It's a great idea to at least somehow show your attitude towards this person. I will definitely sign this petition and will do it with great pleasure. However, this will not insure us against repeating this story. Unfortunately, this person still has and will obviously have a great influence on the masses of people who will believe his words and the ideas that he broadcasts. Let's massively show our attitude towards this character!

I have nothing against him, and I think without his visionary skills we aren't going to have Mars colonization or manned Mars flights during this lifetime.
He has done great things to improve private spaceflight, and has greatly raised the standards for electric vehicles for civilian use (Tesla).

The people with intense hatred against him seem to be short term gamblers from third world countries who can't deal with Bitcoin price dips.
People who will absolutely not hold long term under any circumstance. Who buy into Bitcoin hoping for instant magic profits.

Sure, it's an unpopular opinion to have around here, just my 2 honest cents so this doesn't become an echo chamber of hatred.

I think the hatred towards him is hilarious and over the top.
Blame all the brainless lemmings instead who follow his Twitter religiously and base their purchases on his joke and hype tweets.

I do contest some of his claims about Bitcoin not being environment-friendly;
Many of the huge miners are utilizing hydroelectric power in Russia and China. That is as clean-energy as it gets.

For Bitcoin to become fully politically acceptable, as many big mining corporations as possible need to follow that example and also only use hydro, solar or wind power.
Many already do though.

Better to neglect his twits whether it was supporting crypto or not (thanks for the free pub BTW) but also it would be beneficial for everyone to get ride of these people who follow blindly such persons as they are harmful for our community and cryptocurrencies in general.
And as a wise man said once: Do Not Feed The Troll.

Absolutely, I think the community should calm down and do what sensible investors
do, buy cheap Bitcoin. Elon himself could very well be taking advantage of the
effect he is creating.

Maybe if he didnt get the attention he is getting now Bitcoins value may not
be creeping towards $40k.

I can understand how a lot of new Bitcoiners feel though, Elon seems to be playing
a little game but for people who have very little opportunities to invest in
something and who are relying on Bitcoin to give them a better future, it is frustrating,
and probably worrying.

Elon doesnt get that though.

I agree with you. What Elon wants is almost the same as what McAfee wanted previously, he tried to get people's attention. I don't know what the specific purpose, it can be related to his company (Tesla) or the status of one of the richest people in the world labelled on him. However, in fact, he is getting popular after he tweets about crypto, Doge, or Bitcoin. At least, he knows by doing this, his popularity improved and more people know about Tesla company.

Tesla selling BTC would be bullish, because the risk of 1.5 billion dump would be gone.

I think Elon didn't sell BTC yet, because he's afraid to look like a fool when the price would eventually reach 6 figures and he would be remembered as a man who rejected Bitcoin and missed out on profits. It's well-known that he is a narcissist, and making poor technological prediction would hurt his (self)image.

I Always were a Elon musk fan.
He is like an inventor. Have you seen his rockets landing backwards? Tesla cars are amazing, a disruptive new tech that can really change the world the way we know it. Cities may reduce the noise a lot, as electric cars work in silence  ...

But when he talks about crypto he just sound like a lunatic. I can understand all that hate!

He is acting like a kid.

Soon he will be like macfee, nobody will listen to him anymore.

As much as the influence goes. I dont think influencers or majority of crypto guys, would ignore Elon musk attention on Twitter.

This petition is likely will do a publicize attention. People don't see it that way, and some making it big deal, but for sure Elon is laughing hard somewhere right now how bull shit cryptomarket as he pinned down some bloody correction off every coins out there.

1. In fairness to Elon, he is free to do whatever he wants. He is no different from hundreds and hundreds of other crypto people who are shilling all kinds of shit, those who are criticizing Bitcoin from whatever sides valid or not, those who are promoting Bitcoin as if it fixes all problems in the world, and so forth. They are the reasons why there is such a thing as DYOR (Do Your Own Research).

2. The crypto market is completely free. Any billionaire could manipulate the price at the expense of whoever they care not. The rule is that there is no rule.

3. Fuck Elon Tweet token ($FUCKELON) is a joke. Its quick growth is another joke. All at the expense of crypto. This makes the crypto community looks uglier.

Just my humble opinion.

Exactly. Famous influencers have been making videos about cryptocurrency, Doge, and Elon Musk recently to the point that he is being introduced to other people. I've been even hearing people talking about Elon Musk here in our place. What he's doing is definitely working for him and he is not going to stop anytime soon.

This petition is meaningless and is probably getting laugh at by Elon Musk in his man cave or something.

