I recently got an Asus 1660 Super Phoenix version, so it's a single fan gpu. With 60% fan it reaches 67C. Is it bad? I haven't installed any 12cm case fan yet, but I will. Will the Arctic F12 1350rpm fans help the temperatures stay lower in a rig? I thought the temperatures will be higher  than 2-3 fan versions of cooling, but I think its a bit high... :( at least the card was a good deal.

With hynix memory it hashes 31.67 with 85W in hiveos. I tried to lower the power limit to 70% but it stays on 85W according to hiveos.

What do you think guys? Brand new card with 3 years of warranty, I bought it only for mining. Will it tolerate these temps?

Since the GPU is brand new you must be living in a hot whether country or there is no good space for fresh air where you put the mining rig, I'd say adjust the fan a little bit to reduce the °C, though 67°C isn't bad but for a brand new card I expect 56 to 60°C max temp

Some new GPUs comes with crappy thermal pads, if you can go extra length for the GPU buy some high grade thermal pads and replace them yourself, I have 5x gtx1660 super from zotac, the thermal pads are crap after few weeks of using they release some wet substance on the GPU and it causes display to flicker until I changed the thermal pad and I noticed they are more cooler than before

My hynix gtx1660 super draws only 75watts max, use MSI afterburner to lower the power limit to the minimum and you will notice the difference fast, everything about hynix gtx1660s is lowering everything to the lowest, including memory clock and core clock

67 is not hot.
It is hot for human but for silicon is not.

That is a known to be a hot card.

You can bump fan to 65% see what it does.

You can get away with 75% on the fan for long use.

 I had one for 2 years it worked fine I sold it in Feb.

I would try it with 65 ,70,75 fan speeds and see how that helps

And it does pull a bit extra juice just like mine did.

I'm from a hot whether country so I use gtx1660 supers and ti, had to keep fan speed at 65% to maintain 58°C temp, I believe you can do the same thing, those cards are pretty cool but my RX580 have to be at 75% fan speed to get 60°C 24/7, AMD cards are always hotter lol

Thanks for the replies! I will take a look at the thermal pads. The rig is on a shelf close to the ceiling in a corner so I guess the heat is trapped there. Finally I found a nice config for it on hiveos forum with these settings:

core 930
mem -1004
fan: 60

The card's consumption reduced by 10W , and 5°C cooler, which makes it 61-62°C, which is far better. In a few days I will install 3-4 Arctic F12 to blow the trapped heat away, so maybe the temp will be under 60°C. In that case the Asus Phoenix 1660 Super is a very good budget solution for mining in my opinion.

You aren't seen the real cooling of this card, reduce the core to -502, the minimum and also the memory clock to the minimum you will see better cooling, I've never reached 60°C with this card before when mining 24/7

Remove core, not memory. And if you have a new GPU don`t change thermal pads. Firstly, it isn`t a trouble, if the temperature about 60-65C. My 1070 worked 4 years at 70C and had not any problems. Second - just set fans to fixed percent - about 60-70% and i think you will get a nice result.

Since the GPU has hynix memory just lower everything using MSI afterburner, I have 6x of these cards from zotac and they are all hynix so the MSI afterburner settings is -502 for core clock and -502 for mem clock, I get 32MH all each of the cards

I remember this feature with core but didn`t try it with memory. And power consumption changes or same? It seems strange if it will use about 50wt and gives 32mh.
But in anyway thx for information, it is surely interesting and useful.

It actually works, only the hynix gtx1660 super behaves this way, crank everything way down and see the magic, I'm getting 31.8MH on mine too, very low power consumption, it won't hurt if you try  ;)

Thanks! After everything I think this card is a nice budget card for mining. And of course I can order a fan from aliexpress if it goes off.
