Title: Junior students ask for advice: what money is worth investing now, and what mone
Post by: yunshangjun on May 27, 2021, 11:40:18 AM
Hello, everyone in the forum. I'm a junior. I've been in and out of the coin circle for two and a half months. I've stepped on a lot of holes and been cut several times. I don't believe my eyes at will
I've been watching a lot of Posts and new coins for two days, but I don't know which one has made a breakthrough in technology. I think all the big guys in the forum have come through the wind and rain, so I want to ask for advice. Now it's May 27, 2021, At present, what other currencies have great potential (such as eth XRP in those years), and I also want to invest in them   Put it still, and then look at it five years later. Please give me some advice

If what you are considering to invest are coins, the best is Bitcoin.

I don't tell you Bitcoin will help you get the biggest profit compares to Bitcoin in one particular time, one month, 6 months, 1 year. In the long time, Bitcoin is the best coin for you.

If you invest in alternate (alternative) coins, and get big profits. Exchange your profit to Bitcoin

At present, what other currencies have great potential (such as eth XRP in those years)
Because of the crazy market manipulation, I recommend you to always understand how a cryptocurrency works and what problems it solves. Only that way you'll be sure for your decisions. Did you know, for example, that XRP is being fully control by an entity and they can inflate it whenever they want? Did you also know that the majority of ETH are premined and it's being very volatile due to the Vitalik's influence?

Monero has a great potential IMO. It's anonymous and completely decentralized.

Put it still, and then look at it five years later. Please give me some advice
I think it's pretty obvious that if you invest in one of those with the highest market cap, excluding Dogecoin that was recently pumped hard, and wait for five years, you'll have a profit. But which of them will bring you the biggest profit? No one knows. I could guess Bitcoin.

It seems 2 years didn't teach you in this space, because you still think XRP has a great potential. If you looking for pump and dump coins, you're somewhat like doing gambling in cryptocurrency because for sure no one knows which coins will bring x10 x100 in the future.

Bitcoin is a good crypto for long term investment.

That's right, in cryptocurrency you didn't know on how or what coin will pump up or will go x10 and it is like you are gambling in the market but for me it is not a form of gambling because it is a form of investing where you are risking your money and waiting for the perfect time to withdraw it. It is a long journey for a long term investment but trust me it will always worth the wait.

if talking about good coins of course bitcoin is the answer, but by investing in bitcoin you have to be patient because investing here is not instant with just a few days, it takes at least months and maybe even years to get a fairly large profit.
but apart from bitcoin you can also join eth or bnb because the prospects are pretty good when investing there, all you need to pass is the coin pump and do not follow the fomo because it can make you greedy and in the end not a perceived profit but a sufficient loss

if you save money in a bank your money will not increase, if you save gold that's good too, because the price of gold can also go up, but you should just save bitcoin, because bitcoin can make your finances better in the future ..

Hello, welcome back again to the crypto world, if you think that ETH and XRP have good potential then why don't you think about bitcoin? Bitcoin will only the best assets to invest in for the long term, there id no other altcoin that can take over bitcoin. Investing in bitcoin would not make you instant money, you have to hold it for the long term to have a more profit.

You should first of all understand the market properly, 2 and half month is a small time frame to be in and out of crypto, at least put some more time to read and understand what you are getting involved with,
Having said that, my recommendation will be already trading and trusted coins with track record,  I won't recommend new project since you are still relatively new, coins like btc, eth, bnb, sol, link, uni, cake, dot, etc all have good future and since you said something to hold like 5 years I think better to look into this one's and decide.

The right advice remained left to you, nobody will give you the accurate advice you want, though not that they can not give you right advice, but you need to be the one to make research about this and invest on the coins you want to be able to know better and have experience about cryptocurrencies. I can advise you to download coingecko or coinmarketcap to check the history of crypto prices, you will be able to decide which one is best for you.

maybe everyone wants to stick to the principle that crypto holders really guarantee the future. You don't need to worry, some of their suggestions are great suggestions. And it comes down to your decision. as long as you are sure to store value in Bitcoin, never hesitate to profit in the future. if for now you are only capable in altcoin, always choose altcoin that have great potential. be it ETH or XRP you are holding, I am sure if you are ready for all the risks and control your emotions when bear market time comes. keep calm and save your coins for the future.