Stop this petition. Stop feeding the trolls. Even this FUCK ELON token might be headed by Elon Musk himself!

He is losing the Mars exploration because China had just landed there. His power is nothing against it. His claim on Mars will soon crash. That power is getting out of his hand.  This SpaceX scam will soon be revealed.  His Paypal had already turned into just a bank and not a payment method.  ;D

Him deliberately trolling crypto market will also crash. Let him enjoy the attention for now because this guy will likely end up like Mcaffee.

Elon Musk is already so tired of his lies and manipulations on the crypto market that the crypto community created a petition:
https://www.change.org/p/elon-musk-elon-musk-should-sell-his-bitcoin
As long as one has internet connection and has a platform he can do anything. But to me, it's just a stupid yet funny idea.

1. A person is allowed to buy sell their coins whenever they want.
2. How would you know that he is not holding any bitcoin or even holding bitcoin

The more attention people give him, the more influence he can exert.  Petitions give him more attention.  You are going to achieve the complete opposite of what you set out to do.
He must be enjoying it seeing bunches of bitcoin noobs are making him rich. The difference between rich and poor is in their action. Rich keeps the poor busy what the things they do and become richer.

Anyway, I am happy seeing all those noobs are losing their money because until they learn it hard way, they will not understand the bitcoin industry. So let them learn the lessons.

A lot of things have been riding with Elon ever since he expressed interest in cryptocurrencies. I even know someone who is a die-hard fan of him that he wants to continue to buying DOGE coin. He is fairly smart since he is investing what he can risk and is okay to lose.

It's not bad to ride the hype because of the possible opportunities that you could get while trading it. What's worse is that people are investing in these different types of projects without really understanding the reason why it exists in the first place.

Could this Hate be the cause of the next bearish market with BTC? Up to the point that Elon becomes too affected by this and just decides to sell everything? Wouldn't this be worse?

Musk dumped the Bitcoin price. The Bitcoin community-"Elon Musk is a jerk" ;D
This is kinda funny. At the end of the day,it's all about the Bitcoin price, not about blockchain technology or Bitcoin adoption. It's all about the price.
A petition against Musk won't change anything.I was never really a Elon Musk fan,but maybe he is trying to tell us something, with all his trolling over social media.Something about the toxic nature of the crypto industry-Everyone is so focused on the prices. The crypto industry is basically "casino capitalism".

Yes, he can move the crypto market, but I am not sure if he can do that every time because the crypto market will move against him. Although he can modify the fundamentals market, he needs to be careful because the market will not move as he wants. Maybe people need to let Elon and watch what Elon will do later and if he tries to move the market again, we can use that for our benefit.

How can you be so sure about the intention of those who are raising this petition? They may be doing it for their own publicity. Even if the intentions are real, I don't really think that Elon will be bothered much about an online petition, which is signed by less than 500 people. His Twitter poll, where he asked whether Tesla should accept Dogecoin, was voted on by more than 3.9 million people. Now compare the numbers. 500 vs 3.9 million. The best thing to do is to wait and watch. Elon is going to sink under his own weight.

Be careful what you wish for. I doubt you'd be happy if he did dump all his coins. Something tells me people don't mind when he publicly announces he's bought bitcoin and he's a hero when he does but when he sells he's the bad guy. Calling for him to dump his coins is almost as childish and puerile as he's behaving and seems like people are throwing their toys out of the pram because the value of bitcoin isn't going the way they want it to. I think the bigger issue is how fickle people are and hang on his every word. If all it takes is one ambiguous word from him to tank the price by 5%+ then it's not his fault people are sheeple and act positively or negatively on his whim. I would rather have people like Elon on our side than against us and if people piss him off with their crying and hassling him then he can do much more harm if he wanted to and that's where the real danger lies. Personally I'd rather him just change his mind and start accepting bitcoin again at some point but he's not going to do that if people are attacking him, but something tells me he was getting heat or hassle on the environmental concerns front and since Tesla is trying to sell it's cars as eco friendly it doesn't really go well for their brand.

Musk also admitted that he has Asperger's syndrome.

Billionaire Elon Musk admitted that he has Asperger's syndrome. It is an autism spectrum disorder that is known to have communication and social difficulties but is often cognitive and verbal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCF8I_X1qKI

There are suspicions that this is just an excuse to have something to cover up their actions. Musk constantly laughs it off and comes up with various excuses for his ridiculous actions so that the SEC does not take on him. And it would be high time already.

