Hello,
Currently, 9,193 cryptocurrencies exist and a wallet couldn't support all of them. Some of that coins are inactive, but if a coin is active, but don't support by a wallet, then how can I have it?
How can I find a Token or Coin protocol? For example, what is the protocol of the SHIBA INU?
Any website exist that provide reliable forecast service?

1. Find their website/socmed/community and ask for a wallet that supports the coin. There should be at least one wallet/client that supports it if the chain is still running.
2. Read their docs, find it from their websites like Coingecko/CMC, or the official website.

1. There are more than 9,193 cryptocurrencies. You are probably just looking at coinmarketcap's data. Not all cryptocurrencies are listed there.

2. If there is a token or coin, there must also be a wallet which supports it. Look for it through the coin or token's official site or social media accounts and channels.

3.  I had a quick look at SHIBA INU's (SHIB) overview at coinmarketcap and it says it is available through Uniswap (V2), Hotbit, 1inch Exchange, and 0x Protocol. That means you can have a SHIBA INU (SHIB) wallet in these platforms.

Many of those cryptocurrencies are clone coins from source code of bitcoin or Ethereum. They are dead projects and no future with their products.

No wallets will give you support for all cryptocurrencies on the market. Thousands and the number will increase.

You can use Exodus wallet if you want to have a multiple cryptocurrency wallet. It is closed-source but non-custodial wallet.

I believe that each project has its own website and most of the important information is also listed there, including wallets the protocol use case, etc. if you want more information you can also read the project's whitepaper I'm sure all of the necessary information is listed there. by the way, most of the time the CMC, CoinGecko, and other crypto data and insight listing service is not complete because not all projects are already listed there so you can't rely upon them all the time. 

How about Guarda?

You have to search it for yourself I guess, it shouldn't be you have to like others spoon-feeding you. Guarda wallet has limited support for coins in their wallet and some reviews about Guarda suggests that it has relatively high fee. You can check reviews on the web and hope you know how to do it.

I think you need to keep this advice, because it is true, one of them is to know the ins and outs of a token, then their social media is the easiest alternative. so that we know how active they are in developing their tokens and know what their target for the future will be.


because by seeing the updated news from these social media posts, it shows the seriousness of running the token community so that it continues to exist and be known more widely. if you do not find them active, it means release the token immediately.

I think that when the coin is still active and it will always have a wallet even that's a QT wallet that already issued by the developers.
that's quite impossible the developer will not create a native wallet for its own coin if it doesn't support by wallet created by 3rd party.
Shiba inu was using ethereum blockchain and you can track it easily on CMC now. CMC is mentioning which blockchain that already used to issue the asset.

Telegram community channel of project is helpful if you need to ask and get quick supports. However, scammers and impersonators are popular in Telegram groups.

You can join the token community to request a smart contract and can find the token in the wallet. but usually the token has not been registered on the platform, you can enter the smart contract address on the platform and find the token there

There are much more than 9,193 cryptocurrencies if you look at the whole data. A lot of them don't make it to cmc but they're listed in other exchange. In order to find what you are looking for you should look at their contract address that you can find in explorer or better yet, try to communicate to them through social if they have one and ask them about the protocol. As long as coin is active there will be data for it, even dead coins from the past will have it.

9,193 crypto currencies and 99% of them are shit coins. So you don't need a wallet that could support all. All well established coins have their own wallets. If you still want to invest in those shitcoins and looking for a wallet, go to their website. You will find a core wallet provided by the dev team. It is impossible for them not to have any wallet but are active. Or if you are looking for a thirdparty wallet that will support all coins, I doubt you will find any.

he doesn't even need to join the group just to ask about the smartcontract that used by such an asset. The fact that there are lots of sites like CMC, cryptorank, and many more that already mentioned which blockchain that used by the project.
If op wants to use a small of his effort and he can know that easily.
There's no need to join in the group just to know what kind of asset it is.
Some people have been mentioning the correct steps about how to check the asset used by the token.

There is no harm in joining their groups/channels to make sure he has the right contract address.

This sounds funny but out of the 9000+ cryptocurrencies in existence and actively traded, there are a few of them that has the same ticker and/or similar name. I have encountered several people who bought token B thinking it was token A. Heck, some newbies even mistake BCH to be BTC.

Of course, one wallet can't support them all because probably those coins/tokens weren't built in one chain only. You need to learn how the crypto sphere works. It's contained many chains and some projects built their tokens on a certain chain or they can have their own chain that has the native coin. To know what chain they're built on, you can check on their telegram group/discord, social media, or website. They certainly will provide the information, and then you can search for certain wallets that support that project, or ask them directly what wallet that you need to have to keep their coins/tokens.

I believe there was this service called Coin Janitor that would buy all those dead or inactive tokens,,, not for good prices but better than nothing.

Or make yourself the offer on Marketplace and see if anyone takes it. With gas fees so high though,,, doubt if anyone will even want to make the transaction for more than $5 (so set super low gas price).

You don't have to worry with those coins, if they don't have their own supporting wallet, most of them are ERC20 tokens which you only need to have an Ethereum address/wallet for you to keep those tokens. There's a newer one which is called BSC, a few are made from those but there's a likely that many projects will also start working with it. Just make your own Ethereum wallet if the token you want is an ERC20 token. Well, if a dev creates a wallet that supports all the cryptos in the market it will be a total waste I guess. But that's a good idea, maybe a dev will develop a wallet that supports all of it.

You can't have all in one. There are few multicrypto supported wallets, for instance, trust wallet. But there are wallets for each and every coin. To get the authentic/official website of any coin, you can check the coinmarketcap and find their website. You can get most of the information there.

