We have seen sports athletes asking for bitcoin or any crypto as payments already. And then we have football clubs being sponsored by crypto sports bookies. And as far as I can remember, LTC was once promoted in UFC, it's logo on the center of Octagon. Stake sponsored Israel Adesanya. F1 strikes a deal with crypto.com.

So I guess we have seen the beginning already and it could trigger more crypto being promoted in any sports, so it will become global.

Execelente, more and more sports and athletes getting involved in the crypto world, from this perspective we only have to encompass more segments in sports, thanks for the vision and response.

Having a sports gambling regarding with the cryptocurrency is now a wide adaptation because it depends on the needs of their users mostly people now are being active with the sports and also to support their teams as a supporter and a gambler, of course, you will now trying to earn an additional source of income while supporting them by having a wage to your team. Base on my experience even on just small sports some of the platforms already adopted because their players would like to suggest also having different sports will gain more players to them.

More sportsbook are also accepting crypto which they are once fiat base only. The number is going to continue increasing I guess. The athletes as well seem to be pretty vocal with their crypto adventure. A UFC fighter like Askren sounds like trading cryptocurrency himself as he speculates the price too.  Hope to see one day these athletes wear shirts with logos of the cryptocurrency they support.

Sponsorships from existing crypto sports book is a good thing because it helps promote the site, crypto, and support the tournament they are sponsoring in. Advertising is a powerful tool to help with strengthening the sports that crypto has supported plus with crypto getting noticed, a lot of people that will see it and some of them might get curious and check out the crypto.

What I still just noticed is that the fiat-based gambling sites remained to be fiat-based, maybe because cryptocurrencies are not accepted in the countries as legal tender, you can see bet365 and most others are not yet accepting cryptocurrencies, I also noticed all the gambling sites in my country are not yet accepting cryptocurrencies, if they are accepting cryptocurrencies, it would have been a great crypto adoption. But I still noticed that the gambling sites that are accepting cryptocurrencies are increasing, but most of the gambling sites accepting cryptocurrencies are accepting cryptocurrencies from the onset of the gambling site creation, I believe also in what you said, this will gradually be increasing ie crypto used in gambling as payment.

The very important here is the sport that got a very huge community or a lot of supporters or active community members.
Slowly the blockchain or cryptocurrency is spreading, sports or non-sports. One of the examples here is FTX Exchange acquired an Arena in Miami and now called FTX Arena, then they also able to have a partnership with eSport organization, which another thing sports - eSports will be a huge player in cryptocurrency.
Athletes getting into cryptocurrency is also starting to spread.

Common scenario, the usage of crypto in:
- promotion/funding/sponsorship
- sportsbetting
- NFT collectibles

Wild scenario:
- DAO for sports when you can own a club, vote, etc.

I wanted to give more example about "wild scenario" but I guess I'm too old to imagine things.

After I read your topic about Blockchain, crypto and sports.
I've read about it two days ago, if you talk about the new Blockchain scenario for sports, digital innovation should indeed be applied in the sports world, of course this is a promising new area for the sports world and gambling.

From your question, the quote below is very appropriate to answer the question you asked Blockchain a new moment in sports.

Quote
Let's start with the fact that the main values on which it is based are: trust, responsibility, community and decentralization. the last of them, namely decentralization, can give clubs direct contact with their stakeholders.

In addition to: The Future of Sports – Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology (https://www.sports.legal/2021/03/the-future-of-sports-cryptocurrencies-and-blockchain-technology/), that I've read.

If this hype keeps going, soon there won't be any casino that doesn't accept crypto currencies. That's how far it will go.

Crypto will devour them all because it is fast, it is cheap, it is semi/full anonymous.

FIAT don't have these qualities so when compared to crypto it doesn't stand a chance.

^ Probably, only those online gambling sites remain fiat-based, and probably the reason because the jurisdiction they had followed is not allowed accepting BTC in their country. Not only sportsbook, even one of a sports team are now accepted BTC (crypto), probably because of Paypal adopting BTC worldwide and this Paypal mode of payment is now accepting BTC. So there is no reason why BTC and other crypto have become popular in the gambling industry and they are now accepting BTC.

Fiat based is still the king as far as online sportbookies is concern. But the gap is closing, crypto sports bookies now enjoy the support of many gamblers. And some of them have been highlighted in the last couple of years. So for sure bitcoin and crypto will be in-demand and there will be a time that we might overtake fiat based casinos. Billions are going to pour in the market that's for sure.

I expect in the next few years a few primarily fiat based betting companies, and big ones at that will announce they are accepting Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is getting more, and more common as a sponsor in elite sports, right from the UFC to Soccer. I mean, there's multiple football teams in the Premier league which is sponsored by a cryptocurrency company. In fact, I believe either Watford / Wolves have it as one of their main sponsors.

If I remember correctly, GCOX was promoted during the Pacquiao fight. Sadly, it was not that successful because it was aiming for celebrities and not the average person. But it is still an exchange that just didn't get the right amount of support or maybe a marketing strategy.
Quote
GCOX is the world's first crypto token exchange that helps celebrities create, list and trade their own crypto tokens.
I am not part of their team or their group or even connected to them.
Their salary are in millions of dollars so I guess it's just normal if they want a better way to transact large amount of money thru a different way with security included.

