Title: Will Bitcoin be infinite?
Post by: Tina H on July 08, 2021, 06:42:00 AM
The Simpsons, in an episode of the 32nd season, data on the virtual market shows that the development of Bitcoin is a symbol of infinity. For us, green means rising.
Do you think Bitcoin will be unlimited in the future?

What do you mean exactly by unlimited? The prices or the supply? Because if it's the supply then it's not going to happen because there's only a limited supply of it so I don't think that we will be seeing bitcoin become infinite in a foreseeable future. The prices on the other hand could go up forever if you know what I'm saying, so long as people are using bitcoin, I guess the prices will be infinity.

If I am getting you right, you mean infinite in time or in value? Nothing man-made is infinite in time. Bitcoin like any other creation will live for a time and then become obsolete, change into something else or simply disappear as everything in history except human stupidity - but that was given by the gods  ;) I understand your question is merely philosophical, in practice bitcoin will last for a period of time, but it may be quite a long period indeed. Being first matters a lot in terms of trust and community and bitcoin was the first reasonably successful attempt at creating a decentralised digital mean of exchange.

If you mean infinite in value... well, just do not take The Simpsons as financial advice. Even if they do not have a disclaimer about it.

As much as the question is not clear, I'll try to answer based on my understanding. If your question is Will the value of Bitcoin be infinite, the answer is yes and no.

Theoretically, the value of Bitcoin can be infinite if a trader is not willing to sell to a buyer at any price. However on the other hand, the reverse is the case when an individual is willing to purchase Bitcoin at an infinite amount. For example of the price of 1BTC is $100,000,000,000(one hundred billion) dollars nobody will want to buy at that rate because it basically unaffordable and the rate is at infinity.

Unlimited in what way? You mean the total supply or something else? I have seen a figure that looks like horizontal 8 used in representing infinity but don't know what that's really about. Is that what you mean by infinity? Hope you can explain what you mean to help me determine if it's possible with Bitcoin.  Just hope it's not about Bitcoin supply.

infinity in terms of the number of circulation? if this is what you mean then it won't happen
satoshi has programmed a Bitcoin circulation of only 21 million, it cannot be subtracted or added and there is a halving event, which happens every 4 years

you can't believe too much in the Simsons cartoon myth because a lot of it was predicted there but it never happened
keep learning and only trust from this forum

WhT you're trying to say is kinda all over the place. What do you mean exactly by infinite? If it's in terms of total number of bitcoin's, that's just absurd. Max supply cap is put into place for obvious reasons, plus it also helps preserve bitcoin's value. If infinite in terms of its existence, no one can tell. There could be lots of potential replacements for bitcoin in the next years or decades and we wouldn't know until we're there.

Do you think Bitcoin will be unlimited in the future?

No.

1. No unlimited price. The price cannot get to infinite, it will always have a clear value.

2. No unlimited quantity. The quantity cannot be infinite, Bitcoin has a fixed maximum supply.

3. No unlimited lifespan. It cannot "go on" forever, because the machines needed for it - internet, nodes, miners - need electricity and maintenance, hence it cannot survive longer than the human race, which, under current known circumstances won't survive more than this solar system. That's again, far from infinite.

If in terms of quantity, I don't think that would be possible because there are a lot of things that we need to consider before thinking that way. First is the fact that it consumes too much fossil fuel just to mine bitcoin and wishing for an infinite number of it would definitely destroy mother nature. Also, the value of it will be affected as the supply continues to grow endlessly. Simpsons might have predicted a lot of happenings in the world but still let us be practical and logical before jumping into conclusions on the hints they are showing.

Bitcoin's growth potential might be defined as infinite ∞.

Every year some bitcoin is lost and unrecoverable. Someone forgets their private key or password. Or unfortunately passes away, leaving their next of kin without a means of recovering lost coins. Bitcoin's supply shrinks as a result, making BTC a more scarce asset.

