I believed that bitcoin will not last because of government policy is against bitcoin and many people is seeing bitcoin as a scam, so with such points I don't think bitcoin will stay till 2030, and if bitcoin stay till then that means it will stay till further notice.
Please am not here to criticised cryptocurrency but from the attacks government attacks crypto I think such will come in reality.

You believe that it'll come into reality, but don't you know how? If you do get how it works, then you should be sure that whether they dislike it or not, it'll always work. Most of the governments don't like the idea, but they've noticed that it'd be better for them to be part of it, than trying to illegalize it. (After many failing attempts of course)

Government policy is against internet piracy too. MegaUpload was shutdown, but what about BitTorrent? You can't shut down a peer-to-peer network. That's an immunity brought to you by internet.

what do you mean by many? did you run any reasearch and ask people in the streets what they think about bitcoin or are you just saying it to have said something?

Even though I wouldn't say that Bitcoin will last for Infinity, But Bitcoin is here to stay for a long while. Yes there are some countries where the Governments are not in support of Cryptocurrencies but also there are many other countries for now that the Governments have not done against Cryptocurrencies at least for now and hopefully not and there are others who actually do not go against it. So just by this simple example, Bitcoin might end up lasting for a very long time also because, the governments can only ban its trading within the country but not its existence. 

Government policy against cryptocurrency will probably encourage more investors to come to it.

I don't think bitcoin will last long to be honest, I'd give it less than 10 years and certainly less than 50 - but it'll be replaced with something similar but better.

Infinity is very very far away. The speed of light is only 299,792,458 meters per second.  Therefore, it would take too much time to transmit a block to infinity and back. It would be impossible for the network to ever reach consensus under such long communication delays.  It probably won't even be possible to use the same blockchain on both Earth and Mars considering the 6 minute to 44 minute round trip time (depending on orbital positions), so no Bitcoin definitely won't make it to infinity.

Or did you mean eternity? Eternity is a very very long time.  Nothing lasts to eternity.  Humans won't last that long.  Planets and stars won't last that long. If there are no people, and no sun, and no planet, then there is no Bitcoin.  So, no, Bitcoin definitely won't make it to eternity.  I'll be very happy if Bitcoin makes it 300 years.

Bitcoin will continue to exist as long as people know how to use the internet, or has a way to access the internet itself. That's why a world war or something of the likes is the worst thing that can happen to us crypto investors and enthusiasts because of the fact that war impedes on technological progress, which means that there will be less support and usage for internet.

Don't think government can really stop Bitcoin even if they want to. The lack of a central authority makes it very difficult to cripple the system and any attempts would involve censorship of their internet.

Bitcoin can probably last for a long time, the branding that is. Bitcoin in a few years would look very different from the version that we have today. Allowing it to evolve continually gives it a chance to survive against any threats.

Government has been trying to get rid of Bitcoin from the onset and they haven't been able to truly fo anything about it and they won't be able to do anything stop bitcoin not even in the near future or in 2030 like you mentioned. At best, government can only make up bad press media about Bitcoin that would go as far as bringing the price down. Other than that, government won't be able to stop Bitcoin's network from operating as it is.  2030 is just a decade away and there were many talks about government ending crypto in the past decade and it didn't work, still won't because Bitcoin is stronger than ever.

If me personally never think about that. That is why bitcoin or maybe crypto i will consider as side business. Real business or maybe job is important because it maybe can last longer or maybe depends on us how we make it last long or not. But in crypto i think anytime it can collapse especially if lose trust from its users. Although not resist sometimes income from crypto is bigger.

People that says bitcoin is still a scam is either they are a victim of ponzi scheme with the use of bitcoin or they are non-technical type of people who still can accept digital currencies and only considers fiat as a form of money. With the big institution investing in bitcoin and adopting blockchain technology, how can they say it is still a scam. I've known bitcoin 2016 and since then I never thought of it as a scam. Though the price is very volatile, if regulation will happen or all bitcoin is mined then I think its price will begin to stabilize.

If we are talking about infinity then it will be problematic since there is no machine that can last for that amount of time. Maybe if we perceive cyberspace as an immortal plane then maybe bitcoin can last till infinity.

You know what doesn't run after that which you don't have any knowledge of especially when it comes to future things which will gonna happen or not. Today's era in the crypto industry is not meant to discuss the later issue instead if you want to take advantage of the current situation, you need to arm yourself with enough knowledge to be able to invest in the right project so that you will gonna prosper in the future.

