Hi, I've seen plenty of bookmakers on this forum but never a betting exchange like Betfair for fiat.

I was wondering, have you ever heard of a betting exchange using cryptocurrencies ?

I remember we have a crypto betting exchange but I can't remember the name, maybe because it's not so popular here as we are used to gambling with sportsbooks in our usual way.

I was actually thinking the same but do we still have more crypto betting exchange apart from this or could this be the biggest crypto  betting exchange because it's the most popular and have come acrossed it in different discussion threads.

I think you already understand and are familiar with gambling sites that use crypto betting exchanges, the reason: simple because you are familiar with several sites that offer crypto betting exchanges.

OP meant sports betting exchange where you can take the bet of another sports bettor and in return you get the best odds possible compared to the traditional bookmakers.

The only crypto sports betting exchange i've tried so far is Fairlay (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=673475.0) they have a good reputation but fees are a bit high than most sportsbooks and you can find more exchanges in this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=717790.0).

I guess you are guys miss understanding.

Try to check on "BetFair" first, I believe what @OP means in some betting sportsbook but not only "odds" also have some (fiat) how much money in the pools showing as fiat on the bet. Try to look this one, example from @OP : https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/

If you see on the explanation, the betting is against the user not the bookmaker. Correct me if wrong @OP.

This is not a recommendation, since I have no personal experience with any of these platforms. Everyone should do their own research and due diligence.

I am surprised so many guys are unsure of what a sports betting exchange is. Sports betting exchange means you don't bet against the house but you simply lay or back a market. Lay means you are allowing others to take the market while back means you are backing the market to win.

There are no betting exchanges that exist in crypto right now and candidly speaking, I don't think we even have any sportsbook that matches the fluency of the fiat sportsbooks. With all respect to all the sportsbooks we have, we are still far behind in terms of features, speed, coverage and availability of bets.

Anyways, it would be cool to see a betting exchange with crypto in the future.

Well I have known 2 betting exchange that is very popular here in the forum and that would be

1.) 1xbit - this gambling site includes Sportbooks, Live Betting, Live Casino, and Lotteries, No fees for Deposit and withdrawals online poker, and lots of rewards and bonuses for their players they have a Curacao license Deposit and withdraw using BTC, DOGE, GAME, XEM/NEM, ETH, BCN, SIB, XRM, ZEC, and BCN

2.) Sportsbet.io this gambling site is I think more popular than 1xbit it has a Bitcoin sportsbook, live casino, and bitcoin casino it has a mobile site fast and anonymous registration, also have a Curacao license as well, they have a support contract that I think reliable.

If you are interested then I think you should be the one to make your research about these sites and gamble moderately.

For those wondering, i've found "exbet" to be what I was looking for. I've never used it so far, so I don't know if it is trustworthy.

From what I can tell, those are not betting exchanges, but regular bookmakers. Do you even know what betting exchange means?

Moreover, where did you get the information that 1xbit is very popular here? I am not aware of any other casino that has more negative ratings than them.

Thanks for the explanation but I guess if one uses boosted odds on sportsbet or elite markets like someone cloudbet or stake (for UFC) offers, then we can easily get the same odds as we would get in such markets. I wasn't fully aware of this yet so good to know but don't think it would make a huge difference.

For example, I checked fairly and they had 1.75 and 2.12 odds for an event and usually, you get the same odds for normal sportsbooks. Another pair I checked had 1.54 and 2.4 something odds and I have surely seen better odds.

That depends on the market you're looking for because bookies have their own way of juicing odds like they'll always put the juice on favorites so it's always better to have options or maybe spread your funds between several sportsbooks. Also the range of markets on exchanges is much better as they always have several alternate lines compared to sportsbooks but they lack promotions and contests. In the end it depends on what you prefer, I also use sportsbooks regularly but it doesn't hurt to use exchanges once in a while.

All people promoting this gambling site are receiving red trust by DTs. If you didn't see that, you should be more careful next time because you could be accused of being a shill of them. :-[ Moreover it's not a betting exchange, neither is sportsbet.io, that's just 2 "classic" sportsbooks.

You are quite confusing in this statement. You have seen bookmakers in the forum, then, knowing that this is a cryptocurrency forum, then it's almost automatic that the currency being used is crypto.

So that's settled and then you asked

Check a local bookmaker in your place or search Google for online bookmakers or something. Then obviously you wouldn't see anything here that could automatically be considered as a fiat receiver type of gambling site.

It just shows the amount of spammers and shitposters replying without even knowing what they are talking about. The amount of spam in this section is getting really worrying, that's ok to be a noob but not being able at least to make a search on google before replying to a random topic is not a newbie related issue. Bounty Managers and moderators should do something against that.

I've already ask this question to sportbettor few weeks ago and he quoted me the following 3 ones but I think you can add Augur which is almost a betting exchange and degens.com cited by Fatfork above

If you do not have relevant experience, then of course you can misunderstand the OP, I know about betting exchanges, but at first I also thought that he was just looking for an exchange.
As I understand it, the lack of popular crypto-based betting exchanges is due to the traditional problem - low liquidity. 99.9% of all money is in fiat and all the best bets are there ...

actually you can get some good crypto gambling betting exchanges by looking at some of the threads here and maybe you can also consider gambling sites that do hold bounties in the current forum, fortunejack, rollbit are gambling sites that are widely promoted by members here, but if you are If you want to try a different gambling site and offer a large selection of games, of course you can try to access https://www.bk8crypto.com/ which is one of the biggest and most trusted gambling sites in Asia today, besides that BK8 is also a gambling site which already has an official license from PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) and is also licensed by the government of Curacao and Malta.

FatFork has mentioned another one above : degens.com Have you already made a review about it? I think you could add it to your list of crypto betting exchange. But it would also be interesting to know which one has the most volume and liquidity. AFAIK fairlay is the most popular here but I don't know if it's enough to get the biggest liquidity.

that is true . 1xbit is really popular in this forum . popular for being a scam :D  . maybe he is not aware of that because he proudly promote the site .

yes lots of comments with a regular bettting site thats not the op is looking for but there are some users that provide links of betting exchange . check the reply of sportbettor and fatfork

Don't know if you have found the one that works for you but given how you have a really generalized criteria for betting sites, I think the sites given by other users in this thread is enough variety for you because you have a lot to choose from.

In general, I should note that all cryptocurrency betting exchanges have very low liquidity and a limited choice of bet types, so, in my opinion, it is not worth dealing with them.

OP already gave an example which is Betfair and afaik they're one of the biggest betting exchanges. The example alone is enough to give an idea of what he's looking for but I guess a lot of gamblers don't use betting exchanges. Also he mentioned "for fiat" because the site only accepts fiat deposits.

There's no need to suggest casinos and sportsbooks when OP already said he's going to use exbet.