I doubt there's a conspiracy here. His behaviour does seem pretty autistic to me. I think he thinks he's just being funny and acting like he's "down with the kids" when he talks/memes about dogecoin etc but it all comes across as pretty cringe to me, but if people want to throw their money at dogecoin just because Elon talks about it then that's their prerogative and if they get burned then they only have themselves to blame.

I know this is childish behavior for a short time. Mean if Elon sells his holding then we will encounter a short-time dump in Bitcoin price. But if we think more deeply then it's better for a long time. Better if he says that he left Bitcoin forever and enter some other shitcoin. Let him play with shitcoin. There are many institutional investors still buying Bitcoin even Elon spreading negative about Bitcoin. So I believe even he decided to sell all the holding then someone else will buy back it on the other ends, I mean some other institutional investors. This kind of people like Elon is harmful to the crypto industry.

It could very well be the case. Having $1.5 billion invested in BTC, why would he want the price drop?  I see only one possible reason: to buy more at lower price.

Elon is a wise guy, with lots of proofs of that. I can't imagine him turning into a jerk some people in this thread see him as. Only time will tell. Get the popcorn ready.

I saw the article on Cointelegraph where they thanks Elon for introducing Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to the world. Well, we may have hated him for trolling but that's really a wonder that a big influencer like him can do. He had been on the headline news in the business and investment news because of it and they can't help mentioning Bitcoin and Dogecoin.

This dip he made is allowing the new people in the market to buy the dip.

This petition may just prove that Elon has indeed big influence in the crypto market. I believe, it is better to just move on as the crypto market can survive without him. This will give another reason why people will see that Elon is an integral part in crypto, which is not the case. Even without him, crypto will survive. Just don't buy any of his tweets anymore. I honestly didn't profit from Elon Musk pumping prices, since I didn't sell any BTC during that period. You're mentioning that the crypto community didn't care back then, because the market was boosted, but that couldn't be further from the truth, at least for me. I was genuinely worried when Elon announced that he purchased $1.5 Billion worth of Bitcoin, suspecting that the current situation would be inevitable.

This FUCKELON token is so hyped ;D ;D but that's pump and dump.
Isn't Doge and what Musk has done to Bitcoin exactly the same? He is just a P&D generator and he only has the influence he has because we're giving him the attention. Without the attention, he'd have no power.. and if we continue to give him attention.. he'll just continue to do this because why not?

How about a new petition? Everyone should stop following Elon Musk on Twitter and stop reporting what he says and does. Case closed.

Indeed, total ignore that is the best course to shut down Elon's influence to use.  The more we react to his statement the more impact it will give to its tweet.  But sadly media won't stop relaying his message because it has always gone viral as soon as Elon releases any statement because we immediately react to it.

Yeah, I bet that would be the hardest punishment for Elon, to have people stop following him on social media.
I can only imagine the damage this would do to his ego!

Musk again writes about cryptocurrency in a good way. He used to say that Bitcoin is a little less shitty than fiat money, otherwise DogeCoin is a cryptocurrency that should be exchanged for money, and now he says that between fiat money and cryptocurrency, he chooses cryptocurrencies.

These constant changes in the vector of thinking are already tired of the order.   >:(

I have expected this move by him. He's a wise guy, and a wise guy doesn't invest $1.5 billion in something and then makes it decline.

Musk, if you choose cryptocurrencies in this battle, why do you speak badly about them?  ???

"It was just a healthy criticism", might reply Musk, hiding the real purpose of those statements - to lower the price for a little while. Why buy expensive when you can get it cheap? :)

I have no problem or worry about this situation, I still trust bitcoin. Many people or organization tried to destroy bitcoin and they always fail. Many smart people that always hold their bitcoin no matter what, and in the future they get big profit. I hope Elon Musk don't do bad thing to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because it is not good for his company image.

First of all, Elon Musk doesn't directly own any Bitcoin. And secondly, it is up to Tesla to decide whether they want to sell their BTC stash or not. Just because a few people make some noise here, that doesn't mean that Tesla will be forced to sell their coins. Being a decentralized asset, no one has the right to speak on behalf of Bitcoin. If you guys are so adamant about it, then you can make an offer to Tesla, to purchase whatever BTC they have in their wallet, at a rate which is 10% or 20% above the prevailing market rate.

Elon didn't 'make' it decline. The idiots who hang on his every word and dump on the slightest suggestion of something that could be construed as vaguely negative. And 1.5 billion isn't that much when he's worth over 1.5 billion. I'm sure people will be singing his praises if he manages to sort this eco-mining council thing out and the price pumps because of it again. It already went up 5% after the news.

