I think everyone must be realized since it says "Elon Mask" instead Elon Musk. Lol, is Elon wearing a mask?  ;D
The giveaway stated for $100million dollar, when Elon has losses so much far than that since TESLA's stock dropped a lot.

There's more of it actually. Elon is a magnet for scammers. These scammers are very aware of the craze and learn the behaviour of the newbie who is also greedy.

It's been on youtube as well. In the video that will just play right from the beginning, you'd have to click SKIP AD but when you listen further Elon will appear with a text thousands of BTC giveaway. I didn't click the link though. It's been there for several days already and youtube didn't do anything about it. This is like what Garlinghouse had been complaining to youtube.

Can we all report this to the registrar of the domain? Not heard of Regtime-ru previously though. Namecheap, Namesilo are pretty quick and taking action but knowing the corruption in RU.. :-[

Site was created yesterday and they are already spreading the scam like wildfire. Of course nothing beats the scent of free money and it is a good thing that the OP posted about it here.

If any newbie who is dying to make some money reads this, know that money is not created in thin air. If you send money to someone it is gone forever.

I think everyone must be realized since it says "Elon Mask" instead Elon Musk.

I think (maybe I could be wrong) that most people should not have paid attention to this "Elon Mask" error, because most people will pay attention to his photo

Lol, is Elon wearing a mask?  ;D

in this time of pandemic he must be using mask like everyone else, jokes aside... these scammers can make incredible jokes

The giveaway stated for $100million dollar, when Elon has losses so much far than that since TESLA's stock dropped a lot.

he is rich, people know it so even with these losses he is still rich enough to afford to give money, of course in this case it is fake giveaway

It's been there for several days already and youtube didn't do anything about it.

youtube are slow when it comes to solving these kinds of things

Not heard of Regtime-ru previously though. Namecheap, Namesilo are pretty quick and taking action but knowing the corruption in RU.. :-[

it is also the first time i see this " Regtime-ru ". the only way to find out if they are corrupt or not and try to report this scam site to them

I don't have good experience with report to hosting/domain providers, they are usually very slow and don't do anything if they don't get an official letter from some higher institution. I reported the site to Google Phishing (you can do this from the browser - Help -> Report Deceptive Site, which in case of a successful report would result in blocking that site in most browsers.

Unfortunately, many people believe any advertisement that comes from famous people without even making sure that they are famous people, and many people put their personal data (including real address) as they consider it free and may win the opportunity to make profits.

Also, I do not think that the more wealth you have, the more difficult it will be to give *free money.*

The recent prominence of Elon made a big spike in the scams conducted using his name so newbies have to be extra careful because they are more persuasive and have more material to work from just to scam you. Also, how come people are still falling for giveaways, a lot of giveaways are for free and the moment that they ask you to pay, that's when you know that it is a scam.

Even before Elon Musk become prominent in bitcoin market because of his tweet and his company buying bitcoin, he has been used by scammers already. I wrote a thread about it, Breaking down the anatomy of a fake giveaway scam (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5271453.0/).

I'm trying to find how to report this website to it's domain registrar, but it seems I'm lost in translation. So the next big thing to do is to report it to Google: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en. It will just take less than 2 minutes of our time.

No, what I am trying to say is that Elon become more popular and parallel to that is the fact that most scams that use his name are getting higher and active compared when he wasn't the talk of the town.

Anyone who will fall for this is not looking for details the surname is wrong and Elon Musk is unlikely to launch a giveaway, all giveaway on Elon Musk name are all scam, if you fall for this, you have nothing to blame but yourself.

Yeah,,, you are right.

I also agree with you that some people have the tendency of getting free money specially when its crypto currency. This is why scammers use famous people's reputation to attract this specific group of people. They know well that greedy and immature investors will be interested after seeing that there is opportunity of getting free tokens or money. I have seen so many people who only run after free airdrops and they think its the only way of earning in the field of crypto currency. Few month earlier we have seen a incident of twitter account hack and hacker used some famous people's twitter profile. At that time they just made same post from all profile to make payment for BTC giveaway and a good amount of people sent money to that address.

Also, I do not think that the more wealth you have, the more difficult it will be to give *free money.*
Its because they have better investment options in their hand and they want to use every single $ to increase their wealth. Yeah we can expect them donating funds to charity but obviously they will not give it anyone without any reason.

I'm trying to find how to report this website to it's domain registrar, but it seems I'm lost in translation. So the next big thing to do is to report it to Google: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en. It will just take less than 2 minutes of our time.

I suggested it too, but when I visited that site yesterday the controversial content was replaced with content on biology and nature. Someone is obviously using tactics to change the content of the site to avoid any sanctions - we just need to see if elon scam will reappear.

why did scammers change the content of the site right after I created this thread? was it coincidence or was it that the scammer is a member of bitcointalk and saw this thread? so far i'm wondering about it. however for the time being people are saved

^^ Have seen it though that when the websites has been flagged, the criminals will suddenly change the content of the website. Perhaps it was a tactic being used by them to somewhat misguide domain registrars so that their website won't be shutdown.

Scammers are everywhere, possible as well that the people behind are member of this community and monitors every report here.

There are too many of these scam giveaways in the name of Elon Musk. Recently i saw a google ad on a YouTube video where fake Elon Musk team was collecting money and double it.  >:( Even google does not filter these scam ads . The only thing to remember is that Elon musk will never run any giveaway campaigns.

It's funny that still people are falling for such giveaways. I have seen fake tweets leading to fake websites where it's being said that Elon will double your doges/BTC/ETH and recently I even saw a fake telegram group where a fake Elon Musk was talking with people and pinned message was leading to another scam website.

I think some time ago Elon's Twitter was hacked and tweets were made like "I'll double any BTC payment sent to my BTC address for the next hour. Good luck, and stay safe out there!" and people fell for it. I mean yes it's okay to fall for such scams because they came from the official account but how can someone get scammed with all these fake websites, groups and telegram channels.
