Title: Is ICO the best way to invest in cryptocurrency?
Post by: Dharmmie on June 02, 2021, 10:34:21 AM

The IEO price of CSPR is only $0.015, and the highest on the exchange is $66.

Is ICO/IEO/ITO the best way to invest in cryptocurrency now?

Shield DAO is one of next hot ITO projects, I see many KOLs are promoting it.

Should I sell BTC to invest it? :-[

ICO, IEO, ITO, IDO, they are same but adapts with a new name for a new trend. The basic instinct of those crowdfunding is similar, only different on name and the way the market calls it.

Coinlist is a hot trend now but any of those trend (ICO, IEO, ITO, IDO) is not an automatic winning game for every one. There are losers and winners and the number of losers are bigger than numbers of winners.

News write about winners because they are paid to shill a new trend. Losers are hidden and their lost story will only be mentioned when a trend is over.

It is if the project has good potential and the platform is something that will have an impact on the community, then it's good to buy in their ICO stage, ICO is not safe anymore because it's not regulated and the developer can run away with investor's fund, it's been proven so many times in the past and investors do not trust in this kind of crowdfunding they prefer IEO or ITO but never ICO, so do your diligence if you are going to invest in ICO.

Initially, you'd want Bitcoin and Ethereum to be kept.
I won't move that just yet if I were you or even sell it for another coin. But, if you are in profit then you could do so if you cannot wait for a pump to happen again.
Although, if you are still making money and don't need to force yourself to sell those Bitcoins, I would recommend that.
Think of it as a brand new investment.
ICO, IEO, Defi, or even NFT's. They are all the same. High risk is included with whatever project you pick.
You can't justify that ICO is the most profitable since you only used one example out of millions of project that was created. This is a bit of old advice, DYOR.

...Is ICO/IEO/ITO the best way to invest in cryptocurrency now?...

Investing in projects at an early stage of selling coins will remain profitable for a long time. But all platforms on which launchpad is held, with the exception of coinlist, require mandatory retention of coins worth more than 5 thousand dollars. And even holding these coins is not a guarantee that you will get an allocation in the project.

...Is ICO/IEO/ITO the best way to invest in cryptocurrency now?...

I think their is no definite answer to this, it should be based on how you wanted to do, long term or short term. Those ICO in the past produce good returns because we are in the bull run that time, so obviously, the price goes up and many profited easy short term. And after the bull run is finished, those projects tanks, the price goes to even less than a dollar, so if you hold that long then you are going to be disappointed.

So there's no one size fits all in investment.

There are a lot of ways to invest in cryptocurrency. ICO is just one of them. But it's the riskiest day. Recently, Coinlist emerged to be a profitable ICO platform. CSPR is just an example. FIL and ICP (both held ICO on Coinlist) are even multiple times higher. In any method of investing, risk management is very important. If you can accept the risk, ICO might be an option. High risk but juicy return.

ICO is one of the ways to invest earlier in a crypto project and there is one reason why I like ICo, that's because of its freedom of buying the tokens, no KYC forced, though not all of them but majority and anyone can buy the coins or tokens unlike IDO and IEO that depends on you buying some other coins to hold to be able to qualify for the new tokens which is rubbish

that's right, it's just a designation, so basically it still has the same function. for investors there will be no problem with ICO, IEO, IDO, ITO and so on. they are more focused on the research project that will be the launch target. so they can earn big profits. simple aja, without the need to question the name presale.

In my opinion, that is way too risky. High risk, low reward. Not worth it. As a beginner better to stick to Bitcoin. Not a financial advice.

I got my casper dude and i have participated in option 1. I have been making my own 1k USD to the almost 20k USD with the current price.  :D :D

They were using the same mechanism but the only that make them look like different just from their name. They were having the same rules for their investors.

Shield can be a big bet for anyone but it looks like it will be quite difficult to get into it.

This only happens due to hype. I'd rather buy after the listing happens since most of the time you'll see a big dump in the first hours/day. That will be the test required to see whether the project is really working to achieve their goal, or just use the platform to hype and get the money before they ran away.

not really, I think whether an ICO is good or not depends on the project. however, think again before selling the assets you own. If a project you really feel will grow, then take that decision. however, the coin you're referring to, went up so fast because the project development really attracted investors. that's what made the price go up so high.

The best way to invest is to set up an investment fund, choose the best projects and invest in the Series A, B seed round... At least the risk is still lower than investing in an ICO. Many projects hold ICOs and then the value of the token plummets.
Investing in projects that are under development during the bear season will promise better returns than ICOs. Investing in a jerky fashion, FOMO will be difficult, I have tried but still can't buy any projects to unlock coins and tokens in 40 days.

