In my opinion, the calls of the author of the title post are somewhat categorical. Why should we sell all our cryptocurrency right now? Why should bitcoin drop so much? Why will it cost exactly $ 5,000? Why does the author think it is safe? Yes, Bitcoin can be considered to be somewhat overbought. Yes, you need to have enough fiat in your portfolio. But replacing all bitcoin and cryptocurrency with fiat is a pretty heady decision. What if Bitcoin starts to rise tomorrow? And if Bitcoin is worth $ 300,000 in a year?

Bitcoin will not hit $500k or $1million because of the news and neither it will return $5000.

Investing is always involving risk, but I'd rather choose risk than a depreciated asset. Holding fiat always makes you poor because of the inflation as a result of printing money without limitation. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is capped at 21mil while people' demand increase daily.

In the first place though, I (and probably most people) have never used the news as a basis to judge if Bitcoin would hit a set price or something. Idk about others, but I just think of Bitcoin as something better than fiat. Not saying that fiat is useless,  it's a case-by-case basis, but just judging by the potential between the two? I'd vote for Bitcoin on any other day.

OP saying that Bitcoin would go to $5000 is the same as the news saying that BTC would hit $1mil, so what's the difference between you and the news? I'd rather say that Fiat has no future ngl, with how the government has handled and managed it to this date.

Institutions are very happy and willing to buy your Bitcoin at very cheap prices. They are thankful then.
To be honest, this kind of scenario from you is doing of weak hands, not diamond hands, a panic seller for sure.

this isnt new so i wont expect it to move anyone. bitcoin movement is not one sided. i dont expect it to go up and not come down. the fiat you have is flying away and you cant survive with it. investing in an asset that has high profitable probability is one of the saving grace from inflations. either bitcoin drops to 5000$ or not, we will keep holding till my target is reached for profitable freedom.

Have you checked the price of bitcoin !If so, you can't bet the price to 5000$.And struggled to prove a statement of 90 percentage loss in the price of bitcoin. It was a extreme statement, people won't believe that.

Really small chance to $5000 maybe to $40000 still possible, but that small price means bitcoin is in danger (my personal opinion) or maybe banned from a lot of big countries in this world. Or maybe there are problem with bitcoin's chain so transaction get problem all over the world and people sell it or maybe change to another cryptocurrency.

Then who will believe in you, yes bitcoin may dump because of some news but not to the point that it will hit up to $5000, that is too low and too far from $50000 maybe bitcoin will just dump for about $40000 but still, it can recover so let's just hold our bitcoin, I am still hoping and believing that bitcoin can reach $100000 within this year. I mean think about a person who has been around for a while, OP created his account in 2017 and he has been around for nearly 3.5 years now and he knows about bitcoin well enough. Nobody in their right mind would assume fiat is a good alternative to any investment. Fiat is not the best alternative. The value of your fiat will keep depreciating when they do print more.  

You can sell your BTC but don't put all your coins into fiat, you could buy just about anything and spend your money on something useful or food supply. Or probably invest in physical gold or silver. Everything is wrong with our government already and we have seen the money printing effect in this short period of time. If you have no plans yet just keep your BTC instead.

$5,000 is totally unreasonable and unsupported by facts, math, science, and logical mathematic calculations. Bitcoin will fall much, much further than $5,000. You have to stop being so unreasonably bullish and just look at the facts.

You can really see these type of people who do even claim that bitcoin would go to zero or much like that without having any solid basis or back up with those claims.

For fiat, of course it won't go away, it will remain the dominant force in the world economics. But bitcoin is the new gold, the best hedge for inflation, companies are putting their assets on bitcoin. Tesla prove it can be done and then sell some to make more profit. And the rest of the companies should think about it because is a win-win situation for them.

Also, don't forget to borrow lots of fiat at high rates of interest compounded daily and spend it on overpriced consumer products.

This thread is clear evidence that there is always a FUD regarding Bitcoin, but usually if Bitcoin falls in price, then more and more FUDs about Bitcoin
will emerge. We have to be patient with this kind of thing, because usually all FUD about Bitcoin will disappear by itself if the Bitcoin price recovers.

$5,000 to me is really a bizarre price for bitcoin after skyrocketing over $64,000. Coins have gone up and came miserably down but because we are talking about bitcoin, it will certainly make investors lose interest and those negative rumour mongers that say bitcoin is a bubble would have more impetus to say more nasty things. Bitcoin won't go that low IMO, we can have some corrections but as low as that is not what I can determine anyway.

Looking at your posting history you have not been posting at all on the forum for almost three years and you come back for this? What is your goal? Did you bought at the end of 2017 and were burned because of the crash we saw and now you hate bitcoin because of it?