I feel converting payments of sports athletes to cryto currency equivalent would make a major boast both in the sporting industry as well as cryto currency world. Gradually most athletes are demanding their payment in cryto other than the general fiat currency used over the years and this would be a beautiful idea if adopted. And this also would cause a boast in some crypto projects that hasn't seen much progress since the would have an opportunity to partner with sporting activities.

More sporting events also sports clubs use crypto as sponsors or accept crypto as a payment like NBA Clubs (https://www.foxbusiness.com/sports/dogecoin-payments-nba-team) accept crypto for their ticket purchases.
Looks like sports and gambling will be the ones who most adopt cryptos, this is good because it will make crypto more famous and the uses will be more diverse.

We will have more sports and athletes getting involved in the crypto world because the process still continues.
But we can not expect that will happen in the near because those athletes and sports need to learn more about crypto itself to use crypto without a problem.
Besides that, it will be related to the government because they are as a regulator, will try to learn about crypto.
We might see a promotion from the athletes that invite people to try to use crypto and I am sure that they can do that as they can influence people to try a new thing.

It'd probably remain to be advertisements or what not, or maybe something similar to the NFT craze that Axie Infinity made. But for the current state of sports? I honestly see nothing that could actively influence sports. Maybe for gambling casinos as other have said, but again, it wouldn't really influence how the game or how the community works. Crypto in itself is a medium for payment after all, and it's not like sports actually actively use it to influence the results of the game itself.

Crypto betting is growing in popularity and has covered more and more sports betting so far. In the future, I might imagine that many fiat gambling site will announce that they will also accept cryptocurrencies on their site as it seems that some of the popular sports so far have also been supported by cryptocurrencies especially for fans. I found some example of cryptocurrencies for sports fans that the exchange is currently trading.

1. Juventus Fans Token (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/juventus-fan-token)
2. PSG Fans Token (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/paris-saint-germain-fan-token)

So far the biggest success is that some soccer sport clubs are being supported by some big casinos which operate mostly in crypto. Also in racing in F1 there are some exchanges, not the most well known exchange but they have their name in one of the F1 team, don't remember which one. This is only going to improve in the future.

we are in times when the blockchain through cryptocurrencies is entering a new moment for sports, before which and how far will we advance in this new scenario?

There are several ways in order to integrate cryptocurrencies into sports.

For example, for promotional purposes, sports may endorse a specific coin in the market which can attract potential investors or curious people about its existence. In addition, players can also share their experiences in using cryptocurrencies as their investment. But in my opinion, one of the most effective ways would always be sports gambling.

Sports gambling using cryptocurrencies is one, if not, of the most famous ways of advertising such. Many people gamble BTCs or altcoins in the market in the topic of sports. Most people would become curious about its existence that would further warrant its advertisements to potential gamblers.

Blockchain has various use cases when it comes to sports. One non-crypto use is selling tickets which are in the blockchain database to ensure they aren't fake. As for cryptos, they can be used to bet on sports, and online crypto sports betting is growing. Then, betting websites can sponsor sports teams, so that they feature their logos and perhaps a BTC logo as well. So it's a mutually beneficial relationship for the sports industry and for crypto users. However, since cryptos are first and foremost a type of money, I don't think there's much beyond this that can be done with sports using cryptos.

The biggest impact crypto currencies have on sports at the moment is through  gambling. A lot of bookmakers switched to crypto currencies and many of us gamblers are using the fast and easy way to pay and withdraw in cryptos. The demand for crypto sport betting will likely keep rising with the crypto prices.

we will find a way on how to increase our cryptos after seeing the price of cryptos are soaring and gambling is one of that source because it was instant than other crypto earning oppurtunities but you only need to control your self so that you wont get addicted .
sports gambling  could be a good choice when gambling in cryptos because it could be less riskier when you are good at the sport your betting .

A sportsbook that accepts cryptocurrency has a huge impact on the sports and blockchain world. Most people who love sports and also gamblers are now into cryptocurrency and it actually strengthens both crypto and sports. These two could be each other's strength since more Sportsbook is now existing. People also prefer crypto payment method when it comes to online gambling.

The time is not far away when cryptos like bitcoin will be legally adopted by Governments around the world and when they will be declared as legal tender then you can surely go on bets with your favourite coins if they are under the regulations or law passed. But crypto gambling is on the verge of becoming most common online casino place for players as they can benefit from holding the coins as well in long term and we have seen big whales growing in this gambling industry. This pandemic has increased the cryptocurrencies and so has the casino user base which will surely rise in future so get ready for that time also.

Bridging cryptocurrency with sport can be done in so many ways,  we need more sportsbooks sponsoring more teams or doing this has part of their cooperate responsibility....I have seen cloudbet do it and it would be nice to see more coming on board.

Another option could be paying athletes or should I say sports men and women in crypto and this could carry on and crypto will be on high demand.

Casinos and sportsbooks with kyc should try to find a work around to remove kyc this could make them popular unlike what happens when most claim to be kyc free but hit you with an AML check when you deposit a high amount.

I do think we cannot answer this question because it will go as far as the government is willing to take it. They might agree and disagree to the extent that it is beneficial for them. At the same time I do believe that many things are being done in terms of sports and cryptocurrencies but not all of them are worth it.

There is already a lot that is being done. They are already very much interrelated. At the end of the day I do believe that cryptocurrencies are most popular when it comes to a betting site. In countries where normal sports betting is not allowed there they usually allow the crypto gambling.