One thing is for sure, if its started from Coinlist, you can expect for a project to be good so if you want to get into a new project as early as possible, better to have account on coinlist and participate on their sale options. ICO is not the only way to invest on cryptocurrency, there's a lot of ways now and honestly, if you're going to invest on the early stage you must know the risk of it and always do your research before investing so you can know if its a good project or not.

depending on how the project can attract more big investors in it. So far, the ICO has proven to all investors and almost of them don't feel disappointed if the program held reaches the target or even exceeds the target. the most important thing is to know what to invest in the project that will contribute greatly to the market.

Should I sell BTC to invest it? :-[
No.

You don't sell your bitcoin to invest into an ICO. If you want to invest into an ICO, use a part of your savings (not in btc) so that you keep both of them. Because if you really think that it's a good project.

You don't have to sacrifice your bitcoin for it. That's my opinion and that's what I'm going to do. I'll keep my bitcoin and will use cash to invest on any project/ICO. But isn't it that ICOs are almost forgotten these days?

It is the trend right now, and while this is the case getting anywhere near these projects is quite exclusive. However, if you can get into any one of these projects, then that's great since you'll probably have a high chance to make profit on your money. So yeah, ICOs, IEOs, IDOs are hot but super exclusive too.

Don't sacrifice your BTC just for this, it was not a good idea.
If you really wanted to take some risk on this project, please have a separate capital for this just to find out if you were able to gain on not. But for the current situation and since the prices of the altcoins are high, you can really make a good return.

I'm not going to say that ICO, IEO, or even Defi are the best way to invest in cryptocurrency but it also depends on the potentiality of the project and we know that many of these projects are worthless, you might get lucky if you'll find one legit and profiting.

ICOs are no longer popular this year mate, currently the popular ones are IDO and IEO,
many new projects on Binance Smart Chain have an ROI of more than 100%, and purchases through pancaswap or DODO also make it easier for users to buy,
yup ICO will be old thing that won't be used anymore, it's too simple

ico is not the best way right now, because when you are unlucky you can lose. You can lose all your money if you invest in the wrong project. better invest in big coins like bitcoin, ethereum and other major coins. or you can join in defi projects and generate passive income.

not really because not everyone will win at it, most will probably lose, but the good news will always be broadcast to add hype to it and the bad news will be hidden.and also not all ico, ieo, ido end well and you will always win, because someone might lose for 5 times and win 1 time in this case. but judging by the number of losses and profits, you can total your profit or loss, and vice versa.

I don't have any luck on coinlist platform, that has been a place for a new good project to raise funds, lucky are those who are able to participate. ICO is one way to raise funds, we have improved now and there's a lot of good options now. Many successful projects today are came from different platform when it comes to raising their funds so I think the success to raise funds depends on the services that you'll offer in the public, if its a good project expect many investors to come in.

I you wanna take the risk by selling your BTC to participate in the trusted ico and then you can take the risk but you must know you have been dealing with a high risk decision.
There's no way to make a lot of money from bitcoin if you are only a small holders. I just say this based on the fact if you can make only 1x - 2x ROI from bitcoin. This is also expecting bitcoin to break another ATH.
ICO is a bit different because it was a new project and you can multiply your money instantly. The decision is yours

That's right, some token sale lately I see can even be more than x50 from the initial price, but not all token sale can be successful as such, usually they follow in platofrm IDO, such as coinlist or polkastarter. Both platforms are highly recommended that there have been many successful projects there, only quite difficult to get a whitelist there.

as long as you are ready to accept the risk of investing in an ico such as an altcoin that ends up being a scam and has no value at all, then just do what you believe that the ico is worth investing in.
The greater the risk, the greater the profit that can be obtained.

I think IDO now is the next ICO just like in the beginning of 2017. The trend of IDO just started so could be good idea to participate in to it. We should be have better risk management for this high risk high return investment. I think, good idea to use only 5% of investment balance for IDO and then try to compounding it. I see IDO is much better than ICO because of the different total amount of target token sale. IDO has lower hardcap than ICO that make easy for the price of token raising.

