Title: Gifting my little sister with Ethereum for her birthday
Post by: cheezcarls on April 21, 2021, 07:47:34 PM
Her birthday was just a few days ago, and I was thinking in doing something different. She already knows that I am into cryptocurrency for a long while, and she was also exploring it recently. I was asking her if she would like some Ethereum as a gift for her birthday, and she never hesitated to say yes! However, she didn't expect the amount that I've sent her.

She was expecting way less, but I sent her $100 worth of Ethereum (+$6 in gas fees) and she was all smiles thanking me for it. For me, it's such a great feeling to give her something like that, as I love her very much.

What such sweet brother you are. Congratulations to your sister for owning her first Ethereum as an investment. And also, happy birthday to her.
I hope that she'll be able to hold it until it reaches new heights in the future.

Happy birthday to her and you are a nice brother, it is good that you remembered her birthday and giving her $ 100 Ethereum is evidence of your love for her because Ethereum is one of the best currencies and this amount may double after years if she hold it.

A nice gift you made to your sister  :)

Even if nothing is ever certain (especially in crypto !!) , Ethereum still has an enormous potential and this gift you made to your little sister  could (maybe ?) provide her a providential help in several years.

This is what I wish you !

That is a heartwarming story. I give presents to the people I care about all the time but I am just waiting for the day when they become interested in crypto so I can give them that. Usually I buy people gifts with bitcoin or gift cards purchased with bitcoin and then a few weeks later the price pumps and the amount I spent on their gift is worth a lot more. This is why sometimes it is just better to give them crypto directly.

Bitcoin can be used for gifts, Valentine's gifts, shopping marketing, etc. in all countries where Bitcoin goes directly.  But sadly bitcoin is officially banned in our country so I can't pay via bitcoin on my sister's birthday even though I have a strong desire.

Happy birthday to your sister! And she is very lucky to have a brother like you.  ;D  You say that she newly started to do a research about the cryptocurrencies. And this should be a good opportunity for her to make an investment in a cryptocurrency.

Why not let her install an electrum wallet and send some bitcoins to her? Maybe in few years time, it is not anymore banned in your country, and the bitcoin's price will be already high. So even if she can't use it today, she can store it for future purposes.

This is a very commendable act from you to your sister; and believe me she is going to remember this for a very long time to come; not only was that a gift, you have also showed her the truth that the blockchain, crypto currency and decentralized finance are the future; and she would also tell her friends; one way or the other, you have been a good ambassador to crypto currency adoption lol.

Did she later asked to find out about etherum and its likes? Also, can you make a card about the happy moment and draft out an art to be an NFT ? it would be so natural.

It's good that you are exposing your little sister to blockchain and new technologies. But make sure you teach her the basics. Teach her how to keep her wallet secure. Tell her to always backup her wallet no matter how many coins she has in it. Even if its dust, tell her to create backups. Remember, those dusts might be worth thousands of dollars after few years. Make her aware of all probable frauds and scams :). Tell her not to fall for those FUDs and FOMOs. Finally, hodl (is not everything and very toxic. Tell her to sell if she wants to sell).

A good way to give her the ethereum, is by giving her a physical birthday card with the QR with the private key.

This is how will she learn to scan and move the coins to her wallet.

You can also write a wish!

What a sweet story from siblings relationship seems I was reading a novel right now, lol.
From your story, it shows she has a bit of interest in the cryptocurrency space. I just hope she won't hesitate to ask or consult the things to you if she wanna put her money in any crypto projects, ofc it would be best if you could give the advice before she asks. On top of that, you supposed to teach her the basics of how to save & protect her cryptos and not being fooled by any scam attempts out there.

Anyway, happy birthday to your sister :)

Who don’t like money as a gift here? and through cryptocurrency, that money will increase more as the market continues to go up especially ETH. You’re so sweet and I’m also hoping for my sisters to do the same thing for me, they are into trading and they successful so far, free money as gift is great, i can’t decline on this as well.

Cool bro, of course, if she knows that you are in crypto, then it's a worth to received such gifts from you. Maybe this is just the starting point of her explorer crypto. Question though, what not bitcoin?

$100 worth fo Ethereum is huge already in our country, and I wasn't expecting you to gift her with that huge amount.

Since your sister was in the process of exploring the things about crypto, then it's a good start that you give some ETH to her as part of his learning.

Hope with that ETH you have sent her, it will make room for her improvements in crypto. And if lucky, she might rewarded you a ETH in return in the future. :)

Nice experience by sharing your cryptocurrency with your sister. However, you need to still look at how your sister uses the ETH. Although the eth is hers right now, maybe it is better for you also to let her know about what's better to do and digging for more information about cryptocurrency, especially Ethereum, trading, or investment.
Yeah, crypto is something little but complex, not only about having a coin but also should know what to do and what not to do because we all know that crypto is full of risks, although we can also get high profits from it.

But once more, HBD for your sister, and let's spread more about crypto to the world  :) :D :D

It surely surprises her and appreciate it that much. It is a rare gift (for now)but soon this becoming common if we are fully engaged in crypto and when we can spend crypto anywhere. I have a plan to do that as well but I realize that person that we're going to receive has no knowledge about crypto, so it is possible that she will not be going to happy.

Sending a gift to someone we love and sees that he/she is happy, is really a great pleasure.

