) created against this account

Please, disregard this. Said to be April fool.

This is strange! I saw this user on WO and having discussions but suddenly seeing a post like this is surprising. It does not seem the account change hand soon too. Trust page has not recent password and email change information.

Very weird, given the fact that the account has been actively posting in different threads today as usual and then all of a sudden the last post is asking for private key from people.

I hope it was not an April 1st Fool's day prank gone wrong  ;D

In south Asia (he seems from Pakistan)it's past midnight which means it's 1st April already. I really hope this is an April fool and it gone wrong.

That should be the best question to ask right now becasue this whole thing seem weird to me too, considering his profile and posts made. Such account should have understand what it means to ask members to disclose private key publicly, i hope it's April-Fool, even at that still look very strange for my liken.

What is keys verification service?
Is there is thing called keys verification? Does private keys really expire??

NOT YOUR KEYS... NOT YOUR COINS!!!

You guys don’t read any post that for sure... just read the Subject and jump to conclusions.

Yes it was an April Fool joke but any way too late I guess.

I’m sorry everyone didn’t mean to steel your keys.

I did mention in my post in small font ....

Mods: This is just a harmless April fool joke (I promise it will be harmless), please go easy on this. If it does not belong here feel free to move it anywhere.

May be it was a bad taste April fool joke.

@shahzadafzal, good thing it was April fool, but the very bad thing is there was a chance scam. Even your intention wasn't to scam anyone, but what happens if someone posts their private key there. I know it was a self-moderated thread, but what if you become inactive and late to delete the post with private keys? There are many newbies who don't know they shouldn't post private keys publicly, so it was definitely harmful.

However, very good thing the thread has been trashed by the moderator I think. And we shouldn't make this kind of April joke where the risk of losing funds. So, I will suggest to shahzadafzal, please don't make this joke in the future and you should apologies for that to the community.

 ;D ;D ;D

I know this guy is pretty much active in WO, but I was shocked saw him in this reputation thread. In the past, many trusted account has been hacked/sold/changed hand to a scammer... this is why your joke can't be accepted (i.e. ponzi, recover bitcoin, etc)

But I'm glad you didn't do plagiarism as a joke :D it could make your account in trouble.

Yeah i understand now... it's a bit sensitive... and we do have people who think... keys need to be verified and keys can expire... yes not joke.

So I accept my mistake... i did try to find some better place to post it so people won't fall even unknowingly...

A quick question if I want to post a topic on April Fool as a joke? What you guys think which section is more suitable? Off-topic or speculation or any other?

what happens if someone posts their private key there.
That's like the first rule of Bitcoin. You break it, you lose it.

Lol, here is also April fools. But I don't think it was wise idea to make people fool by doing prank since it surely harm someone. It's normal when theymos do these type of prank. But for a member like us we should do that. Do something where people have not any chance to lose any money or private data. And enjoy ...........

If someone is too childish to post their private key which has balance or has plan to use the address in the future then they do not deserve bitcoin. Let them be lol

Well honestly speaking you got us which was your goal of course. It was obvious that someone would notice it that it was april fool. I was dumb until JeromeTash posted it. Trust me I was evern working on tagging you 😅

Charles-Tim, you may chance to title since it's no longer a joke now.

Some people do not just know much about what private key his, only when their Bitcoin has been lost will they remember they have been fooled, although that is being a fool truly. Some ways wallet generate seed phrase and private may not include such warning like 'revealing the seed phrase or private key to anyone can be used to steal the whole Bitcoin the seed or private key control from the owner', this kind of information might make the foolish newbies to avoid such scam. But, you are not wrong, anyone that reveal his/her seed phrase are not worthy to have Bitcoin.

damn it is indeed a prank gone bad.  it's just not the kind of a joke that we'd laugh at when there are private keys that will be publicized. there are still newbies out there. one of them even copy-pastes his private key upon joining a bounty campaign.

the one that i was very amazed at was Brainboss Vacsino campaign. it's harmless but it's an example that some users aren't understanding what they read and will just post whatever is asked.

This is further proof that bounty hunters do not see anything on the forum, except for their bounty programs. They do not read forum rules, do not read company rules. They don't care if they are participating in a scam or in a non-existent company. These people, who registered at Vacsino yesterday, will participate everywhere, and then they will complain that they were deceived.
Therefore, all warnings to newbies sometimes become useless if they do not even occasionally start reading something other than the awards companies.

Exactly... that's what i thought of course I tried my best let no body try to send me any private that's why i keep i self moderated so i can delete the posts but of course if some post even if I delete with minutes there chance someone can copy it.

I started with big banner "NOT YOUR KEYS NOT YOUR COINS"... but still it was too sensitive to ask people for their private keys.. so that's why I'm ok with  "Charles-Tim" claim :)

Hahaha tagging (Trust) is a fun game bitcointalk people love the most after merit (s) [put this s on the end or start and it still valid], if you start reading trust page you will laugh out of course 90% of the time it works but about 10% is just a blame game people blame each other and shocking to see many senior accounts are tagged with -ve trusts. I guess that's why trust is visible only certain board.

Charles-Tim, you may chance to title since it's no longer a joke now.
i guess you mean change the title... well it's up to Charles-Tim like i said i'm still ok with it.

Yes when you start with bitcoin there is always some risks involved, risk of loosing funds, risk of being scammed and its not much different then any other online platform. Let it be your bank account or social media account or your bitcoin wallet.

We should understand sensitive information is not to be shared with any one... still every other day people loose their online account or bank funds through "otp" scam or similar. So again people are so naïve, they wont pay attention and may be they will post their private keys too.

Yes I saw this too [April fool] Vacsino media Bounty campaign || Budget $100,000 in stablecoin || (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5327679.0) and it's funny to see Full Member and Sr. Members level accounts tried to join the bounty, even when all the links in the post point to April Fool. So there is chance some user will start posting their Private Keys too :p

You are right... they will go and find a new bounty and will not read OP and copy paste whatever is asked in rules. One thing i can learn form it I should not have asked for Bitcoin Keys may be any fake coin like
CryptopreneurBrainboss mentioned "Budget $100,000 in BTCT stablecoin (1 month)" ...  BTCT it could have worked.

Ouch! Too late to entertain myself :-P
Bitcoin Key Verification Service - it already sounds a joke. Can't say how I would react if I would discover it before revealing everything on this topic. I read the archived copy, and it was pretty much confusing.

At the beginning he was saying "Not Your Keys Not Your Coins" and after reading this if anyone would post their private key then they were definitely marked as bounty hunters :-P

Does anyone care about bounty hunters? :-D