If you are looking for crypto investments for the long term, bitcoin is the primary choice. Still, if you want to invest in altcoins, my advice is to look for coins with solid fundamentals, avoid coins that only hype for a moment with prices that immediately pump, and then dump. Do your own research on your investment options, so you don't have to blame others when reality doesn't match your expectations ;D

To OP, there are several good projects out there that are very good for investment both on short term and long term basis, even some of the old players like ETH and TRX are very good to invest in right now for short or long term profit(depends on how long you want to wait).
But if you are looking for new projects that are still very cheap to invest in, then you won't go wrong with STUDENT COIN (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/student-coin/), the project is very promising and they already have a great number of supporter and alot of developments coming to the project soon, and the token is still very cheap too and also listed on some very good exchanges like kucoin, Bithumb global and bitcoin.com.
Also check out this bitcoin fork coin BITGESELL  (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitgesell/), the project is just a little above one year old and it's a direct fork of bitcoin, this means that it's supply is just 21 million coins and just a little above 11 million in circulation right now, the coin also is still very cheap and alot of development is coming to the project too, so I think its a very promising long term project.

yes its a good decision actually infact i highly recommended also to check those top20 altcoin below of XRP in coinmarketcap.. They are trusted but remember that it's all up to you which do you see will fit on your strategy.. Hodling for long term is always a good idea mate but still i want to suggest to invest what amount you can afford to lose so that it will never bother when there's a bad news around the internet wherein until you came back like what you said five years..

everyone would say Bitcoin, but I wouldn't say that. because the most important thing you should consider is. how confident are you in crypto, are you ready with all the risks?
it's not about how long you've known crypto, because it's useless to know if not closer.
Your decision on your own depends on the money you have, then your money is not needed for your needs. but for your future. not needed for your day to day life.
investment principles must be considered. don't use money if you yourself still have a need out there.

I think Bitcoin is best for investment because because of its total history, some peoples are much trying to catch it with shits coin but Old is Gold.
I am sure if you invest in bitcoin it will double in few years.

DYOR! This is a basic stuff and even with those professionals or veterans out there doesnt have an assurance on what they are investing. We do have the same thoughts or questions in mind on what are the potential projects that we can invest on for us to make some profits. This had been a never ending question to ourselves and theres no exclusion neither you are a newbie or an experienced one.Although the difference would really clear in terms of
experience and decision making about their portfolio. For you op then just read up and understand on the project you are aiming to invest on.
If you do see XRP to be on potential then its your take.

Right now the "big" coins of the future is already set, those are cake and uni, those are the two big tokens that are based on erc20 and bsc right now allowing people to basically have some sort of profit based on the decentralized swapping. So basically they are the new versions of exchanges we already know, but only on their own blockchains, for example you can't swap a bsc token in eth, and you can't do erc20 token on bsc, they could have a bridge there but it would not be the same, it would be wrapped version so it is not the same. However with bridge they are getting it better as well.

So long story short we are talking about new tech, we are talking about future potential, and we are talking about community, they both have it all. They are already very high, and they are ranked very high, but I believe they have a chance to be in top 10 for a very long time, like be way ahead.

Let us say you have $1000 and you want to invest and get to learn crypto. Take 10% of it and put it in any coin you tried to understand beforehand and did your due diligence on. The best thing that can happen to you is to lose it all quickly, see whether you can handle the heat emotionally and what you can do better next time. That's the best way to get to know how insane this market is.

But generally I agree, if you have no clue whatsoever stick with the established ones that have a long history.

Are you skipping bitcoin? you look at altcoins and then you're wanting to have a long term goal in this market. If that is so, bitcoin is the ideal choice of yours.
It's been proven by me and the others who have held it for more than 5 years which is your goal. In the past it was quite cheaper but as time goes, you see the progress of it and there's more to its price today which shall increase in the future.

Bitcoin is king because it is king is not a reasonable investment advice. Maybe someone else sometimes knows more than us and understands the specificities better. As long as a person believes to understand the upcoming investment, that is the person knows exactly what it is that it is buying, other coins could also be wise choices.

You are correct of what you said my friend maybe the OP cannot afford to buy bitcoin because right now the value of bitcoin is so much expensive and probably they are referring to altcoins which   are best coin for long term hodl.

Bitcoin for me always will remains in my portfolio though I may continue to diversify the portfolio and certain percentage of allocation might change going forward, but eliminating bitcoin to me will not make sense and should always be part as it is a key component in driving the crypto market.

It good to know that you already know about cryptocurrency. Take some time in reading different articles and online tutorials on how cryptocurrency works. You can also earn in different ways jus try to explore what field will fit you. You’re right, investing is the right thing to do know since you’re a newbie here. BTC, ETH and BNB are coins I personally recommend to you then try to explore other coins.

Cryptocurrency is the best choice of assets in my opinion in a pandemic situation like now, so if we start learning to invest in crypto, we are already
on the right track. Expand knowledge about crypto by learning from various trusted sources, so that we can choose which projects are right to buy.
Don't be in a hurry to get profit when we start investing in crypto, because it does require patience and a long process, to truly become
a successful investor in the crypto world. Recommendations for newbies with you suggesting investments in BTC, ETH and BNB are right,
because the three coins are indeed the best for now.

