Before the birth of Bitcoin, we never thought that private individuals could issue currency, nor did we think that digital currency could truly be used as a payment medium, let alone the rationality of the existence of legal currency. But when Bitcoin was born, everything changed.

We began to doubt the monetary exploitation of us by government agencies. We began to think about the irrationality of various centralized financial institutions. We started fighting for our currency independence. We began to use Bitcoin to protect our wealth from inflation. We began to think about all kinds of injustices in society.

In this process, I think our biggest change is that our minds have been liberated. We began to pursue freedom of thought. We are no longer imprisoned by the opinions propagated by various media. There are countless possibilities in our brains.

I believe that thought is the most powerful tool of mankind, and it is the eternal source of our lives. It brings soul to the development of our entire society. Once social development deviates from the consensus of most people, new ideas will be born, guiding human civilization on the right track of development.

The birth of Bitcoin truly liberated my mind and broke the confinement of my mind. Make the impossible possible. I believe that the highest state of freedom is the freedom of thought, and the decentralized thinking brought about by Bitcoin infinitely magnifies this freedom.

We are free to post and exchange in bitcointalk today, which is to constantly clash of ideas. We have gained real growth in this collision.

People have been very alarmed by central banks even before Bitcoin. It's just that Bitcoin was the first solution that actually gained enough traction for us to actually have a decentralized form of money without a messed-up monetary policy.

many users of bitcoin suddenly was.wide awaked when we learned history of money, how money wrks and how it controls society. watching andreas antonop videos can liberate your mind.

i'm probably one of the user who look at it deeper that i started listening to conspiracy theories that today i doubt every thing reported by media for they could be state sponsored. the ideas clashes inside my head actually. but true theres a lot to learn from the posts and exchanges of the users.

Bitcoin is considered as a disruptor...now as to the extent it can be disrupting things we will be learning of that fully maybe in the next 10 years of its existence. By the 20th anniversary of Bitcoin, that would be the time we can closely examine the many things it is contributed to the society more specially on finance, banking and money. In other words, Bitcoin is like a Pandora box and once it is open there is no stopping the many repercussions it can be brining be it good or bad.

It just showed that everything that had happened before BTC could be manipulated, especially when bubbles were popping up and no transparency between transactions depending on the financial asset that is being hyped. What I like the most about BTC is that its transparency and no transactions to hide. That simple idea makes it even more valuable that we all need trust in the trustless system.

What I think about this "freedom of thought" you are talking about is what Bitcoin has enabled us to do, and it sprung so many projects that help us, humans, to propel even further. That's the best thing.

A very well written post. I do believe that what you are referring to is something that everyone can relate with. People did not have any option before bitcoins and after it's creation they get to decide what they do with their own money. Banks are a much needed asset but they do not have any scope of further growth. Plus with all the rules and the manipulations, it's getting harder for people to trust on them, yet alone invest. At the same time their credibility have taken the biggest hit during the pandemic. We are seeing the collapse of world's biggest economies and bitcoins might be the only way out if the situation becomes dire.

Just to note, that scrip was issued for millennia until the collectivist authoritarians (socialist, fascist, communist etc) found that they could use inflation to destroy countries and to have a hidden tax on everyone who was under their control.  It is the "progressive" (really regressive away from freedom) dream to have control of the products of every person in the world and fiat currencies help to enable that.  Once they had ended any type of peg to an asset, they ended up destroying things even more.  Look at Germany in the 1930s, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, China etc.  

Even look at how much the British pound, the US dollar, the Euro, have lost in value over time.  Anyone who thinks that these people promising "free" stuff are really trying to help you, aren't paying attention.  They are manipulating people in order to get their votes to siphon away their wealth.

This "global minimum tax" is an anti-freedom, anti-competition, pro-monopoly policy in order to extract more money from people so that the power hungry politicians in government can take a cut for themselves in terms of money and power.  

Corporations are only tax collectors, they don't actually pay taxes.  So all these "fair share" people are attempting to delude people through the politics of envy, and divide people through the politics of hate in order to conquer them.

Bitcoin didn't exist in the 20th century so there were no investors or traders in the field of bitcoin.

Individuals issuing currency is a huge risk. Anyone and everyone then will become a billionaire. It's good that crypto market usually rejects shit projects. For this reason we have tens of thousands of deadcoins in the market. Not ideal.

Good view! Bitcoin indeed helped some people to overcome the dependency on government created financial ecosystem. But sadly, a very little percentage of people are concerned about the anonymity and security. People are just happy to invest in it through centralized exchanges and enjoy the rollercoaster ride thrown to them. For them, the value of bitcoin is only its price and nothing else!

Private money as a concept existed long before Bitcoin, I know that Hayek envisioned them, but maybe there are even earlier examples. And digital payments have existed long before Bitcoin too.

To add to the good points you raised that people already felt disappointed with banks, the numerous monetary policies by the government are not checked properly, making the people subsceptible to fraud, over charge in fees transaction. The banks used their system to charge indiscriminately over board against monetary regulations. You get alerts of different unwarranted charges and this got people to be fade up in the banking system. So people were already looking for escape before the advent of bitcoin.

