Title: What happen if US ban cryptocurrencies?
Post by: SophiaZ on July 01, 2021, 01:46:45 AM
Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

I don't think that the US will ban crypto, but for the sake of your argument, I think it will have a drastic impact on the market, we might see the price crashing because of this news. However, no country is bigger than bitcoin or the rest of the crypto. We might suffer a crash, but definitely it will grow again given sometime. We have seen how crypto's resiliency is, so no doubt that we can bounce back but it might take time, or until everything settles down after the ban.

It will affected the world economy a lot. They allowed the bitcoin and because of them the bitcoin sustain in the market. It may be the another weapons to smass the economy of other country. Because most of the developed country people had holding their money in bitcoin.

So many crypto based companies in there from the large ones to the smaller ones so the chance maybe is rather slim but if they do the effect will be devastating, large portion of market cap or btc holders coming from the US and if that happens that means
we gonna lost those capitals making the market have less liquidity and probably getting dumped hard as well since there gonna be major sell off. but definitely not gonna put cryptocurrency to death, it will still exist and have value.

The US is the most crypto friendly nations. They have strict laws for cryptocurrency but it does not mean they banned or will ban cryptocurrency. What we need actually is laws, regulations to prevent scam, ponzi schemes and bring cryptocurrency to mainstream.

Base on the fact, many crypto companies, exchanges, marketplaces, merchants are originated from the US, they will not suddenly ban cryptocurrency in the nation. It is impossible and unrealistic.

Big tech companies in the US already accepted or began to invest in cryptocurrency or expand their companies to blockchain. If the US won't ban Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Microsoft, they won't ban cryptocurrency.

there is nowhere else to go for investors. the real estate is surging, it bubbled so big already and they are afraid. the dollar is shrinking, gold is of no importance because they now knew, it could be taken from them as Micheal Saylor said.

banning cryptocurrency will be a loss for a country whose doing it. if they ban bitcoin, it probably will be just temporary until they figure some laws.

Yes I agree, If it will happen then crypto currency will be a loss for the country who are doing it. Banning crypto currency maybe hard for some people who are just depending their income in this. But, I know Us will never ever ban crypto currencies since it is the most crypto friendly nation. US have a strict rules and regulation if it talks about cryptocurrencies but doesn't mean that they will ban it. US might be ban Facebook, Twitter or other social media sites but I guess they wont ban bitcoin because it really give a big help to their nation.

Thye have big issues to confront to focus on Cryptocurrency, they can ban it but I don't think that would stop the growth of Cryptocurrency, and besides the US is also benefited from Cryptocurrency, it create businesses and companies that revolves around Cryptocurrency that is based in the US, they can levy big taxes but I don't think they will ban it.

I don't think the US will put a ban on crypto. I don't see any reason to ban them. They can easily manipulate the market when they want anyway. And they can make a lot of changes without banning them.

Banning crypto or not has nothing to do with whether a country is developed, underdeveloped or developing. It has to do with the mindset and perception of what the country's leadership thinks crypto is. China is a developed country yet it has had this running battle with crypto, banning it.

As for the US, there are trading sites and exchanges that don't allow citizens of the US. And if eventually the US bans cryptocurrency I don't think it will kill the industry. It can only be a week effect at most and the industry shakes it off. Aren't we shaking off China's ban already?

As usual it will have an impact in the market especially if those weak hands going crazy again to sell off, because for sure there will be a big changes as they're the one who make the situation worse.. Infact i never see the market become not affected because of fomo, so don't expect a good situation once there's a bad news like banning from other countries.. Be aware if you want to protect your money..

I don't think other countries will follow the US if they banned cryptocurrency...

currently, each country already has control over their country so that other countries are difficult to influence. when trump became president he had several times expressed opposition to cryptocurrencies but had little effect.

looks like it's going to be big news. After China and Mexico, now it's the USA's turn which is thought to be banning crypto.
Previously, the previous president of the USA had also done news related to crypto and bitcoin. the impact is quite large. and if that happens. will probably be greater than the impact caused by China.

Just think of this, if they have planned all banning cryptocurrency, Bitcoin already here since 2010, more than 10 years, why they still don't ban it can't ban it? Very impossible. It's far from possible for now, as time goes by and without strong aw against cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency will stay.
They will just more become strict on "some" cryptocurrency, always remember that most of cryptocurrencies (altcoins) out there are shitcoins or scams!

If the US was the "ban" cryptocurrencies then it is very likely that would be the end of crypto or the beginning of the end at the very least. The US is the largest economy in the world and by far the most influential country. If they ban crypto then it is likely the whole world will ban it as more and more countries follow the US. I know there are lot of people on here who say "Bitcoin doesn't need the US" or something similar. But sometimes you have to be realistic. If the US banned bitcoin it would be catastrophic.

Nothing can impossible because a few days ago china government banned cryptocurrency using and mining. So a huge amounts of crashed already happened and Bitcoin turned out to $63000 to $29000 . If America would ban cryptocurrency then it would be same crashed may happen.

USA is a civilized country and do not infringe on their citizens right for hodl ing cryptocurrencies thus this won't necessitate any ban of it, in as much as there are laws, regulations and monitoring of crypto related activities there is no any cause for alarm, the FBIs and CIAs are fully involved in tracking and tracing any suspicious laundering of cryptocurrencies by terrorist all these are some of the reasons that can lead to the ban of cryptocurrencies, since it is well attended to and checkmated cryptocurrencies will continue to thrive in the US for years ahead.

Huge panic wave? one person called elon could already shake the market so hard the market direction turning from bullish to bearish,
not to mention if it's a government with their strict law enforcement but as many people have said, this kind of thing will not gonna happen,
not as long as the institutional investors there could make money off it, but frankly speaking, such panic wave not only could happen in crypto market
almost all investment instrument in this world could get affected by government banning and we're speaking about USA here. So it's not like crypto market
is that vulnerable, it's just such thing could disrupt every market.

If ever US will ban cryptocurrency then for sure it will affect too much the market, there are so many investors in US and it would be a big loss for crypto world if they are going to ban cryptocurrency, but this is not possible and this will only take a panic selling for many people and for sure whales will take this opportunity to bag more, so be careful always and dont believe on this like this if ever.

Exactly what will happen, we are all going to be dumping our coins the moment they announce such. But I don't think they will do this, they already declared Bitcoin to be a physical asset. There are no specific discussions that will lead to banning cryptocurrency in the US. The big institutions are mostly from US also that invest in BTC and also speculating often in the media.

I don't think it will be banned. but if in the future it happens the impact will be very big. maybe bigger than it is now. America is one of the potential markets for crypto, and if there is a ban there the market will crash immediately.

US can't ban crypto, not when all the individual states have their say about how things run and when some states already started legislating (meaning that they regulate, so there is a law that provides for crypto legally).

In fact, it's because of the big companies already providing revenue to the government that this protection for crypto happens there.

They've seen what happens anyway when crypto is banned:)

Too many people from the American government want cryptocurrencies to develop further, since these people from the American government  understand that cryptocurrencies are the future and therefore everyone need to give cryptocurrencies a chance to show themselves, and therefore I do not think that all of America will completely ban the use of cryptocurrencies in its territory at least ever, well, if, for example, this will happen, then of course the cryptocurrency market will collapse, but after some time the cryptocurrency market will recover.

It is not possible for a government to ban cryptocurrency, because it doesn't exist in physical form. Despite the name "coin", cryptocurrency exists in the form of codes written in various computer languages such as C++ and Haskell. It is not possible to destroy these codes, once they are written. And in order to access the coins, the user needs another set of codes (private key). Once again, the government can't ban or seize these codes, since they exist only in digital form. And unlike bank accounts and demat accounts, these codes don't have any direct link with the user.

Sure, but they can ban exchange websites which are an important part of the crypto ecosystem.

Honestly regarding what we are talking about some of you guys are very confident that US will never ban crypto, but you guys should not forget that every 4 years there is a potential new government with a possible different attitude towards crypto world.

We have a good example with Trump who recently stated that Bitcoin is a scam against dollars lol.

