Have seen people who are not rich but are still respected by people. This set of people are just special because of the life style they exhibit. What gives this set of people respect is
cleanliness - they are always  neat, even if they always put on a particular cloth
reserve they don't roll with everyone around them
intergrety always stand for the truth
Bold do not feel intimidated, believe in theirself

Be real, never try to hid something from others and help people with all your good thoughts.
I am not rich either but people in my place respect for what i am and even ask for my opinion in their important decision making.

I earn the respect over the years as i am living here for more than 10 years now and it is not easy to earn such .

Try to behave like a human then this world will give respect to you, the respect comes from money may not last long but its not so easy to get the respect just because of being simplicity, you may be even recognized after you are no more in this world.

But life is a one time offer so just live as how you want, don't sacrifice it for someone's opinion.

You would be respected when you earn it don't demand or ask for it.
It is better to be respected truly than to only show you a fake respect when you're around.
You could earn it by also giving respect to others and being true to your words,
There are so many ways to earn their respect it isn't just about the money.

In my opinion, only honesty makes us able to get respect from other people, even though we are poor and don't have much money.
But if we always attach importance to honesty above all else. I believe 100% we can get respect from other people.
Because nowadays it is very difficult to find someone who is honest, it is not easy to be someone who always tells the truth.

Respect from others is nothing if you don't feel it inside yourself.

Spend time with people who really care about you.
Don't ever allow yourself to be "used".
Never allow anyone to treat you like a doormat.
Always be careful who you let into your life, make sure they are the right people!

The bottom line is respect is earned, not given. Now, it's up to you to put those lessons into action.

They also respect others and that's why they get the same respect that they give to them.

It's no rocket science how to be respected even if you're just a simple person as they say. You don't need to be rich to get the respect that you want. Just like the famous quote about begetting respect, that's all you need to do.

The best saying in my opinion is to treat others the way you want to be treated yourself. If you don't show respect to others they wing show you respect either. So it's best to respect every human and be kind to them. I strongly believe in karma. Also there is a difference between having respect and being afraid of someone. Just because some has a lot of money and is powerful, doesn't mean that he is respected.

Respect cannot be gain by How much but this is given Heartfully for us so Even what you said yet it is not considerably and appropriate to compare respect and Money at all.

Show people that you understand them? then this will be the best way to receive respect .;

Agreed with all the points you listed.To me the best thing to do in order to gain respect is to always mind your own business and stop caring about what other people are doing. lastly don't beg for anything no matter how poor you are try and manage your resources to avoid humiliation from anyone.

Just be yourself, if people don’t like you for who you are then it’s their loss. Be confident but friendly, treat people nicely, how you like to be treated.

You want to be respected by people, the first thing you have to respect everyone first. And live sincerely without deceiving, cheating. How do you treat everyone, you'll get it again.

Honor requires honesty and when you value the time of others others will value your time as well. If necessary go ahead and wait don't waste time talking nonsense when you go to work with someone and don't waste time when you see someone busy it will strengthen your personality, and people will value your words and deeds more everyone respects people with personality. Being personal does not mean being serious all the time personality means having a work ethic with words and not wasting other people's and one's time on worthless work.

In real life respect and money both are separate, but for many selfish people its more about higher the money they will respect more to them. Else just be nice to people, speak in a good manner and respect others so naturally you get back the respect. Just be yourself and do not lie which breaks the trust and relationship.

Stop trying to get validated by people. Live your own way, do whatever you want, stop being too self-conscious.

Being honest is one of many ways you can get respect from others because if you can go honest with them, that will be important and will above everything. I prefer that, and whether we have money or not, you will be respected by people.

That's it, you will never die by not pleasing all of them instead you will only shorten your life thinking how to please them.

I think power commands respect.
I guess if you have lots of money but behave weak, people will probably not give you much respect.
This is part of the reasons certain rulers try to look larger than they actually are. If you properly decentralize power they will likely try to behave humble, fearing the subject instead.

To have True Power (the one from our CREATOR) you have to be humble or become servants to those you are leading. Such humble leaders always look powerless/poor and the subjects could take advantage of the humility and start disrespecting the leaders. The humble leaders are encouraged to be patient with the subjects. But, you have to be careful the humble leaders don't get too angry, if they do, the earth could shake in a ways that make the subjects quickly realize the Great Power the humble leaders have.

money can't buy everything...

those with integrity, simplicity, and fear of nothing must have a special place in society. while those who are servants of money will always get despised treatment in society.

I think it is hard to judge someone just by their bank account, but many people do it nonetheless. Money alone won't earn respect, it depends also on how it is earned. Let say someone wins millions in a lottery, then people probably will not really respect him, but rather try to be his friend to get some of his money. The same goes for young people who inherited a lot of family money. The only real respect I would give for people who actually worked hard for their wealth and got it by their own doing, not only luck or being born in the right family.

But having money and being used in the right way to help the helpless and less fortunate, that will make you respect them.

Not for having the money but for caring for them during the times that they need a helping hand.

Money cannot buy wisdom and wisdom earns the respect of kings. Seek wisdom and you will earn respect but you will do well to remember that all respect starts with self respect.

Being honest can give you happiness, and you will not have a problem in the future. We can search for money, but being honest needs an effort, and that is not easy, to be honest.

