If you want your transaction to be fully anonymous, you should use Monero. But if you like it as an investment too just as we hold bitcoin, it's also a good option.
Honestly imo, this coin is very underrated.

The best privacy coin definitely its worth to buy, its the privacy coin that preserve its integrity for years. If you want to be untraceable this is coin is for you, the only fear and treat that surround this coin is getting delisted from CEX due to its functionality.

First of all, if you're really interesting in learning how Monero was born, I highly encorage you to see the original thread right here in bitcointalk - [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0).

Regarding Monero itself I have to say that I like it mainly for what stands for. The amount of privacy that it adds to all the transactions and the fact that they can't be traced is awesome. It's also important to note that the coin itself already has managed to establish an economy around it, with many vendors already accepting it as a means to pay for your service and lots of others wanting to do that and looking for means to do it, you just have to go to the official sub at Reddit to see just that[1].

Without using Google I can tell you at least 3 companies that already receive Monero as payment : IVPN[2], AirVPN[3] and TorGuard[4]. As a sneak peak I really believe that Mullvad is going to start accepting Monero payments in the near future given this sneaky "like" noticed by a fellow Reddit user[5]:

You are wrong, monero isn't what bitcoin was supposed to be because nakamoto never build BTC for privacy/anonymous use, this is what makes Monero different from bitcoin, it's your choice if you want to invest in monero but leaving BTC for monero doesn't sound right

Monero is just an overpriced fork of Bytecoin. It's old technology and can likely be traced. I sold my Monero some time ago for 0xMR and incognito chain.

Everyone has their own principles and ways in determining and choosing their favorite Altcoin, especially in the crypto world.

Talking about Monero: Monero is the basic word is: Bitmonero changed to the current word Monero.
For people who use Monero coins have their own reasons for that, especially the system used by Monero is a privacy feature, and has private and public keys that are different from Bitcoin.

Each type of coin has its own advantages, Bitcoin and Monero also have its advantages, but for me it is better for now to do transactions with Bitcoin.
If: you have a transaction that other people do not want to know about the origin of your shipment it is good you use Monero, however, if you always want to try to stay safe in doing crypto transactions I recommend using Bitcoin.

investation:
If you are talking about the high price of Monero coins for the future, that might be: the reason: Monero coins have a limited supply and very little compared to other coins: 17,882,527 XMR, currently in circulation, this has a good chance of going into the future, but don't say it can get past the Bitcoin price, it never happened.

Definitely the best privacy coin I know, it's a good buy and hold coin if you are planning on investing or not but don't compare monero to bitcoin because bitcoin isn't a privacy coin, that's not what it was built for, privacy and anonymity belongs to monero and other privacy coins

Monero is a good project for anyone who is fan of a fully anonymous coin. It is bitcoin but with better technology. And it seems that monero is quite underrated due to the existence of ICO, IDO, NFT and other defi projects. So in my opinion, Monero is a good option to hold for a long time. But do not all in your money in to monero, try to separate them in at least 2 parts for safety

I was thinking XMR, ADA, BTC, Aioz Network, Beam privacy.  What do you think :P

It used to be a great coin but nowadays people do not really care about that as much as they used to. It is still a great investment, I remember when this was just 10 dollars (there could be people who remember maybe earlier) and it is now over 320 dollars, that is 32x increase and I am sure it would be even more in the future as well.

I just think that we are seeing a lot more high tech projects, Avax, Dot, Link, BNB and many more because ETH started the "be the better blockchain" method and became second so everyone tried to build a great project, I still think it is a great one and I do believe that it will continue to be one in the future as well but I just do not think that Monero would be getting the money it expects from the market, most of the money would go towards projects that look better and have a better blockchain, especially if decentralized.

Monero is a good privacy coin but it was never what Bitcoin was suppose to be, there is still no other coin out there that has the network pull of Bitcoin, there is a reason why it has a huge mining power behind it and why Monero is just sitting on fraction of it. For privacy coin, MOnero is the best in my opinion but there are things the team can improved on to make it more acceptable

Monero is more like what NOOBs thought they got when they buy Monero.  Satoshi made Bitcoin transparent so people understood it easier and developers developed it easier. There are use cases fro both coins. To be against any of them is very silly.

Monero focused on privacy and they remain as good privacy coin for over a years now, this is the real meaning of cryptocurrency, to have a transactions anonymously. Bitcoin on the other side will still allows you to remain private, as long as you don’t deal to any centralized wallet which asked you a KYC most of the time.

