A news just got out that our once crypto shiller and pumper, the CEO of the popular McAfee Anti-virus software, MR. JOHN MCAFEE is dead, source said he was found dead in his prison cell apparently from suicide.

I got to know this sad news now, something very sad, rest in peace John McAfee

sad news to come for one of the biggest supporters of crypto .
His last tweets on his Twitter page attack Western democracy and describe all regimes as bribes.
and this was in one of his tweets from a prison in Catalonia Spain
Now the doubts swirl around the death of the man who was one of the most vocal opponents of the American regime.

i think the news are hoax, but after i searched on internet is true and sad  :'(

maybe he got lot of depression after what he did

I wouldn't be so quick to jump to this conclusion. This tweet was from June 9th:


A quick look at his Twitter feed also seem to suggest that he's been pretty down as of late. There was even this tweet from May 27th:


I think it's perfectly plausible that he got depressed. Do note that this happened on the same day Spain ruled he could be extradited -- it may have been too much for him. There's no sense for the US to do this (even if they did have reasons to off him) on foreign soil when he was going to be shipped home either.

Either way, rest in peace McAfee. I'm sure there are people who wouldn't have gotten into crypto without him.

Ah thats sad to hear, he obviously felt his situation was not going to get better and that
taking his own life was a chance to end a perceived hopeless position.

Im sure indeed some people whether they know it or not find themselves in Crypto because
of John McAfee.

I thought everyone forgot him anymore because when I looking on my feed about John McAfee's death I search this topic on google but I didn't found any so I search this manually and found this. What I remind him is he know who Satoshi Nakamoto is and it will never happen now. Well, let Satoshi remain anonymous we will never know who Satoshi (except he left some note somewhere).

I really hope that McAfee is having a great time in hell right now(or maybe in heaven).
He was a truly remarkable guy,despite the bad things that he had done in his life.
He was one of the very few rich and famous people,who adopted Bitcoin,before it became cool and trendy.
Later on,he dumped Bitcoin and started shilling shitcoins,but nevertheless,he was one of the early promoters of Bitcoin.

Yeah, he is very remarkable in both sections in crypto and anti-viruses.

I remember him as one of the bitcoin bulls and despite his funny prediction about bitcoin reaching a high price, still bitcoin made its bull run at end of last year and for this year.

There are many articles that can be found online that covered his death.

It was really a sad news to hear and also not sure if that was a suicide or something happened inside and now termed as suicide. Well in terms of promoting crypto now doubt was one of the early adopter and promoter of crypto as well. But as said he really had too many conflicts and way in which he worked was not much  likeable.

This proves only one thing that He's death was also planned by Him .

How bad McAfee ended when he was once an Icon in crypto industry .

sources are reporting the sad news. There's no doubt that his death was caused by depression, it's only natural that McAfee felt so deeply depressed

If I can remember correctly, he was imprisoned due to tax invasion plus other crimes if I remember correctly, you can try Googling "reasons why John McAfee was imprisoned" I believe you would find exactly what you are asking about, but am 100 percent sure tax invasion was one of the reasons though.

Apparently he was suspected of embezzling US taxes, and thus an international arrest warrant was issued against him. He was therefore arrested at the Spanish airport.

I wonder if he was depressed

Why in the world would he commit suicide when there was a chance for him get out of the prison?