This is a very good quote, it means a lot to me. Because sometimes without us realizing money has blinded the eyes of our hearts.
We always think of money as king, and must have money to be respected. Though there are still other things that can make us respected,
and we don't have to have money to be respected. Wisdom is something that everyone should have, because by being a wise person,
it will make us in the respect of others.

Help Others Try to be more helpful for others

You can help others and in this way the other person will give you respect. Only Money only give you artificial respect. You can respect from heart if you are polite and helpful.

I believe you can command respect by having some good values as honesty and integrity. Always speaking and standing by the truth, not having double standards can make you respected even when you do not have money

It is important to be kind to people, kind to yourself and kind to your community in order to get respect and t maintain a good reputation.
Having a good reputation makes the world trust you.Be the type of person who can be trusted. If people trust you, they are willing to do anything for you.

If anybody treats you differently based on how much money you have or don’t have tgen they’re not worth bothering with. You certainly shouldn’t bother about what these people think.

People will pay you respect if you're that type of person. Being honest and having integrity will make them look at you with all respect.

In our neighborhood, you don't have to have that much money to be respected. Because most of the people living in here are honest to each other.

Plus one this. We can leave them without any feeling because they are free to say anything to other people or us. What we need is to prove to ourselves that we are not bad as they thought. Sooner or later, if we succeed, they will see that we have the potential to have a better life than them. Once they know it, they will regret treating us like that, and I think they will apologize to us (if they are kind and want to know their mistake).

I think it's very easy, you need to be a good, polite person, true to your word, and then people will respect you.

I agree with the author, but not in everything! This is my purely personal opinion ... Cleanliness is neat, but now it is least looked at. Now everyone is just looking at the thickness of the wallet, the cost of clothes, shoes, phone, car, house and more. And what to do in this case?

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'There is one other reason for dressing well, namely that dogs respect it, and will not attack you in good clothes.' 

So for him it is to dress well will earn respect at least from dogs.

There's a deeper meaning to it. It's not just about your physical appearance. But if you're going to put a better meaning on it.

It's about how you live well and how you're going to show yourself not just in clothes but how you're going to treat others well.

My words but wisdom is revered in scripture. Wisdom is not to be confused with sanitised knowledge as there are countless educated fools upon the earth. Wisdom can be given and taken and is a charisma from the Almighty that comes through life giving knowledge of his precepts and not the sanitised academic or gnostic precepts of foolish men. Wisdom begins with a man's humility to see his own life (not the lives of others) as worthless without the presence of the Almighty and to be in the presence of the almighty a man must reject what separates him from such a presence (sin). Only the humble find his favour and those who seek harm upon those who are in his favour will not go unpunished. God demands mercy not sacrifice and to the merciful wisdom is freely given  ..Most welcome..

What are you even saying?? When one have money people will give you respect and be loyal to you. Family people will always listen to you even if it is rubbish you are saying

If you have a lot of money and you can be generous to all people, not just for rich people but for poor people, you will make more respect because you can treat them equally, not because they have "something." So I agree that honest people will respect more than people who use the money to get respect. People will see if we can treat people well to know if we deserve to get respect.

indeed, respect cannot be bought by money . though in some plastic person they can pretend to be respecting you with money but they are not.

I have met people that would never normally speak to me, but because I can prove myself and my integrity, they choose to make me part of their social circle. It's sad that money can put you in such a position where you feel that you can just buy respect, but you can't.

Even though you are not rich or dont have money but you are a good person I think people will respect you.yeah right cleanliness not only in physicaly but with your whole life.without committing such a sin or without any bad habit .this will gain you respect from others..be good,be nice and be honest all of good qualities they shown you will gain respect.

There's no perfect person but that's for sure that there will be people that you shall receive respect from them if you're the type of guy that's very helpful and respectable to them.

Getting respect depends on who you want respect from. In prison, it could mean standing up for yourself and putting up a good fight against someone who is talking down to you. Of course, you might get stabbed or jumped and killed in retaliation. In other situations, you could gain respect by simply going to work on time every day and giving your best effort and not causing any problems.

Some professions like Teaching will earn you respect and money. Though money involved is less, but you will earn tremendous respect.

Cleanliness is necessary even if it doesn't get you respect, respect is somewhat personality based and can't be comprehended through words.

It is necessary whether you want to be respected or not, we should maintain our cleanliness everywhere.

Not just personality based but it's everything that you do that will get the same result if you respect others.

The fact is even people with lots of wealth aren't respected just because they have so much money. Pure Respect is not a thing which is obtained according to wealth, it depends entirely on one's behavior, views, values, perspective towards other things and people around them. Good deeds are always rewarded with respect. And that doesn't always require money.

Good deeds can indeed earn us respect, it's a natural thing to happen. Therefore, honor is not always seen from the amount of
wealth we have. But how many good deeds we have done for others. Therefore, since childhood, we usually teach by our parents
to do good things, it means that we can get respect from other people.

Having a lot of money is okay. But if you do not share with people who are needed, you will not earn respect from them. Yeah it is not respect that you can buy but the people itself that pretends giving you a respect.

There is an scenario in my life that at some point i did need badly some help and i have come to my relatives and friends but none has the funds i need.

and there was this neighbor that comes to rescue and i did respect him from then till now.