He is aiming for 5 years mate so I guess that Bitcoin is indeed the best candidate to keep the hold and buy.

though this is in speculation altcoin section yet I still keep the word for Bitcoin since he had already decided to invest in altcoin such Ethereum and XRp in which best combination together with Bitcoin.

You’re right, investing is the right thing to do know since you’re a newbie here.
I don't think it's helpful to newbies to let them invest into something that they don't know yet. It was said that before you invest into something you have to understand what you are investing. And since it has been 2 and a half months yet, OP didn't know what is the best crypto to invest yet.

Most of us will suggest Bitcoin since it is widely used and is profitable if handle correctly during bull run but it is also very risky since it's too volatile.

To OP, invest only to something that you understand so you won't regret what you choose to invest and don't ask any special or financial advice to someone that you don't know. You need to do it on your own and head to the internet and do some research. And for best crypto to invest is Bitcoin and the rest of altcoins will vary from your own choices so think and plan it carefully before you invest.

It is going to be very difficult for you to find a coin like that by asking on the forum, on the surface what you are doing makes sense but you need to understand that with so much money at stake there are may people that are interested on people coming to the coins in which they have invested and will say anything to try to convince you to invest on their coins, so if you are really serious about investing in the next ethereum then you have no option but to learn a lot more about cryptocurrencies and then find those coins by yourself.

x100 for 8 years holding?
considering that this happens this year ?

If I'm not mistaken , the price of bitcoin back in 2013 is 100$ or so meaning if we will evaluate the price from that to this year,, meaning this is more than 400 folds of profit and not only 100 folds mate.

do you really have a friend or this is just an imaginary ?

I think bitcoin is the best coin in the long run if wanna hold a coin for the next five years, then go with BTC trust me when you will see your wallet five years later, you'll notice an amazing profit.

In the meantime, you have to keep your private key safe because the period of five years is not short and you may lose your private key. But if you have a hardware wallet then no worries just buy bitcoin and forget for the next five years.

Yes,,, but maybe because this is the altcoin speculation thread?;)

You are right though,,, Junior students or old man, if this is your first time in crypto, do your own research BUT meanwhile buy Bitcoin until you are more confident and know for sure what to invest in. Everything else is a bigger risk (yes bigger potential for profit too but you want to be safe as a first timer).

That reminds me of two years ago where I was one of the guest speakers in a cryptocurrency roadshow event held in a well-known university in the Philippines. In a Q&A session, one student raised his hand and provided with microphone, asking me and the rest of the speakers on our advice about the best ones to invest while they are still young.

I just shared my opinion to that student that both stocks and crypto are great investments for the future but comes a certain risk such as market situation, volatility, circumstances, etc. I added that risk management is necessary and only invest what he could afford to lose.

For long-term investment, no questions asked for BTC and ETH.

Now it's May 27, 2021, At present, what other currencies have great potential (such as eth XRP in those years), and I also want to invest in them   Put it still, and then look at it five years later. Please give me some advice

In this cryptocurrency market people can make a lot of money and can also lose a lot of money, but there is one fundamental rule that you always have to be aware of:

bitcoin when it falls it always carries the altcoins with it

bitcoin when it goes up always carries the altcoins with it

the price of altcoins in relation to the dollar always goes up a lot or down a lot depending on the price of bitcoin

the price of altcoins in relation to bitcoin goes up a lot or down a lot depending on the altcoin's own demand

In this current scenario where the bitcoin price is in a situation where it can drop a lot, I would recommend you to wait for the bitcoin price to be above 42000$ to buy long term or so if you have a lot of patience then buy now but don't go into panic every time you see the price drop a lot, in case bitcoin drops a lot then the altcoins will be much worse, as I explained to you, so know that if you buy altcoins then you should be twice as patient every time you see the price drop

I did not know you were from there,,, I have seen your nick before but wow, amazing to hear crypto lectures in universities. I guess the problem with young people (myself included when I was young) is that we were bright but also we were stupid. We knew where to find information but we did not have streetsmart to know and identify possible scams.

Which is where crypto is so dangerous as there are way more scams than legit projects. I would always say expect to lose money. Except Bitcoin long term.

Thank you for sharing:)

I would rather collect some crypto assets as an investment for the long term as you wish for the next 5 years...
1.Bitcoins/BTC. ...
2. Ethereum / ETH. ...
3. Binance Coin / BNB. ..
4. Bitcoin Cash. ...
5. Litecoins. ...
6.Dogecoin/DOGE. ...
7. Basic Attention Token / BAT
no XRP Because in my opinion “XRP has no clear utility at the moment in terms of contributing to global financial inclusion. But XRP can be used as an attractive trading instrument because it has high volatility, in terms of price, XRP also does not perform well. In US dollars, the current XRP price is still far from the ATH price in December 2017, in contrast to BTC which has experienced a 3x increase from ATH in December 2017. This further confirms that there are no new players transacting XRP.