Even if government bans it, people still have the control to transfer it through p2p transaction or even use VPNs when ISP block each trading site.

no matter what happen to crypto currency in the future wherein even government ban it due to some accusation such scamming and even they will base on its dark side.. Still they cannot stop crypto currency on its service, especially bitcoin in my opinion.. Because ever since BTC has a big advantage than real fiat. So for me its impossible that ppl will stay away on it as long as it still gives more opportunity for the hodler to earn massive profits... For this reason there's no way to be rejected if that times happen.

There are plenty of government out there and not every country is against Bitcoin or even if they are would that even lead to the end of Bitcoin?
There are country or government that is against Bitcoin till now but did it end Bitcoin from growing?
We don't know how long it would last but we all know that it is decentralized and it isn't being controlled by anyone so if you want to use it, earn from it we are all free to do so.

Another pessimistic approach towards bitcoin. Remember that while othet countries are regulating and banning bitcoin, more countries are bitcoin friendly and tend to adopt it with an open arms. We are not in a traditional way of living, modernized technologies, cashless system are already been introduced. Thus bitcoin as advanced blockchain offers a lot of use in different aspects.

Also, as bitcoin has a limited supply, it will last many years from now. Probably the last bitcoin to be mined will be 2140. Hundred decades and more.and that for sure, we will gonna witnessed the existence of bitcoin until we are alive.

We all understand that Infinity has no verge or no limitations. I will not live and it is doubtful how far my community will live.  I don't understand how logical it would be to discuss so distantly.  But I imagine Bitcoin might exist and I expect it to exist.

I don't think govs will start a war against bitcoin, there is a lot of money involved and the governments who decide to block or ban Bitcoin will lose an awesome business opportunity. We know China is holding tons of BTC and at least they will not ban it. and that's why I think bitcoin will not be blocked by govs.

But as a reminder, nothing lasts forever, sha256 will be brute-forced in the future, and that will make the coins migrate to a new encryption system with more complexity, which will be some kind of evolution for bitcoin. But it will survive to that.

Attack after attack related to bitcoin news has started to emerge. The government doesn't want to be outdone by bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot be destroyed because the bitcoin community continues to grow every day.

There are tons of governments in this world and most of them are neutral about bitcoin. Only a handful have harsh reception towards the cryptocurrency, and even if that's the case they are yet to fully ban any transactions, dealings, and related things with bitcoin. Even though that's the case, that doesn't mean that bitcoin can last forever. There is always a possibility that it can be taken over by a new cryptocurrency, and that's what I think is going to happen in the future if developments on bitcoin were to halt for some reason.

I believed that you believe can't be success. Because i believe you still don't know bitcoins working process, algorithm. If you will know then you might not think about Infinity time. Where government can't able to trace a transaction or can not track sender or reciever then how you thought that government will be able to stop users to use it. I believed it could be impossible. Remember bitcoin is invisible. And you should research about other country where other countries government thinking to creat their own digital currency. The it should be waste of time to thought in future government will ban bitcoin.

The first thing to say about this is that it is technically not infinite. Simply because the algorithm will only allow a certain amount to be released. The second thing I want to say is that nothing is infinite unless you believe in God or something like that from the field of astrophysics. Third, why do you think this end will happen "soon"? There are no prerequisites for this. The market is developing, private investors and states are investing in cryptocurrency openly and more and more actively. Everything is fine) smile! :)

What I know about government policies towards Bitcoin:
1. Not supported by the financial services authority. This is because the distribution is completely unregulated and there is no guarantee from the government.
2. Bitcoin is vulnerable to being hacked
3. Often involved in Money Laundering to Terrorist Funding
But from there, Bitcoin is still allowed for long-term investments. Buying products or living necessities by paying using Bitcoin is prohibited because the price fluctuates significantly. But in my opinion, state policy is still different.

When it comes to scam/money laundry and some other criminal acts is where I think the government might come in to play their game. But looking at it from another angle,  the well know government officials are also participating in crypto especially bitcoin cos it's a means of hiding public funds to avoid been caught.

Hello everybody. I believe it is a misconception that Bitcoin will not last long. The government's bans on cryptocurrencies do not indicate the criminal origin of cryptocurrencies, but that the government cannot subjugate this area of activity and cannot come up with a real mechanism for regulating cryptocurrencies. Personally, my opinion is that until they come up with a more advanced financial structure than cryptocurrency, Bitcoin will always be in demand. At least we have enough for our lives.

