Title: MyCryptoMixer scam exit?
Post by: jhnbegood on June 19, 2021, 01:36:37 PM
2 days ago I sent about 3BTC to MyCryptoMixer and still didn't receive my money.
Mycryptomixer.com and mymixerxtukle6mo.onion is down and MyCryptoMixer@protonmail.com didn't respond to my emails.

Does anyone know anything about what happened?

Confirmed that the site is not working right now. (tried the clean net)

Previously They have also some Scam accusation but those are not were clear proof or it was solved. But suddenly site crashing is make a sense to think negative. Now wait for them to clarify it. I can see their official account was also active yesterday. So hopefully they will come to answer , and solve it. :)

If you want, I can verify the PGP key for you if you PM the full code. Note that the forum uses Cloudflare, which is very probably an NSA honeypot (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2485318.msg25458974#msg25458974) and PMs are not secure.
Alternative:
create (https://protonmail.com/signup) a Protonmail (https://protonmail.com/) account. My email:
Code:
LoyceVswitzerland@protonmail.com
This way, the email has end-to-end encryption and should be secure. There's of course always the risk of your (or my) computer being compromised.
If you send me the full code, I'll confirm (or deny) it's authenticity here, without publishing your addresses. If the scam is confirmed, that's enough to justify negative feedback and a Flag.

Confirmed that the site is not working right now. (tried the clean net)
I can confirm mymixerxtukle6mo.onion is down too.

I have no experience of using this mixer before but was it a trusted mixer site where you were comfortable depositing 3 BTC ?
Normally new sites when see the deposit of 3 bitcoin could easily think to stop the business and scam this amount which is big enough for them.  :(

Hello,
Last days we have suffered multiple DDOS and ransom attacks and spent most of the time securing our frontend infrastructure.

As we were working on it Bitcoin node failed to synchronize around a few hundred blocks and that's something we have unfortunately missed.

All transactions along with this one have been successfully sent now.

We will probably launch the TOR version today while we upgrade our clearnet DDOS protection.

@jhnbegood: can you confirm this?

They have had a few issues in the past. Just check out their thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5235190)

There was also one complaint about 13 BTC that was lost in the Mixer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319713.0), $600K at that time but it eventually got resolved.

Now I am not discouraging you from using the mixer but use it with care.

Was it possible for you to announce this important information on your social media platforms (if any) or here on the bitcointalk so that people were aware why your site was down ?  Without any information, we could only thought of an scam exit  ???

That case was not resolved (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319713.msg56679418#msg56679418), but there was also no evidence he even used MyCryptoMixer.

It seems they have provided a pgp key. I do not understand why they will provided pgp key to you. And I am surprised to see that you have deposited 3btc on this so called  site. I am calling it so called as I don't think it is reputed site also I have checked and found that the website is not working for now and you have lost the fund if you really send the fund to them.

This is the letter of guarantee which is the only way to prove that the accuser sent his coins to one of the mixer's address as it contains the receiving address and is signed by the mixer's PGP key. Without it you can't accuse them of anything since no one is going to believe you.
In this scam accusation thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319713), for example, OP claimed he sent 13 btc to mycryptomixer but he couldn't prove it because he didn't download the LoG. No one can tell if he really sent the coins to the mixer or just making things up.

OP already confirmed receiving his 3 btc. He should mark this thread as solved.

That's still a problem though, if they are having some problems with their mixer, then it will still make their reputation questionable for some of the onlookers. Even if you use it with care, there are things out on the website that aren't definitely not within our reach.

You can reply that on that thread, not on here. This thread should be locked as the main problem already resolved. Gonna report this thread to moderator to get lock ASAP. What's point though to disscuss about different problem on same thread