First of all, Elon Musk doesn't directly own any Bitcoin.

He owns at least a quarter of a bitcoin since 2018:

https://www.investopedia.com/news/tesla-billionaire-elon-musk-reveals-how-much-bitcoin-he-owns/

I would be surprised if he doesn't own more or hasn't added to his own personal stash since then. He's mentioned that he hasn't sold any of his personal holdings yet so I'm assuming he has more than a mere quarter.

It's not bitcoin that is the problem here, Elon has a big following which could be problematic because the moment he says something about bitcoin in a negative light, the prices will surely plummet, people will follow what their God will say and we can't do anything about it, it's how the market was moved plus if that were to happen, I would really love to buy some bitcoin at a really low price.

One thing that we should acknowledge regardless if it’s Elon or someone else, is that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are unpredictable. You gotta accept the market conditions, whether if it goes bearish, bullish or kangarooish, and always do your own research and invest/trade what you can afford to lose.

I understand that a lot of them are pissed off with Elon for manipulating the market with just a single tweet. But it’s not just Elon alone, but we can also blame China for it’s major role on bringing down the price due to their crackdown on Bitcoin mining and trading (especially Inner Mongolia). Even Iran recently banned all Bitcoin mining now.

Well, how do i say this? But for me, despite all of the controversies, I don't think it is the right choice to ask Elon Musk to sell his bitcoin. First, its his coin, he has the right to do so. Second, if you're that fcked up with his bullshit, alright, I understand, but making him sell his big amount of bitcoin will only be harmful for the market. The price will surely drops, a lot, and of course most of you don't want that thing to happen right? Elon can do whatever he wants, we just need to ignore him. Stop making him become that crypto influencer, and make him just a normal person whose word hold no power.

maybe this could be a sentilan for elon but this is just a small stumbling  and will not mean anything to him.
because he clearly had powers and petitions and signed only about 300 people could not make him deterred. but at least this is entertainment for now and also a stumbling block for elon even if only a little and almost does not feel :)

The people/investors has given him this power to manipulate the market and potraying him as the future predictor and made investment on his tweets. He was ruling the market like a king telling lies and spreading rumours for his personal benefits but all this hype is now in vain and he is no longer in position to make false tweets because they don't matter now so what's the fun of this game.Making tokens like fuckelon or stopelon is just like making some other shit memecoins again in the market which have no utility in future and will crash. So best is to ignore hime in any means of crypto world.

He will not be selling any Bitcoins at instant because he might be against bitcoin mining showing himself as environmentalist but not against holding. He knows how much Tesla has gained with $1.5 billion of investment in just 4-6 months and what will be future profits. So relax about that situation also.

This petition wouldn't be good for the community, the more that we do something then the more that we are giving him attention, we can't do anything to him cause he is powerful and we cannot control him of what should be the things he would do. Let's just make it natural, let's just time end the ear of Elon Musk, He cant control the market all the time, people will have good knowledge in the future to the point that they don't need to follow what Elon Musk wants it to be.
Absolutely, all this things are just giving him more attention, people will know more about him, some curious people might trying to find out what happened, and who knows that some will be pro to him rather than angry with him. We need to stop caring about him, giving him attention since i believe that it is what he wants. I guess the petition won't be any good, it's not like he will hear your complaints and agree to do as the petition said though, small chances.

This is what is called speculation. Musk is a businessman and uses bitcoin to promote his business and build up his money. It's worth admitting. I don't understand why some people still believe that he is some kind of crypto messiah and will help Bitcoin soar high up. Musk can drop Bitcoin in the same way. We have already checked this well. Nothing personal - just business, as they say.

Exactly. Now Musk is called "Bitcoin's biggest influencer" by media, and partly it's true, but should we think that Bitcoin's destiny is entirely dependent on Musk's statements? No. It would be so if Bitcoin was nothing without Musk's support, but we all know that this has never been the case. Musk can quit the game, and he will be swiftly replaced by another "biggest influencer", be it a person or an institution.

That's for the best right now, damn FUD is flooding in, the cult of Elon is ruining the market in a negative way.  When the new investor community arrives, they don't have enough arguments, they will go before realizing the emotions dominated by Elon's tweets.  Like stocks before it, Elon should be kept quiet when it comes to bending things.  Lol, the negative sentiment is flowing, the pressures on the rise of the US dollar only make the bulls create an isosceles triangle.

