Title: myetherwallet.com Wallet - Tether(USDT) Transaction Fee
Post by: Vort3x.Layers on May 24, 2021, 12:39:25 PM
I want to create a wallet for Tether(USDT) & buy some tether.
For wallet i chose myetherwallet.com (https://www.myetherwallet.com)
Some month ago i transferred some ncash to myetherwallet.com.
Now i can not transfer that ncash because my ethereum balance is zero and i do n't have enough gas as transaction fee.(6000 ncash needs around 2$ ethereum for transaction fee)
Now i want to know what will happen to my new tether?
does it need ethereum like ncash for transaction fee?
Is myetherwallet.com a good wallet for tether?

You must have ethereum for the transaction fee.

does it need ethereum like ncash for transaction fee?
Yes

Is myetherwallet.com a good wallet for tether?
Web wallets are most risky to use (MyEtherWallet is a web wallet), mobile wallets are preferable, desktop wallets are more preferable, hardware are the safest.

I will advice you not to use ethereum wallet for tether because of that high fee, use wallet like Trust wallet, send the tether to USDT TRC20 which has very low fee, but you will need Tron for the fee, also you can use USDT BSC (BEP20) for low fee.

If you are using the remaining amount of ethereum in your account and you will be loosing your ethereum caused by your gas is too low to meet the minimum amount of gas fees.
If you are leaving your assets in your wallet and you will be fine and your assets will not go somewhere.
Any transaction that happened on ethereum network will always need ethereum ( include your ncash).

MEW is good but you can try to use mycrypto desktop wallet for the best exp.

$2 Ethereum for transaction fee is not enough. You need to have at least $10 worth of Ethereum (in a low gas price) in your wallet to make sure that your transaction will become successful. Everytime you want to send your tokens/assets from Ethereum, you always need gas fee for transaction. Much better to use trust wallet and use bnb blockchain to make a transaction or Tron wallet for small transaction fees compared to Ethereum.

The $ 2 transaction fee I think looks cheap for a transaction on the ethereum network at the moment.
but it looks like we need to have more in our wallets to be able to make transactions on the ethereum network.
just try $ 10 ethereum and I'm sure you will be able to make your transaction.
I hope this is an experience for you.

Your Tether will stay there and it won't be moved until you have moved it. You have to understand that the fees currently are really high and there's a recommended fee that's being suggested by myetherwallet for you to transfer your ETH. If your USDT is a lot and you need to move it, then use at least $10-$20 of Ethereum and transfer it to that wallet just to be sure that you're not going to have problems moving your Tether. But if you're okay waiting until the gas fees lower down which is unlikely at the moment, you are fine and you won't have any problem.

You need to learn more about the transaction mechanism, like gas fee, gwei, etc.
Also remember you can lost your gas if the transaction cancelled due to low gas problem, so set your gas a little bit above its required.

Yes, to send any ERC20 token, you need gas. And gas is eteherum.
If you're aiming strictly for USDT, try Tron, transactions there are much cheaper