Yes you are saying based on the title of ops post. Op should say maybe banning of exchanges in there jurisdiction like UK have announced on binance. Definitely it won't be possible to ban cryptocurrency and no government can do such. They can only restrict users in there home or country not to indulge but people will still find means to it. cryptocurrency can't be banned only exchanges.

Yes, it will impact the prices but its not going to be the end of cryptocurrencies, people will be still using it and over time the people will still use it without need of any approval from the government which is also called the real decentralization.

a country like America is very unlikely to be able to completely ban crypto. because there will always be those who go against this rule. but if it happened like china. I think the crypto market can't survive. This will be very impactful in the long term. it may take years to recover. because the American market has a fairly large trading volume. if crypto is banned there, then the crypto market crashes.

From the beginning, the US did not fully approve of cryptocurrencies, so the residents there always had a hard time if they wanted to work through cryptocurrencies and I think that condition has been going on for a long time and does not really affect market conditions.

US didn't approve the anonymity and decentralization but they are never against the revenue generation from that crypto market that is why they become the most regulated crypto country. But these strict regulations are actually against the crypto as well so one who wants to maintain privacy needs to go through lot of hurdles to keep the decentralization.

As of now, there is no possibility that USA will outright ban cryptocurrency in the same way that China is doing it, but I am seeing an overarching regulations to be passed by Congress on this industry maybe within the term of the ongoing POTUS Biden. Of course, we prefer regulations than banning, with the good effects of controlling the many scams and frauds populating this industry. There is also possibility that exchanges not based in the USA can suffer some restrictions of doing business. Soon it can be the USA that can be considered as the epicenter of cryptocurrency, if it is not the one holding the title. Yes, if there can be a ban coming from the USA, the industry can be devastated and getting back on the feet can be so hard.

The US may prohibit the trading of some anonymous cryptocurrencies that are impossible or very difficult to trace (for example, Monero).
Bitcoin, Ethereum and other similar coins are very easily controlled through blockchain analyzers and many crimes have already been solved.
After the events in China, the United States may become the largest state that regulates major cryptocurrencies.

I think the US will be more friendly with crypto than China. we never thought this market would collapse so quickly if all that happened. Obviously, there will be panic from everyone.

So far, it may still not be certain if the US closes the cryptocurrency space, but because every possibility always happens unexpectedly. and if the US bans cryptocurrencies, then a large-scale collapse will surely occur, because the US is the main key to the growth of world crypto, and if the parent has banned cryptocurrencies, other countries will also flock to follow US instructions.

and to avoid this, we must continue to encourage big countries to adopt Bitcoin more than the US. so that when the US bans crypto, we no longer have to worry about unexpected events in the future that will bring down the cryptocurrency industry that has been running for a long time.

Though possibilities of US ban on crypto is quite low, but it could create huge panic into the market which might give huge chance for those diamond hand hodlers to accumulate more. But it won't have that much effect for longer timeframe as market growth will start to increase again when liquidation from US investors will be done, IMHO. TBH, that could be a bear market because of US ban.  ;D

They could, though, in theory rise against it and ban it but it just won't look good and the people will probably move else where. All in all, it will be a wrong political and economic move to do that while the industry will keep on booming else where.

This has been discussed many times across this forum and in latest, what I read is, USA have concluded like banning cryptocurrencies or any decentralized thing will not bring any effective results as people will go anonymous and do everything peer to peer way hence banning will result in losses in taxation rather than bringing up any positive impact in the end.

So, there would be very less possibilities for USA government to take negative stand against cryptocurrencies. Even they may delay in recognizing cryptos for being one of legal tender but never become against cryptos for sure as they are aware of final consequences.

But if it's a simple ban that has no effect on people who control and use their coin in decentralized manner ,then i believe reasonable Americans will move to self-custodial wallets, and crypto network like Bitcoin will finally have more people from US fully controlling their assets like it was intended and helping to secure the Network
I believe no one is authorized to punish free people for controlling assets they earned honestly and through hardwork. It is their properties and must be protected.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.
Why would they? I mean I understand this is just a hypothetical question so there is no wrong answer, you could say it will ruin bitcoin or you could say it will increase bitcoin, well in fact it will just simply ruin bitcoin because every ban hurts bitcoin, look at what happened after china. However the question in itself is wrong, why would they ban it?

Right now, USA is making a killing on crypto profit taxes and they are allowing people to accept crypto as payment and that allows people to make profit from people who live in other nations, so crypto is getting bigger and bigger meaning giving USA more and more power. They even made Coinbase a legal company years years ago but also got its IPO recently which means regular people could actually own a piece of coinbase if they want to, would USA government allow something like that if they were thinking about banning crypto? No way they would ever do that.

They can ban the exchanges. But how much practical is that going to be? There are dozens of P2P exchanges, which doesn't require any KYC verification. Such sites may not be as reliable as the mainstream exchanges, and the chances of getting scammed may be higher. But that is not going to deter most of the users. Now if you are going to argue that the authorities can simply track the bank transactions, then the users may rely on physical cash, or gift cards. In the end, the government will lose out on tax money. There will be no other impact from the ban.

I think from a commercial point of view the ban would drastically affect prices because they are naturally based on the USD and the fact that the biggest economy in the world is out means that things are not going very well, but it would quickly recover because there is other strong economies, even without the US and China, I don't think cryptocurrencies would die, I think that would just accelerate adoption. People would find alternatives to submit and make deals with cryptocurrencies.

We have seen how crypto's resiliency is, so no doubt that we can bounce back but it might take time, or until everything settles down after the ban.

i think that's far from happening. some countries are already making bitcoin as legal tender, why will the US follow the path of China & other countries which are banning the use of crypto? i believe they will focus more on how to regulate the crypto market rather than prohibiting the existence of it in the market.
but yeah, for the sake of argument here, definitely it will have big impact in the crypto market if they will ever ban crypto, but crypto will bounce back as there are many countries that are already supporting it openly.

Okay, let us put this into a sort of possibility. USA and China are big countries that support crypto but when China banned the crypto industry it causes a huge decline in the market. And if that going to happen that the US will do the same, it gonna be the same effect or it is worse as the major crypto users are in the US.
But, this kind of speculation couldn't make it happen IMO. It is just because cryptocurrencies are now growing and placing a huge impact on our life. If the other countries made it legal, that more it encourages them to act the same.

personally i could not imagine the effect if USA banned cryptocurrency. In china banning maybe we still could survive and price maintain like current condition. But if USA come and start it , alot of giant company that have bitcoin on their balance will sell it immediately. The effect really very huge and last for long time.

The market rally we had last time happened after China banning the exchanges, if you want the timeline, the news about China banning ICO and exchanges came out in September 2017 and we all know that the all time high valuation of $19k plus was achieved in December 2017.
So there is momentary downside but the market was able to come out of that and touch an all time high.

Then you need to understand the difference between US and China, one is a democracy while the other is a totalitarian and US always protects their investors and business.

The chances of the US banning cryptocurrencies are very slim right now (especially, when the US is enforcing taxation of crypto income). With centralized exchanges dominating the market, taxing crypto becomes a no-brainer. The American government can tighten regulations if criminal activity on crypto increases at an unprecedented rate. Things would've been different if the entire crypto/Blockchain space was completely decentralized (especially crypto exchanges). The United States know that cryptocurrencies are more beneficial to the US Dollar than harmful. Stablecoins pegged to the value of 1 USD proves this. Companies and businesses are adopting crypto at a fast pace, so it's best for the US to continue to support crypto than go against it. Some countries which "banned" crypto some time ago, are now starting to embrace it (like India, recently). Unless, every single cryptocurrency adopts privacy mechanisms to preserve anonymity, the revolution won't be going anywhere soon. Just my opinion :)

Another market landslide if such happens. we might see another bear and bitcoin might slide down to 5,000 if such ever happens.  the current battle between government fiscal policies that govern fiat and crypto continues and financial institutions will do whatever it takes to make sure that crypto does not succeed. i think that will affect the marketcap heavily.

it may even worst than it. We know this so well if the US can be seen as the most potential country to adopt crypto and so many of big investors on crypto were coming from there.
that means if the US would ban crypto and it will become a very big disaster for any crypto currency investors.
Tihs time US has become the country that will be thinking crypto in a good way rather than china. We are very close to the adoption that will be happening with US investors to the crypto.