Plus people have been loosing a lot during the pandemic there are businesses which are closed down but we see a ever flourishing one which is "sports gambling industries" they even gave us  the most successful CEO's. Plus even though the tax implemented by the government in sports gambling is high people usually go through with it.

I think it's already a win win for many and we have yet to see more applications coming this way.

I think crypto is very possible to be applied permanently in the world of sports, and of course it must also have its own rules made by the authority in charge of the sport, we can see now that even some sports have made crypto platforms as their sponsors, such as formula 1, football as well as other sports, and this strengthens if crypto can be accepted in all aspects of human life in today's modern era.

Crypto currency is a form of currency so it is not going to do anything extra to help a sport to grow it will make the payment options easier and transparent with the help of blockchain technology and at the same time they can hide their original revenue and pay fewer taxes to their governments if athletes are not willing to reveal their total income.

Its already been a while where crypto integrated with gambling industry and we did actually see some progress or changes about it which is making even more better in terms of accessibility and of course when it comes to anonymity on where most people do love most.

Asking on how to strengthen? Just let these things do happen in the test of time because everything will really be varying on someones demand and this is the main factor would be telling out on
how far or broad this industry would be taking on.

Why care that much? Just sit down and look on how far we would able to reach out.

Teams and leagues sponsored with cryptocurrencies can go a long way. It can also help athletes realize that in time, their bodies will age and they will not be able to compete by then. That soon they will need to invest into something for their future. Crypto can help them with that, and some athletes are already opting to be paid in crypto.

Cryptocurrency is tied with anything that needs payment, and it completely suits for sports betting, payment purposes, tickets and many more. If all intl. sports leagues can do the same that would be enough.

I'm not sure sport has any relevance to cryptocurrencies beyond certain casinos/sportsbook sponsorship of athletes as a form of promoting themselves. However "esport" is definitely a field that is expanding every year and did especially well during Covid times (barring the large centralized gaming competitions being cancelled). It feels like esports have a direct relevance and could tie cryptocurrency into more of their competitive events as rewards, ultimately gamers who make a living online are going to need to convert it into cash for offline spending though. If there was more decentralized betting, allowing ultra competitive odds without the "house" taking a commission, then it might get more support across all sports betting markets..

Are you referring to sports betting or the sports itself?

I guess on sports, crypto is already recognized as I read some news before that some players are accepting bitcoin as their salary and some teams are also accepting bitcoin as payment. The adoption has already started, we can't deny that, bitcoin has nowhere to go but up and everyone will adopt with it.

On the sports betting side, it's now widely used and some casinos in the crypto are even adding sportsbooks on their platform, the reason is they see the demand and that would result to make their business more profitable.

IMO cryptocurrencies have had a large impact on sports sponsorship, majorly through sports betting. In the US alone the revenue from sports betting has tripled since 2018 (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1126480/sports-betting-revenue-us/), it could most certainly be linked to the emerging number of online bookies that deal with cryptocurrencies, thus making it easier for people to make bets. Though we'll never know for sure.

Cryptocurrency acceptance is once into discussion as a source used only for illegal activities. Things have changed, and so is the sports and other platforms that are using cryptocurrency. When we talk of sports activities, gambling sites play a big role. Earlier it was believed bitcoin is an asset created for the gambling purpose. This is all because of its increased usage on gambling. Now it has been getting used all around.

Now more sporting authorities and clubs have been getting sponsored by gambling platforms. This has given more visibility and some has gone a level high standing as the official partner for certain leagues. In this manner we can expect good forms of growth and exposure through these sports. Also few players have started to get paid in terms of bitcoin which is a big news.

When do it comes to adoption then this market is really getting recognition and attention as years passed. We know on how blockchain tech did really make out significant impact on certain industries and now

it do take some part on gambling industry which it isnt surprising that we do really make this big even though not that rampant nor can be seen on every corners but at least we are really seeing it gradually.

If you are a crypto enthusiast then you can easily spot out those logos and banners neither on a sports venue or simply into those advertisement where you can directly distinguished.

That's depend on what blockchain technology you'll use because they all have different function and services they offer. In sports there's no match to record aside from their financial transactions, since this is a sports blockchain technology might not help that match a team. Cryptocurrency can be use as a salary as well but it will depend for the players if they are going to accept it or now, some developers are already working on this for sure.

I have always said that scouting should be done with blockchain but nobody really cared about it. How could it be? Well, there are hundreds of different sports but let's take football for example, which is the most known and watched sport in the world. If you could build a project that collects all the data from every person and pay those people the token for contributing, you could have every single person as a good scout for you. Obviously some people may want to put up 10's all around for a player it is because their own player, they are fans, they are family or whatever reason but in that case you would be basically cutting that person out and not allow him to ever scout again.

So, let's say there is a player that deserves to be a 12 level out of 100, and you gave him 100, then 10 other people watched him and gave him between 10-20, then you will be banned because you gave him 100, even over 30 means you get a penalty but can keep going. So just turn scouting into this and you can have millions of scouts working to get players information and give it to teams in exchange of tokens.

There are already platforms offering sports betting and some of them have partnerships with big teams and players/athletes as well so it indeed helps.

Sportsbet.io has so many partnerships with football clubs and they even offered some t-shirts for the players. Stake has partnered with UFC and some of their fighters and have offered gloves to lucky players.