Happy birthday to your sister, it is nice for one to think of a special and different gift for the birthday of his sister whom he loves, this is a different kind of gift indeed, I am sure that she was very happy with this gift.
I remember the first crypto gift I saw was to two Turkish brides, where the groom gave his bride 1 BTC on the occasion of their marriage, the bitcoin value at that time was about $ 6000, I think, I do not remember exactly, but it was an expensive and special gift.

What a great gift and I think she really appreciates it now she could start her crypto journey.
Hope she could make it grow and learn to handle her money well,
Good thing that she is into crypto before you sent her that gift.

Nice idea to do a gift of crypto to a love one. Reading through your story I was thinking the person you wanted to gift to does not understand crypto because the person may not value it but the very good news is that she understands and already into cryptocurrency. That is nice and congrats to your sister, wishing her more joy and happiness plus more hodling for greater profit in the future.

She already knows that I am into cryptocurrency for a long while,

However, I was thinking you will gift her at least 5 Ethereum  ;D because you said you have been into crypto for long and that means you could own maybe part of bitcoin , altccoins especially erc20 tokens.

Happy birthday to your sister, I think instead of giving her some money you can send ETH as a birthday for even more fun.
For example 0, dd / mm
And I believe she will be happier with this.

Happy birthday to your sister, you made a good decision to gift her with ethereum. I believe her excitement is already getting larger as the value of ethereum is on the increase and a new ATH was just recorded. Ethereum is going to get much more higher and you'll be amazed at how much she'll have in that wallet in a couple of months.

So far many people think that giving gifts in physical form will be the easiest thing to remember, but you are doing quite an extraordinary thing in my opinion, because by giving him ethereum, you have indirectly taught him to invest in the  crypto world and of course your pride will increase if he is able to use ethereum as wisely as possible so that initially ethereum which is only worth $ 100 will be able to become $ 1000.
thank you friends for helping to spread the love of cryptocurrency to the people closest to us so that it will make cryptocurrency better known to many people.
Happy birthday for your sister and may God always bless him

I want to be your sister. Just kidding hehe. You should also feed you sister with your knowledge in crypto. You don't just give her fish, instead, teach her how to get fish for her own sake not relying on your gift. Maybe next time she's the one who will give you back eth and btc.

Wow, you're such a loving brother, i hope I have a brother like you so that i can also receive an Ethereum gift from you😊. Giving gift to someone you love is a happiness that you can't imagine. And you did give a unique gift for your sistet because mostly in terms of gift, it was a different material things wrap in a birthday gift wrap. That was really great!

I hope I find my cheezcarls that will provide me worth $100 ETH. Kidding. I am sure your sister is very happy with her birthday present. It is worth it not only on the moment that you gave it to her but also on the long run since ETH is a very good coin. ETH is also better than any other material things. I am sure that you can also guide her well so that she can make that ETH grow more. Well, happy to hear that you support her on what she likes. I am an only child so I have no brother or sister to turn to.

Nice gift, if I would love to receive some crypto from my brother too, lol.. but seriously, that was a good mate, you are influecing your sister and you are an effective influencer because you give her a valuable gift that if he will hold for longer or will add through accumulation, that might help her build her fortune. Hopefully your sister too fully understand the volatility of crypto and she is willing to hold, I don't want her to panic on the current situation.

wow, that was a great idea everyone gives cake and dress, but this one is unique but you have to be careful because giving him something that he is still unfamiliar with, he might sell it to a lower value or throw away the key or the wallet that you gave him, but with this gift he might be a millionaire in the future great idea I hope your sister likes it amazing.

That's good, giving eth is the same as giving money and I'm sure no one who lives in earth prefer a dang chocolate or doll over money. Would be a lot more better if you also teach your sister how the whole blockchain thingy works but honestly it's already good.
Just imagine if your sister keep your ETH for a decade turns out ETH was going up like crazy and could make some serious profit in the future. Also creating a gift in form of those physical crypto coin as collectibles with a private key within the coin could also be a really good idea.

That's a very generous gift, it's like you are giving your sister a land that will increase its value in the long run, better teach your sister to hold and accumulate so her holding will increase. I wish my siblings are interested in crypto, I could give them a little gift that they'll value.

I hope you not only give him ethereum but you can also give him more knowledge about crypto so that one days she doesn't fall into hole that can lose a lot of money
In the crypto space there are also many fraudulent holes that experienced people are sometimes not aware of, indeed providing knowledge about crypto is very much needed, but those who receive knowledge must also realize that in the crypto space there are always scams so they must be more careful in looking at it.

Wow, such a beautiful idea. You are a very loving and caring brother.  Your little sister is very lucky to have a brother like you.
All coins, including Ethereum, have a red signal today. Maybe your little sister's $100 can go down today and that's why she's upset. You should teach her some basic knowledge about crypto so that she can understand the movement of these. Anyway happy birthday to your little sister.

I think it is not too late to do this, and what the OP is doing now is something new to some, because not everyone understands what crypto is and how it benefits so far, as many people say if it is better to do it late than never to do it at all, but unfortunately right now the OP must be sad because the ethereum that was given to his younger brother recently experienced a decline in value due to the price of altcoins in a market that is plummeting :'(

Against the background of what I give to my friends and relatives, and what they give me - ethereum is quite a creative gift. However, it is not suitable for everyone, as some may not understand what a cryptocurrency is, how to use it and withdraw it to fiat money

I hope he would do that because personally giving her ethereum without educating her would be useless because if you were not going to educate her then better to give her a fiat instead.
She would definitely appreciated it if ever your younger sister had already an idea about it plus advantage of having the thought that the younger sister of yours know how to trade or manage a crypto coin then it was much appreciated.