If the US tends to ban cryptocurrency, the domino effect will follow and many countries will do the banning scheme. It is undeniable to have a huge impact but thinking they will ban is closest to impossible knowing that they are also looking forwards to the benefits that they are able to get. And instead of banning, now we are asking for their full support and make it legal.

The US is the largest bitcoin holder country, so with the capacity they have, they have benefits for its people, if they can develop it, of course the people will prosper, because they seem to have control for now so it becomes something that is hard to believe if they will turn off bitcoin

actually not impossible that all happened. The US has a big impact if it does all that. moreover, they have allies strong enough to be able to quickly destroy the crypto market. but even if it happens I guess it's all just a strategy for big investors to return to their crypto holdings at lower prices.

I think the United States will not ban Bitcoin. If it does so, it may have a big impact on the market. Before, the United States had a very friendly attitude towards cryptocurrency, and there are also many companies in the country that are involved in cryptocurrency, coming to the United States. It is also a business opportunity, and it also brings a lot of benefits to the United States. Some capital in the United States hopes to harvest wealth through Bitcoin, but they are worried that the development of Bitcoin will be out of control.

What Bitcoin needs most now is time. As long as there is enough time, an unbreakable alliance of interests can be established. But before that, if the attitude of the United States changes, then Bitcoin may collapse in an instant. Some people may doubt the ability of the United States. Think about how many allies the United States has. It is likely that they will advance and retreat together on the issue of Bitcoin.

If the United States really bans cryptocurrency one day, i think it will be the biggest blow to the crypto market in the history, the influence is wide and the destructive power is unimaginable, and it is very likely to kill the cryptocurrency in the cradle.

The same thing that happened after Chinese government banned cryptocurrencies can happen in this situation also. We could see another dump. But this time, I don't think that it'd be at a too high rate. Because it's not a new thing anymore. Bitcoin has started developing immunity to the same kind of actions.

I also think that it would definitely have an impact on the price and by that i mean a negative impact of course, but to be honest i don't think that the effects would be to big. Just look at the recent news of the new rules in china where they banned the mining facilities the price went down quite a bit yes but i did not really dump into oblivion because the crypto space is not the same anymore as it was 3 years ago. It has matured quite a bit, that's why such news don't have that big of an impact anymore. If you look at the news that el salvador now accepts bitcoin as an official currency. This news would have been huge a few years ago, but now it did not really have an impact on the market.

if they are really serious about banning bitcoin, they should have shut it down from the year 2010 to 2017, what they only do is harass and chase bitcoin holders, maybe they also take the bitcoin, and keep it, other countries have done it to like saying in the news china, Russia, but in the end, they end up, allowing it, it's already too late to stop cryptocurrency, what they can only do is to regulate, pass a bill, regulating, and paying taxes, i think that's their no.1 target to milk taxes from the people who holds it, that's not far from being a reality I think, that's what the government is leaning in.

However, assuming that it’s gonna happen, it will cause a huge impact in the entire crypto market. We could see a decline not just on the price alone, but for the number of wallet holders as well like what is happening in the UK now.

In all honesty, I really cannot give a good answer on this. Of course Bitcoin maximalists would say that Bitcoin is bigger than the U.S.. that Bitcoin can survive anything. But you can see how a China ban on Bitcoin already made some big lows in the price of Bitcoin. That will affect the price of Bitcoin even more. But of course, you can just hodl your Bitcoins for a little longer until the situation becomes normal again. A U.S. ban on crypto might not be permanent and it will make some lighter restriction as time goes on.

Here bitcoin is treated as an asset/property. We have clear guidelines and rules on how to trade, hold or sell bitcoins or any other crypto currencies. So I don't see any reason why the government would want to ban crypto currencies. The government knows that they can't "ban" something that is decentralized. So instead of being stupid and banning it like some of the countries did, they decided to regulate it. Even if they do (very highly unlikely), we will see the  price nosedive. Going to have a very long impact on the market and may probably then recover.

I don't think it is very likely that US would outright ban crypto currency, but if they did it the effects would be devastating. Probably all crypto coins would go into a massive sell off. There are quite a few companies who invested into cryptos, with a ban they all would need to sell their coins in a short period of time. I think we would see a panic if that happens.
panic would be much bigger this time because the fall is larger and we are talking about the u.s  .
its one of the biggest country that holds bitcoins but if i were them i will control my self because there are still more countries left that dont ban btc and probably wont ban btc anymore .
instead of panicking they can use the oppurtunity to buy bitcoins as theres a chance that u.s will unban btc like what other countries did .

But it is true that the US is still only requiring a few tax filing and declaration processes, they do not have a comprehensive ban

Nothing to substantial will happen.... is a big lie. Anyone that tells you that if USA bans crypto nothing would change in the long term is lying to you. Sure doesn't matter which nation bans it crypto will have a crash and in the long run (think of many years) it will recover and get better however eventually we are going to end up with nothing at all if USA is the one that does it. Why? Because they are one of the biggest spenders of crypto world and they spend a ton of money, there is really nothing we can do to equalize that with other nations because if USA bans it then that means other nations will look at it differently and everyone will be running around.

It could be done, USA could ban it and we could still survive but that requires every single other nation to full on support it and that is not going to happen anytime soon I can tell you that.

But I think unlike my country the level the government gives to human rights, is way off the league of the one my country gives to it's citizens.
I believe if the black lives matter was something I can hold on to, then US citizens knows their constitutional rights and are willing to fight for it, I must be honest I don't think the US can actually spear head that and successful implement a ban on crypto-currency to it citizens.

US banning crypto will for sure have a great negative impact on the crypto market in general as everything might come crashing down, but the good news still is that no country or government can stop the existence of crypto, crypto is here to stay and even if countries, government or group of individuals succeed in crashing the market, the good news still is that the market will still come back around and rise again after some time.
But then, I personally don't think US is ever going to ban crypto anyway, though it's possible , but I don't think they will.

Anything can happen even though it is difficult to find the exact reason why America banned cryptocurrencies, as for the impact there will be a decrease in prices from what has happened to China which banned crypto in 2017. but I'm sure decline will not long, because gradually it will find its balance back in the market.
i dont think USA will banned cryptocurrency market, US government already make policy to protect their citizen from by restrict them following ICO project. recently i saw one of SEC commisioner said that ETF should approved, and this is good signal for us in near future.

Certain countries, such as South Korea have already banned the ICO, and as far as I know the US government hasn't taken this step yet. And in the US, it may be up to the state governments to decide on such issues, rather than the federal government. And regarding the ETF, the SEC has refused to approve it. Different funds have made requests over the last 3-4 years, but none of them were approved for listing in the NASDAQ. The SEC hasn't explicitly stated that they will not approve the ETFs. But the general consensus is that getting an approval is impossible.

I'd expect another dump in the market. But this time, the scale may not be that large when Chinese government did it. And I wouldn't expect a different thing to happen rather than a dump. For example, it wouldn't be sensible to wait for the market to be just gone. This market is stronger than ever now.

A US ban wouldn't be the best thing to happen to bitcoin as we know it has a good share of investors and hodlers coming from this location, so should they take the news in a negative way panic selling would be the order of the day. But am sure people have thought about this and will have a plan b should it come to this.

I think it wouldn't happen because the US supports cryptocurrency a lot. If such banning would happens, it will negatively affect the economy as well as the market situation since most investors are from the US as well as the project developers of other altcoins. It could possibly crash down a lot of top coins.

I also agree Bitcoin started in the US and its people are one of the early and strongest supporters if you are a President you will not make an unpopular decision that can lose the support of the majority of voters, so many US voters are already investing in Cryptocurrency and they are part of the major players in the industry.

If the USA bans cryptocurrency it will certainly have an impact on such a large price, because very many companies are also in the united states that use cryptocurrency, perhaps america is now limiting its use, not in banning it, because it has a big impact, because america is a strong country in the economy . after China.

It may happen, it may not, if the ban does occur, it may only make a temporary decline, because crypto does not depend only on the US, in other parts of the country there are still many people who use crypto.