ICOs are no longer popular this year mate
Pancake and DODO are getting filled by a bunch of shitcoins. IEO is far better than IDO on that dex. ICO is still popular and some big projects with high popularity can get private funding from the various investors.
Some icos were able to do private sales easily and these icos can reach their hardcap in a few minutes of the sale.
The reality is so many people are still seeing ico as a dead crowfunding while the fact said the opposite thing. There are lots of companies that are still using icos to raise the funds from the investors.
ICO was dead is not 100% true statement.

In my opinion, it can't be said to be the best way to invest in cryptocurrency because not all ICO or presale or whatever they are called give many profits for investors. Still, if you want to try to participate, you should look for coins/tokens that the hype then tried your luck to participate in the whitelist because now it is not easy to join the ICO/Presale of a hype coin.

This wasn't a topic to talk about ICO or anything else, this was once again another Shill topic and that is it. The real answer is there is no "right method" to invest into anything, it could be presale, it could be ICO it could be IEO it could be first seconds, it could be first day, it could be when it is a week old, it could be when the chart tells you to buy. Long story short it is obvious that we are living in a period where one news and it could skyrocket or it could drop significantly.

So long story short this topic isn't here to ask you a question, it doesn't care what you think about it at all, the only thing they wanted to do was to promote the coin/token they want to and nothing more, which many people unfortunately take too seriously and go take a look and some of the buy it as well, which in return causes these shills to keep going as well.

ICO,IEO,STO and etc are not the best way to invest in crypto currency and the reason is because the chances of a crypto project at present to succeed from scratch is almost zero, maybe very few project got hype with media influence and give profits in the short term but I don't see any project created with a long term vision.

You must be a good researcher because I have all kinds of results. CASPER prices haven't fallen yet. It does not mean that ICO must be the best way to invest. Even SOME Binance IEO wasn't as successful as we thought. CASPER prices will crash below ICO price in two years. Some cases are really exceptional but most of the ICO aren't legit yet.

even if the ico, ieo are often excellent earning opportunities, they are not all valid automatically, sometimes it also takes a bit of luck, intuition in investments, coinlist is a good platform to look for new investments but you have to be careful because also if the value of a token is relatively small during the ico it can happen that at the end all investors and bounty hunters sell then the price instead of going up goes down

Actually ICO is no longer like 2017-2018. Right now IDO is trending and i have seen a lot of IDO project launched in last few months and most of them raised bigger amount. Recently i just seen Student Coin raised over 50 million USD from Private Sale though i haven’t enough proof it’s true or not.
Those CEOs treated bounty hunters as beggers. Student coins distributed 1/3 ETH of bounty allocation. We should avoid this type of ICO or leave after the success projects. I don't understand why "Bounty detective" doesn't agree with the escrow service. At least cheaper projects (ICO) won't success. Can you provide some IDO lists to do my research?

Investing in a coin with a high capitalization of risk is less. However, investing in ICOs sometimes brings more profit if the project is in demand. At the same time, most of these projects even turn out to be unprofitable for investors. Therefore, there can be no general advice here. We can take a risk and get a good profit, or we can lose our money. Therefore, here everyone should study and analyze before making an investment.

There was a time in which ICOs were completely crazy and you could make huge profits with them, this included going ICO and selling the next day a twice the price and more. However there was a time in which many people got caught. Nowadays, ICOs are much weaker and is more difficult to grad the interest of the people, also bitcoin has produced decent results lately so it makes sense to keep a lot on it. ICO can be good if you really know the team and take your time to understand the real possibilities and wait for a couple of years. Believe it or not some of the 2018 ICOs are paying off now.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with ICO projects that have large partners from several companies, but of most ICOs launched only one or two have good partners, while the rest are just scams, so everyone thinks that ICOs are no longer good for business followed now.
Yes, it is correct. ICO is just for a short term investment and the trend will change so we need to be careful to choose the right projects. But if we see what is happening in the crypto market, sometimes the ICO can scam us anytime. So maybe we can select bitcoin as the best investment for the short term and long term. If you really want to invest in ICO, I suggest not using too big money because we do not know if that ICO can give us profit or scam us. It is better to have bitcoin than to invest in ICO.

There are still some ICO that worth to invest especially if you found them very unique and have good foundation. Some projects do ICO in order for them to get funds to continue or make their product. Developing their websites, social media ads and many more. It’s more in developing stage. I think it’s not the best way to invest in crypto, there are still huge percentage that they project might down easily due to many people get early exit after they released in the market. Investing in present tokens that have great foundation in the market is the best thing to do rather than investing thru ICO.