Government had done lots of things for them to suppress out the achievement on what Bitcoin had able to reached out until this very moment.It wouldnt really able to fly that high
if there's no actual relevance towards into its existence when it comes to payment system.Talking about infinity then this isnt something that you can just make out conclusions.
No human being would able to do so and no matter how positive they do look towards bitcoin but doesnt mean that it will remain like forever.
People does only have lots of speculations and presumptions on where the price could possibly hit up or able to reach out.

It's very obvious that bitcoin will last forever provided that fiat currency exist, so shall bitcoin exist till infinity, the only thing that will make bitcoin to be moving forward is the massive adoption of cryptocurrencies across the world, so from my perspective bitcoin or crypto in general will take over fiat currency in time coming.

A government ban isn't enough to stop bitcoin or destroying it. Actually a government ban means nothing in the currently technological level we are. People have many tools to avoid bans, like Proxies, VPNs and even person to person transactions.

Well, first thing --you can’t generalize the government. As governments are not calibrated and they all have unique rules. And it changes from cities, states, nationals and international. And all of them are powerful and if you check, most of them accept Bitcoin as it is today.

I was just about to question your idea of infinity because, I really don't know where it comes from. How do you know if there is an infinity at all and again, there could never really be an answer for such a question with a giant leap into the future. Well, if I should say something about bitcoin and the role the government are playing at the moment,  i think the government are doing what every normal individual or body as it is in this case would of. Bitcoin is a revolution and revolutions are always against so.ething for various reasons on a change. So, when this change isn't going to maximize profit for you, especially when you don't know how to utilise it, you've got to put out a fight.

Thats what the government is doing but, bitcoin has evolved to be the people, following ots decentralized nature and as such, fighting the people you claim to serve isn't the best of strategy and so, its natural to expect the government to fail in this fight and hope that the world would adopt bitcoin at some point.

Okay, here is my point of view it will not last if the majority of governments in some different countries banned bitcoin or any other altcoin that is cryptocurrency-related.

BUT I believe that anything is possible like when are people asking will bitcoin go bull this may? questions I got to read from the month of January because of Ellon Musk and Tesla I always said it possible it may and it may not which made me believe even more that anything is possible. Still, at the end of the day, it's up to you to believe what you know.

As of now I would suggest and have time to gain knowledge read more about bitcoin and there you will the answer by yourself basing on past news or things you might read about cryptocurrency especially its history.  

I think not it will not last to infinity there are countless debates where infinity isn't real and universe isn't even profound to say it can last infinity. So my theory is it can't last an infinity if humanity ceases to exist. Currency or crypto is useless if no one uses it. Infinity is a word you can't take lightly therefore you are wrong for asking that question.

It will stay forever and more valuable too. Its been proven to have stayed despite the bans from governments, China had changed its stance to it after the long term of baning it. Now it seems to have loossen its regularization and they might even allow more cryptocurrency as well. But what made China decide to do this I guess is because people are already using it to hedge their money, this country also wants to protect the wealth of their people.

Well 2030 is 9 years away from now and I guess we will see however you must realize that while some government are against Bitcoin and other crypto, not all Government are of this view and before we get to that year, we might begin to see a more crypto acceptable government across even though what I see might be more of a focused regulation than Bans.

I don't really believe in the concept of infinity. Some of man's greatest works in the ancient times, only a handful survived to this day. Bitcoin as a digital asset will only to continue existing, as long as the internet continues to exist and as long as there will be people who will hold the said coins then it might survive for the next 200 to 500 years. But still depending if the situation of the world at the time does not lead to our extinction first.

No one can say for sure whether bitcoin will last forever the rise of the crypto market is not stable but the existence of bitcoin will last as long as the internet world exists. Many countries around the world including china are adopting bitcoin to increase the huge demand for bitcoin there is no government policy that would attack bitcoin crypto is out of the control of the government. Most of the investors right now aren't the same as it is many years ago. Whenever the investors sees governments attacking Bitcoin, in the past they see this as a bad news therefore many will panic and many will sell causing the price to go down. That isn't the case anymore. Yes maybe there are some who are still panicking but they see this as a good news already. One thing more is that there might be some governments that are against Bitcoin but more are either supporting it or just let it use by the people in the country.

