If you're referring to Bitcoin gold, cash, etc. then these are not related to bitcoin, they're just forks (https://www.thebalance.com/what-is-a-bitcoin-fork-4684459#:~:text=Bitcoin%20forks%20are%20splits%20that,operates%20without%20a%20central%20authority.).

This is the original bitcoin that you should buy: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

Go to the markets tab from the link above, and look for BTC/USD (or whatever your currency is) and then choose an exchange. To mention a few reputable ones: Coinbase, Coinmama, Kraken and BitPanda.

In the previous post everything was said correctly, that Bitcoin is the only one. Perhaps you are confused because you have not yet figured out what cryptocurrency is. With this tool (https://cryptogeek.info/en/compare), you can compare the cryptocurrency exchanges where Bitcoin is sold and choose the most suitable one for yourself. But before buying, I strongly recommend that you study what Bitcoin is.

You only buy BITCOIN with this symbol BTC with orange background on it. The other bitcoin's that you probably have seen are the bitcoin forks, you don't buy them like e.g Bitcoin Crush or any other names that are putting another name next to bitcoin just as Bitcoin + "another name". You don't buy them, only BITCOIN alone. The acronym is BTC = BITCOIN. No more, no less.

First of all, market has some forks of bitcoin which were done because of having different ideas to do and those are shitcoins for me and nothing else. So, just keep hodling bitcoin for long time and etherem can be good according to the major developments. Secondly, just use Coinmarketcap or coingecko to keep yourself updated with current market price or exchange volumes etc...

You also need to know how to secure Bitcoin.

I want to buy bitcoin for him, but which bitcoin should I buy?
There will always be a single Bitcoin which is also called BTC (that's it ticker) just make that's what you buy because there's a lot of shitcoin trying to convince newbies investors with their ticker name.

But Binance exchange is the current most active exchange in the market where Bitcoin is trading the most but if you're from the US Binance.us is the site you can use.

OP, you should go to this section first "Beginners and Help (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0)" in order to understand everything how Bitcoin works and the use of its wallet.

Just go straight to the sticky and read those guidelines.

And also, you shouldn't trust someone that you met on the internet for the first time. There are reputable exchanges that you can use to do the trading just like what the above listed exchanges. And to know which Bitcoin you like to choose, just go to this link https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/.

Well, stick on the name bitcoin or in a symbol of BTC and follow the market cap, [ https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/ ] never buy those forked with the bitcoin, it means they are copy cat from the network of bitcoin and they are not truly decentralized. For me, those forked to the bitcoin network are not worth it to invest, because, for me, it's perhaps high manipulated coin and that will never profitable in the future after the hype that occurred on that coin. However, buy on a legitimate exchange, not on just your friend especially online.

Bitcoin is the only one on top and if you’re talking about other project with a Bitcoin name I suggest not to invest on that and I don’t recommend it to newbies because its too risky to deal with them.

There’s a lot of things that you need to learn first, but Investing on Bitcoin itself allows you to earn profit while you are earning. Though the price is too high right now, maybe you can start learning on how to spot best time to buy any project in this market, this is not east but you have to do your best to learn everything.

Perhaps you are writing about what you just learned about the existence of cryptocurrencies? And the first most famous cryptocurrency will of course be bitcoin. Investing your savings in cryptocurrency is risky enough without a clear understanding of the process itself. There is no need to rush to invest. If you do not have a reliable assistant to help you with deposits, you risk losing your money without proper handling.
So take some friendly advice. Don't fuss. Stay on the forum, and read everything that is advised to you, try to delve into all the intricacies of deposits and storage. Only then take any steps towards investing.

Who do you want to buy Bitcoin for? I don't know if you have expressed yourself badly. In any case, you've been given good advice here, just remember that if you do end up buying, don't be fooled by Bitcoin Cash and all that crap. Buy only Bitcoin, the real one, the one that has no last name.