I think crypto moving forward can strengthen sports and various partnerships with players and teams are only going to help the cause further. It has only been a few years since crypto sports betting has existed so big things must be coming with more and more new ones coming and older ones being established even more.

There was the stake logo and dogecoin on the UFC mat a few weeks ago, I remember, so things are looking good.

One thing is for sure, sports betting does help sports as an activity in terms of sponsorship and again, adverts on the sports betting platform itself amongst other things. So, with bitcoin being a payment media for sports betting and the fact that, one can have a go at funding of his account without needing having the transaction reflect on any local bank details, it not only brings money into the sporting betting platform but in turn, makes the funds for sponsorship and advertising available.

Again, sports bettialso brings yo the platform the possibility of bitcoin being a media of payment in the sports field and should players be paid in bitcoin coupled with the volatile nature of the bitcoin, a players with every payment has a potential investment on them and stands the chance to earn ROI. Its really a killing 2 birds with 1 stone sort of thing.

What do you mean by "sports be strengthened"? Are you talking about sports betting? People can already bet using crypto currencies. There are many casinos that allows sports betting. You can even bet on e-sports games. Those sportsbooks are just the same. Instead of betting with fiat currency, you now just have to place bets with bitcoin or other supported altcoins. I don't see any other way the "system" can be improved. It is perfect as it is now. But I have heard there are some "tokens" or projects that solely focuses on sports gambling.

Litecoin did something similar a year or two ago... they sponsored some UFC games as I remember! I agree with you, it's something that's already around, and it's not only it's here to stay, I believe it will be a lot bigger! Crypto logos will be everywhere around!
All this is only a beginning, we see it here and there... just try to think about few year years back, things like this were impossible to imagine, and look where are we now! So try to imagine what can happen in the next 5-10 years! I guess total madness, crypto will take a lot more space than it takes now!
This was indeed so cool and refreshing to see. I actually missed the fight night but there was a lot of talk about this in the stake's chat and I checked twitter when I finally noticed what all the fuss was about. Crypto casinos and sportsbooks have a lot of money to spend and honestly it is about time when we see more such partnerships and sponsorships with big organizations like UFC.

The revenue from sports betting tripled might have more to do with the covid-19 than it has to do with the crypto bookies, I think. But you are right with crypto almost anyone can bet because the traditional bookies require KYC and all those things and a lot of players don't want to give their documents to an online gambling site.

For how far, no one knows. But one thing for sure, a positive one.

The integration of crypto into a sport is a good thing as it helps promote the sports, like if there's an event/s and for crypto in general - benefits and advantages.

With that, the target audience becomes wider and wider, and expect that it will bring impact to the awareness of crypto globally.

Currently mostly sports gambling is taking place in bitcoin but i don't see any adoption of blockchain technology in sports.

I understand that there are few players who wanted to accept bitcoin for their salaries but this trend is not growing right now.

Do you mean cryptos shown on sports like in Football, or any sports?

It's just more of advertising the company related to crypto but not the crypto itself. Do you see a sport already where it was advertising or showing a banner of Bitcoin, Etherium, Litecoin on the event place or venue? As from what I noticed, the one advertised was a crypto-related company like exchanges or trading platforms.

Having the companies name shown at these sports, especially during the big event like championships, will be seen by a large audience so it's a great promotion for the company.

OP probably meant overall but more on getting involved with the big leagues which was mentioned by some of posts above, in a way sports betting did help as some of the crypto sportsbooks formed some type of sponsorship between the popular teams.

Most likely in any sports.

I think we will soon see that the largest crypto projects have become the main sponsors of sports tournaments.

On the sportswear of the players, we will see advertisements for Tari, Ethereum, Ada (Cardano), Atom (Cosmos), Solana, and many others.

It will be very interesting to see the symbiosis of traditional sports and web 3.0. It will become common practice for athletes to receive tokens of various projects (in the form of fees).

A sports team in the form of a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is it possible?  In my opinion - yes!

The collaborations is really doing well, and with that example about UFC as ambassador it will be noticed by more sports,
the adoptions are growing and it really helps both ends.

The acknowledgement will soon reached more market and it will embrace each other for more progress and developments,

for now those sponsorships and advertisements coming from crypto related casinos are making its way.

I'd actually want to see a sport made out of the premise of crypto tbh. Integration of crypto towards sports betting and payments is just a matter of time imo, Making a sport, on the other hand, that has crypto as its own core (idk the specifics, but yea something like that) is something I'd actually love to see.

Advertisements should be in the foreseeable future, maybe around 4,5 years I guess? Adoption towards countries have been happening in the past few months, so that time span shouldn't be unrealistic imo.

Exchanges already do sponsor some events related in online gaming, soon many altcoins or project can use the popularity of the live events by sponsor some events in sports too. However-it will be better if the projects who will sponsor it also have something related about the sports. Before there are many ICO projects related to sports hopefully they can find some budget to remodel and market their projects and aim success.

Not only is blockchain successful in the UFC, a new era will also begin in football where many cryptocurrencies will surely participate, there is in fact a football team sponsored with crypto, in addition to the fact that El Salvador has adopted Bitcoin, it means that in a very short time the country's entrepreneurs will look for the best way to advertise and since Bitcoin is the boom, those who take it as their first option will have much more vision, in addition another country that is adopting Bitcoin will be Paraguay and possibly Tanzania, the adoption of BTC will not only reach the political and economic level, very soon possibly for the QATAR World Cup it is possible that we will see in the advertising of the soccer fields something related to Blockchain and cryptocurrencies, those who decide to go this way first will have more success while those who are integrated will not want to lose the movement.