It may be a temporary decline, but the markets may crash really hard. In terms of raw volume, United States is the country which has the maximum holding of cryptocurrency (although in terms of number of users, they may not be no.1). We all know how the market behaved when the Chinese government cracked down on cryptocurrency. And trust me, the impact from any potential ban from the United States is going to be much worse. Obviously cryptocurrency can survive without the US. But if will be severely handicapped.

for the beginning crypto may experience a very large decrease in purchasing power, but over time all crypto assets will definitely rise again, just like the current negative news always makes the price of bitcoin go down by a few percent but bitcoin continues to be a conversation and rises again,

I thought that would not happen. if USA banned crypto someday, it could affect the price only temporarily. But always remember that crypto is decentralized not influenced by any particular country.
i also thought the same that the price will go down temporarily, so i thought to myself, i really hope something like this happens so we would get a chance to buy when the price of bitcoin is really low, but i don't know think that it could happen though.

Nothing is impossible, besides 10 years is not such a long time to determine whether a government will have consideration over a particular sector or not, assuming it is something they are considering it will take time but they will eventually come to a definite conclusion,  right now the government of us have not really given a full consent for crypto operations despite the strict laws governing it, so I wouldn't say it is impossible, rather let's hope they have no reason whatsoever to do so, China who is constantly banning btc have been in btc for years and has the most miners, yet they are undecided what to do.

Bitcoin present a threat to the global hegemony of the US Dollar. And this threat is increasing and has entered a different stage now, with the announcement from El Salvador that they will award the status of legal tender to BTC. The significance of this measure is that now Bitcoin is a direct competitor to the US Dollar. Such a scenario was absent previously. Now the dimensions have changed and we can expect a much more hostile attitude from the US regime. And now coming to the probable ban, for digital currencies that exist only online, localized bans will have zero impact.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

The US has a strong influence in the global economy including cryptocurrencies, if the USA banned crypto, of course it would have a big impact maybe the price of crypto would drop more than 50% and many projects stopped.

Maybe not and maybe yes, what would happen if yes? I think it will not affect big time in the crypto market because it is US is the only nation who are using cryptos, Japan, Korea, UK, EU and almost country in the world are now using cryptos, so if US ban the usage of cryptos the underground market are going to be big.

The USA has indeed become one of the most dominant countries in the crypto world, if the USA really bans crypto, then the price of bitcoin and altcoins will definitely drop drastically, but crypto will not die, although the potential to rise is very small
Yes, in general, cryptocurrencies will not just die when the USA actually bans crypto for their territory, but it should also be noted that the effect of this will obviously be on cryptocurrencies even though it will not last too long because there are many countries that are still love cryptocurrency until now.

There will be a huge influence, you are wrong. Coinbase if I am not wrong is being operated from the USA and many such big companies have their headquarters in the USA and obviously all these things will impact the price badly.

No doubt crypto will live forever but if any country bans the use and trading of cryptos, then they will always impact bitcoin and depending on the country, the impact can be estimated.

Blockchain technology has been appreciated by almost every country but some have banned cryptos because of the lack of control from the government on crypto transactions and the amount of fraud that sometimes is related to cryptocurrencies.

If USA decides to put the hammer on bitcoins, surely it will cause a huge dump in the market and might take a long time to ever get back the ATH price, if ever at all. Although the market will crash it does not impact the usability of bitcoins and globally people can continue using bitcoins without any problems. In fact, I think even users in USA (considering it's banned) will also use Bitcoins and the governments can never know about it.

It's similar to gambling, some countries have it banned while some have insane taxes on gambling but people just find alternate ways of gambling. Similarly, you may ban bitcoins legally but how can you ban a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency doesn't convince me.

And again, this is just a thought and I don't see BTC being banned anytime soon at all.

Cryptocurrency will not disappear. If it is really banned, it will have a great impact on future development and the future, and will cause great shocks.
Many crypto startups are based in the United States and them banning bitcoins will surely bring a massive negative impact. I have seen how a single person i.e, Elon Musk, can manipulate the whole market and if such an economically strong country like United States ban it, I guess the impact would be severe and of course negative on the market. Most of the exchanges are based in America so they would be closed and overall it would be a huge mess.

The US has a strong influence in the global economy including cryptocurrencies, if the USA banned crypto, of course it would have a big impact maybe the price of crypto would drop more than 50% and many projects stopped.
Indeed! I guess not just that but other countries who usually follow the actions from America will ban the cryptocurrency as well and eventually most new startups will be stopped because not all the projects can operate anonymously and need funding.

If the AS bans the crypto world then the price of bitcoin and altcoins will fall drastically especially now that China has banned crypto mining so that the price of bitcoin is down dratis, but there are countries that can make transactions using bitcoin so that the price again improves, although the value of bitcoin is not currently back to the highest figure as it has been in the previous month but I am sure the price increase will again occur.
Since US has been a large factor for crypto development because a lot of bitcoin holders are there, so the crypto market will eventually be greatly affected and yes, the price will drastically fall. But we all know how crypto recovers from every country's banning so the changes might be i guess temporary and in due time, crypto will be back to normal again.

China who has also known of a lot of crypto investors has banned crypto but until now, crypto is still standing so we can conclude even how many countries will try to ban bitcoin, as long as there are still those investors and hodlers who will keep patronizing crypto, then crypto will not be put into its death.

If the US bans Bitcoin, this should not happen, but if it does happen, it will have an impact on the market. Bitcoin will plummet. However, Bitcoin has experienced several plunges and is now in equilibrium, so it can withstand everything no matter what happens, so if Bitcoin is banned, the country that bans it will lose the most. I don't think this country can completely ban Bitcoin.

Generally, I don't think so it will happen they can restrict to some extent but the complete ban is hard but if it happens we will see a huge crash in the cryptocurrencies that one can not imagine in dreams. But it is not like that market will fully crash and can not survive market will again take time to rise back but in the meantime, most of the investors will lose interest in this market. USA have lots of hidden agendas in different aspects and surely crypto is being speculated by them on how they can benefit from it in the future. That simply means it is far from happening that crypto will be banned in the US not unless for a certain serious reason. We all know how big and how influential America has been over the past decades and if mining would take place in different states, it would make a huge positive impact on different crypto's price so let us hope crypto and America would work well together so that more of us can benefit from it.

USA may ban crypto but I am sure it won't be a long time. There are many people working on crypto there, they will sue the government if crypto will be banned. In this matter, the banning should be temporary only like what we ever saw on the banning cases in several big countries. The government will consider unbanning again because of many demands from society to work on crypto. The government probably tries to tighten the regulation related to crypto.

If they ever try to ban it there's going to be a lot of resistance from the politicians and people. Nobody wants to be the one who bans something and makes a lot of people unhappy.

There we go again, speculations will always predict at worst scenario and I don't think this is going to be possible. USA has the most crypto users and in fact their democratic country adopt bitcoin, and used cryptocurrency on their daily lives. How come this situation will possibly occur? Well, based on my personal understandings this idea is from other groups who wanted to blow the mind of huge numbers of bitcoin holders particularly the FUD makers.
They thought it would create panic, but this wouldn't be easy for them because same pattern applies and people already learned what happened from the past.

Now we are going to be adopted with cryptocurrency gradually. I think USA won't decide to ban cryptocurrency but they can impose many rules and regulations for their citizens. For the shake of your arguments, if USA ban cryptocurrency in USA, it will put negative impact on market price and confidence of the investors but it won't stay long time. But we have to think that cryptocurrency isn't regulated by any specific country. It will recover gradually that we have observed in the past after many ban news by different countries.