With regards to Bitcoin being a scam, this is a wrong perception of the people. Bitcoin isn't a scam but it is just a tool that scammers are being used to scam people. Same with fiat currency. Scammers are just using Fiat to scam people and Bitcoin is just being used too to scam people.

almost all countries ban bitcoin has happened a long time ago and until now it is still like that, but in reality bitcoin does not need the trust of the government, bitcoin stands alone until now without support from the government, the price of bitcoin is getting more expensive.

I think bitcoin is Infinity.Hopefully bitcoin will last lifetime. Now some government don’t like Crypto-currency.But bitcoin doesn’t stop any country. Like 2030?Not!  I think bitcoin will rise to continue.

Really, what's stopping bitcoin to last forever? the blockchain is decentralized and I doubt the government could ban it, the only thing they can do to hold btc is to make regulation with harsh punishment but people could always "smuggle" bitcoin somehow, same thing why government hasn't eradicated piracy until now even though most of piracy activities done individually but they are struggling hard against it. Maybe the network could slowly become low in traffic or something else as people moving on to maybe another technology which I didn't see happening since cryptocurrency in general always developing. Also, most of government that bans bitcoin usually have relatively not strong economy IMO because their paper money or stock market just can't compete with it.

What you should know is that the government cannot actually stop the use cryptocurrencies. I'm sure you're aware of the case of Nigeria when the government banned the use of cryptocurrencies in the country. The only thing affected was that exchanges could not offer currency pair in the Nigerian Naira. You should however know that this didn't stop the use of cryptocurrencies because people just resorted to the use of P2P.
Trust me, they can't stop crypto. Bitcoin will exist till infinity and with time more people will adopt it

How can you not believe in the concept of infinity, I mean you could count numbers and never run out, but that's your claim. I do agree with what you are saying though, as long as Internet is a thing, anything digital is going to exist. Extinction for humanity is a good thing for the world, humanity destroys everything it touches so it is for the better but damn do I hope that we could do space travel in our time.

I respect your opinion because long ago that is how I think of Bitcoin but now I believed that it will be fully accepted in the future. Imagine when I enter this crypto world about 4 years have passed. Bitcoin was totally strange for anyone, it is notorious for being used in a lot of shady transactions especially scamming but look at it now everyone doesn't want to miss out on the increase of bitcoin, even large institutions are now also venturing up. Moreover, those government who doesn't like Bitcoin at all even placing a prohibition toward it are now gradually accepting it, in fact, there are now numerous countries who already legalize it.

bitcoin has been going through difficult times so far, so I'm not sure bitcoin will die because of the government, isn't it that the government has long banned the use of bitcoin but until now the public doesn't really care about this statement, because they believe that bitcoin can change the future more bright.

Nothing lasts until infinity, the currency of the Roman Empire disappeared because sooner or later the world ends up changing. Although crypto can stay with us for a long time, I don't think bitcoin will. It may be bitcoin itself that changes internally, or it may be external factors, such as governments that force it to change or disappear. So although I think we have 50 or 100 years of cryptocurrencies left, I think that in a concept that has just been born, we have to wait, that until it is definitively established there will be many changes of cards and players

You are not criticizing Cryptocurrencies but you criticize Bitcoin ? and Government ? which of them because the world composed of Hundreds of governments .

Op , you need to wake up because many government are using bitcoin, they have seen it is unstoppable. Peer 2 peer transactions makes it more difficult. My advise to you is if you can't hodl a fraction of bitcoin then you go hodl some crypto because prices you seeing today are going to increase more after another bitcoin halving.

Bitcoin will continue to exist,as long as there are miners and users.If the miners and users of Bitcoin Core see no benefit of continuing their support for BTC,then Bitcoin will stop existing.Government attacks can only lower the Bitcoin price.I don't believe that a government attack can take control over the blockchain or destroy it.
 

Governments in lots of countries are struggling with drugs, or casinos for example. But there are lots of countries that legalise those things. Or in case they do not allow such things, in this case such directions exist on dark markets. There are such things that are unlikely to disappear one day, because they are always required by different people. As for crypto - there are lots of opportunities and potential things for development, that thousands of people will need and will make everything in order to find the way how to use and get it even in case it will be forbidden or limited in some way. But look at lots of countries and businesses that are accepting crypto and Bitcoin nowadays. In my opinion crypto is a rehearsal before some great changes will come on our planet in economy, way of payments and so on. And in case we will be able to see those changes you will recall my words.

It's a really hard question to be honest. It's hard to predict whether it can or not. For now, things are going really great for Bitcoin. Many people and companies are investing a huge amount of money into it. And the mass adoption is also going on awesome. As long as these things continue like this, I don't see Bitcoin being dead in the future.