     And thus, we owe it to satoshi and all the people behind bitcoin whatever this industry is today and whatever it may become in the future. For everyone wants freedom(not just financial) ever since the dawn of time, a couple of brilliant minds like satoshi in various timelines in the history of man have made huge efforts and contributions so that we may come this far. The big banking institutions take people's money and take unnecessary risks with this money so as to maximize their profit... and when something goes wrong and they are about to fail, the government has to step in and bail them out because there are big time ramification for all sorts of people when these institutions go down. It is very nice to have freedom of thought. But freedom of thought is just the first step. I think it is easy to have it. I can think of anything in my mind, even the most radical of things. But then what am I to do with these thoughts when the society around me is not open to it?

This is the same with Bitcoin. It is a great technology. We have so much vision with it. We are imagining the future world with it being the main currency. But if we get out of our minds and look at the reality, Bitcoin still has a way to go in terms of being accepted as it is.

I think that in the past few years or so, people have deviated from the intended use of bitcoin and what truly it stands for and why it was originally created, and i think that a large portion of the user base only view it as an investment and way to make money and to profit from, and they really don't care about the fact that it changes a lot of systems that have gotten more and more corrupt over the years, and it really gives the power back to the people, and that is the idea that people should really take in consideration when investing in bitcoin in order for it to succeed.

Yes, and Bitcoin has somewhat liberated our minds already. It is sad that most people tend to just buy Bitcoin for quick profits, but I guess it is still an opening for them to learn the other side of the coin that it is meant to be an alternative payment method.
I gotta be honest that I saw a bit from Bitcoin as something that could make someone rich because of the price instability, but now I realized the freedom it brought to me, when a certain friend of me told me about his story about how banks screwed him over and over.

I can agree that quick in terms of profits is not the healthiest thing to do, but if it were not for the profits, nobody would know about Bitcoin today. The word "FREEDOM". for me that's reason why despite of being useful of bitcoin, government still against in it because of some factors that involved and yes the number one issue from them is, it gives people a freedom which is to become anonymous and out of control.  So even we keep pushing bitcoin that it brought us true freedom, there's no way government will agree in it.. 1.The concept of a currency,which is not created and owned by the government exists way before Bitcoin.
2.Paypal(digital currency) existed years before Bitcoin was created.

I still remember when I wanted to send a large amount of money but it took 6 hours with various questions from the bank, it was an annoying moment. but when Bitcoin exists, we can send any amount of money to another wallet easily and quickly.

I disagree about not being dependent on third-party systems because in my country, that's what we use for our bitcoin when we are selling it and we want to spend it on fiat. Probably you are right that we become more financially independent after bitcoin and I do hope that if it's the case, we continue to have that financial independence.

at least by using a crypto exchange that is officially recognized by the government, we can avoid scammers under the guise of an exchange. some countries do require crypto exchanges to be audited or officially inspected by state financial institutions so that their people can safely enjoy the services of the crypto world.

issuing a currency in real life is something that cannot be done easily but it need more steps and requirement before you can create your own  but digital currency is already a thing ever since internet came out because business can be done online and its a hassel if they will use physical currencies  .
now that we have btc and cryptos ,

I am not sure about that but I think I understand what you mean mate. But for me maybe financial freedom is more appropriate for it. Every country has their own ideology and usually most of the citizens are use that ideology in their life. I personally love my country so I use my country ideology as long as it's in line with my religion law. Now every company can create their own money which mean that the use of fiat may be decrease. Everybody in this forum can easily digest and understand, also be able to empathize with you that they feel they are also feeling what you are feeling. The days of regulated money management will be over. No more high fees and middle men. No more manipulation by bankers and financial experts. There are truly an everyday man's currency that cannot be controlled by Big Brother. The exchange of ideas also makes you feel empowered and be able to stand on your own on certain issues. 

I agree that creation of Bitcoin gave to lots of people on the planet opportunities and even changed minds of lots of. But I can not agree that nowadays people are not influenced by media and not manipulated by news or famous people's statements. Not so long ago we saw how many people are stiil do not filter the information from the Internet and are affected by other opinions, like with some tokens made of air. So we have a long path, and there are still affected by different factors and opinions.

It didn't start from Bitcoin but Bitcoin is getting all the praise because it did it with the trending technology which was the internet. The world was getting digitalized and for we to transact decentralizing using the internet was the breakthrough. Before Bitcoin people didn't trust the banks just that they didn't have better alternative. In my country we have those that don't make use of banks but they're quite rich or living well which means they had the money and needed to store/protect it.

The problem isn't that they don't know how to operate the cards or apps that they'll need to access their money but just that they know the system is controlled and can't be trusted. They didn't need to have to take permission to access their funds or get restricted from the hard eaen money. This set of users keep their money in their house or buried them. This wasn't such a perfect alternative which is where Bitcoin comes in.

With bitcoin they can access that full control over their funds not having to worries about the government seizing them or getting restricted from access them. Bitcoin made it more simple & easier which is what makes it the best alternative to the banks.

When people learn about bitcoin, they also tend to learn about monetary history (as mentioned above) and often times actually become more conscious of saving generally speaking in their lives --saving more and getting more educated are of course great things and it's amazing how bitcoin has become the means to this.

I read the half article.. in between reading something else, What I think is that bitcoin isn't directly promoting the freedom of thought because it's a cryptocurrency.
But there can be forums or websites in the future that will be decentralized and will be on Blockchain so everything said on the website is final but creating such a website or public service will be quite hard.