Whether or not the United States prohibits the cryptocurrency, this will most likely not affect the price and the market as a whole. The exchanges will change the place of registration (for more comfortable ones), new exchange gateways will appear. The only option for a clear negative influence of US regulators is if sanctions or restrictions are imposed on countries / companies working with cryptocurrencies. In this case, there will be a real drawdown of the rate and a decrease in demand for technology as a whole. But it seems to me that this is not a real version of the development of events

Exactly. It's impossible to "ban" cryptocurrencies because of their decentralized and censorship-resistant design. What the US government can do is try to regulate centralized exchanges themselves via strict KYC and AML guidelines. They can easily track and trace crypto trades within such exchanges for taxation purposes or simply prosecute someone who raises suspicion. I don't think the US will prevent people from using crypto, since it's more beneficial to the American economy than all the other way around. The higher crypto goes, the more taxes the US will be able to collect. Other countries are joining the crypto/Blockchain train because they see an enormous opportunity for profit. The only ones who don't care about this are China and Russia. Time will tell us what lies ahead for crypto in as it continues to grow in popularity worldwide. Just my thoughts ;D

This is what counts. If the US bans crypto I am quite sure they'll be running into a lot of problems with very wealthy individuals. In the US money plays a big role in politics, an even bigger role than anywhere else in the world. What could happen is that there are too many old men holding gold, or too many mini Warren Buffets who fear their assets may get competition from Bitcoin and so on. Soon I think that balance will lean in favor towards crypto asset holders.

However, the super rich don't care because they don't give anything about Bitcoin. Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg they don't care, they might even lean towards seeing it banned as money is flowing into Bitcoin instead of stocks.

At the same time, there are many crypto companies in the United States. Unfortunately, the future of cryptocurrencies still depends on the attitudes of the states  :-\

I think if the USA starts banning crypto, many countries will follow.BTC price maybe low down to zero. Most cryptocurrencies holders coming from the US and  it's a huge lost for US to ban cryptocurrencies.
How do you know this? Isn't the US for a long time not allowing cryptocurrencies in full for their country? and until now BTC still has value and does not become Zero, and I myself want to know the reason for what you say, because you said that other countries will also follow the US in this.

Cryptocurrency has not stopped since its inception. It is moving at its own pace. Its demand and price is increasing day by day. If the USA bans cryptocurrencies, it may have a negative effect on cryptocurrency. However, I believe that cryptocurrencies will not take long to overcome this negative effect.

The impact from a ban in the United States (although it is very unlikely) will be much worse when compared to any other setback we had in the past. If FUD regarding China ban can do so much damage, then you can imagine how much damage can be done by similar measure from the US government. I agree that any potential setback could be temporary. But this "temporary" phase can last for many years. Millions of coins will be dumped in a relatively short duration, and that will keep the exchange rates suppressed for a long time.

True, as long as there is demand and supply in all markets, cryptocurrencies will continue to live without any problems even though it can have a negative effect at the time of the ban, but it won't last long in my opinion either.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

USA has a very strong influence on the world including cryptocurrencies, of course this is a bad thing, it will make it difficult for the crypto industry to get funds and of course crypto prices will drop and will become worthless.

Crypto currencies in the US is quite big which is why I think it would be hard or completely impossible for crypto currencies to be banned in the US. Maybe the reason why you said this is that you have noticed that a lot of regulations are set in the US related to crypto currencies. But this is not entirely bad(despite it being against the true goal of bitcoin) since these regulations in place sets a trust bridge for this industry and the common industries. It basically protects the citizens from unprecedented threats and gives the government and banks of the US a sense of control which makes them feel at ease. Too bad though that these regulations hinder investors in the US to invest on most ICOs and other start up projects. But nevertheless, there is currently nothing to worry about as of the moment. But to humor your curiosity, if banning of bitcoin really does happen, it will really bring this industry to its knees, although not to a point that it would be impossible to recover, but at least to a point where it would take quite a long time to get back up and may end up become more unlikely to achieve the goal of worldwide adoption.

If that happens the crypto market will crash slowly because US crypto users and investors are large in number, so definitely it has a huge effect on the crypto market, But that was only a worst-case scenario because I believe that an advanced country like the US will not do that, instead, they will enforce some safeguards and strong regulatory requirements, but I dont think they will ban it. The US is very different from China in almost every aspect so I believe it will not happen.

Countries banning Bitcoin would probably work. China maybe a little different because they are already suppressed so much and people know that they have to use vpns even for the most basic of websites that other countries have. China bans everything including social media and other news sites from around the world and the people bypass it with their vpns. The same happens when they banned Bitcoin.

If the US did it I think it would be different because the people are not as used to getting around government bans because America does not really ban much from being used. I think the more restrictive a country is the less effect a ban will have but the more the citizens are happy with their country the more they will be willing to accept the ban.

If the United States starts to ban Bitcoin, once the ban is successful, other countries will follow suit. Because there are many countries that prohibit the use of cryptocurrency, there are no clear laws and regulations that say that bitcoin is not allowed. Once multiple countries publish such news, the bitcoin economy may fall again and again. This is bad news for countries that have set Bitcoin as legal tender, and I hope this kind of thing will not happen.

The American economy has more or less influence on all world economies. So if the US government bans crypto, I think cryptocurrency will be severely damaged. But I don't think the US government will make such a catastrophic decision.
I think the US country some time ago in 2018 talked about the same thing like this, but the ridiculous thing is that a few years later many people from the US started to do a lot of transactions using cryptocurrencies, in my opinion a country should not have a bad influence on the circulation of cryptocurrencies.

They don't. It is good if countries try to attack and eliminate Bitcoin, it is indeed very helpful for Bitcoin the technology. Because then people reading those headlines will pay attention and realize that obviously no government can stop Bitcoin, not even the US or Chinese government. And what does that do? It builds trust and that is exactly what we who are pro Bitcoin want.

The US has a huge impact on crypto. If what you say happens then it will make the market bleed and I hope that doesn't happen. After the problem in China, bitcoin has dropped very drastically and if US ban crypto i think bitcoin price will drop below then $20k
Then how can you predict the future by saying bitcoin will drop below $20k ? because it hasn't happened yet although it is possible it could happen, but I wonder why you are so optimistic when you say bitcoin will drop below $20k.

it was not a loss for the US but this will create a negative impact on the crypto market. Think that a huge chunk of the market user will be gone, that certainly, the other supporting countries will follow also and that it leads to the market drop. I'm not saying this will be the reason for the market to collapse but can't deny the fact that it can influence as well.

And to keep the market stronger and bigger, we need the full support coming from big and advanced countries as this will boost and encourages others to do the same. However, if the US will be making steps out from crypto, there will be huge price inflation.

As with every ban, it will decrease a little at first, then panic sales will begin and trust in the system will decrease. a few years later the new investor will rejoin the game and rise even higher. now crypto never dies, it just stops and gathers strength.

Negative publicities creates panics and fears, and knowing how big US.

There's an after effects once they also ban crypto, but so far they are allowing this digital currency to exist, though they are very strict in terms of KYC. US is really trying to make sure that they've got good control with their citizens who wanted to use this system.

That's how things works eversince this crypto currency was been introduced.

If same cycle repeats itself we can see another sets of new investors both institutional investors and those who wants to take a quick ride.

Although no country can completely ban Bitcoin, and the United States will not ban Bitcoin, but if it is to answer this question, in my personal opinion, no matter which country bans Bitcoin, it will not have a huge impact on Bitcoin.  Bitcoin has been well-known in recent years. Before that, no country had noticed Bitcoin. Few people knew about Bitcoin and used it. So does it mean that Bitcoin has not been supported by any country until now? For Bitcoin, the state banning Bitcoin is a loss.

I think it is not about how well-known Bitcoin is, but about the fact that everyone realizes you can't shut it down. No regulation will help, no ban will help and actually nothing will ever fully shutdown Bitcoin. That's building trust as people notice how reliable the protocol is. They don't perceive it as a protocol, but as something that can't just be destroyed at will. Hence, it fulfills the store of value function despite its volatility.

The thread title needs to be changed. Bitcoin is not a physical asset that can be banned. It is a set of codes, that doesn't exist in the physical state. Therefore it is not practical to ban Bitcoin. What the governments can do is that they could make the conversion of Bitcoin to fiat (and vice versa) more difficult (especially of the volume involved is large). And this in turn will have a crippling impact on the cryptocurrency market, by causing a reduction in the exchange rate and the trade volumes. Users may do their trade through P2P platforms, but the prices may slump.

because the US is one of the countries that contributes a high volume of crypto trading, the impact of the ban will be enormous. the market will not survive and crashes are inevitable. bitcoin and big altcoins like ethereum or bnb can lose half the price. and the rest will be worthless. this will probably be worse than when China issued a crypto ban.

