Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in the Saturday Night Live monologue that he gives Dogecoin to Maye Musk as a Mother's Day gift.
His mother claimed she could not wait for his gift. But he hoped it would not be Meme coin.

Pop singer Miley Cyrus began the episode with the song "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" by Dolly Parton, which she dedicated to all mothers.
Musk referred to his vision of the future world as a multi-planetary civilization, electric cars and mental health issues.
The billionaire also talks about weeding in Joe Rogan's podcast, and jokes about O.J. Simpson spoke, wondering if our reality could be as close to computer simulation during his opening monologue.
The "Dogefather" also said that his favorite meme coin was going to take over the world.

I've always liked doge and think it's actually more useful as a currency than bitcoin is in so far as transaction fees are low and confirmation times are fast--but this current euphoria about it is a little bit strange to me.  And damn, I never ever would have expected doge to be worth as much as it is today.  Wish I'd held onto all the doge I once owned, but I just didn't think it was a coin that would do well over the long term.

Anyway, I don't care what Elon Musk gives his mom for mother's day, but the fact that dogecoin was mentioned on a show like SNL is significant IMO.  That should tell you how mainstream crypto has gotten in the minds of the average Johnny Lunchbox on the street, else nobody would have gotten the joke.  That's pretty cool.

So this is why Dogecoin jump down and now, the price stays at the lowest price ;D

If he gives his mother Bitcoin, maybe Dogecoin can increase and hit $1 ;D

But I do not think much about that because shorting Dogecoin while at a high peak will be the best thing for me to profit after selling my Dogecoin at a high price.

Dogecoin is definitely the object of jealousy of all other crypto coins right now probably including Bitcoin ;D oh how adorable and pampered it is!

It is quite overvalued even though it can be used more widely than bitcoin in daily transaction. I guess being a meme coin does not give it too many opportunities to rise and become an important blockchain. Right now, people is selling it but nothing guarantee that it will not create a new ATH

Giving Elon Musk a chance to speak on mainstream is a significant event. Besides, social media is big enough for this man to create influence around the world, not just on a television channel

Dogecoin was never a bad one. It's cheap, useful, and I think it's still used pretty often for gambling, so it deserves not to be totally worthless. However, the fact that it's not under serious maintenance because it wasn't meant as a serious project is potentially alarming because if critical bugs can be discovered and remain unfixed somewhere, it would be with a coin like dogecoin.
Musk is getting the most of it and is clearly enjoying himself, and doge costs way too much nowadays. However, I think it's fine that it got all this attention because that's just how a truly free market with unregulated prices works.

Unfortunately, some number of Doge fans will miss the joke and will think that he really gifted her some dogecoins. Because that's exactly how all this thing started - people started believing in Elon's memes that he will make Dogecoin the currency of Mars, or will at least accept it for his products or something, all while he never even confirmed that he owns any coins. Traders and speculators took it as opportunity to start the pump, and retail investors have picked it up, especially since the whole GME meme drama was so recent, and it's easy to draw parallels.

I think the SNL show was positive for dogecoin with Elon musk making of promise of gift with dogecoin to the mum on mother's Day. I have watched dogecoin drop to 0.43 in the last 24 hours for the show but it is beginning to rise back and I believe that's because of the promise made that investors are buying to hodl.


This is like another Elon musk pumping dogecoin lol. But really those are the good spots for dogecoin, it has a fast speed and delivery.

The strange thing is that everyone expected the Dogecoin coin to fly to the moon after this theatrical meeting of Elon Musk and his mother, especially after he surprised everyone by presenting a Dogecoin gift to his mother, but the event was completely opposite, as the Dogecoin coin fell to its lowest level since it began to skyrocket.
I do not know what happened, but I was frankly surprised by what happened, as many did, but it seems that Dogecoin is gradually recovering its value and starting to rise again.
Elon Musk has become the godfather of the meme, and every word or statement of it makes a very strong movement on the Dogecoin, up or down.

And if I may add, SpaceX just announced that they will accept doge as payment for lunar mission next year - https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/spacex-accepts-dogecoin-payment-launch-lunar-mission-next-year-2021-05-09/ . So this may be another booster deal for doge and it may help in recovering its price or better yet, surpass the previous ATH of $0.73.

They believe on everything Elon Musk says, especially DOGE on going to the moon and I don't know the real benefit of that into DOGE platform aside from the hype. Many of my friends are burned out already because of the recent dump on DOGE, they're greedy and now they are paying the huge price for that. If Elon is giving her mother a DOGE, then so be it that is not a good progress with DOGE after all, people should already know this.

It looks as if Elon is trying really hard to manipulate the Dogecoin prices. But I am getting hints that the rally is about to end. Yesterday's flash crash, when the prices dipped by 40% was a red flag for anyone planning to invest in Dogecoin. During the last 12 months, the prices for Doge has increased by more than 20,000%, without any real change in the usage. A cryptocurrency can't go up like this just because of hype. Sooner or latter the bubble is going to burst and those who make their investment at peak prices are going to lose their money.