If bitcoin were defined purely in terms of increasing scarcity alone. By a growing quantity of coins that were lost and couldn't be recovered. Its growth potential in value, might be defined as infinite. Being that the trend will continue as long as people continue to utilize btc. Which could translate to value appreciation, as long as people continue to use bitcoin. In that sense btc might be as close to infinite as anything humans create.

i feel what you say is correct because the price of BTC will keep increasing over time and maybe in the future the value of 1 BTC will be a value of infinity but if you are saying the supply of BTC is infinite then we have to review the value of BTC in the future will be like?.

1. No unlimited price. The price cannot get to infinite, it will always have a clear value.

This!
Every single time a bitcoin is sold, bought, traded, exchanged, used it will be at a price and a ratio against something, it will not be something like "I will give you on satoshi and you give me unlimited dollars/gold/hotdogs forever". It will always have a value even if there is only one satoshi left in the world and the entire galaxy is using a quintillionth of a satoshi as a standard denomination.

Infinity is an abstract concept, it has no place in a real economy.

And I remember that Simpsons episode, the infinity was about the change in price, nothing else.

https://i.imgur.com/fg2lqRo.jpeg

Even if we talk about the numbers of coins, assuming we change the protocol and there will be no more halving and we keep minting coins with every block, there will still be a number of x coins at any given y time. Even 10 trillion years in the future the number will be of a value, x or z, not infinity.

Which could translate to value appreciation, as long as people continue to use bitcoin. In that sense btc might be as close to infinite as anything humans create.

Bitcoin would not be able to reach quadrillions of trillions if there is nothing of that value in the world for it to reflect that, before Bitcoin would be able to grow near-infinite humans would have to create stuff that is worth near infinite. So, who will be first, the chicken or the egg?  ;D

Bitcoin is unlimited now and even in the future. The supply seem limited but the pricing of bitcoin and it's value are not. The reason for infinite nature of bitcoin is decentralize and uncontrollable phenomenon of bitcoin and that means demand and supply are not controllable which makes price not fixed but fluctuating.

I hoped that OP would have clarified us by what he or she meant by finite. So many have asked and yet no response. It almost seems like OP is watching the thread he or she created but, I really hope that's not it and perhaps, OP is just engaged with other things. Anyway, should it be about the supply, we all know that to be finite and the date at which the last bitcoin would be mined has already been speculated to be around 2040, thats if I recall correctly.
For the price or value, uts always going yo depend on the laws of demand and supply. Though supply may be finite, the liquidity would always vary and the value or price would vary as such.

I think everything what we have at the moment might only vanish in the end or it will keep fourishing until its value becomes very high already. The value of bitcoin will keep in surging because as every year comes, the demand for bitcoin becomes excessive too but i don't think its supply will reach into infinity as everything will have no clear destination in the end. We'll know then when we will reach that point.

I think I've watched that small scene and that pertains to the unlimited value of bitcoin. We all know that bitcoin is limited in supply so that's certain to the value of bitcoin with that infinite symbol. @OP, we'll never know how much bitcoin will be in the future but as such described in that episode, the author or Matt thinks that the future value of bitcoin is going to rise into infinity that we're all be surprised because there's a real potential that its price will grow as high as we can think.

The number of bitcoins is limited. The total amount is 21 million pieces. This is known to everyone, so the number of Bitcoins is limited.
The price of Bitcoin fluctuates up and down and cannot be unlimited, which is also unreasonable.
Through the supply and demand of Bitcoin and the recognition of Bitcoin, it can be said that the value of Bitcoin is unlimited. In the future, Bitcoin will definitely develop with the advancement of technology. It can be said that the future of Bitcoin is unlimited.

21M coins is certainly a very low number for more than 8Billion people in the world. You can't say BTC is infinite but 1 BTC has 8 digits though which you one person could own just 10,000 satoshis (0.00010000 BTC) this is a lot when in the future price skyrockets such they predicted as 1BTC = $1M.

What is going to make it infinite I think is the synthetic assets like wBTC and rBTC.

Bitcoin is not infinite its number is limited and very few people know how to use bitcoin rises to the top based on its demand. With the rise in the price of bitcoin development gradually increased and helped to brighten the future the contribution of a country's central bank is infinite the central bank has to act prudently in the event of various financial scandals or market turmoil in some cases, central banks have come under fire. But the central bank has to review the whole economic situation and take any policy decision that will affect all the people in the society.

