Title: Some company paid with Doge for SpaceX to deliver a satellite. Big deal!
Post by: virtualdn on May 09, 2021, 08:45:15 PM
They could have paid with Zimbabwe Dollars as well.

Why don't we see real world projects using Dogecoin except the ones from Elon Musk? Because he's the only one pushing this coin, this is why. And people say it's not manipulation, really, what is is then? A bad joke, this is what it is. He destroyed this coin which was really fun before he took over it and now he's using it as a toy for his own narcissistic pleasure.

Probably yes for pleasure.

I've watched him on an interview and aware of it that Doge is just for fun, a meme crypto.

But I think he wants to prove something that despite it being made as a meme, if there's a will from the community to make it worthy as a cryptocurrency whether as an investment or medium of exchange, it can be done.

This is indeed true. There's some company called Geometric Energy that is funding the trip with payment done in Dogecoin to SpaceX.
They are literally sending dogecoin to the moon. "This mission will demonstrate the application of cryptocurrency beyond Earthorbit and set the foundation for interplanetary commerce" as said by the sales manager of Space X.

That's quite interesting, but I disagree with OP. Why do you think Musk "destroyed" the coin? He essentially created a lot of millionaires and talking about manipulation, well I guess there is hardly any cryptocurrency that is not manipulated.

Sure I agree in that sometimes it is obvious manipulation that I wondered whether he will ever get into trouble with the laws.
