Post by: Backontrack87 on April 21, 2021, 02:54:37 AM
Hi I am  new to cryptocurrency. 2018 Christmas I got persuaded to buy 4 litecoin that cost $2000 aus. They immediately dropped to $200 in 2019. Then I sent those litecoin from my litecoin wallet to a Bitcoin wallet so obviously they never arrived there.

I have the wallet sent to. I have my own litecoin Freewallet I have the bitcoin wallet address I used to send to. I have the hashcode for the litecoin in the blockchain. How do I retrieve my Litecoin

Find the private key of the Bitcoin Address that you send it.

if you have that private key you may be able to recover it.
else your coins are lost.

Import the private key into any LTC wallet.

what is the type of your BTC address?

You can basically recover your LTC if you have your BTC privkey. I don't know what type of btc wallet you are used, but I found this article, please learn more https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/6xpxg1/accidentally_sent_litecoin_to_bitcoin_address/

Find the private key of the Bitcoin Address that you send it.
If the OP means he has a btc address in the wallet which is also from freewallet, then that is bad news.
Freewallet is a custodian wallet that does not provide privkeys.

They're gone.

But to give you some hope, just like the link above there could be some processes that you can follow to retrieve it. Although most likely they're gone forever.

Why have you sent your Litecoin to a bitcoin wallet address? isn't there a reminder that you should only send it to the same wallet address as litecoin to litecoin?

Dont know if this one works but there are some people who had tried it out: https://imgur.com/gallery/M5Lah

Here are some similar situations on your own experience:

You can still recover those coins.

thats the Highest value reached by Litecoin back in 2017 december so How come that you bought 4 litecoin for 2000$?

and December 2018? The value of Litecoin that time is ranging from 20-30$ so when was that happened?

You better do your own research before judging someone and to me it is clear that OP is right. The value of australian dollar is higher than USD go on and check it out.

And now, my question is why OP posted this problem when it did happen 2 years ago? Maybe he thought he wouldn't recover it because he already know he sent it to the wrong address but upon searching he found hope and just like what he was thinking it's possible to recover although it needs an impossible task to recover first.

Sadly, those coins are gone forever I guess.

its impossible to recover.. And its like a free wallet which don't have any features for security such ( private key, phrases and etc),  and its been years? For sure you cannot access that wallet again unless if you have such stuff above... Because fyi ihave the same experience with yours, unfortunately all of those site that has free wallet are now cannot be reached.  All i can say probably it's a scam wallet as well so before trying to get an access in it make a search first about that wallet maybe there are some information or feedback that can help you to solve your problem..
