Title: Seed recovery BCH missing/hidden?!?! Post by: getseriousaboutcrypto on May 11, 2021, 08:28:24 AM I purchased a Ledger Nano (I believe S) in 2018 and stored some BCH on it. Unfortunately, my Ledger Nano screen broke and I'm unable to access it. To solve this I used my seed phrase to recover my wallet to Electron Cash. However, Electron Cash is displaying my BCH balance as 0. Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated. :)
PS. I know the BCH is still there as I used a blockchain explorer to look up my public address and it shows the coins were transferred in and never transferred out Title: Re: Seed recovery BCH missing/hidden?!?! Post by: hosseinimr93 on May 11, 2021, 08:55:47 AM Is your wallet synced?
There's a circle at bottom left corner of the window. Is that circle green? And are you sure that you imported the correct seed? Go to "Addresses" tab and check if you see your address there or not. Note that addresses shown in "Addresses" tab are in "cash" format (addresses starting with q). If your address is in legacy format (addresses starting with 1), go to "Address Converter" tab to see the other format of your address. If "Addresses" and "Address Converter" tabs are not available, you can click on "Tools" at top of the window and make them shown. Title: Re: Seed recovery BCH missing/hidden?!?! Post by: Pmalek on May 11, 2021, 01:07:05 PM I have never used Electron Cash, but could it be an issue with the wrong derivation path? Do you still have Ledger Live? Can you run it, access your account (you don't need your hardware wallet for that), click on the gear icon or settings, and check what the derivation path of your account is?
If not, I think Ledger uses m/44'/145'/0'/ for bitcoin cash, at least that's what is being suggested on reddit. |
