Title: .key to Multibit wallet early 2016. can i safely assume it's Multibit classic? Post by: Deadrisinghelp on April 16, 2021, 02:55:53 PM i'm trying to crack the key now (i's my dead friends KEY so i can't ask him)
from the little information i got, he sent me his .KEY file as a back up back in 2016. can i safely assume it's Multibit Classic key and NOT a multibit HD which uses scrypt for encryption ? (The only wallet/key files in MBDH were mbhd.wallet.aes or mbhd-TIMESTAMP.wallet.aes files)
So, it's either a MultiBit Classic .key automatic backup (or export) file... or it is a .key file from some other wallet. I'm not aware of any other wallets that used files with a .key extension. However that doesn't mean they don't exist. |