It is not easy to ban the ownership of cryptocurrencies in the United States, because such a measure will go against the US constitution. Even if the government proposes such a measure, it will be struck down by the Supreme Court. Such a measure can be implemented only in dictatorial countries, such as China and North Korea. What the US government can do is to impose additional restrictions on the trade of cryptocurrencies. It would make conversion of crypto to fiat (and reverse) more difficult. But it can also push the transactions underground, to TOR-based dex sites and P2P platforms.

making regulations related to crypto projects, crypto markets, and the use of technology from crypto and blockchain that are very possible for the US to do.

Aside from US there are countries who still accepting Bitcoin, though it's not that much or big enough unlike with US and China that really have big impacts in each stand that they'll going to side. Not to fall and completely dumped to zero value but the developement will feel the impact, as trust and possible supports coming from those known people might be limited.

Regulatory frameworks for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are still being built. Some places are completely banned until the legislation is called crypto-friendly, but the US, which leads the economy, has yet to make any positive adjustments to this market. As the world's largest economy, the US has always had to think differently about applying the principles of supervision and management of crypto assets.

I see that the US is making more and more clear cryptocurrency laws, the government allows development of guidelines and uses technology for organic development instead of setting up early scrutiny. And the US is also letting it grow and is unlikely to ban it, but there will be laws governing and monitoring this digital sector more and more carefully. So don't think the US will ban it, for me it's just a matter of time for them to legalize it in life.

LOL.. the governments around the world are dependent on their national currencies, and the case with United States is no different. In fact, I would say that the US is even more dependent on it, because their national currency (United States Dollar) is the reserve and trade currency of the world. This situation provides them with an advantage, because the US government is able to take loans at near-zero interest rates. Their economy can survive, even if the debt balloons to more than 100% of the GDP. On the other hand, for countries such as El Salvador and Ecuador, it doesn't matter whether a decentralized currency such as BTC is increasing in acceptance, because they don't have a national currency.

As it may or may not happen, although the assessment of this market potential is very large, honestly as long as they have not found a way to accept it into the economic monetary system, we are still much to wait. I see the issue of accepting bitcoins and cryptos is getting easier and easier, looking back we have come a long way to where the crypto market is today. But if the US implements a ban on cryptocurrencies, then I think really bad things will happen.

The fact that cryptocurrency, and in particular bitcoin, are not banned, does not mean at all that it cannot be banned. We can be convinced of this even by the example of the recent actions of the Chinese government. Although they have taken certain steps in this direction since 2017, they have never completely banned the mining of bitcoin and its use as a means of payment.
The prohibition of the circulation of cryptocurrency in any state is very undesirable for cryptocurrency, especially in such a large and powerful state as the United States. In any case, this will entail significant negative consequences for the entire cryptocurrency.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.
They will not , Trump being the president pointed out and clearly mentioned Bitcoin is a Fraud but did the administration banned bitcoin?

Nope instead only continues down to Biden administration now .

I'm expecting ban from any country including U.S, if they don't put ban in crypto how will crypto crash? How will they fill their bags and get ready for another halving year? Have you seen how calm Elon musk is lately? Yea that's because he already tripled his billions through doge coin, if you still believe that crypto space is manipulation free you are a clown.

Bitcoin has a reaction to bans. Similar to what has been seen in the market since China cracked down on the bitcoin mining industry. If the US continues to do that, surely the panic will be enormous. However, I guess not. The US is a country with thousands of ATMs (I know more than 28k) that transact bitcoin in all their states. It won't happen easily.

With that, bitcoin will not likely to be ban, US are open in crypto, in fact, we have a lot of millionaires and billionaires who invest in crypto, they are rich already before they invest in crypto, so they know something, they don't risk their money if they see the risk of bitcoin getting ban in the USA.

Cryptocurrency was made for our financial freedom and privacy, so the government banned announcements that didn't work. If you check the central bank condition, maybe you will understand the situation. But yes, government support also needs to achieve great success. We should know the history, so many governments already did it even though the government knew that this announcement didn't work.

Yep, President Biden did not ban Bitcoin infact the US is still a free country to access Cryptocurrencies. I also think that Bitcoin will never ban because US is advance in technology and will not let the competitors sit in the top as the king.

You cannot conduct ICO, IDO or even allow gambling sites to accept US citizens and do you think that those projects price have crashed, the market will move on despite some countries banning them and there is no way US is going to ban Bitcoin even if they take the step to crush the rest of them because many companies have invested millions and they are not stupid enough to crush every business.

The Biden administration hasn't banned cryptocurrencies yet, not because US is a free country, but because such a ban is almost impossible to implement. It is practically impossible to prohibit an asset which doesn't exist in the physical form. The only way to do that is to shut down the internet. However, the regime can make the lives of cryptocurrency users difficult, by making it impossible to convert cryptocurrencies to fiat (and vice versa). Already important members of the Biden administration, such as Elizabeth Warren and Janet Yellen have given indications that they are considering such measures.

I don't think the US will ever ban cryptocurrencies. What it'll do is implement heavy-handed regulations to bring law and order to the industry. As long as crypto can be taxed, there should be nothing to worry about. More US-based companies are joining the game, so it should only be a matter of time before the United States fully embraces crypto as legal tender. In the worse case scenario, American citizens can either move to another country with a crypto-friendly stance or simply operate under the radar by relying on decentralized alternatives (decentralized exchanges, atomic swaps, non-custodial mixers, etc). Things would've been real bad for crypto if it was centralized. A ban would've had a direct effect over its prominence in the mainstream world. But knowing that the whole space is decentralized, it's virtually impossible to enforce regulations on the protocol itself. The only way to take down the revolution would be shutting down the whole Internet. Just my thoughts ;D

The US has always liked something like that. and most importantly the US still supports crypto.

But investors in the crypto space are very much in Germany not in the United States, so I think that if the ban really does happen, then the effect on cryptocurrency prices will be minimal and won't last long either, because investors those outside the United States will also make very good use of this.

The USA will not do that. although sometimes their policies are considered bad for the crypto market. they will not ban crypto completely. but if that happens, then how severe the impact?. I imagine it will be very bad. maybe twice as bad as the china ban. because the crypto trading volume in the country is one of the largest. so it would be very impactful if it suddenly disappeared. there will be very severe crashes. maybe the crypto market will collapse and it will take a very long time to recover.

the US government will not ban crypto. Although the US government cannot control crypto, but the US government knows crypto has a positive
impact on the US economy.

the biggest crypto market is in the US, and I don't think they're going to do any regulations that will harm themselves. not by giving wisdom to crypto they will benefit. with so many people who have crypto then if crypto develops then the people will also prosper, even though there is no legalization yet. I think the impact will be much greater than what China did some time ago.
we can look in the mirror when China banned Bitcoin from circulating and mining that was banned in China decreased quite drastically and now when talking about the USA to ban Bitcoin I think the impact will be much bigger because basically the big companies that hold crypto are under the auspices or is within the scope of the USA. and it could be that when this is prohibited it will have a tremendous impact on trading companies, including the world economy may also be threatened because basically there are several countries that are big countries of course that store money in Bitcoin. and when this is prohibited it will certainly be a very extraordinary turmoil

I don't think that it really can happen, I know that we have already seen such a situation in China, but it is completely another thing, because of different political structures. The Chinese government wants to control all aspects of people lifes, but crypto is unregulated so they can’t let it develop. Authorities can't accept such a strong economic rival, so they restrict everything that is connected with crypto. But if it happened in the US, the market would definitely suffer a lot. And I even don’t know if we would be able to return to previous levels then.

US actually have biggest power for crypto market not China, in this country there are alot giant company that have bitcoin in their sheet. It is difficult to answer this question unambiguously. Indeed, in order for the cryptocurrency to suffer a strong blow, it is necessary to ban it simultaneously all over the world, otherwise there is a risk that the United States will lose its place in the digital asset race, and the rest of the world will abandon the dollar in favor of digital analogs.

Exactly. A single country won't have any impact over the crypto/Blockchain industry's growth in the mainstream world. Governments need to unanimously agree on banning crypto worldwide. But we all know this is impossible, since countries don't have things in common. It would've been much easier to ban crypto within its early days. But now that it's too late to do something against it as it's grown too big to fail. Governments will be forced to join the game or be left behind in the dust. The introduction of a CBDC tells us that governments are already giving up to crypto/Blockchain tech.