No, it is not the best way to invest in crypto currencies. The only best way to invest is through investing your hard earned money on coins that have been in the market for very long, trusted by the people, active development and community. Coins that are very well established. Investing in ICO is very risky. Look at the past years. Most of the ICOs didn't end well. You either get scammed or lose everything. You may make some fast profit, but you have to be very lucky. So its up to you. Are you willing to take high risks?

For me yeah ieos/idos are a good investment but it's also depends on where you put your money. Not all new projects give very big profit. Some of them give good return but how most of the projects show their roi is not true. And now a days investing in good idos are very very hard to get in. But if you get the chance grap itm but first do some research about the project. And one more thing invest all your money in idos or ieos are not a good idea. Now it's upto You.

ICO is the beginning of many ways of investing, now it is better IEO or IDO in case you do not want to do many procedures.
If the project has good use in real life then it will be successful, no matter if it was ICOs, IEOs, IDOs.
Investors and developments will arrive, the currency will rise in price and will be successful. If it is the opposite then it will be one more junk coin...

OP mentioned the ICO, but here I saw IEO was finished. OP thinks ICO is the best when IEO is successfully finished. We have enough experience to invest in ICO but we can't help others when others don't have time to research. A good exchange makes these things easy by providing IEO. A bad exchange IEO is better than a bad ICO. Maybe in the last quarter ICO could be a good investment.

Early stage tokensale these days can easily make you 10 or 20X so yeah coinlist is really hot trend now only problem is the queue that you will have to follow So get ready for that if you decide to use coinlist Also most allocations these days are like 100 bucks

Although they are likely the same as one of the fundraising methods, I don't think that ICO is a good method for right now.
IEOmaybe better, as long as the token or coin is listed or doing IEO in the reputable exchanges. It may be quite difficult to do IEO in the top exchanges at first. However at least, the exchange has a good reputation, high volume and cap, and also it is trusted.

However, before deciding to buy the token or coin in IEOor another fundraising, we must also analyze the project itself, including all elements that ensure that the project is legit, not a scam or even shitcoin tobe  ;D

That is very right. Aside from checking which exchange is the project holding their IEO, one should scrutinize the project regarding their capability to deliver their objectives. But if they are holding IEO in top exchanges, at least you know, they have passed some strict requirements. But don't get too complacent with the exchange itself, as has been suggested, you still need to do your own assessment towards the project.

ICO is the best way to invest in cryptocurrency during the time when crowdfunding are still using to start a new cryptocurrency asset. But time passed and have to upgrade in other method many Initial procedures were existing and that Initial Exchange offering and Initial DEX offiring which are working effective method.

I think investing in ico isn't good anymore and it's too risky. There's a lot of good coins and already has working product (Top coins on CMC), so i personally dont want to put my money in ICO especially many of it just base on hype and there have been many examples of scam ico.

I think investing in ico isn't good anymore and it's too risky.
people who wanna get a lot of profit must take the risk. Im sure about that. Remember when they have bought the tokens that already traded in the market they can earn profit from there but it will be very less compared with when they can try to join in the legit ico. that will give them all another chance to buy the legit coin at the bottom price.
There are lots of projects are still launching their ico and so many people are still in demand to take the risk by investing on it. The investors known so well about what they have done.
some ICOs have given us experience in the past. many with the risk of scams as well as many who have succeeded and developed in the crypto market to date.
investors must make their own choices to choose the ICO project that is really qualified for them. and of course, they already know the risks.

for 2017 maybe the ICO is still very good for investment or entering at the beginning of the presale price which is very cheap, but you must know that this year the ICO is not very attractive and cannot guarantee profit because now is the era of IEO or IDO.
even IEO is not very popular for now. IDO may be more eyed for investors as something newer.
but for me, IEO being a solution that is actually still very good to run. unfortunately, not many of the good new projects can use a good exchange for their projects.

I believe that trading is preferable to investing in an ICO. ICOs are no longer a smart idea; there are many businesses out there nowadays that aren't worth investing in. Many of the schemes are bogus, and the others will fail. This type of investment will only harm you.Being a trader is, in my opinion, preferable to investing in an initial coin offering (ICO). ICOs are no longer a good thing; there are many enterprises being launched today that aren't worth investing in. Many ventures are fraudulent, and the remainder will fail. This type of investment is only going to harm you.

according to your question "Is the ICO is the best way to invest in cryptocurrency?" probably if you asking back in 2017 I would answer yes. But now, in 2021 we have a larger option than only ICO or whatever sale is called. I mean, the crypto sphere now has DeFi with various investment options. You can do staking, you can do farming, you can lend, and many more. ICO is a good choice too, but try to expand your vision and try another option too.

