Title: Fake testimonials on "TX accelerator" site https://provenance.im/
Post by: Timelord2067 on April 05, 2021, 04:24:21 AM
This thread is to alert both the fake accelerator ( provenance.im ) and the fake testimonial creator site ( demo.divipeople.com ).

The website https://provenance.im/ - Archive [1a (https://archive.ph/7hNvp)], [1b] 1s being advertised on the website http://www.blockcypher.com/ which uses third party advertising (and therefore is not associated with the advertisement (At least I don't think they are...)).

During my research I found that there has been a previous thread: Provenance.im - Bitcoin Transaction Accelerator Scam (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5127450.0) however, as I stated above, I uncovered the site and scam through different methods.

All merits received in the first 24 hours will go to margana (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1103544) who authored the above Forum thread.

https://provenance.im/img/ct1.jpeg Archive [2a (https://archive.ph/CgULR)], [2b (https://web.archive.org/web/20210405033254/https://provenance.im/img/ct1.jpeg)]

https://provenance.im/img/ct1.jpeg

Using the Reverse image locator site https://www.duplichecker.com/reverse-image-search.php we find that image used in the following locations:  (Bing lists over twenty sites using that image)

BING SEARCH (https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=imgurl:https%3a%2f%2fprovenance.im%2fimg%2fct1.jpeg&view=detailv2&selectedindex=0&mode=ImageViewer&iss=sbi&form=IRSBIQ&id=https%3A%2F%2Fprovenance.im%2Fimg%2Fct1.jpeg&ccid=q30yA32h&mediaurl=https%3A%2F%2Fprovenance.im%2Fimg%2Fct1.jpeg&exph=500&expw=500&vt=2&sim=15)

In all likelihood, most if not all of those testimonials were created via this website: https://demo.divipeople.com/plugins/brain-conkit/testimonial/ - Archive [5a (https://archive.ph/BtrTk#selection-444.1-467.14)], [5b (https://web.archive.org/web/20210405035358/https://demo.divipeople.com/plugins/brain-conkit/testimonial/)]

Great discovery!
And sure, the ad you see is not of http://www.blockcypher.com/, you see it is due to the recommendation of google or the browser you are using (I'm not sure this is the correct wording  :D )
I have just tried entering random hashes into the site, it shows successful acceleration even when I haven't made a payment yet. Just like that is enough to make others suspect, it's a pity that someone is still deceived  :-[
