Title: Converting Fraternities and College Apts to Bitcoin
Post by: PrintCoins on December 01, 2011, 01:01:19 AM
College students can be messy, and when a bunch of them live together it can be troublesome to divvy up the chores. In this case, you can use bitcoins as a way of creating a micro economy of chore resolution in your house.

* Front the money, and buy everyone one bitcoin and set up their phone, computer, whatever to handle it.
* Have everyone add each other's addresses to their address books
* Every week have a reverse auction (bidding amount goes down instead of up) for the chores. The amount gets divied up, and everyone chips in to pay that person to do the chore that they "won" for the lowest price anyone was willing to do it.
* The person with the the most bitcoins is not allowed to take a chore (they get out of working for the week). This makes it so no one gets too "rich" and also makes it so everyone can pay in to pay the person doing the chore. The person with the least amount of bitcoins has to do their chore first (this way they can pay others to do their chores).

This could be a closed or open system. A closed system would mean that money cannot come from outside addresses. I might chose an open system, as it would bring more money into the economy and make everyone more wealthier. Chores could become a side job for an individual.

Limits on the number of chores, etc can be improvised in the house rules.

Remove this pointless garbage and it's perfect.

Also make sure to have some kind of bulletin board posting showing what they can use the Bitcoin's for.  I suggest printing this up on a poster Anonymity Online, Tor Guide in 10 Easy Steps, with cartoon image (https://i.imgur.com/wC2SP.jpg) to really ensure people realize how easy it is.  And then give them a link to Silk Road.

Edit to this post, I just wanted to add I am not kidding.   I would like to see a mass movement of people using TOR and Silk Road.  Let's put these type of services to the test, not enough of the general public knows they don't have to go to the streets for their habits.   I think the security they have in place is strong enough, and I actually think a large influx of new users will help other Silk Road like sites try their hand.

The local alcohol stores do not take Bitcoin, so this is pretty much a worthless cause.

Also no one in my fraternity who gets fined for not doing chores pays them anyways, no one cares, money isn't everything, and so on.

I think drugs trumps alcohol for college students.
