However, you have to add the TAG provided with the deposit address if you want to send to an exchange. The TAG as known for Ripple network is a feature that allows the attach of a specific identifier to a specific transaction, for security reasons.

We rarely find XRP wallets that don't use tags. Because most XRP wallets don't have tags, for example the Ledger wallet. While the XRP wallet on the exchange is only one wallet for everyone. What distinguishes one exchange account from another is only in Tag or memo. Maybe you can only exchange it for someone who has a Ledger wallet. |