I think we don't need such 4 to 5 years for this to happen since most of the sports participants are already aware of it and their managers as well. So the adoption and expanding it to almost all sports is getting closer and I think we all just need a good advertisement about it or some kind of regulations that doesn't affect the market of a certain cryptocurrency.

Maybe in the next two years it will be a common rewards for investors and players that bookies do offer with the help of someone.

I think there are a lot of ways to advance tokenization technologies and appropriate regular frameworks such that everyone can for example buy NFTs from an amateur club and thereby provide liquidity. I thought about that idea in the past because a little club near me always asks for sponsorships or financial contributions in exchange, well, whatever. Why not give them the possibility to raise serious financial funds via NFTs? I have even written a lot about that concept, I like the idea a lot. I would buy NFTs from that club and if it advances from 7th league to 6th league, maybe my tokens even increase in value. Tokenization could be much more developed in regards to sports. It lift even amateur sports leagues onto a whole different level because it would be so much fun for people closely analyze any clubs around them without being professional clubs.

You could easily extend that concept to players. If an amateur club wants a player but can't afford it, and the player agrees to be tokenized(contract would be precisely negotiated with all parties involved), amateur clubs might even be able to afford players from higher leagues.

Well, the only thing that Crypto currencies can do for Sport ...is to add some "Money" in the form of Sponsorship and hosting large events. We have already seen Stake.com signing up 6 UFC fighters and also paying for major marketing for some of the events.  ;)

Stake also bought the rights to Live Stream some of the events on their site and this is bringing more viewers to these events. The more competitors are paid through major sponsorships, the more events can be hosted and people pay to see these events.  ;)

What I want to see now, is competitors in these events.. getting match winnings in Crypto currencies.  ;D

Crypto currency proportionates more accessibility to sports through sports betting and help to promote them in countries where crypto is popular, but some sports aren't. For an example, let's say you are deeply inside crypto universe and sports betting and you see some sports that aren't popular in your country on a crypto gambling platform. But since it's popular in crypto universe, you become used to it after a while and even start betting on the sport. So we can conclude crypto currency helped to promote that respective sport to a new group of people.

And also, some athletes are now accepting their salary (or a part of it) in bitcoin.

Given the fact that crypto companies such as Stake are actively endorsing atheletes now, I'd say that the influence of crypto is only going to continue to grow in the sporting world.

I remember that a few NBA players including Spencer Dinwiddie also pledged to convert all of their salary into BTC as soon as they receive it. Which would both generate media attention and actual demand for cryptos.

I would say that it will be only a matter of time before crypto sportsbooks/casinos become so widespread and adopted due to their convenience that traditional ones simply cannot compete anymore and thus the majority of sports sponsorships will be replaced with crypto brands. Bet365, William Hill, etc. will probably start accepting crypto soon too as regulations continue to be clarified.

And the acceptance of payment in bitcoin by these known athletes will help to give bitcoin more exposure overtime.

The trust from their fans will also be taken by them because they have initiated it and accepted being paid in bitcoin. That's a wise decision for them and AFAIK.

When they've accepted salary in bitcoin, it's before the bull run.

At the side of sponsors, it's going to be more with the crypto casinos because it's part of what they're advocating and that's a direct relationship to what they've decided to accept on.

But as long as the sponsors are coming to them whether to pay with bitcoin or not, the exposure that they give to their fans is wide and vast to also educate about what they've accepted.

True.

It's a vast audience that their sponsorship is bringing to the market. They get to be popular because those sponsors are being brought by the leagues or athletes that they support.

And those athletes and leagues fans get to know more about cryptocurrencies too as they visit those bookies.

There can be some elements of cryptocurrencies that are linked to sports. As of now, clearly betting with crypto is perfectly feasible and you can potentially use any platform that uses crypto from anywhere in the world without exchanging your fiat nor anything, so that helps with the betting part. However, there are other things that could be better such as paying players with crypto that does not require, again, being exchanged. Also rewards in crypto for gaming are trustless and they can become an worldwide method for salaries. And the last bit I can think of is for on-line gaming sports or eSports that seem only but natural to have crypto as currency.

This is what I like most about betting with cryptocurrencies, it makes me bet beyond the betting sites in my country. There was a time I tried betting sites outside my country, but fiat payments make the thing not simple at all according to government rules having just limited amount to deposit monthly, unlike crypto that I can withdraw what I like anytime I like and still exchange to fiat anytime I like, there are many government rules that make sure fiat does not go beyond their country, this is good, but having alternative like cryptocurrencies makes it better, giving freedom to people. I like the easy crypto payment and the freedom it gives.

Although, the adoption of cryptocurrencies in sports is only just beginning,I can say that the future is bright. In recent times, cryptocurrencies are already proving to be a crucial part of the sports industry. For example, Fan tokens gives sports fans the ability to be able to influence certain decisions made by their favorite club. So basically, fans hold their club tokens can vote over decisions such as training grounds, kit designs, or charity initiatives. Amazing isn't it? This in itself creates a sense of ownership. Additionally, sponsors have been attracted to sports all thanks to its introduction to the sports world. We have also seen the monetization of fan engagement as discussed earlier. There's only so much cryptocurrency can do in the world of sports and it's just getting started.

