Title: Some questions about the Trust Wallet.
Post by: hack3rcon on May 17, 2021, 12:17:04 PM
Hello,
I installed the Trust Wallet and need help about its swap option.
Is TRON the gas of the Trust Wallet?
Trust Wallet just can swap ERC20 tokens? I can't see TRON in the swap list!

Thank you.

If you don't find it, you have to set it manually. You follow it

1.You click here in the arrow direction

2.You click and type here TRX in the arrow direction

3.You click here from the arrow and turn on this button

4.Go back to the main menu and TRX/TRON add here

CMIIW.

I did tried to use that wallet and when I'm swapping a BSC token, it is requiring me the BNB-smart chain. And that would probably be the same with Ethereum for ERC20 and TRX for TRC20 tokens.

Not exactly since it depends on the tokens that you are going to swap. Tron (TRX) is just one of the coins supported by Trust Wallet and this wallet is owned by Binance.

I've seen a BEP20 version of TRX but not an ERC20. You should probably use their exchange when trying to buy the native TRX coin.

All BEP20 tokens will require BNB-smart chain token to pay the fee without it transaction will get cancelled. Trust wallet is multi-cryptocurrency wallet, which means you can use it store almost all kind of cryptocurrency.

For ERC20 tokens you need gas (ether) to complete any transaction. For TRC20 tokens you need Tron.

Trust wallet supports a lot of blockchain if you would noticed if you are going to create a wallet. Tron is just a piece of chain they are supported. As far as I know trust doesn't do cross chain yet even on their dex. Cause I've tried before to swap erc20 to Bep20 and its not possible. For now you can only trade same blockchain on their dex. If you used safepal that one is more convenient that let you swap some tokens in different chains.

I'm not sure many understand what you meant OP, in trust wallet there is a swap option named Dex, I'm guessing it's same with the image below?

If I'm right then you need ETH in your Ethereum wallet to be able to swap any tokens successfully, same as Tron trc20 tokens and BNB etc

Without it the transaction won't proceed instead, being cancelled means that the transaction has been processed then cancelled.

Yes, that's it, you've verified what I've said about other coins that needed their respective coins/tokens for the gas fee.

AFAIK, that swap option is only for BNB chain, so that's not going to work either. OP, you might want to use Binance instead of instant swap service. The fees are not worth it for small transactions.