In terms of supply, there is nothing in the world that can be provided indefinitely. But if it is value, Bitcoin has no upper limit in my opinion. It has this potential. As time goes by, more and more people will accept it, and its value will be higher.

Bitcoin's supply is fixed and limited, and it cannot be issued unlimitedly.
But the value of Bitcoin is unlimited. Because of the scarcity of Bitcoin, Bitcoin has a certain value. With the recognition of Bitcoin in some regions, and even some countries adopting Bitcoin as legal currency, people's demand will increase, and the value of Bitcoin will also increase. Therefore, the value of Bitcoin has unlimited potential.

The price of Bitcoin must have a limit...

I'm not sure the value of Bitcoin will be higher than $1 million. it is impossible that the price of 1 Bitcoin will reach $50 million or $100 million. maybe others think the same as me.

If by that you mean what society and people can use Bitcoin for is infinite then I would agree to some extent as long as it is used for good alone. Afterall it's decentralized and has can be freely used by free people without limit unlike centralized systems.
One of the features that can be used for lots of things is the private keys. You could absolutely use it for lot of things including locking your door and other private properties and truely feel safe because nobody but you knows the keys to unlock them. I think the point you want to make is not clear, and I don't know whether the quantity or the price you want to say. In terms of quantity, the number of bitcoins is fixed. But the value of Bitcoin is unlimited. It is precisely because of the scarcity of the quantity and the increase of people's demand for it that the value of Bitcoin will continue to increase.

Infinite is a weird word, like it should be.... never ending? Unlimited? I still think that "one day" bitcoin will be something gone, it will not be around, this could be 100 years, this could be a thousand years or who knows maybe tomorrow because tbf we never know, it is a tech thing and maybe they will find quantum computing which can wreck havoc in all of crypto in a nanosecond, none of that is known.

However I am sure it is not going to be unlimited, it is 21 million and it will stay that way as long as it keeps being decentralized, we are just way too secure for that to happen, the day that changes means the day bitcoin dies and nobody wants it to die like that. So all in all I would say that in amount it will be finite, but in time it will once again be finite, the only thing that is "infinite" is the price, which is always up and down so we can't exactly say it has a limit.

How to contradict yourself in one line.

Nah, I don't thin bitcoin are going to be infinite. The halving process will make sure they the amount of bitcoins we become will go down towards 0. Eventually mining doesn't become profitable anymore.

For a 5-year-old member, how can you say this?
Is now bitcoin mining profitable for you? If everyone quits mining will it be profitable for the one single miner left or not?
What about the fees, those will not split in half, for the entire year we had close to 10-15% fee in reward ratio and we're still at 6.25 per block, even with those empty blocks mined lately and near-empty mempool we're still getting more than 24BTC in fees in 24h.

Apart from this, there is one thing people should understand about this infinite value.
Assuming we change the protocol, we switch to 100 BTC mined a block, 14,400 coins a day, 5,256,000 coins a year, one million years from now!!!!  ;D we will still have only 5 trillion coins! How close are we to ∞ ? No coin is really infinite, they have an unlimited supply but at any given time that number has a value, no matter how big it is.

I don't think so. it's just that the price of bitcoin will continue to increase if there are more and more users. and that doesn't mean the price will go up too, it will still be the same as it is now there are times when the market will be green and sometimes it will be red.

I have good thought on this: The price might be unlimited one day, but BTC is gonna be 21 million no matter what! That's how it was minted by the owner. What can happen is, there could be a day when you will have to count big stash for few Satoshi's and that's how it can be unlimited asset. Obviously this is perspective of the user, whether they are looking at BTC from the fiat point of view or the bitcoin unlimited point of view.

Bitcoin is not itself unlimited and after the last coin is mined, we will chase the other users bitcoin, trade them store them so that the value will rise. The demand and supply formula will work at it's best by this point.

As long as cryptocurrency is not the only currency existing, the price of bitcoin is infinite (in your terms). In the near future, fiat money will got hugely devalued because govt has printed a lot of moneys in the pandemic. In such case, I won't be surprised to see 1 BTC value more than a million.
But when there will be no fiat and cryptocurrency is the only monetary system, there won't be huge value increase although people still will pick BTC as store of value.