Be it ICO, IEO, IDO, ILO, or ITO - all fall under one category, which is ‘Fundraising.’ You can invest in any of the aforementioned offerings, and each is best in its own way. The only thing you have to consider is the credibility of the project you are investing in.

Currently, ICO is outdated and most new projects today do not use this method to attract capital.
We lived in 2021 not 2017, and now there are many new and profitable forms like IEO, IDO.

So it depends on whether a good institution in when investing.

When I first learned about ICO opportunities, and this was in 2017, I was pleasantly surprised how easy and simple it is to raise funds to launch your project or product. I remember how then many projects were able to raise unrealistically large amounts of money and then it seemed like a great opportunity. Now it is no longer so good and profitable, since the market has grown and there are many competitors on the market, while other systems have emerged as an alternative to ICO, for example IEO. Of course, ICO still enjoys little success, but unfortunately not the same as it was at the very beginning.

When I sold BTC to participate in the ITO of Shirld DAO, I realized that it can only invest up to 1000USDT :(

ito ? is this the latest ?
but this could be better than ico . the only disadvantage of them is that you cant invest higher amounts but isnt it great ?
because they are controlling the risk and you can only loose small if ever the project didnt go well but profit would still be better if they became a success because you started at the begining and more people will invest eventually .

In any case, you should not make a mistake with the choice of a coin for investment. But as practice shows, any IEO and IDO, which is held at the stage of public sale of tokens on Binance, Polkastarter or Daomaker, gives a guaranteed profit to participants. But not everything is so simple, to get this profit, you need to win a lottery to get coins.

ICO? NO
IDO? YES
Deedy.Digital - DOUBLE YES

Because they are going to launch their an NFT platform very very soon
It is not ads and not financial advice, but still recommend you to google this project

I wouldn't agree with above.

Projects in both ICO / IDO phases can be scams, but also be very profitable and outstanding project.

I believie ICO is very good way to invest, but only after analysing the project, DYOR, and asking questions. I would advise never to ape into project without more than basic knowledge regarding project and team.

everything is just like playing luck too if you have to hope to win the lottery too.
but either way an IEO on binance or a publicly listed asset on binance is sure to create hype. although after we will see how the price will return and see how the interest from the developer community is.

None of them is more preferable, i won't even think of investing on any upcoming project because that is another good way to deceive  you and have your cool BTC, ETH, USDT and the rest potential currencies under your custody.
what i does, i only invest on a project already listed on CMC with a high liquidity, just forget about any hype project and manage your funds very well instead i would advised you to investment on BTC and ETH as another great move is coming soon!

Can't agree with you. ICO makes no sense today. I suggest you to take a look at Deedy Digital, they will have an IDO and NFT platform soon where you can trade, sell, buy, rent NFTs, enter lotteries etc.

Deedy was unpopular. It doesn't have lots people on its community. I know this one and what you are saying was totally non sense thing. So many icos were getting launched on the launch pad and it creates very big ROI to the participant https://cryptorank.io/ieo-platforms-roi

You can check it by yourself. you can also try to check ROI through icodrop as well.

I don't care if it's ICO, IEO or even DEFI. for me as long as the project has a great chance of surviving in the crypto market, especially having real use cases, then it is not a problem to invest in it. but don't forget to research again as a whole. I hope you're lucky.

no one forbids you to invest anywhere, it's your money...

but you don't carelessly put your money, it's a pity if you lose a lot of money because of the wrong investment. selling Bitcoins you have to invest in these coins I don't think is a wise thing, think again carefully.

ICO, IEO, IDO I can't rate any as the best way to invest in cryptocurrency but I'll say if you get the right ICO and participate it will definitely double what you bought aside that some ICO are just fake and scams
After ICO you'll get a news like Admin ran with the money or a big holder in the company. Before you invest you just need to trust and make research on the project before investing

It certainly is. If ICOs really provide a solution to an existing problem, they will definitely bring high returns in the future. In my opinion, it makes much more sense than daily trades because you don't have to follow a coin every day that you research and study and find reasonable.

Agreed, so many icos have been proven that if these can become reliable projects and more than 80% coins in the top 100 CMC were coming from the icos. people were abandoning this but they didn't know how potential the ico right now.
Binance, ethereum, DOT and almost all of the smartcontract tokens were coming from the icos. It seems like that people started to forget about that while icos were still creating more and more new legit project.
Legit icos can be used as a long term hodl like binance.
