Title: How do i use the Trust system
Post by: Alisha-k on April 21, 2021, 10:56:24 AM
How do we use the trust system. I can see three trust systems on my profile but I'm having issues on how to use them. I might still be a newbie in the system and it might be too early for me to use this part of the forum function.

How do we use
  • positive
  • negative
  • neutral

How about the comment and feedback section how do I use them because I have plans of making the best of this forum

How do we use the trust system.

1. Click onto "Trust settings" link. You will have a list where you can add users you trust, or distrust (for distrust you put a ~ in front of user name). Don't forget to click Update
2. If you have a valid opinion on somebody, you can add your trust feedback to that user. If you consider it trustworthy, make it positive, if untrustworthy make it negative, or if you want to just inform for caution, you can make it neutral.

Positive
If you have done some transactions, businesses or the likes with the person, and you believe the person is not here to scam but can be trusted, you can trust the person, you can include a link of any reason you trust him/her.

Neutral
If you think it is not yet worth giving the person positive trust yet, you can have him neutral. If you think the user is promoting what is not that meaningful to the forum, that users are possibly at risk of losing funds, you can first have account a neutral tag.

Negative
If the person is a scammer, then his/her account is worth to be given negative trust. If promoting scam sites, then negative trust. If he/she is  planing to scam and it is obvious, you can include the link and have him/her negative trust. Any other reason a person can harm other members of this forum should result to negative trust.

  • LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191802.0)
  • You have to differentiate the Trust List and Trust Feedback. The guide of LoyceV will do help you.
  • Pay your attention on DOs and DON'Ts in that guide

You can use it as a indicator of someone's behavior in this forum, if they don't have anything then it is unknown but you can always trust high ranking members because they will lost big time if they were to cheat you, positive could be an indicator that they are good in terms of transaction online but you always have to read the positive, neutral means that you have to watch out around that user or read the reason why they were put there, negative is the first deterrent of the forum to prevent scammers from getting more victims.

Please don't blindly trust anyone here, do your own research. The rank has little to no significance to their trustworthiness, there are plenty of examples of higher ranking members getting involved in scams.

The link to LoyceV's thread documents the proper usage of the trust system fairly well. Note that the Trusted/Untrusted feedback depends on how you structure your Trust list. Do try to modify your Trust List as you go along to include/exclude people whose judgement you find accurate/inaccurate.

Aside from what the majority said in here, you also have the capability to add a flag as what you can notice when you chose Negative as the type for your feedback as well.

If your case is backed with good evidence/s, you can ask support here (Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5153445.0)) to support your flag as well.
Mostly, flags are used for really serious cases.

The least favorite color of trust for newbies is negative red. As a newbie, you need to do your best to keep negative reviews from appearing in your account.
Therefore, try to read all the forum rules slowly. Add these rules to your bookmarks.
Try to be honest on the forum, do not copy anything from the Internet, and if you want to, be sure to add a link. I have already seen you have one post.
Do not deceive anyone on the forum, take care of your reputation, and then you will bypass the red negative tags.
And over time, if you get carried away with this forum and create good and useful posts, as well as earn trust from your interlocutors, you will receive green positive reviews.
