What keeps them from worrying? While at the moment, I don't see a good reason to do so.

Anyway. is this some sort of advertising space? like in 2008 wherein people can buy ads in pixels and own it forever? or is there some game mechanics behind the map?

Here, only one conclusion suggests itself, you need to invest a lot in promotion and advertising. After that, there will be interest.
