Title: Sberbank steals a startup
Post by: pugilist555 on July 04, 2021, 07:41:23 PM
Large corporations have ceased to notice the intellectual property rights of young visionaries. The last boundaries are crossed with ease, appropriating not only ideas, but also ready-made solutions.

As time has shown, state-owned companies go too far. Bank of Memories https://bankofmemories.org/ (https://bankofmemories.org/) - A startup, application for storing and transmitting information - has been run by a group of enthusiasts since 2016. Driven by the idea, they developed it with the aim of recording what is most important - the memories of the moments they lived through. People can already use their developments, each in its own way.

The recent PR campaign of SBERBANK showed how easy it is to collect files from gullible startups and people burning with ideas, without noticing the ownership rights, presenting stolen ideas as internal development. Can this be seen as piracy, or just a manifestation of the strength and impunity of a large company?

In the summer of 2018, at the international forum in Astana at the opening of the AIFC https://pro.bmcoin.io/news/en/global-silk-road-astans-finance-days-en/ (https://pro.bmcoin.io/news/en/global-silk-road-astans-finance-days-en/), the author of the startup, Andrey Melanchik, an ambitious startup. One of the many international representatives to whom the project was presented was German Gref, President of Sberbank of Russia.

in 2019, Sberbank will present an "innovative" idea -the Memory Bank by May 9  https://www.sberbank.ru/ru/press_center/all/article?newsID=efb1b8c1-629d-472b-a2ff-966023f78782&blockID=1303&regionID=77&lang=ru&type=NEWS  (https://www.sberbank.ru/ru/press_center/all/article?newsID=efb1b8c1-629d-472b-a2ff-966023f78782&blockID=1303&regionID=77&lang=ru&type=NEWS). Perhaps the majority shareholders decided that it was not worth bargaining for cooperation with a "startup" and it is much easier to present the innovation as their own.

2021 - selection forEMERGE  https://emergeconf.io/ (https://emergeconf.io/). The jury committee consists of permanent representatives - SBERBANK employees and specialists. Iryna Savitskaya, CEO of Bank of Memories, is selected and presents a working product of her company that has taken its first steps into the open market.https://bankofmemories.org/application.html (https://bankofmemories.org/application.html)

The marketing department of Sberbank finds for itself an elegant way to close KPIs and receive quarterly bonuses by launching a “new development” of an innovative corporation - a Time Capsule from Sberbank. "Done!

There were no differences in the product of the Russian bank from the application of the Ukrainian-Georgian startup Bank of Memories.
The intellectual property rights, patents, business ethics and work product of a small but already living company went unnoticed.

An important point! The "Time Capsule" is a centralized storage facility offered by Sberbank, a de facto government agency. But Bank of Memories sees it as its goal to enable users to store data and memory without disclosing it to third parties thanks to the Blockchain system and data decentralization.

This case is not the only one, there are a lot of such "Sberbanks" on the market. Speaking at the next forum, presenting a new solution - each of us will play Russian roulette: at the risk of being robbed. Paying attention to how in 2021 the community was already able to defend the right of small retailers in the fight against the WallStreet goliath, one should not discount the “community”.

The fight of a small team against the big and brazen can be equal if the public makes the case public. There are already many examples of how strong a community can be, especially in the fight against giants. Let's support Bank of Memories in its desire to provide the world with a corporate-independent service. This is our ultimatum to corporate insolence and lawlessness. Tell your friends, download the app, use independent services.
May the force be with you!

And what do you want ? Russia is a country where laws and regulations do not work. Property rights, interectual property - are not valid in Russia. Moreover, the state officially at the legislative level allowed Russian companies to steal technologies and not pay any fees to copyright holders! A country of thieves with a thieves' ideology - do not be surprised!

And there is. We want more people to know about this. And we want to show that it is necessary to inform the community about it. After all, only together we can resist these vampires of society.

Unfortunately, this resource will not give the desired result :( This is at the state level, countries must finally understand Russia is a criminal, from technology theft to state terrorism.

This resource will help us find the strongest and most reliable allies. After all, a glass of water is filled with drops. And if we feel everyone's support, we become stronger. Thanks for support.

Sberbank is the largest bank in Russia, and if this bank wants to use someone's project, it will do it.
People here, on one side, have the opinion that Russia is a thief.
And in other countries it is not so. Look at China and its army, they stole a lot of military developments from the Soviet Union.
How many other countries stole technology from the Soviet Union during 1990-2000?

Maybe the idea of an intellectual right is not something that is embedded in the culture of Russia though I am sure this can be true in other countries as well. But what can be so brazen in Russia is that it is the government itself that is not respecting the laws covering intellectual properties, and this can be the biggest source of the problem. In other words, when you are based in Russia or dealing with some Russians especially those in power or in corporate hierarchy, you have to be careful not to divulge your ideas as they can adopt as their own. Disclaimer: I am sure that all Russians have this kind of mindset, though.

If what you say was true, then half of the country would have been captured by the Chinese, and in the second half a civil war would have been fought for a long time.
Have you read the project website and what do they offer?
You can send a letter to the future with data using Google mail, Yandex mail and many other services.

Of course, this project is more ambitious and provides more opportunities for description, but on their site I did not find more than one patent or copyright registration documents.
Usually such documents are placed in the most conspicuous place.

As many people have already said here, unfortunately this is just how Russia is and will continue to be under Putin. There was a chance near the beginning of his reign that looked as if he was open to the idea of slowly opening up, however he quickly reverted towards authoritarian government when he saw the absolute power and riches it could bestow upon him. It sounds like Sberbank is one of many business - big and small - that have been plundered by the incompetent and terribly corrupt government currently in place. Unfortunately little is able to change while Putin is still alive as he will long be the puppet master even after stepping back from the charade he has built.

The fact that China stole from the USSR, and is now stealing from high-tech countries - this nickname does not justify the same theft of the USSR and then the Russian Federation. But for example, I have not heard that in China there was STATE legislation that would ALLOW Chinese companies to steal, violating patent law, whatever they want, and this will not be considered a crime. There is another nuance here - violation of patent norms will lead to sanctions against violating companies, and this is not beneficial for China - export ban = company death. China has an export-oriented economy. And Russia exports almost nothing except natural resources, from high-tech. Well, let there be a weapon, although, as the last couple of years have shown, they have super technologies only in cartoons, but in practice the systems are not so "super-technological". And again - in this area the Russian Federation will not dare to violate patents, tk. will fall under the ban on the supply of weapons outside the Russian Federation, and this is the second largest source of income, and against the background of a systemic budget decline in recent years, this will only lead to an acceleration of the economic collapse.