What do you mean by "Just make your own Ethereum wallet if the token you want is an ERC20 token."? I have a Freewallet account and it generated an Ethereum address for me. Thus, if a token is based on Ethereum, then I can use my Ethereum address to receive it?

Please deposit tokens only to the relevant deposit address of a token. For example, if you trade with Vechain, it shall be a Vechain address rather than an Ethereum one.

Only 9,193? Probably you checked with old data ;D. Inactive coins are no more useful. You cannot move them but tokens on ethereum network are always moveable but what is the point of moving when such tokens are available on none of exchanges. Moreover, these days gas required to move is really ridiculous and due to that reason I have abandoned lots of ETH tokens.

If you are beginner and not into developments then you never need to worry on protocols/algorithms of coins. Just check with corresponding websites and download the wallet and check for right downloads by verifying the checksum and then start transacting those coins. I have few coins but their website itself down for long time.

If i want to look information about a coin, first thing that i do is search in a google with keyword (coin) bitcointalk. Usually there are information in this forum about coin which is new or old and usually in their ANN, it is already describe what else is information that we want to look up for example, wallet,website, etc. And in this forum also we can know how people react or maybe respond about thread of the coin so we can see how bad or good the coin is.

Right but if you are looking for a wallet, it is not only about finding any wallet that works, but also about finding a RELIABLE wallet source!

You can use Myetherwallet.com for your ethereum wallet address. There's a lot of bad feedback on free wallet.

This is right. Once you already have an Ethereum address, you can receive tokens from it. Avoid using of Ethereum wallet from an exchange because they might not give you the token that has been sent to that Ethereum address. That's why it's better to use MEW, Mycrypto or any other of the same that has reputation.

What you're going to do with inactive coins/projects? No activity means such projects are already dead.
So, there will be no point of worrying about them because such coins are already abandoned by its devs.

Do you know? Even dogecoin's core wallet is is not connecting to its nodes. I have been trying to sync my wallet for more than one month of time still I am unable to finish it up which blocks me to know from how much balance I'm having right now. Really annoying but what we could do except facing such situations.

If you want to find out about the token or coin specification, you should go to coinmarketcap first, there are links to their project there.
But if the coin haven't listed yet on coinmarketcap, then you can find their announcement thread in this forum.
There are multiple ways to find the wallet that support the coin, but usually new coin doesn't have any other mobile wallet and only cli wallet or gui  desktop wallet.

Most of those cryptos are Ethereum tokens which are compatible with most Ethereum wallets, like Trust mobile and Metamask.

usually you can save in advance in the wallet by entering a smart contract. This is useful for you to be able to find your token even though it is not registered in the wallet or exchange.
or maybe you can look for references from their community group, they will definitely have a solution

As far as I know Shiba Inu is an ERC20 token, so receiving it using your ETH address(assuming this is not from an exchange) is ok.  But in order to access this token, you must use an ERC20 compatible wallet such as myetherwallet.com, metamask or any wallet app that is erc20 compatible. 

All of these coins will never supported in any specific wallet. Even those aren’t created in a smart chain, like myetherwallet is supported specially ERC-20 tokens and trustwallet supported many varieties of tokens. You can find easily for searching in cmc or coingecko Shiba INU found in coingecko & CMC this coin listed in 4 exchanges, it’s erc20 token and you can check in details.

If in my Ethereum wallet, I have some Ethereum and use my Ethereum address to receive SHIBA INU, then these coins do not combine?

Very rarely a dead cat bounce happens but that is not worth the risk. Most end up as bag holders if they buy in hopes of some mysterious price explosion.

That coin is being traded at Uniswap (v2) and 1inch in SHIB -> ETH
It is being traded also as well in Hotbit and MXC to USDT equivalence though.

Coingecko is one of your friends to look up for where the coins are being traded.

If the token is a ERC20 then do not worry you can have it in myetherwallet but if the token or a coin has own blockchain then you can check their website I'm sure there is web wallet or a software wallet for PC or android. About Shiba Inu, it is a ERC20 token and it's listed in some exchanges like hotbit, uniswap just check that coin in coingecko.

If you have the private key of or the seed phrases or the json file of the address then you can just import your wallet address to a wallet that supports ERC20 token to view your SHIBA INU token.  Here (https://medium.com/@trillhub/erc-20-token-compatible-wallet-list-9fa1b4aafe78) is the known ERC20 compatible wallet (just found an article about it) but I recommend Myetherwallet, Mist or Metamask since I use them without any issue.


It won't combine since they have different contract address.  You can see your ETH balance and also your Shiba Inu.  See this screenshot of metamask

Those coins will not combine as ethereum was different compared with shiba inu as the ERC20 token asset. You must not feel worried about that. Just store those coins in the same wallet and you will be fine.
Shiba inu was using the different contract than ethereum. shiba just a token and it's not the same as ethereum

All each crypto created personal wallet, and for tokens that created by smart contract of blockchain, we can use personal wallet that supported the main coin of that blockchain. All BEP 20 Tokens can be stored on the same wallet that support BNB, ERC20 tokens in ETH wallet, SPL tokens in Solana wallet. The personal wallet that many user crypto use it is Metamask that support wallet for all tokens of ERC20, BEP20, and Tokens that created by blockchain Avalanche and Matic. And for mobile personal wallet that supported alot of different chain is Trust wallet.

when they exist but you are confused about storing them, where can you see the token that you have is supported by what blockchain network? like BEP -2 or BEP-20, ERC, or TRC. there are even many more blockchain chain networks. each of them definitely makes a wallet for storage. you can save by entering manually.
I suggest you enter the trust wallet and metamask.