I don't think the US will ever ban crypto, since they'll lose an opportunity to collect massive taxes. What the American government will do is regulate the industry even further, in order to prevent as much criminal activity as possible. Privacy coins like Monero and Grin are mostly likely to be banned in the future, because they're "untaxable". Only cryptocurrencies with transparent blockchain ledgers (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and some other altcoins) will survive in the long run. Time will tell us how governments will react to crypto/Blockchain tech as it continues to make strides in the mainstream world. Let's hope crypto becomes accepted by most countries worldwide, in order to ensure its prosperous growth for years on end. Just my thoughts ;D

Do you see any reasons for the US to ban crypto? Personally I don’t think that it is possible. More and more US banks begin offering crypto services. For example, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley etc. And one of the most authoritative bank, Bank of America, has even formed a cryptocurrency research team in an attempt to profit on the growing interest in the digital asset market and has approved Bitcoin Futures Trading recently.

That's the point and I concur with you. As there are so many banks involved already and the lobby for crypto is growing even in Congress, it is hardly imaginable that the US could ever consider an outright ban. Though there are still other instruments they could use to slow down the adoption of cryptocurrencies.

Using cryptocurrency does not need to be said to other people because in cryptocurrency it is not required to tell everyone that we use cryptocurrency, but just carry out the tasks and jobs that we have mastered well and get as much profit as possible, that's all in my opinion.

The fact that banks are accepting cryptocurrency doesn't guarantee that the government will not ban them. If the government prohibits the banks from dealing in Bitcoin or any other crypto, then they are supposed to follow that order. They can file an appeal against the government measures, but for the time being they need to obey the directive. IMO, the chances that cryptocurrency trading will be banned in the United States is next to nil. But the government can make the lives of cryptocurrency traders miserable, by increasing the taxes and imposing new regulations.

If you look at the news, it's much different if we search on the internet, there are many who support it. As I recall Michael Saylor is an American citizen too and Elon owns a company in America and another important point is that the crypto world is dominantly dominated by its own citizens. so in my view, the percentage might be very small if that happens.

That's certainly true, mate. Banks accepting crypto isn't a guarantee the US government will not ban them. They can easily revert their stance towards crypto at will. The government will justify its actions by saying that crypto is solely used for money laundering and tax evasion. But we all know, that's not the truth these days. The number of people doing illicit activities on crypto is very low compared to Fiat. My guess is that privacy coins like Monero and Grin will be the first ones to go, as the US government will pressure every centralized exchange to de-list them. Only transparent cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum will survive in the long run. While it's unlikely the USA will ban the whole crypto/Blockchain industry, anything can happen in the future. We should be prepared for the worse, in case the market goes all the way down the drain because of a full crypto ban from the American government. Just my thoughts ;D

There will be more problems than you think when the US is considered as a great place to live with high paying jobs as well as quite attractive benefits, the reduction of crypto workforce here will reflect the perception of the US as well as reduce the number of investors, China has also kicked out all crypto and mining factories in their country, the US is the destination but if they continue to be rejected, not having a stable place to live will be a huge loss to the strength of crypto when the role of miners is quite large

That's an accusation, no one knows if they owned cryptocurrency or not, but if they decide based on biased decision making, I think that is not good as it's not good for everyone. US are open with crypto AFAIK, in fact, they regulated crypto and there's plenty of bitcoin ATM machines in their country, so I don't see any reason why they will ban crypto in the future, unless they cannot monitor or regulate it effectively anymore.

The United States cannot ban bitcoin and crypto, but only enacts amendments to new legal regulations.  The US is also the country with the most bitcoin ATMs, they will not go to a dead end.  Recently, the CEO of Coinbase said that the change to tax regulations in crypto is meaningless.  Lol, Coincidentally or not when I read this news, bitcoin has gone strong again.

Technically any country decide to ban cryptocurrencies but the decentralized nature of cryptos mean that even with bans people can still transact and use cryptocurrencies. Nigeria for example banned cryptocurrencies late last year but even cryptocurrencies transactions grew a lot more since then and people been using more of their P2P method

It is very likely that the US will not be able to ban cryptocurrencies because there are many investors from America who invest in bitcoin so that it can damage their economic growth as well and also many of their officials, almost 60% of them jump into bounties or invest in BTC, and even if America does the prohibition of cryptocurrencies then it is legal by the government but there must be a drastic decline in the price of the cryptocurrency market

Why should tbey ban crypto-currencies when they can control the whole world economy though it. they also have rules and laws, thus they controlling criminal activities on crypto-currencies from their country even probably they are going to start taxion on crypto assests. but if they ban it, it could see another crash of crypto industry and china may take the major control of crypto mining then.

the US is a very important country in the world, if the US ever banned bitcoin (something I don't think the US would do because they are a democratic country that loves technology and if they wanted to ban bitcoin they would have done it a long time ago) the price of bitcoin would drop a lot and it would be a big disaster, that's because other countries would follow the example of the US and would also start banning bitcoin in their countries. luckily it won't happen

but if they ban it, it could see another crash of crypto industry and china may take the major control of crypto mining then.

china doesn't care about cryptocurrencies, they are firm and decisive on this matter, miners in china won't have another chance to turn everything back like in the past because the chinese government doesn't want cryptocurrencies in their country and they are not the democratic type of government and that the changes his mind due to popular pressure

Some time ago there was bad news for crypto currencies coming from the United States (US).  The US Treasury announced it would take steps to crack down on Bitcoin cs market and transactions.  the reason is that Crypto already poses significant detection problems by facilitating widespread illegal activities including tax evasion.  My assumption is that if cryptocurrencies continue to be used for crime, there will be a significant decline in the future.

Drastic steps can be expected as long as people like Janet Yellen remains in power. And in any case Joe Biden steps down and Kamala Harris becomes the president, then I am afraid that you will see CCP-style economic policies in the United States. But how effective can be a ban in the United States? There are tens of millions of users in the US, and even if we assume that 90% of them comply with the government order, it leaves out millions of others. So is the government going to jail all of them? They will do what they are now doing with torrent downloading. A few "masterminds" will be arrested, to scare the rest.

There may be fewer people using Bitcoin, and some people may go to other places for mining.
The price of Bitcoin will also be affected. Some people will sell their coins due to market panic, which may cause some companies to ban the use of Bitcoin, and the utilization rate of Bitcoin will decrease.
But it won't kill Bitcoin。

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

Just today I listened to a lecture on macroeconomics and the lecturer said that the USA can't ban crypto as it is the future of their state debt. Euro-dollar system is in decline, China makes Bitcoin reserve currency. It is difficult to understand if you are not good at economics, moreover, I haven’t completely understood it yet, but the thing is that the USA is unlikely to ban crypro, so calm down.

There is also no call by any serious politician in the U.S. and the Western world in general for a Bitcoin ban. Even the central banks do not do that. What they almost all call for, however, is regulation of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. That will happen sooner or later in most countries around the world. But there won't be a ban, at least not in the free part of the world. It may already happen in China or other dictatorships, even if it is difficult to implement. But even in China, only commercial mining was recently banned, private ownership of Bitcoin is still allowed.

Can’t think about what will happened but the impact must be so bigger then imagination. That's because world's top billionaires are from america and most of them are directly or indirectly somehow connected with crypto. If they are enforcing to convert their money with fiat and dump the market, then we might be see another 2018 again. But that won’t happen cause anyone can use crypto even it get banned. Still here so many user using crypto-currencies when crypto already banned in their country.

If the US bans cryptocurrencies, it is certain that a sharp drop will happen to the market because investors from the US have a loyal and professional attitude in investing with crypto. And I don't know if you have heard that it's the big hugs that controls the US economy. They will never allow such thing to happen, knowing that it is going to affect their investments too. Should it happens, that means will are talking about a whole market that close to $1 trillion dollars. And any government will think twice before they will ever make such a decision that could have a negative effects on the economy.

All possibilities can happen in the crypto world, nothing is impossible here, but so far I have not seen any special ban from the USA, for the development of the cryptocurrency world or its prohibition.