I agree that bitcoin is strong and to be honest, it won't go down lower than 5k anytime soon because it will continue to get big in the long run and a lot of companies are hodling for the long term which means that the supply isn't going to go up any time soon.

If you really think its going to $5000 then there is a way you can easily make big money off it. Just go to Deribit and buy some puts. Currently you can buy a $12000 Put for only $150

So what that means is that if BTC is $5000 by the end of the year that put option would be worth $7000. So a small $150 investment would yield at least $7000. So if you are so convinced that it will hit $5000 this is a great way to put your money where your mouth is instead of creating FUD for no reason.

I’m a risk taker so I’m not probably near selling. I believe Bitcoin has future compare to fiat, fiat has descending value. If you keep your $100 in a bank for five years it will not grow but if you buy $100 worth of BTC now you might grow your money in 5 years.

Regret always comes last, if you will keep getting stuck in the past then nothing will happen. Bitcoin has still a lot to grow so buying it at its current price is not a bad choice. If you still hesitate, then just wait for it until it hits 6 digit mark.

I agree that if we buy bitcoin for $100 now and hold it for 5 years later, we can see that value will increase but we also see that the value can get down temporary to adjust the price.
We need to manage our emotion when the price is down so we can see if we have a chance to use the moment for our benefits.
It will need self-control and the right management to make the right decision.

That is why it is better for us to take all the opportunities as much as we can. Bitcoin has a lot more room to grow in fact it is just starting, if you think it is too late to buy then imagine if became 6 digits soon. Though it doesn't matter when you will buy but do it early as possible for you to maximize your profit. And if you think you bought it at a higher price, you don't need actually panic and sell it when the bull cycle ends because it will once get it back on its feet and grow even further. You could also purchase when some corrections occurs though. Just do it now so you wouldn't regret it later.

I like the title says "fiat is the best alternative", that is really cool. Think about it, in his mind, fiat is the "alternative", and here I am thinking bitcoin was the alternative for fiat all along! :D. All jokes aside we all know bitcoin is not going to 5k, even if we have a huge crash the price is not going to 5k, its impossible.

However let me tell you the time I talked with an accountant who was great in finance game and made a lot of money from stock trading as well, he believed bitcoin will become zero and eventually everyone will get out. Why? Because he believed "it has no value, so it worths nothing" and as you can believe, just like every other old heads who believe that something needs to have a physical value behind it, something that supports that price, otherwise it means nothing. That was 5 years ago, we had 2 huge bull runs (one in 2017 and one this year) since he said that and we peaked at 64k, if he invested he could have made x100+ from bitcoin.

Common behavior of most investors that do easily doubt or aren't sure on how they should deal with the volatility and its not a surprising thing.

Those two are very different things. The cause of the drop may not be a FUD related thing, it could be a correction, it could be people taking profit, it could be a huge whale that owned billions end up selling, it could basically be anything that caused it. Unless you find each and every bitcoin sold and ask the owners why they sold, you will never know the "real" reason why it dropped so much it is not possible.

They are just looking at the past heavy bearish season where bitcoin drop at $3k+ level, but if we really look or compare the situation on the past we can say that the last Bull run is pure bubble but now we have if not great amazing backing of big institution so no wonder we cannot see the predicted price. And I will not easily believe that fud since its normal now many want to buy cheap so they creating bad news just to make people panic.

I first registered to this forum 9 years ago, in 2012. When I made my first post here, the price of Bitcoin was $10 per coin. Ever since then, I am witnessing such threads. Nine years have passed and there is no shortage of FUD here. And during the same time, the Bitcoin prices went up from $10 to $60,000. People like me had their lives changed for the better, thanks to Bitcoin. If I had believed in such posts back then in 2012, then I would still be leading a hand to mouth existence. Bitcoin gave me respect in the society. 

Shouting a person who himself created and branded a coin in the last bull run, slept for 3 years, came back from the dead, and directly telling everyone here to sell their BTC.

as investors must be clever in analyzing any information. Not all information is true or accountable. Sometimes the information is just an issue or a trap for Batman to compete in trading. regarding bitcoin going down to the price of $ 5000 is wrong and very unlikely.

I agree that this is the most likely explanation to what we are seeing on this thread, but even if the price is indeed going down his prediction is completely wrong, the growth that we have seen so far while impressive is not as big in terms of proportion to what we saw on 2017.

This means that in the case we in fact see a crash the price is still not going to be as bad as he is making it out to be, the absolutely worst we are going to see is 20k and since the growth was still kind of limited then I think a more realistic price will be 30k and even that is doubtful as I doubt the bull run is over yet.

That is the thing that individuals said in 2018, and exactly the same thing rehash. Every dump is artificial and won't take too long either.
Anyway, I think you intended to say Bitcoin won't ever be this cheap again.

Before long it won't ever be this expensive again.