Good, now you also need to understand that there are various exchanges where you can exchange Bitcoins, and manual trades like Binance P2P can be used to buy Bitcoins. There are others but I am hesitant to share them because I only trust this one.

I want to buy bitcoin for him, but which bitcoin should I buy?
Are you buying for someone else? Him? By the way which Bitcoin .. I think you are confused between bitcoins and altcoins. There is only one Bitcoin with ticker of BTC while others are its successors. Make sure you don't buy a useless coin, be careful please.

Where best to follow the Bitcoin market. Can you write comments that might help me with these things?!  ??? ???
Like I said, use Binance because it is right now the easiest and safest exchange. You should also learn a little bit about what is Bitcoin and how altcoins work because one mistake might hand you some shit coins and you may lose faith in cryptos as a whole.

I want to buy bitcoin for him...
If this sentence means you want to buy Bitcoin for someone else, most prolly as a gift or something, I think at this moment you should not cause your knowledge of the network is still inadequate and I'm guessing the person you're planning to gift Bitcoin too is also a novice, if that be the case, you both will most probably lose the funds or the coin.

Thus having said that, before you buy BTC either for yourself or someone else, learn what being your own bank is all about, especially in areas of security, so if you purchase you'll safely store it, and if you buy for others, you'll be able to tell them a thing or two about the network so they can also avoid making costly mistakes.

Many forks and the list will be prolonged over the time. One of most terrible mistakes from newbies. Want to buy bitcoin but at the ends, they buy bitcoin forks or shit altcoins.

Another mistake is send their bitcoin to non-bitcoin addresses. Exchanges mostly don't support to retrieve your bitcoin. They hold your bitcoin private key, not you; therefore if they don't support, you will lose your bitcoin. In some exchanges, they give support but charge very expensive fee.

  • Sending BTC to BCH or whatever coins, vice versa. Don't do this, newbies ! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5218944.0)

Like others have already suggested you should make an account on a trusted exchange like binance and buy bitcoins but from what and how you have typed your problem, it still looks like you are not confident what bitcoin is and how it is different from other coins.

I don't know how good that tool is because I tried to compare binance and bleutrade and it gave bleutrade a 4/5 rating while I hardly trust belutrade because after I deposited money, they started asking me for KYC and I just cannot understand why they didn't tell me before depositing that they need KYC to withdraw funds.

Please everyone avoid bleutrade, unless you are ok to give out KYC.

Step One: Choose an Exchange
Signing up for a cryptocurrency exchange will allow you to buy, sell, and hold cryptocurrency. It is generally best practice to use an exchange that allows its users to also withdrawal their crypto to their own personal wallet for safer keeping. There are many exchanges and brokerage platforms that do not allow this. For those looking to consistently trade Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies AS.EXCHANGE is the place you are looking for.

Firstly, congratulations that you found out about Bitcoin ;D it's better to be late than never? Isn't it, now, Bitcoin is just like any other digital goods which you can store after buying/earning. I would recommend you to see laws of your nation first, because in many countries, Bitcoin is prohibited so you shouldn't take any risk, then sign up in an exchange based on your country so that you can easily buy and trade digital currencies for profit/holding :) Try Binance as well, it's the best as of now, globally ;)

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency and those that are known as Bitcoin cash or Bitcoin gold are forks. I would not recy you to buy those but only buy Bitcoin. You can buy in small quantity if you cannot buy 1 Bitcoin. If you have any local cryptocurrency exchange in your country then use them to purchase Bitcoin. If not then you can register on Binance exchange and you can purchase Bitcoin with local fiat.

AS.EXCHANGE is not a best place for that. It didn't been launched yet, so we can't say that's best place for OP. Instead of that exchange, i would recommend Binance exchange as best and biggest exchange site for now, it has very huge traffic compared other exchange. Their daily volume even surpassed $30billion. You don't even do KYC because their daily limit withdraw is 2 btc without KYC.

OP, there is bitcoin and that's bitcoin. Don't fall to scam which saying they have bunch of bitcoin, it's obviously trying to scam you