I have a friend who got x100 profit from buying BTC and holding it after 8 years. The only thing stopping people from getting a good result with this market is trust, if you are ready for this market then I think sooner or later if you believe in the market then you will have good results.
x100 for 8 years holding?
considering that this happens this year ?

If I'm not mistaken , the price of bitcoin back in 2013 is 100$ or so meaning if we will evaluate the price from that to this year,, meaning this is more than 400 folds of profit and not only 100 folds mate.

do you really have a friend or this is just an imaginary ?

You should not analyze too closely those figures, I just want to give a specific number and a relative time period. Rather my friend invested about $40k, and he sold them and recounted to me more than $6m and it's from 2017 :) , do you want more analysis on the numbers, I can give you more numbers to give you an idea of the person you are thinking I am imagining :)

My friends have a lot of people who see money now as just numbers, for this market it's just numbers, but that's not me.

depend on what coin you need to trust because if You friend has it in bitcoin then He is really in safe hands but if that is in Shitcoins or memecoins then he must be in trouble at some point if the coins got no progress and died eventually.
Not like in Bitcoin that assurance of increase are indeed .

This should be the norm and yet things are changing, when bitcoin was worth a few hundred dollars people still thought of it as a cheap coin and they had no problem investing in it and hold it for the long term, and only after some time passed they decided to move part of their money to altcoins, however now the price of bitcoin is so high that many of them decide to skip bitcoin and go directly to altcoins, something that seems like a terrible idea to me.

The best way to see which coin is best for investment is by spending some time in crypto market and see how market is behaving. Read about news and updates regarding different coins. Another good source is this forum, spend some time reading what experts are saying about crypto. Dont just seek advice here and act.

Everyone is a learning kid in the crypto industry because no one can ever say that which coin is going to be the future coin like bitcoin or ethereum, I would say the chances of another coin to emerge over the existing ones because there is no uniqueness on the new projects, all of them created as profit-making by few groups of people.

Just invest in bitcoin then you won't be disappointed in the next 5 years.

That is a risky move to be honest knowing how hard it is to determine which coin will still make it after five years. There's a huge possibility that bitcoin would surely make it through considering its stability and position right now. Ethereum has a huge chance of survival too if ever it can follow through bitcoin like it always did. Other altcoins has a lot of potential too, just take a look at other investors suggestions and make sure that they are worth your trust and time. After all, investing has always been a risk so if you are planning for a five year time capsule, might as well rethink if maybe you can start earning already right now.

You are taking the wrong approach with this, I understand that you want to find the next big thing that will take over the market and make you a fortune, after all who does not like the idea of something like that happening to them?

But this is unlikely especially when your knowledge about the market is so limited, what we need to do is at first to concentrate on the market leaders like bitcoin, only once you have proven to yourself you can make money long term with the best coin in the market you could have a chance to invest in other coins, but before you do that do not bother with other coins.

Everyone is always looking for the next bitcoin and ethereum which is why they invest in new coins all the time, but even if there is a chance that a new project emerges and makes it to the top 10 we need to consider how many coins are created each year and the very low odds that we are going to select it among so many coins, with that in mind it is better to play it safe and invest in good coins, after all at some point bitcoin made 12x in a single year, if that is not enough then that person is simply too greedy.

I personally prefer to invest in coins that have a chance of mass adoption...

besides Bitcoin you can invest in polygon matic, tron, polkadot, bnb or bch for the long term. you buy some now and hold for the next 5 years, surely you will see a high increase in the coins I mentioned but still DWYOR.

If you know what you are doing then that is fine my problem with this is that newbies try to do something like this and this is a problem as they do not really know what they are doing, also it seems they seem to think they can actually buy one coin and not check what is it happening with it for five years and we know this is not the case, for example we know that developers reissue the coins from time to time because they made an upgrade and if you do not exchange your coins during the time limit then you lose them, so you need to check what is happening with the coin at least once a week.

If you are finding any long term coin then you should invest in most famous coins. e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, ADA and Matic. These are strong project and most famous coins for long term. If you check their chart you will find that they keep growing and still haven't stopped. So choice is yours I am only telling you my opinion.

You are not recommending bad coins however when it comes to such a long term we must remember that this market is relatively young especially if we compare it to other markets that have been around for more than one hundred years so anyone that is interested and willing to hold for that long needs to only hold bitcoin, as it is the only coin we have any guarantee it is going to exist for that long, while the other coins as good as they are could disappear despite their strength.

Take a look at Polkadot, its very potential, when the bullish come back im pretty sure DOT will surpass last ATH and will go to price discovery mode.
It could lead to the sky without limit, could be x2 from ATH or more.