Well, I see it very clearly crypto being one of the biggest drivers today in gambling in several sports, of course it gives some support how to add several other sports to register on various gambling sites. Especially when their game has become the main attraction. crypto is becoming a proponent of sports betting. Even betting on crypto during the match between Italy and England, the funds spent in crypto are big enough for all gamblers.

I like the easy crypto payment and the freedom it gives.

this is one of the perks of crypto sportsbooks/casinos. if you have your crypto, you can bet in a lot of sites without worrying even the KYC reqmts. there are so many restrictions when it comes to fiat-based bookie and one thing is the KYC reqmt.

Crypto currency has gotten it's was into sports betting since 2010 and more are creeping in gradually making it even more competitive. To strengthen crypto currency more in sporting activities could also involve paying sports men/women in crypto currency other than the regular fiat and as such crypto currency would be strengthened

there are some athletes already that are accepting crypto payments already -
Saqoun Barkley
Russell Okung
Trevor Lawrence
Sean Culkin

True.

It's a vast audience that their sponsorship is bringing to the market. They get to be popular because those sponsors are being brought by the leagues or athletes that they support.

And those athletes and leagues fans get to know more about cryptocurrencies too as they visit those bookies.

It's a win-win situation for all parties involved like the Cryptocurrency gambling sites, the sports organizations, and the fans, Crypto based gambling sites are sponsoring sports events like MMA and other sports events so they can promote their company, they are pouring money into these sports events and sports events are giving fans great matches and full coverage, we will see more partnerships in the future the sporting events are growing and so is the Cryptocurrency.

Sports betting using cryptocurrency nowadays has become popular, making many gamblers who use fiat money get familiar with crypto and try to use crypto. We will see an online gambling site that uses fiat will try to integrate their payment method using crypto because they want to attract a gambler who is familiar with crypto to their place. If they can do that and many gamblers can come to their place, they will make a lot of money from fiat gamblers and crypto gamblers. The sportsman and sportswoman will see crypto can be used as their income and some of them already accept the payment using crypto, as @AmoreJaz mention.

Cryptocurrencies is one of the best tools and accessories for online gamblers and actually sooner in real casinos as well.

so this is a win win solution from the gamblers and the casino owners also with sports people because they are all in together to deliver best result for the people.

without a doubt that the biggest challenge is to pay wages in bitcoin, due to the volatility it becomes very complicated and impractical to pay wages in bitcoin

Same here. That brings me to search for some of the old sports betting sites. So far, Cloudbet and Nitrogensports were the sites I found that is running for a long. They have started in 2013 so I'm still searching if there's a crypto betting sites already on 2010.

And employees really preferred to have their salary in fiat compare to bitcoin. Not that they are not technical but their salary was supposed to spend, not to hold and if need right away, it will take extra steps to convert it to fiat.

If major crypto sportsbook do sponsor like what Stake did with Adesanya in UFC, I think that's the only way that crypto can bolster sports, through sponsorship and the adoption of players of cryptocurrencies themselves.
How about awarding tokens to athletes during tournaments and also having ambassadors to certain tokens from the sports sector I was just thinking if bringing real life concept will also strengthen sports with crypto currency. If some tokens should own ambassadors the pay in their token who will in turn cause this tokens to have lots of investors then both the market capitalization and sports activities will experience some level of boost.

That's right and we've been through it for a long time. Before sports that should be bet directly in the real world. So crypto provides us a service in the form of crypto betting with a much wider range of options and a variety of options to get to know more about sports that we rarely see in our own country. In fact it will provide the experience of any sports game that is not available.

We strongly agree that the position of crypto being able to regenerate promotions that are no longer growing can now be much easier to bet on. You only need crypto and don't need to go far to see a match just to bet. Save your guess and it has contributed to increasing the names of sports that may have rarely been bet on in gambling.

we are in times when the blockchain through cryptocurrencies is entering a new moment for sports, before which and how far will we advance in this new scenario?

I like that sports clubs are fast adapting to it. Everyone wants a piece of it. Because it means more revenue for the clubs. It is interesting to note that these club owners are even more interested in the wider technological applications of blockchain technology.Right now, blockchain, crypto and NFT is akin to the internet explosion 30 years ago.

The graph for the sports sponsorship market worldwide by year 2027 is far higher than it has about last year which only shows that sports sponsorship getting stronger and we can expect that before year 2027 reach cryptocurrencies will be part of the sports sponsorships. Truly only sky is the limit because it has so many possibilities and to what extent can sports be strengthened with cryptocurrencies I think are unbounded because we didn't yet know what's the role of cryptocurrency by sports sponsorship but we are very much optimistic that once it gets use it would be unstoppable.

for now it may be growing because more and more people are using it besides that there is an American Football athlete, namely Russell Okung who converts his salary into bitcoin.
even according to the Foxes Business page, Russell Okung's assets were around $6.5 million in December 2020. Now, that figure could be around $8.95 million or about 233 bitcoins.
apart from that now a lot of coins for sports fans, Ziliqa and NFT in big football clubs.

and most importantly crypto gambling sponsorship sponsorship is now rampant among football clubs.
maybe in the future there will be more things like this.

As of now the best ways cryptocurrencies assist in strengthening the integrity and longevity of sports is through sponsorships and salary/compensations. That being said there is a good chance that more opportunities can be made with partnering sports and crypto aside from the ones I mentioned above. With the integration of the blockchain technology in sports systems, among others, there is a lot of possibilities to be made.

