Post by: m88nb8y on June 06, 2021, 12:08:13 AM
Does anyone have a list of websites like Coinpal that had used PayPal for BTC in the past?

Just to be clear, are you after an exchange that offered such conversions in a particular period of time [e.g. back in 2014] or just a list of all exchanges that offer such a thing?
- If it's the former, you might want to specify its period and provide as many details as you can in regards to the exchange in question.

Is that Coinpal.eu?  It seems like a Bitcoin mixer going to Paypal right?

I didn't hear any alternative but as what I have got in my short research, Coinpal doesn't have a good reputation, many had a complaint about scamming incident using Coinpal.  But anyway, they have a thread here before but now it is locked, CoinPal beta - Buying bitcoins with PayPal (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2555.0).

What you're concern here?  Buying Bitcoin using Paypal?  I think it is easy for now to buy Bitcoin using Paypal and Paypal was recently announced that users can able to transfer their Bitcoin to another wallet or external wallet through Paypal and I think there's no need to use another third party site.

Or use a Bitcoin mixer and here is a 2021 List Bitcoin Mixers Bitcoin Tumblers Websites (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827109.0).

I think he's talking about coinpal.ndrix.com. One would buy Bitcoin using PayPal through them, but they stopped business (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2555.msg101084#msg101084) sometime back citing fraud (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=93770.0)

Coinpal.eu looks like scam, they even use come template I have seen before for another mixing site.

According to Bestchange, very few exchangers seem to offer exchanging PayPal USD for BTC. I can only see magnatus on the list  -https://www.bestchange.com/paypal-usd-to-bitcoin.html

I remember I've used one but I forgot the name of that exchange and its website's design is very simple yet fine.

They've closed I think last year or two years ago. I'm trying to find that particular exchange that has the SLL / BTC conversion. But I cannot find any article on it, google search don't show the results from years ago.

It's not related and both are different services. You're talking about Coinpal.eu (a scam (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827109.msg29058223#msg29058223)) and the link of the topic you posted is about coinpal.ndrix.com.

Contrary to what you may think, it is not so easy to buy or sell bitcoins through Paypal. And due to the nature of the risk of using this payment processor, sellers often charge an exorbitant price. Like 20 or 30% above the market.
Yet there is not thousand of place to do it

A Bitcoin mixer isn't going to help in his/her case since none deal with Paypal.

...

Probably it was Wirwox? The website people also used to buy a currency for a vidéo game (second life?)
Yeah, they closed in January last year.

You can check the old versions of websites that has a list of this by putting in their link on https://web.archive.org/ (as per wikipedia "largest and oldest web archive in the world")

some are:

  • https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.net/paypal/

oldest webpage archived is on 2017 but some for sure have been in business before 2017, and for that you can use archive.org again to check if they had accepted paypal in your chosen year.