There’s a lot of Bitcoin address that we didn’t know who owns it, so I guess it is still Bitcoin for me over Monero but of course if there’s a chance to invest on this two, do it.

Of course, it's the best coins to hide your transactions and those who want to trace your funds won't be able to do it and this is the best thing about Monero. you can see those people talking good things about it because they've already done some test of how to properly use monero as one of the tools to hide your transaction history. If you have some big amount of bitcoins and you don't want the others to know about it. Then you came to the right place, you came to the Monero which will make things easy for you regarding anonymity of your transactions.

Just trust your instict and pretty sure in the future, it would be rewarding for those who patiently learned to wait and sacrifice their other expenses which suppose to be lost. Anything you do hear off online or in other people then always make out some verification for yourself.Study in related to Monero and prove it to yourself if
it was really worth something or not but i do agree on what other people been saying that this project is really very underrated. Its currently cheap on its
current price imho and i do have some feels that this might really rise up in rankings when people do tend to switch up to full anonymity.
We know that bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous but well, the entire community had decided on which one would be mainly supported.

monero has received the best ATH in 2017-2018 although currently the potential for monero is still there, but monero has not indicated when the second ATH will come. if you want to have monero i think this is the best time before monero is in the highest price position

but what matters is your own choice not them , just continue to use monero because like you i also agree that monero is much better in btc in terms of anonimity and its fees are also lesser when used for transacting however btc is the first coin so its impossible that what it wants is to become monero  . maybe monero wants to become a btc like every other crypto

A very large number of people are concerned about their online privacy, so they use anonymous coins. And Monero is the best of all anonymous coins. Therefore, even the delisting of coins from centralized exchanges had a temporary effect of reducing the value, which was quickly restored.

in my opinion it is also a good monero token that you mean, but if you compare it to the main coin or bitcoin, it is still very far behind Monero. First, in terms of price, bitcoin is far superior to Monero,
second about its use, Bitcoin is more widely used than monero. therefore I think it is not suitable if Monero is juxtaposed with bitcoin. in my opinion it is like that

"would pay all the debt that stressfully made our lives drowned" - a very poetic, I would say, or maybe unrealistic. The sentence itself, is somewhat, lacking, considering you mentioned about "choosing a promising asset" would eventually pay the debt that made your life stressful and "drowned". Drowned with what? Sorrow and misery? Poetic indeed like I said earlier. If people prefer Monero over Bitcoin then it is their choice. Monero is a top coin so there were and will be investors that would invest. I am just here to marvel at the coin being discussed at the same time the literary expressions that accompany with it.

I don't think Monero is what Bitcoin supposed to be because in Bitcoin, everyone can verify the transaction because it is transparent.
You can't do that in Monero, other people can't see your transactions unless they have your keys, which means the coin is not transparent.
But the decentralized aspect of Monero is same as Bitcoin.

Monero is great for a safe, anonymous way of making money and cannot track transactions. I trust because it's reputable. Monero is outperforming other currencies. In my view, in the future monero will grow no more than bitcoin and will dark the limitations of bitcoin. Give their users the most convenience.

Yeah but after the introduction of Grin, I guess monero started biting dust. Because at some point of time, even Theymos started accepting copper membership payments in Grin and forum member started Grin wall observer topic as well. I mean even monero is the highly reputed privacy oriented coin, it is facing heavy competition from other such privacy based coins like Grin.

Some exchanges delisted monero after few governments started concerning about money laundering issues against Monero which must be another reason why right away people need to consider before adopting Monero for investment purposes.

It's a privacy coin like DASH, ZEC etc. Few months back DASH, MONERO, ZEC and other some coins passed bad time due to some exchanges among the bittrex delisted those coins due to their exchange terms and regulation. From that time it has bear markets. Now it slowly turns into bullish and monero is now trading around 400$. It's really very good and I think still have a chance to go to moon for these privacy coins.

If your looking for the least amount of friction, start with Litecoin.

It's not because the other tokens are bad, but if you want to invest in MONERO, Zcash or XRP, you can't invest directly into it with USD. so because you already have to purchase another cryptocurrency before buying Monero ,Zcash or Ripple, anyway, you might as well start with Litecoin.

In my opinion Monero is the best privacy coin in crypto because Monero has a feature called the ring signature, which obfuscates the sources of funds so that they are virtually untraceable to the parties involved in the transfer. The ring signature ensures that every Monero transaction between two parties is grouped with other multiple transactions that occur among other unrelated parties.
This means that the recipient’s funds are mixed in with other Monero users’ transactions, and moved randomly across the list of transactions, making it exponentially difficult to be traced back to the source or recipient.