Basically just partnerships, sponsorships, and payments/compensations. Endorsements could also work well as in the case with Israel Adesanya, but then again these are all temporary movements that will not really strengthen the integrity of sports and cryptocurrencies altogether. This could change in the future as I said earlier, but until then, we would have no choice but to settle with these.

The current adoption of blockchain in several sports clubs will certainly have a positive impact on the development of these clubs, nowadays cryptocurrencies have become one of the innovations for sports clubs in seeking new sources of income, and at the same time establishing relationships with fans around the world, because crypto or NFT created by the club is an asset that represents proof of ownership or membership in a club, so that fans have access to the club and also have the opportunity to participate in club decisions.

Because of the transparencies of the transactions on the blockchain, it's easy now for players and gambling operators to show or expose frauds on payments and winnings, gone are the times where players are at the mercy of gambling operators because they have a hard time showing the transaction to the public, they need a lot of consents to do that, same for gambling operators.

The information is quite available on the use of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin and etheruem. The sporting world has not been backwards towards strengthening of crypto usage and down to ticket sales to fans, it has been used in different clubs.

Football Cubs have been strengthening the use of cryptocurrency (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ccn.com/euro-football-club-accepts-bitcoin/)

Through sponsorships, sports bookies, accepting salaries in the form of cryptocurrencies. These are some of those use cases that can be applied to any sports.

If you haven't seen it yet, there are a lot of sports book already that have been sponsoring teams and individual in different sports of their niche.
As years are going, more firms and individuals are becoming aware about the importance of cryptocurrency and I know that will time every will turn to cryptocurrency transactions. Even the normal Fiat we are using now for business transactions and paying of salaries will be gone soonest. Crypto will become more safer in transactions attracting large adoption of it making people to embrace it than Fiat.

You are right, even the importance of cryptocurrencies has reached countries where it has increased more than 258% as is the case in Australia where these statistics have been recorded:

Average Aussie crypto portfolio grew 258% in FY 20-21, survey reveals

Quote
The average portfolio size on Australian cryptocurrency exchange BTC Markets has grown from $577.65 (795.5 Australian dollars) to $2,069.16 (2849.5 AUD) in the financial year 2021, signaling a 258.2% increase in portfolio holdings, according to exchange data compiled by Statista on a recent BTC Markets survey.

So if individual economies are strengthened with cryptocurrencies giving good investment results, the sports industry will never miss this type of opportunity to establish the best business model.

We also see various sponsorships, brand deals and partnerships coming from crypto bookies so that's the extent that these sports are coming up. But there are also some countries that are not agree with this so they're becoming strict with their implementation about rules that tackles gambling even if it's their country team that will benefit from it.

And for those teams or companies, they can also strengthen through their own adoption through selling merch and accept payments in crypto.

Restrictions are normal, but if the government will accept crypto gambling and regulate it fairly then that would strengthen the future of sports gambling which would gain a massive amount of money as bettors love to use crypto coins for gambling, the most popular coin use in gambling is bitcoin.

Massive adoption is on different kinds of usage, and gambling industry as a huge contribution on that, so it should be viewed as a tax revenue opportunity by the government.

If you want an honest opinion on the matter, what I see about this is that there is really nothing that I can see that would influence sports as far as cryptocurrencies are concerned. Right now Bitcoin and the major cryptocurrencies are currently confined to betting in sports. Nothing in the part wherein the major coins themselves will sponsor the said sports events and that is highly unlikely as the major sports corporations still has tons of cash that they can use to organize the events.

Its true that they do still have lots of cash for them to organized events. For now we do still stick on online casinos kind of application but talking about sports then it isnt

Hope you are aware of the fact that blockchain and cryptocurrencies are two different entities as their applications are complete different and may serve different solutions in most cases. Cryptocurrencies are just another mode of payments but blockchain adoptions into sport could do more efficient and non-alterable data management without any interruption from any kind of authorities.

As of now, I am not seeing any crypto casino is making use of blockchain for any of their need but simply adopting cryptocurrencies for getting its gamblers more convenient way for deposing and withdrawing funds. I guess we must need another decade of time before we do experience the real application of blockchain in casino and in sports

Unless a big crisis happens to most big countries and people do not trust their government, they will start to use crypto, but fiat will still exist among us. After all, it still needs more time for people to use crypto legally in their country because the government needs to research for more before they accept crypto. The people's awareness will increase that crypto is not just for buying and selling in the market but also for paying salaries in crypto form.

Many crypto sports betting sites sponsoring the teams and individuals can open people's eyes to see the crypto ads and if they often see those ads, that can make them curious. The curiosity will lead them to research and find out more about crypto.

For some specific sports, it just lessened but it's not a 'no-go'.

Look at those casinos that keep on sponsoring sporting events and teams, they are still there so even with the potential ban that's being worried by everyone.

There's no way to stop those casinos supporting and giving sponsorships to any event and sports that they like and has a wide reach.

Really? It's an effort to see a gambling platform that developed their own blockchain to support and verify the bets. I mean, is it really possible because do you think it'll gonna be a waste of effort since the platform might get low users and eventually the platform will be closed? Blockchain isn't very easy to developed and just being used in a gambling platform.