Hello
So you are one of those who believe that Simpsons can predict the future. Well for the time being I do not think that they can but on the matter of Bitcoins being ♾️ I do believe in that a bit. Since we have limited number of Bitcoins even if we follow the demand and supply simplistic version we would be able to see that in the coming time with more development and with more people accepting cryptocurrencies, we will see the graph go straight up. Which is already something that most people know therefore there is the existence of #HODL. Just using the common logic I do believe that  bitcoins will go way higher than anything, some people might call it infinity who knows?

First of all, the story show in the Simpson cartoon film cant be use to speculate the possible things that will happen in Bitcoin market but about the price of Bitcoin market to be infinity or unlimited in the future, it is possible due to the Bitcoin potentials, limited supply of Bitcoin, block halving and most investors use Bitcoin as an asset more than currency.

The number of Bitcoins is limited, with a total of 21 million.
The value of Bitcoin is unlimited. Bitcoin is scarce, and people's consensus on Bitcoin continues to increase, and they are also accepting and approving Bitcoin. As a result, the demand for Bitcoin will increase and its value will rise.

I'm trying to understand your question, maybe your question is related to the future price of bitcoin. Bitcoin price in the future can be said to be infinite because the longer the bitcoin price increases. no one knows the price of the most expensive bitcoin in the future.

Title: Re: Will Bitcoin be infinite?

Well I don't really understand your context by the words "Bitcoin being infinite" probably in the nearest future. Are you bringing it in terms of  volatility, distribution or it's uses being numerous? Looking at Bitcoin and it's continuous adoption as a means of payment system for transaction, is increasingly expanding the uses and worth of Bitcoin and the market value.

Bitcoin is becoming unlimited with time, the way investors and hedge firms are patronizing it activities consecutively is expanding Bitcoin potentials making it stronger and firm to overcome any circumstances it might face in the nearest future. The more individual countries continually adopting Bitcoin, the more it will become infinite in nature increasing it resistance toward government policies which might stand to affects it existance.

As time goes on, there would be to consensus in agitating about how Bitcoin becomes inevitably infinite towards obstacles that could have jeopardize the expansion and limit the acceptance of Bitcoin by the society as a medium of transactions and payment system.

Infinity is different from unlimited and it can never be possible that Bitcoin becomes unlimited.
But in the case of infinity, can't really be sure about that. Nevertheless, it was speculated that Bitcoin will stay in the market for many years to come and I was happy enough. But then, we can't easily make presumptions and confidence that the price of Bitcoin will also move higher and too expensive because if that will happen, I can imagine how risky it was to be.

If ever the price of Bitcoin will reach $1mil, maybe I can't afford to buy them.

Bitcoin will be infinite as time passes by and because of what we are seeing today that the market of bitcoin and cryptocurrency is continuously growing as time passes by. Seeing the market cap of bitcoin we can clearly say that it will be infinite in which it will really last forever. Many people are advertising and promoting bitcoin so because of that the marketing of bitcoin is growing huge.

I believe that the price will continue to go up forever until there is no more bitcoin. People are forgetting that innovation is very important in the world of humanity and I believe that there will be something much better than blockchain one day, it is not going to be today and right now but it is going to happen one day. That means that we are going to end up with something much better in the future but that could take maybe few decades and that means bitcoin will go up constantly during that time.

So, the price could continue to go up forever but it could also crash and be nearly nothing in the future when something much better comes up and that is not about bitcoin, bitcoin could continue to be whatever it is and it all depends on what happens with other stuff. If a new thing comes up then bitcoin goes down, if not then bitcoin keeps going up.

I'm not sure what exactly do you mean by 'infinite'. But, if you are talking about bitcoin existing, trading, and being profitable for infinite time, I can say nothing lasts forever. In, my own idea bitcoin will need many adoptions in the near future to stay famous for more years between investors and traders. So, if it's going be stay for hundreds of years it needs adoption. But if you mean having infinite supply I would say no bitcoin can not be infinite in this case and that limited supply one reason for the bitcoin popularity.