If you read the BTCitcoin whitepaper where does it say that BTCitcoin will be a truly anonymous coin and i cannot understand what is the benchmark you made to come to this conclusion. Satoshi created blockchain to record each and every transaction made using the network and you think it will be anonymous and if so you are so stupid to understand what he was trying to implement, no transaction that is truly anonymous will survive because the authorities will take them down and it is a fact and you will know about these anonymous market in a few years time.

It uses to be higher in the old days but it's not going to be worth using for anyone who will buy right now from exchanges because you are already known. Let's say you buy XMR on Binance today, whats is the point of doing it when you are already identified by Binance. Your data is already there. The goal is to be anonymous but if you have some sort of email or identity connected to a wallet, there is no point.

If there is a way for you to buy XMR outside an exchange maybe on DEX, the better.

Excellent explanation. If that's what you say, it's better to just buy coins that are not in the top 30 or 100 down. Because they are not well known on well-known exchanges like Binance or other exchanges.
The problem is whether the Monero coin is good and the result of their discussion does not say that Monero is not good.

Monero is a good coin. I don't agree if someone says it's not good. Each coin will definitely be better known if it is entered in a well-known exchange.
However, I myself am not interested in comparing a coin to Bitcoin.

Those who say Monero isn't a good coin mean they didn't do their research properly. Because if we do the research properly, we will definitely admit
that Monero is one of the coins worth buying. Monero has been launched since 2014 and is still holding up, meaning that Monero has a fairly high demand.
It is true that Monero is different from Bitcoin, because the Monero function provides privacy and security that allows hiding the identity of crypto users.
This is what Bitcoin cannot provide, because Bitcoin is easy to track. But it is not wise to compare Bitcoin with Monero, because they both have
different purposes in my opinion.

According to your logic, is XRP good? If so, why? What does XRP contribute to decentralization in general? Because that is what cryptocurrencies are about right?

Monero as a coin that is aiming at providing strong privacy could run into problems legally. If governments don't want fully private transactions to be available to anyone, the first thing they could do is to prohibit registered and licensed exchanges from listing the coin. There will still be ways to trade it of course, but it will make things a lot harder.

Generally, I like Monero a lot because as long as it is not possible to trace it, and it seems for now that is still the case, it does indeed work like magic money. You send it, it disappears on your end, leaves no trail and shows up on the other end.

Everybody knows that Monero is claimed to be the only anonymous coin, but even it can't guarantee complete privacy. For example, if there was not enough time (less than 20 minutes) between your transactions of buying and selling, your wallet can be revealed.

Personally I don't use Monero, because now I don't really need a lot of privacy, I don't need to hide or launder my money.

Monero is a digital currency that offers a high level of anonymity for users and their transactions. Like Bitcoin, Monero is a decentralized peer-to-peer cryptocurrency, but unlike Bitcoin, Monero is characterized as a more anonymous or privacy-oriented digital cash.
Monero is considered more of a privacy token and allows cyber criminals greater freedom from some of the tracking tools and mechanisms that the bitcoin blockchain offers.

Monero is a digital currency that can be used to send or receive payments. Also, like Bitcoin, Monero is built on blockchain technology. But unlike Bitcoin, Monero uses the CryptoNote algorithm - this is what makes it so unique.
In Monero transactions, the identity of the sender and receiver is 100% confidential. In addition, Monero transactions cannot be linked to each other and cannot be traced to the origin of the transaction.

Sure, you can apply all kinds of different statistical parameters to detect connections between wallets. Output sizes and so on, but as you say timing is very relevant, but that also applies to mixers for Ethereum or Bitcoin. That is why mixing service providers usually recommend to wait even up to 24 hours if possible. I guess that is where many users think that they can go for shortcuts and 3 hours are also fine, but it is in fact not. You really need to be a patient individual to ensure that you've put the most effort possible into keeping your actions on the blockchain private.

The government goes against everything that takes away power from them. For example, it is very noticeable in China where the government restricts mining and close different exchanges like Binance, so it is quite possible that Monero will be delisted from exchanges, so people will not be able to use it easily, on the other hand authorities can’t stop smart-contract, so people who really need anonymity will find ways to use it. To support this, have you heard that the founder of Monero has been arrested recently? Authorities can’t put up with this private currency!