I dont see up about been strengthen with crypto because its just too impossible that it cant really be noticed if ever there are imposed restrictions.
For some specific sports, it just lessened but it's not a 'no-go'.

Look at those casinos that keep on sponsoring sporting events and teams, they are still there so even with the potential ban that's being worried by everyone.

There's no way to stop those casinos supporting and giving sponsorships to any event and sports that they like and has a wide reach.

i don't think the casino sponsorships will be wiped out. a lot are still sponsoring some leagues or individuals. it is just a matter of what jurisdiction they will collaborate with. let's admit that the sports industry also need these casinos to survive. even their athletes need this as this is another source of their income. if they are paying what is due, then, i guess should have no problem with that.
let's take for example, if the crypto casino is located in el salvador, what do you think will be their approach regarding sponsorships in sports? i guess, they will be very accommodating. so if one closes the door, there will be a lot that will open doors for these casinos' sponsorships.

Too early to say in short but we could really see the potential but for now then it isnt really that much giving out some impact but at least we are seeing some glimpse that it could really be possible but not for now.
Its true that they do still have lots of cash for them to organized events. For now we do still stick on online casinos kind of application but talking about sports then it isnt
really still that much of relevant.

I think they may influence sports but most of all they influence the betting business around the sports. There are many factor that contribute to this: some people made quite a bit of money with bitcoin and there are happy to enjoy playing with it. Also, some dedicated sites accept crypto, which makes it even easier to play. Finally, promoting these sites in Bitcointalk is very straightforward and cheaper than other options.

Probably through sponsorships and charity that involves cryptocurrencies, for example, a crypto company or crypto devs could pledge a donation or donate something that involves or benefits sports like erecting gymnasium, courts and other sports facilities.

That would really help too, most that I saw are through sponsorships, I saw one crypto as a sponsor on the kickboxing fight, I can't remember the specific fight anymore because I'm not really a fan of kickboxing but I just notice that Logo which I can easily spot since I'm too active in crypto.

Totally agree, there's no way that crypto can improve sports, it's the other way around I think because bitcoin doesn't have that much utility outside of what it's used, the only way that I think that crypto can strengthen sports is hosting an event or something like that.

I would have loved if your question or subject line goes like this " To what extent can crypto currency be strengthen with sport" as that would have really make more sense in my opinion. This is because I don't really see how crypto currency can influence sport but rather how sport can influence crypto currency, though this is my personal opinion.

Sponsorship is the way to strengthened crypto in the people's eyes because they will see a logo from the crypto and if they have curiosity, they will search for what is that. I think we already see in the football which has a token for their club so when they are in the competitions and wears that logo in their shirt, many people will see that. That surely will strengthen the crypto position in the people, especially those who already invest their money in crypto.

Imagine the impact of sponsorships via cryptocurrency like people would be aware of its existence, thus increasing its popularity on the long run. The application of cryptocurrencies into sports may be difficult to materialize but sponsorships and pledges can do the trick.

The last phrase that you mentioned makes much more sense than the question phrased by OP. Like up to what extent can sport influence the popularity and widespread of cryptocurrency given that thousands to millions of people watch it everyday? I feel like it can have a positive impact in the long-run by attracting new investors and users to its market.

I wouldn't really think so....? I mean in the first place, sponsorships are done by companies, as a sort of advertisement for their business, they don't really specify what form or medium their sponsorship is, that would just be... well, odd. It could even be a damn waste of time which instead could be used to lengthen the duration or increase the size of their names popping out from whatever sort of sponsorship they are doing. Maybe if a sponsor was centered around a coin instead of their company, then maybe, just maybe, it could work.

So this is the way that it could be strengthened? Lets say that currency neither fiat or digital will only just served as a tool for being used in part of such activity but doesnt mean that it could really be boosted up when

it comes to sports industry because it would always matter on the demand itself not just on basing up on crypto tie up because it has nothing to do with this industry. It does have different purpose and how it

works and this isnt the main basis for neither a failure or success of a certain business.

we are in times when the blockchain through cryptocurrencies is entering a new moment for sports, before which and how far will we advance in this new scenario?

This is like saying how can grass help sports - it is totally irrelevant and one has little bearing on the other. The only way it has filtered through is probably in the form of sponsorship money. The regulators and sporting bodies are slowly catching on to the idea that throwing up gambling advertisements in front of a predominantly young  and impressionable audience is probably a bad idea. They have probably had a bad influence on sports in general really, by flooding more money into the hands of football clubs who already pay far too much for players and take part in this ever increasing inflation of wages to ridiculous amounts. No football player should end up costing over a $100 million, but there are now several.

That's a good idea but it's just like a project-based benefit using crypto for funding those projects. There's so much more aside from that if somebody wants to use cryptocurrencies to be beneficial with the sports that they're related.
The best in my opinion have already been said on what can be beneficial with the use of crypto to give that much highlight not only for the sport but as well as for crypto and that's in financing or giving salary.

I guess you have a valid point here and that makes some sense besides sports was already here before cryptocurrencies has been introduced. Crypto wouldn't prosper if let alone it has a single purpose like a store of value or something similar, it should have other use case and it should be widely used across other stuffs like sports.
Crypto is applied on several  industries which doesnt really only limit out on gambling but also in games as well but its true that gambling had been here on this market before crypto existed
so it doesnt really need that much for us to say that it is really that needed or required because sports could go without needing any something which means
it isnt really that much of a concern for us to look upon.
