Title: got a virus on my antminer l3+ Post by: oscartheprofessor on June 08, 2021, 06:20:20 PM few days ago i got my first new l3+ and stupid me i havent change the passoword so he got hacked....
i try to flash it with an sd card of 16g but nothing happend...at 19.00 my local time take over the miner and change the pool address... i dont know more what to do... i download the last l3+ firmaware and flash it.... but maybe i did somethings wrong .... do the internet cable need to be connected during the flashing??,,, and after its flash ... how can i see if he really did it ? maybe its the sd card ??? its new...but 2 or 3 times i disconnected just by pulling it out but after i have been format it at 32 fat and place in the file ... im kind of lost... Title: Re: got a virus on my antminer l3+ Post by: jackg on June 08, 2021, 09:52:56 PM I'd suggest going out and buying a new sd card that will fit it and trying to redo it with that - I think it's possible to install antminer firmware from a new sd card just make sure you copy the relevant stuff across from bitmain's support pages.
Otherwise look up how to format the drive via a disk utility on your computer (but you might expose your computer to malware and your own inexperience if you try to do that). Title: Re: got a virus on my antminer l3+ Post by: BitMaxz on June 08, 2021, 11:33:59 PM Try it again from the start redownload the SD card firmware and flash it again.
Check this guide below for the right procedure. - https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000216034-L3-L3-and-L3-Control-Board-Program-Recovery Sometimes the issue is that the card reader is full of dirt so cleaning them might solve your issue and sometimes the issue is a fake SD card so use authentic SD card and try to flash it again. Your ASIC is a cryptojacking victim :) its not a virus , someone gained access to your miner , and changed some settings there , redirected the hash power to his own account probably :) , even they can lock you out from your own miner .... My suggestion is completely reinstall the Latest offical Bitmain Antminer L3+ software (https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=AntMiner%20L3%2B) on your asic from SD card Instruction how to do the firmware reloading from SD card is HERE (https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000216034-L3-L3-and-L3-Control-Board-Program-Recovery) After reinstalled the software , make sure you are not using the default login information. Also... if you have a static ip , try to change that ip somehow ,call your internet provider and ask them to assign a new IP for that location. Title: Re: got a virus on my antminer l3+ Post by: xxcsu on June 14, 2021, 12:49:38 AM You can call it virus ,that's fine , let say its a virus what 'crypto jacking" your miner ;)
Be careful if you have one ASIC " infected " and you have more than one ASIC , within a short period of time all of your ASIC will be a "crypto jacking victim" , or we can say infected with a virus :) If there is no signature protection on the firmware you are using, that "virus" simply gets through the ASIC firmware script. To protect your ASICs from getting infected, install Bitman firmware (released after December 1, 2019) all on your asic you have. The network device password and ASIC password always must to be different ! If the infected ASIC gets into the network, it will infect the others despite the firewall. HERE IS some info for you , How to Save your ASICs (https://medium.com/hiveon/how-to-save-your-asics-breaking-virus-update-e2767d6888bf) , if you know how to run some commands Title: Re: got a virus on my antminer l3+ Post by: oscartheprofessor on June 14, 2021, 10:35:41 PM You can call it virus ,that's fine , let say its a virus what 'crypto jacking" your miner ;) Be careful if you have one ASIC " infected " and you have more than one ASIC , within a short period of time all of your ASIC will be a "crypto jacking victim" , or we can say infected with a virus :) If there is no signature protection on the firmware you are using, that "virus" simply gets through the ASIC firmware script.