But if this happens, the impact that cryptocurrency will experience is quite large, considering that is where the largest currency exchange process in the world, both digital money and paper money, and many conditions that occur there affect the crypto world today.

We don't want to see that happening, so let us not think it will happen. However, it's okay to prepare for the worst scenario but this should not end crypto as it's decentralized and people are using it. When China ban bitcoin, it affected the market in just a short period of time, but the market has recovered and has taken already to where we are now.

The United States is very unlikely to put a blanket ban on cryptocurrency. But that is not because "influential" people are involved in cryptocurrency, but because it is legally not possible to ban such an asset in the US. And also, it is practically impossible to ban the possession of an encrypted asset, that exist only in the digital form. Even if a ban is imposed, there is no way to make sure that the coins are not in the possession of any of the US citizens. Cryptocurrency consist of a few lines of code. It is impossible to establish a linkage with an individual, unless there is conversion to fiat currency somewhere. And even in this case, it is difficult to establish the link.

The US banning cryptocurrency outrightly is technically not possible because no one actually needs the consent of any government to own  or use cryptocurrencies, what is a possibility however, is the increased regulation of the cryptocurrency market and how consumers are exposed to the industry. For this i believe a democratoic government like the US will have to pass the law through congress and other official channels which will have people on both sides wanting different things. At the end i dont see any seriously crippling regullations from the US government since a lot of big US companies are also already adopting cryptocurrencies

As a superpower, the United States (US) has a great influence on countries in the world. This also applies in economic terms.

Every economic policy taken by the US government, its influence is not only felt by the people of Uncle Sam's country, but also the whole world.

Regarding the crypto ban, I don't think this will happen, because there will be a lot of problems that the United States will face.

The United States government just wants to see that the presence of this cryptocurrency is not used for criminal acts, such as tax evasion and other criminal acts.

if the USA bans crypto, especially bitcoin, I think we will see a very drastic price change for bitcoin. although I feel that it will not push the bitcoin price to zero, but I think if the USA starts banning crypto, then other countries might follow suit. Well, I hope that doesn't happen.
I don't think other countries will follow the US if they banned cryptocurrency...

currently, each country already has control over their country so that other countries are difficult to influence. when trump became president he had several times expressed opposition to cryptocurrencies but had little effect.
I think the opposite. If the US bans bitcoin, many countries will follow, like they did with Huawei. Because all other countries don't want to be enemies of US.That's almost the end of crypto. President Trump's tenure. He has replied to the journalist several times that he has no sympathy for bitcoin but he does not want to ban bitcoin.
But that's definitely never going to happen, US is a crypto-friendly country.

At the moment, of course, this is unlikely, however, it is not necessary to exclude such an option, since we cannot know 100% what is happening in the minds of influential persons. If the US bans crypto, no doubt there will be a wave happen in the market. It'll impact the market, the traders' psychologically and who knows other countries also. the USA has a big influence on cryptocurrencies, of course, the price will drop drastically if banned on crypto is enforced there. but fortunately, so far that hasn't happened because the US definitely still sees great potential in cryptocurrencies.
The largest investor in the crypto space is still occupied by Germany as much as 14%, this number is twice as large as America which is only 7%, I think if the prohibition policy really happened in America, the effect would not be too big. considering there are still many investors in other countries.

I believe all countries will accept crypto and they will make stable coins based on the currency of each country and Bitcoin will become legal once many countries want it, it's only a matter of time, as we know, the crypto market cap reaches $2 trillion and this is a huge amount

LOL.. do you really think that the US treasury will run out of revenue of they ban cryptocurrency? You are talking about a country, which is having a defense budget of $600 billion per year. And this amount is almost 40 times the value of all Bitcoin mined in a year. The increase in M1 monetary supply for the US Dollar is manytimes the market cap of all the existing cryptocurrencies. If my calculations are correct, the hit to the treasury from any potential cryptocurrency ban would be <$1 billion, and this will be less than 0.1% of the annual federal budget.

Well for one we don't want the US doing that because it will endanger those corporations and monied individuals that has vested interest in having Bitcoin and crypto in general being accepted in the industry and the markets. Many billionaires have investments in cryptocurrency (I think) and definitely the ones in the tech industry have substantial amounts of Bitcoin invested. If the ban does happen then there might be a ripple effect as other western powers might emulate what the US did in banning Bitcoin. And that will drive prices further down. But as with previous crashes, Bitcoin and crypto will survive.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

if USA ban cryptocurrency, then of course cryptocurrency investors will decrease, because as we know if one of the largest cryptocurrency investors is USA, then of course it will make the price of cryptocurrency will go down, besides that the market cap and volume of cryptocurrency will also go down, so that not very good for the future growth of cryptocurrency if USA ban cryptocurrency.

Nothing will happen in crypto currency but price may go down for some times. In this world most of the countries are not allowed crypto but crypto is running smoothly in the world. Government can just restrict but not ban.

Such a situation would be a great destruction for cryptocurrencies. and there will be huge losses in terms of price and confidence in this market ends. But I don't think the US will impose such a ban.
The US also wants to profit from this cryptocurrency, because I have also never come across a country that refuses money or the benefits they can get in various ways or other reasons, so this really doesn't need to be discussed at length, because the conclusion is very clear.

I believe the United States both supports and opposes Bitcoin. Supporting Bitcoin has a number of advantages, but it also raises concerns about its future development. Unable to maintain control. If the US decides to prohibit Bitcoin, the market will undoubtedly be extremely volatile, and it is possible that it will not survive.

Don't underestimate Biden though. He is not quite the type who would welcome cryptocurrencies to be broadly used within his country. Anything that may undermine the USD power is bad for him politically. The advantages the US have are impressive only because the USD is the world reserve currency. The question will more be why he is still waiting. If Amazon and Walmart accept it, what is he going to do? Wait until that happens and then prohibit the companies from accepting it? If he did that publicly, the market will move down harshly I would expect. He probably places some shorts before that!  ;D :P

price drops still occur, but I'm sure there will be a country that can be a big influence for crypto. I think if there is one country that really becomes the influence of crypto prices, it will recover even though it can't recover quickly and slowly
The USA occasionally makes announcements that they have declared cryptocurrency illegal. But in reality the US will never make such a decision because the role of the US in cryptocurrency is significant. If such a decision is taken suddenly in cryptocurrency, there will be a huge change in the market.

I guess US won't ban crypto as long as it can bring advantage for their economic sector and for US citizen income. In fact, Bitcoin ATMs are mostly located in US, which means the government supports the development of crypto in that country. Moreover, the crypto business seems dominated by people from US right now. It indicates that crypto is already a part of an important business field in US.

I'm not sure US will ban cryptocurrency, cause a major percentage of their citizens are fully invested in the crypto space, even their government don't have enough reasons to place a ban on cryptocurrency that's why they haven't done it, for now they are thinking of regulating crypto which is actually impossible since crypto is decentralized and can't be regulated by anyone, but if USA were to ban cryptocurrencies, it would be disastrous cause the price of bitcoin and the entire crypto market will dump badly, I just hope that day doesn't come.

It would really crash the market. I fear that day would come and all our investments would be gone in just an instant. However, I think there's just a limit up to where the effect would become. Nonetheless, US is historically proven to regulate things not ban it. So it's most likely not going to happen anytime soon.

I don't think the US doesn't have any reason to ban bitcoin.  While they have invested in infrastructure like ATMs in most states, they have also opened their doors to some of the major bitcoin miners that moved in after the incident with China.  They can bring bitcoin and crypto into the legal framework but will not ban bitcoin.  They will accept bitcoin ETF sooner it's only a matter of time i guess

In my opinion, it is a necessity if the US will ban cryptocurrencies, because what I know they (the US) are countries that have the largest financial turnover through cryptocurrencies for income gains for companies there, more so those who have business ties to the country.  they(as).  And even if the US really prohibits crypto there, of course this will have a bad effect for stock investors in cryptocurrencies, because the price will fall, bro.

They do have reasons to ban it, that is out of the question. But do they have more reasons and better reasons to not ban it? The jury to that question is still out and it will a lot depend on congress members, whether they are pro crypto and themselves involved and how strong and profound there lobbyism activities are.
