Too bad that just after the approval of his extradition, this has happened. There could be a twist with his death.

Kinda shocked to be honest. I remembered him of his hilarious interview about eating his dick if BTC doesn't reach $1,000,000 by the end of 2020. Maybe he was so stressed while behind bars, it's like he can't take it anymore. Imagine that you are there without getting access to internet, cryptos, etc. Living inside the prison is indeed boring, especially if he spends so many months, years or so in there.

There was no prove that it was a suicide, he was actually found dead in the prison before extradition, which calls for concerns especially because of the  timing of death.The investigation was led by the Catalan justice department within the 24 hours, with all indication of sucide. I Hope the Americans can dig deeper into the cause of death, The Spanish authority cant be trusted with this.

I couldn't say he hasn't helped spread the word about cryptocurrency after all John had been speaking in public conferences about Bitcoin in the past. If you have been investing or even doing bounty hunting in the past and made money out of his shilling activity I think you can somehow appreciate some of his works.

John dead in jail is going to be shrouded with theories the fact that he is about to be extradited due to his tax case. I'd like to see pictures of his dead body actually. None so far. A funeral isn't just going to make me believe it.

RIP. He was a total nutcase, and probably not a very good person on the whole, but what a wild guy. I think that he first really came to my attention when he participated in the 2016 Libertarian Party presidential primary. It was also around that time that he really got into the crypto scene IIRC, though searching the forum, apparently he was into Bitcoin at least as early as 2013.

His death will probably always be a mystery. Maybe he faked his own death, similar to how he escaped Belize by expertly disguising himself. Maybe he was suicided, as he claimed might happen. But he was mentally unstable to begin with, and I can definitely believe that he could've killed himself, especially due to his difficult situation. In any case, he'd be happy with all of this discussion and mystery which will long survive him.

Towards the last leg of his life, he turned into this full-time rebel who seemed like he wanted to lead an anti-establishmentarian cult revolution. He frequently gave interviews denouncing taxes and went as far as refusing to pay them, for which he was pursued.

We'll never know whether he actually believed all this or did it for the antics. Considering that he earned a lot by shilling ICOs to his followers back in 2017, on top of getting paid to do it, one can safely assume that he wasn't a very nice person.

So many ideals behind Bitcoin, so much hard work and spirit of benefiting humanity in crypto, yet it mostly end up like this. False promises to enrich themselves. From the scams to the false prophets. Well, the chapter is now closed so there is little else to say than, Rest in Peace, John McAfee.

He is a shitcoin shiller but don't forget what he said, crypto is our last hope to get the financial freedom so move towards it and eliminate the fiat money system as much as we can will help to attain this mainstream adoption more faster.

I’m torn between thinking maybe it was suicide as he was a bit of a lunatic, the years & years of drug abuse can send you insane. I also think he could have been murdered. I dunno, maybe he faked his own death & bribed the authorities to escape imprisonment.

You do not have even to think about how to make people panic or even manipulate the market. But you will always on the crypto world history. At least, he does not have to eat his dick and people can not collect his debt.

He was arrested for tax evasion and commited suicide when learning that he'll be extradited to the US. Is tax evasion such a big crime in the US that death seems like a better option to him? I mean, in my country, you might even get away with zero prison time if you pay all the taxes back as an act of goodwill before being convicted and then probably pay some fines once convicted. Then again, he clearly had some mental issues and issues with the law even prior to this whole tax evasion story... He wasn't good for the crypto market with his manipulative statements, and it seems that he generally wasn't a particularly good person, but it's still sad that he felt so hopeless that decided to commit suicide or was killed (I don't think he was, but given how he said before that if he's found dead, he's killed, it's possible).

Mcafee has definitely earned himself some enemies in his time. However, whatever your view might be regarding his exploits in anti virus protection or indeed cryptocurrencies, and of course not to forget his lifestyle in general. Its never nice to hear about someone's death. I'm not a big fan of any of his work to be honest, but he definitely had people talking about him while he was alive, and I'm sure he loved that. Of course, the circumstances of his death are going to fuel the Epstein comparisons, and his legend will probably become something regularly referenced in the next few decades.

Well even if we see him as a clown in crypto community we must admit that he was a big help and made a huge contribution to where crypto is right now.
But there is something that keeps on my mind is it really true?
Did he really commit suicide? Or did someone else killed him?
Or is it just a public stunt to be free like what we see on some movies some people faking their death.

Social media is really hyping his death about conspiracy theory where he tattooed his $WHACKD on his biceps because he was warned by someone that they are coming to get him.

How much does he have in crypto that he had to be killed at his age. A few more months or a year I think he will be dead actually, so if wouldn't really have to kill himself for that fact.

To be honest, it sounds like either a murder or a bribed escape. But I tend more towards the former, because I suppose the US authorities will ask for evidence..?

Anyway, this is fucked up no matter how we take it. We supposedly live in a fair system, but the reality says otherwise. Rest in piece to the man if he's dead, and best of luck to him if he's successfully escaped the sentence. This, the Epstein thing, the Ross sentence.. they all speak loud words we all keep ignoring. You never know who's next, and only when we go through this we realize this is something unacceptable.

It's a very sad story to kill yourself after you say nine months before that if this happens, it will definitely not be your will. With Epstein, I think the comparisons are not very fair, because John was not accused of pedophilia and he himself made this comparison, I think only referring to the very fact of suicide. If we think the reason behind his suicide he did was just because of the stress of living in prison like the law in that country is great enough to treat all classes of society even though mcfree is a rich person and the case he is accused of is also tax evasion  In my country, corruptors live comfortably in prison and can even go out to watch football outside the city.  Apart from that, Rest In Piece John Mcfree.

There's no doubt that Mr. McAfee did something great in our society. He created the first commercial anti-virus and indeed a pioneer in that field. Although some may hate him in his recent shillings, he still deserves a recognition for his work. Rest in peace sir.

He was found dead in a prison cell but no one has been able to confirm his death.
