That's proof of capacity algorithm, they aren't a thing anymore so just move on

We are in another best crypto season again, how many people are you seeing mining and hailing burstcoinor or other PoC coins for how profitable they are? It's a long forgotten algorithm that isn't profitable

You can mine on hard drives, but now the hardware requirements have changed.
You need to buy very expensive and high-speed equipment.
For example, mining Filecoin

This project makes services for decentralized data storage.

I've checked out filecoin but the hware requirements are terribly high. Im thinkin on storj, it seems more wallet-friendly. Is it worth minig?https://www.storj.io/ (https://www.storj.io/)

If you already have the hardware, then why not give it a try. The price of Filecoin has risen well, which means this may affect the price of competitors' coins.
I myself have not mined on hard drives, and I consider this mining a risky investment, because the amount of disk space is growing very quickly.
Video cards do not lose their relevance so much.

Make sure you do your own research very, I was so obsessed with HDD mining in the past because they are less energy consuming than gpu and asics but it's not worth it because you will be spending more money on terabytes of spaces

Chia is proof of capacity project from the founder of Bittorent. The mainnet just launched after years in development. Looks like a well developed project with good leadership.

Yes if you have many terabytes space available but mind you HDD aren't reliable too, they can die fast since you will be using them everyday, I don't see anyone still using this to make money in crypto space today

If you can find a new Proof of Capacity coin then quickly start mining with HDD before the difficultly rises, this is the only way to avoid using enormous amount of terabytes space

First I thought it was an April fools day joke and skipped this topic. I thought this topic will die soon or be moved to archive. But I see an activity here. That made me google "HDD mining" and I have found a lot about it...

Do I understand it correct - HDD mining is the most unprofitable way to earn compared to CPU and GPU mining? That is why it is so unpopular. And because HDD parts wears off faster than GPU.

P.S. Do people mine on audio cards? :)