Bitcoin may be a good asset these days but it won't last for a lifetime. Even being a currency bitcoin will never end up being infinite because of the fact that there are still a lot of digital currencies along the way that will gain more interest from the people and are even more user friendly when it comes to its utility case. So i don't think bitcoin will be forever.

For now, its best to enjoy what we have at the moment and seize every opportunity given by crypto. Bitcoin will definitely be replaced by another potential currency in the years to follow so enjoy it while it is getting more demand from its users and investors.

Well, to be honest, I don't know if that will happen because in the first place bitcoin has a fixed amount that currently circulating. Bitcoin protocol can not be changed because it was developed as a decentralized even though it is open-source code but no one can change the code. If there is, that is not a bitcoin because there are too many affected if that will change, like the miners. Bitcoin can not grow always and it is impossible to have unlimited stocks and you can not see always have a green color because it is volatile.

The risk of bitcoin becoming infinite does exist, just like fiat. That is what I understood from the possibility of splitting the decimal houses beyond the 8 digits we currently. So it's a way to make the currency infinite not by literally increasing its amount, but by splitting it into several minor parts. Today 100,000,000 satoshis are equal to 1 bitcoin, but tomorrow it can be 1,000,000,000 satoshis equal to 1 bitcoin or even more satoshis could be needed. Some people might say it's not the same than increasing the supply amount, but it really looks like it is and I think it would affect bitcoin very negatively.

Of course nothing lasts forever but if we are talking about technically, bitcoin operating could might as well be infinite. If we can continuously subdivide bitcoin, I think that we can say that it's infinite right?

Wait , Wait !! Unlimited ? meaning there will be more than 21 million bitcoin after the whole will be mined?

Meaning satoshi will comes out and create more bitcoin so this will be unlimited ? then what would be the value then if happens?  back to Penny per bitcoin?

No Not because some of Simpsons speculation comes reality meaning everything they say about bitcoin will come true.

Bitcoin might reach its peak during our lifetime and will be dead eventually. We all know that supply is limited, so it's not infinite at all.
Let's consider the influence that this technology could provide in developing a new innovative product. The name might stay known longer than its operation.

If you're asking if Bitcoin would be limitless when it comes to usage and development, I would say yes but if you're about unlimited supply, it will surely be no. As for me, Bitcoin still has a lot to show us in the future. It will still could grow and foster as a currency since lots of people are adopting it as a currency. It will only take time and more adoptions for that to happen.

We surely do not exactly know into what extent can Bitcoin last when it comes to the time it will exist from now until the next upcoming years since there will be lots of factors that can affect the situation it would be taking in the near future so we can or cannot expect for it to last for a very long period of time. But when it comes to the total circulating supply to be infinite, then it not because it is just limited and we are already aware of the matter since we have already known to expect halvings to take place in a specified time. The possibilities of its usage to last longer will still be dependent on the current situations and can be affected by other contributing factors.

I think I remember watching that episode and I think that was a reference to its price, technically the value of bitcoin cannot be infinite, after all even if bitcoin became the only currency in existence its value will be limited to the whole resources that we can extract from the planet and the technology we develop out of them, however since we are talking about a show that is a supposed to be funny it is obvious this was put there by the writers to signify that the value of bitcoin will do nothing but to go up, something that most people in the forum already knew.

I believe that, “infinite” in terms of value, scarcity will make it possible for BTC to reach $1 million in the future.  halving cycle, increased mining difficulty, multi-liquid growth of institutional investors.  The current economy has been diagnosed and dissected a lot after the covid pandemic emerged.  Decentralization will continue to grow in the near future.  Forget CBDC, it doesn't reduce the value of bitcoin.  It is important that the bitcoin price is retroactive!

According to my understanding, this infinite means that the price is infinite. After all, the total supply is already known, and there can be no endless things on the earth. I think Bitcoin will not die as long as someone is there. Although Simpson's prediction is valid, don't worry too much about other plots.

The good thing about bitcoin is that if satoshi comes back now and says that bitcoin should be 50 million, then we can still say no. That is how decentralization works, he left because he didn't want to influence the growth of bitcoin because he knew that his existence would have hurt bitcoin more than it would help and that is why he created it, put it on the right track and then when he saw that it was gaining momentum and price he left.

