Title: IDO and KYC
Post by: S3300 on May 31, 2021, 06:17:31 AM
Is there any IDO platform that doesn't require KYC? Also I'm confused because and this question might sound a little off but I just want to know, aren't all IDO platforms decentralized? If Yes why the need for KYC?

They need KYC to avoid the legal problem with the countries that restricted its citizens to participated in the IDO. Even when IDO was fully decentralized and it can be shut down by the police and creator can be jailed by violating the rules to let the people from prohibited countries to participated in the sale. I guess all of IDO platforms will be making KYC as mandatory.
It's not only for IDO platform but the project that who will launch ido will be affected by this decision as well.

Unfortunately KYC is mandatory for all IDO platforms and this is why I don't participate in any IDO but wait for the projects to get listed on popular exchanges before buying, you have to make a choice between doing KYC verification or staying away from any IDO fundraising

https://www.polkastarter.com
To participate, you need to have Polkastarter (POLS) tokens in your Ethereum wallet.
There, too, some projects require you to go through the KYC procedure, but some do not.
You complete tasks and you have a chance to buy some tokens. (analogue of Coinlist)

So it doesn't ends at buying and holding the tokens to get qualified? You still have to complete some tasks again? It's like the idea of binance launchpad today where you have to build up your chances to rank and get qualified, why are they doing this? It's why ICO is the best if you look at it from this point of view

IDO platforms are not decentralized, it's a general misconception. Most of these projects IDO platforms offering is not even decentralized, it's like stocks. KYC is needed for all platforms I know, I don't remember any platform that don't require KYC. It's needed to prevent multi accounters, fake people etc. to join and to apply anti money laundering rules.

IDO is become trending because possible to gain multiple profit just in short times from it. This trend like ICO on 2017.  I find these 2 IDO decentralize platform, no need KYC to participate IDO there, those platform are https://www.bakeryswap.org/#/ido for BSC tokens, and https://raydium.io/acceleraytor/ for SPL (Solana Program Library) tokens.

You have to pass KYC verification if you want to take advantage of IDO or wait to buy on listed exchanges which means buying at higher price already, some coins would have triple in value when IDO is over and trading is live on exchange

Firstly note KYC is mandatory in participating in any IDO it is Done to ensure that participate don't belong to restricted area
Ido became successful after the end of 2017 it is good way to gain high amount within short time frame
But there are few with no KYC like try Bakeryswap ido and raydium juldswap and if there are other please tell me