If you're asking whether Bitcoin will still exist 10 or 20 years from now, I'm positive that it will. If you're asking about infinity, I'm pretty sure that like everything, it will die at some point. As for regulations, they cannot literally kill Bitcoin. For one, it seems that countries are usually opting for some form of regulating Bitcoin rather than for banning it completely. Apart from that, even if every country in the world banned Bitcoin, the technology would still be there and there would still be people using it and supporting the network. It's just that the price would be very low and the amount of users would probably also go down very significantly.

Government is really against bitcoin and they already do some things to kill bitcoin or to delete its existence but still, bitcoin keeps on being strong and building the trust of many people. As of these days, we can say that bitcoin is really a trend all over the country and most of them are already good with it, a lot of countries still ban bitcoin but still some of their netizens are exploring bitcoin and doing some trading and investment, this is really happening in our country. Bitcoin will not be dead because we now see that mass adoption is happening little by little.

2030 is such a short time for you to say infinity 9 years from now, if you deduct 2009 till now you will see that it surpasses the year you are claiming now. Personally, I see bitcoin climbing the ladder more than the years you are claiming. There may be some adjustments and policy to it but will supercedes the time you claim.

Well right now, not many people know about Bitcoin and knows how it worked. There might be some things that the financial sector does not like with Bitcoin, and they may be attempting some steps so that it will be banned or not adopted in their country, but as you have said, it is not stopping and there is no stopping Bitcoin right now. We are going to see big changes in the financial ecosystem and we will be able to make sure that we would be going to the top of the crypto chain.

Well, the cowries payment system didn't last forever before it was replaced by a more refined method in Fiat. This is the same way something more refined than cryptos will also kick in years from now to replace Bitcoin at al. In life, nothing lasts forever.

Bitcoin can't last 'till infinity. It's limited. Someday last coin will be mined. And then at some point BTC will collapse for sure.

I think the main threat to bitcoin is the rise of other technologies which are better and have the power to infiltrate and frustrate the bitcoin blockchain. Quantum computer is the first tech appearing in my mind.

I don't think so, BTC or Cryptocurrency as a whole manage to hold for more than a decade and still growing until now. Maybe the government will try to adapt the cashless payment system which will affect the economy of BTC in the near future but it wont be enough to take down BTC for a lifetime.

Actually, the government in some countries has a hidden agenda towards cryptocurrencies. Some are just pretending that they are against it but in reality, they are secretely storing up crypto inside their national banks. In terms of predicting how long will bitcoin prevail, we can never be certain since no one can ever predict what the future holds. If we're going to rely on the probability that bitcoin can last our whole lifetime, considering its position and capability right now, the probability is high that it will. Instead of wondering until when will it last, maybe it would be best that we make the most from it while it last, trying is much better than regret.

Bitcoin is the currency of the future.  Who told you that Bitcoin is out of government policy?  If that were the case, the government would not accept it in many countries.  At the present time many big companies have dubbed Bitcoin as the currency of the future.  They are even investing a lot of money in Bitcoin.  Doesn't this mean that Bitcoin is slowly reaching its goal?  Bitcoin will be the only successful currency of the future.

It is uncertain and it remains like that forever. It wasn't the infinity life I saw in Bitcoin but I believe that it still able to stay in the market for many years. I don't worried about being controlled by the government or they ban this because they do this already in the past years but it is still fine and perhaps, Bitcoin is growing more and more. I've heard that 5 years ago, many people thought that ways but with bitcoin's ability to run through blockchain network; government has no control over it. Unless, this currency is regulated but it's only rumors who told us about regulations, though it could only be implemented with fiat currency but not with bitcoin. In my opinion, bitcoin will still be here in the year 2030. Somehow, the adoption is just starting to grow stronger. So in 9 years to come, I believe, bitcoin will still be here. And the companies/institutions joining this market will further increase. But definitely, we can't tell if this will be forever. As nothing lasts forever. But in the next decade,  I believe the existence of crypto or bitcoin will still be here. The use case of crypto and blockchain technology is still in the early stage, so I don't think it will perish in the next decade.

I dont know whether bitcoin will infinity or not but I believe that bitcoin will last for a much longer time, because basically if we look at the reason the government banned bitcoin this is like artificial. apart from that the motive is only one to increase revenue to the government because at this time bitcoin does not have certain taxes and the government legalizes this.