He is a visionary about our civilization, I give him that but realistically, we haven't tapped yet the full potential of our world and we are probably going to go extinct before we can become an interplanetary civilization with this nukes on the midst. That is a pretty wholesome gift in my opinion, because if you look at it, it's like a kid giving his mother a gift that the kid really likes. Now if this story about Elon giving DOGE to his mother then you should probably start investing in DOGE since this isn't going to be the last time that someone is going to pump that coin.

So Elon is back with his manipulative tactics? Yesterday I was checking the prices and I could see a decline of 40% in the Dogecoin exchange rates. And just when it looked like Dogecoin prices may crash further, Elon came up with his latest tweet, which pumped the prices and reduced the net loss. My question is, for how long he is going to manipulate the prices like this? And for how much time the SEC is just going to sit back and silently watch what is going on? I have to say that Elon is walking on a tightrope here.

the SNL didn't make the pump to make it $1 and instead, it goes down instead to the lowest $0.42 it still goes up though. doge had been mentioned several times in the show and it really is good marketing for doge.

I'm buying more doge because this guy somehow had convinced me.

No one know for sure whether we could make it, to be interplanetary civilization but we can definitely do both thing, maximizing the potential of our world while also tapping to be interplanetary civilization and even better if crypto technology was essential for that to happen considering I can't imagine using paper money in mars for those people in the future who gonna resides there and yeah, the doge hype definitely not gonna end this month, there's still many waves of elon's shill and doge massive pump so people better be prepared, though I definitely gonna avoid touching such volatile coin, i'm fine with the other coins that aren't as volatile.

We can't do it to be honest, with the current political and societal standing, I don't think that humanity has what it takes to survive in the next 2 centuries, we are too busy building walls around our borders, people who help others are overshadowed by greedy people, tensions in politics around the world are running high, in short we are on a tight rope. If we ever come to the point where we are on a Cowboy Bebop era, I am sure that paper money is going to be a rarity.

Isn't it funny that the influence of one man could cause a coin to pump? Truth be told, Elon Musk is a major influencer of the crypto market especially Dogecoin.
Now, I don't know his true intentions for shilling this coin but whatever it is, Musk is doing a good work at it.
And talking about Musk himself, I'd say he's quite ambitious and I wouldn't write his ambitions off as being impossible. All of the inventions that were ever made have been thought off has been utterly impossible at some time. If he believes we can have a multi-planetary civilization, the I believe it can happen, although it might take some time.

Nonsense. Dogecoin went as high as 70 cents and corrected itself shortly. It's current price itself is enough to justify the fact that Musk had a big hand in helping it pump recently in the short-term.

Expecting it to rise even further after such a humungous pump recently is hilarious in my opinion. Expecting a cryptocurrency to pump everytime a celebrity makes statements related to it is stupidity in my opinion.

It is not only one man, but his word has a lot of influence. In my understand Elon Musk is the general and the reddit users from Wallstreet bets are the foot soldiers. We shouldn't forget that he owns two highly successful companies and even his first big company PayPal is a behemoth today. He seems to definitely has a lucky hand.

I guess the reason why Elon Musk chose Dogecoin to support is that Dogecoin’s team are also geeks and most of them stay in Silicon Valley where Elon stays most of the time, as well.

Besides that, Elon Musk is no fan of formal brand or company business name. He doesn’t care how stupid your name and where you based it, as long as he sees what you do and that is the only thing that matters to Elon, action not words.

Just imagine one of his companies was named (The Boring Company), but the actions, products, and services that the company offers are beyond its name. They are too exciting in contrast to their name.

Looking at how dogecoin has been manipulated, all those tactics even this Mother's day celebration has been contributed with the hype.

No wonder dogecoin as a meme is some kind of potentially altcoin now. Especially this new tweet of EM about satellite thing that can be paid off in dogecoin, for sure it will eventually goes up again soon.

That's right, but I'm not 100% sure Elon Musk can predict the price will continue to grow this year, A few days I saw from the post on Elon Musk's twitter but nothing bad happened from Doge. A decline of a few percent to date. Maybe because he is an influencer it triggers people to be interested in buying large quantities when the price is still small. But at least I didn't miss out on buying some Doge to get the results. Don't forget to take this opportunity to see these coins to the moon.

I watched this in Livestream and I must say it is entertaining. After the fact that I believe Elon is just that kind of person and with all his part in the skits and the way he speaks, it's just like he is perfect for comedy lol, like he mentioned in there.

Anyway, the scene where her mom said that line, I was shocked in a way because I saw it coming when she said "present" and immediately, I remember that it ran into $0.7 then back down immediately to $.6 in a minute. It's just that fast

I think a lot of people expected something more from it but that's just it. Couple of mentions of Doge with different skits and a jab and the "hustle" here and there. It's basically spreading the word of doge to the public with the audience that SNL has. Being it a comedy show, it is perfect with the theme of Doge as well.

Isn't funny how Elon Musks shilling of Dogecoin had made a big impact to the crypro and what is more thing about was people are believing him, believing any recommendations or insights he have especially on cryptocurrency.

He really have a lot of charm  to attract new investors for Doge, really a major influencer that lift up dogecoins exhange market rate.
If giving a dogecoin to his mother is what he thinks the best mother's day gift he could give to his mother then it isn't bad at all.
