The RPi is the controller for the unit. Awesome miner monitors and works with it, not instead of it. Remember 1 RPi can control several 921 units you don't need 1 for each. Also keep in mind you can't mix units. I was using a RPi2 so if you use a RPi3 you might be able to get 20 on one. You also need the cables and AUC3 don't forget those.