Governments can't do anything except upto a limit to regulate crypto and Bitcoin, they can't chase it till infinity because quite simply, Bitcoin is way above their league, literally, they can't control or regulate it. Not many pay much attention to bitcoin including me in its early days. Advancement in technologies are rarely accepted in the start. Bitcoin has not only successfully survived its first decade but also gained a huge value. I am 100% sure that bitcoin will be there till 2140 when last bitcoin will be mined. However, we must remember that technology is constantly evolving, so scientists can surprise us at any time and create Bitcoin 2.0

Bitcoin will never last for inifinity. Even planets/stars will have its end. Then a blackhole will form after the death of a massive star. Also there's even a theory that black holes evaporate under Hawking radiation, a solar mass black hole will evaporate over 10^64 years. Even blackhole will never last for infinity.

In an ideal world, governments should serve the people. If people do see the value in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies they should find a way to implement it alongside or as a replacement for the centralized fiat money.  I'm sure that massive protests will be organised around the world if big governments ban it especially now, that the level of institutional adoption is getting traction and blue chip companies like Tesla start accepting it.

We never know what is the far future of Bitcoin.  I am a firm believer that the only permanent in this world is change so there is always a possibility that Bitcoin can last long but not in infinite way.  Code can last forever since it is a piece of data if that is the case then it will last till infinity but if you are talking about the market then it won't.  It may exist hundred to thousand of years but one day it will stop to trade in the market just like the ancient coins used by our ancestors.

I might have said before that it might last a few thousand years before, but now I might change that and tell my opinion that Bitcoin will last as long as the internet will. I like to read your comments on the uncertainty whether bitcoin will last or not. Because it is not my fear. Alright I just finished one thread from a bloke talking about the "end of Bitcoin". I mean he asks if this is the "end" of Bitcoin because of the "great downfall", and now we have another one. Well, from the looks of it our Bitcoin thread is full of blokes who are not trusting of the cryptocurrency so they do some panic post about their FUD and maybe they are up to make weak hands of the others here as well. Well, many here have seen many "corrections" - and this is the right term, not the downfall or end of Bitcoin s*it they peddling in the forum. Please, do me a favor and sell all your Bitcoin so you can get your money back.

Bitcoin will continue to exist. The cryptocurrency market is developing rapidly, and now more and more people know and join it. Although the government does not block Bitcoin, because it is the fastest and safest anonymous transaction, many people still invest in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin isn't going away. Because BTC is a decentralized product, consensus mechanisms provide trust, and mining provides incentives. As long as there is consensus, the BTC has value. I really don't see Bitcoin lasting forever, to tell the truth. But I also think that it won't stop functioning very soon also. I think it still has many years and many records to break ahead of it. But after a point, people may start losing their interest in Bitcoin completely. And that can speed up the process.

I believe as long as I'm alive BTC will still be here and may upto next generation until there is something new that will be developed that can changed it's value. It will be keep as BTC as long as there are people who hold and uses it. Generation changes as well technology so there might be new technology alike that may come.

It'll happen when the internet all over the world is wiped out. Then the worldwide bitcoin community will be cut off, and bitcoin will soon be abandoned. If the technology we use today is destroyed, and we can go back to an age where technology didn't exist - then that's where bitcoins were destroyed.

We do not have any clear answer to that question I'm afraid. The reason is that Cryptocurrency is still in its infancy and still has a long way to go before it can prove its worth in the Financial sector. Many traditional investors are not even into cryptocurrency so I guess we have to see within our lifetimes. Cryptocurrency still has a long way to go before we can see its potential. I would say we continue supporting cryptocurrency and the projects we invest in and time will do the rest.

I don't know why so many people make the same mistake and post this BS. Mining will not end in 2140 and the "last bitcoin" won't be mined in 2140. Right now, the block reward consists of two parts - mining reward and fee reward. For 2020-24, the block reward stands at BTC6.25 per block and the fee reward can range from BTC0.50 to BTC2.00 depending on the memepool size. The block reward will decrease by half every 4 years and within the next 2-3 decades it will be near zero. After that fee reward will constitute the majority of the mining output, and this will last for as long as BTC exists.

There is a common proverb that gives a very appropriate answer to this question, and i quote " What comes easy won't last long, and what will last long won't come easy". So far with all the difficulties and obstacles that bitcoin has faced and is facing, it is fair to say that it is a sign/pointer that is something that will last, most probably till infinity.