And he won't even care about this petition, this situation is like the time when Caligula challenged Neptune and he ordered his soldiers to poke and slice the ocean. And Elon doesn't have the bitcoin, it's Tesla that has the bitcoin so they are pointing at the wrong person and if Tesla was to sell the bitcoin that they have, I am sure everyone will go insane because the prices will dump really heavy if they sell their bitcoin.

Same thoughts about the topic but I guess it is what they are expecting to happen with this petition,
They are aiming to buy at a lower price and thinks that when the price drops low and they bought it the price would bounce back to where it was.
But if it isn't what they are expecting then I don't really see any other point on this?
Because we all know that even if they win and somehow Elon or Tesla really sell their Bitcoin they would surely come back again to gain profit,
And when it happens it would be another drama about market manipulation.

Okay, then let's talk less about Elon. If the petition works, that we think it needs a celebration...But I don't think that we really need to reach that moment as I see that Elon Musk is now leaving crypto. And even without this petition, he is willing to send himself out from here, right?

If people will become more curious about the life EM, this drama wouldn't have an end. People will keep talking as they pretending that they know more about the life of Elon. Why not set him free and for us also to move on.

On the real note, stop giving attention, and just focus on what is happening right now. We don't really need to chase him down for what he does as before he got interested in BTC. BTC is already doing better in fact the current price range is almost the same amount to before Musk enter.

No. It would be so if Bitcoin was nothing without Musk's support, but we all know that this has never been the case. Musk can quit the game, and he will be swiftly replaced by another "biggest influencer", be it a person or an institution.

I don't think Musk is the most powerful person in Bitcoin right now. His latest antics have badly damaged his reputation, the community is angry with him, some even blame him for their own losses, because both Bitcoin and DOGE have lost very much in price, and thanks to Musk, they have been pumped up a lot.

I think the strongest player right now is MicroStrategy and their head Saylor. After all, as we remember, it was in 2020, thanks to the "MicroStrategy effect", that many institutions began to invest in bitcoin. It is also worth considering that MicroStrategy now has 92 000 BTC on its balance sheet, and Tesla has 43 200. The data was taken from Bitcoin Treasuries (https://bitcointreasuries.org).

Now imagine that tomorrow MicroStrategy will declare that they are disappointed in bitcoin and no longer want to invest in it, and all bitcoins will be sold? There will be a tremendous collapse.

This is what I'm not sure about, I mean I really don't know if selling 92,000 BTC can cause a tremendous collapse. It's only 10% of today's daily trading volume. Surely it would cause a significant decline, if sold at once, But in a couple of weeks, or months, the market would recover, no? And much less would Tesla's selling off affect the market, of course. ... I may be wrong, but that's what I think.

What happens after that though? Did the petition accomplish anything and if Elon was to authorize the selling of Tesla's bitcoin, what now then? The people who created this petition and signed it are stupid because their hate won't translate into something that will benefit bitcoin in any way.

Unfortunately, this person still has and will obviously have a great influence on the masses of people who will believe his words and the ideas that he broadcasts.
Unless this petition gets hundreds of thousands of signatures there will be little impact. The guy is huge, and his success and connections will make all of this look like nothing.

Don't get me wrong it is great to see such unity among the crypto holders but is just that we need to come up with a massive splash that nobody can't ignore. I'm talking about great media attention, and an ongoing rally, this can't be a one of thing. This is the only way this has a way to penetrate and make an impact.

Do not take into account the sale of only bitcoins from MS, since a couple of the same values can easily be added to these 92,000, because after these sales others will follow, the so-called panic sell will begin. Those 92 000 bitcoins will provoke it easily. MicroStrategy has been an example for other institutions to invest in bitcoin. So their abandonment of bitcoins will serve as an example for many to quickly sell their bitcoins. The crowd reacts very strongly to this. Even one message from Saylor, which says that he was disappointed in bitcoin, will be enough to provoke a dump, so by 30%, and the market can recover after that for a very long time.

The crypto market is very volatile, here any statements from large players can have a great impact on the price.

I agree, and that's what I was going to say last time, but it slipped my mind somehow: it's not the amount of BTC in one's possession is what makes someone a "Bitcoin's biggest influencer", but rather the social value of the person. His/her words can make much more damage to the market than any sell off.

Are you even serious right now? Musk really couldn't care less about those "warnings". Public people like Musk are getting various threats all the time. If they were paying attention to them, they simply couldn't live, ffs.

Fortunately, Bitcoin is much stronger than anything that could be destroyed by Musk's or anyone else's words. And that's what matters.