However he would have absolutely no other power than just influence, or maybe he could have manipulated people, look at how Vitalik says eth 2.0 is better and we all agree, maybe Satoshi would had that power as well. However aside from those, he has no technical power over bitcoin, he couldn't just suddenly made it into something that would be 50 million instead of 21 million, he can't change the code of it by himself.

If something has infinite value, it means it just never gets traded, because there's nothing to match its value. If 1 BTC costs infinite amount of dollars, then so does 1 satoshi, because that's definition of infinity. Infinitely valued Bitcoin can't be used as a currency, can't be used for anything at all. If all BTC in existence was held by a single party and they refused to sell for any price, you could say that Bitcoin is valued infinitely, but it's impossible to concentrate all up to 21 million bitcoins x 100 million satoshis.

Title: Re: Will Bitcoin be infinite?

it's not limited, it's broad in scope, you have to specify it first because I can't catch what you mean.
and if you mean supply I don't think so because we all know that bitcoin supply is limited and right now there are only 21 million bitcoins in existence and only 18,239,300 btc in circulation and this shows that bitcoin supply has a limited supply .
but if you mention the price I can say it depends on time and only time can answer it all maybe yes and maybe no because time and enthusiasts are the reference here.
talking about simpson with his future predictions, some of which have been proven, indeed this prediction could be true and it's just a matter of time to prove it but don't use it as a belief that this will happen because again this is just a cartoon and not a fortune teller despite everything that has happened

I've heard and also seen the episode you mean but I mean something else for me that episode doesn't mean bitcoin is infinity but just a symbol of increase because if you say infinity I hesitate to say it because if something is considered infinity it's impossible to trade.
but if you say it's a source of upswing in the future this would be in sync and I'm thinking in that direction.
because I think bitcoin in the future will continue to soar but that doesn't mean it's unlimited, of course there will always be a limit to it. especially regarding supply because we already know that bitcoin supply is limited

As halving occurs, it is believe that the last block of bitcoin could be unlikely mined in the year 2140. No one knows what exactly could happen by then and some even predicts that the protocol could even allow it to have a larger supply for everyone. No one knows exactly what could happen unless satoshi do something about it.

I dont take the threat title as infinite literally but the OP meant are we talking very long term for BTC.   Will the schedule laid out for reducing block rewards to zero actually be fully played out, that would be a very long time line not exactly infinite but its possible that yes that does occur.
BTC being traded for many years is quite feasible, the larger question is at what price and vs what competition and parallel development.   I've always assumed development on any blockchain is some positive so long as its open source and decentralized, some elements are mislabeled as crypto when they aren't just digital and proprietary.

if what is meant by an unlimited population of Bitcoin users in the future might happen, but for the availability of the existing supply it must have been predetermined, that is precisely what makes Bitcoin more valuable.

I believe that there is no such thing as infinity. Everything gets old and boring sooner or later. It will be the same with bitcoin. It will be replaced by something new. And that's the way it's going to go. This is what you could call a never-ending chain.
That's a given and valid thought but we're not yet there soon. It's known that there will be better technology that will come out soon but as much as possible, that technology would be taken mostly from blockchain and that started with bitcoin. I agree that it's a cycle that doesn't have an ending as one retires, there will be another one for its succession. But to see that time that bitcoin might be replaced by a better one, we don't see it yet coming and I think that it's going to count so many years before it happens or we won't be able to witness that because the possibility when that time comes, we're probably no longer here.

Bitcoin has the characteristic of scarcity, and its total amount is 21 million. The number of bitcoins is limited.
The value growth potential of Bitcoin is unlimited. Bitcoin has existed for 12 years and has brought huge profits to investors. Many new users see its benefits, starting to choose to invest in Bitcoin, people's consensus and recognition for it are increasing, and the demand is also increasing. And because of the scarcity of Bitcoin, the supply and demand relationship increases the value of Bitcoin infinitely.

I lost count of how many episodes there are but when a show has more than 30 seasons and 500 episodes then some predictions are bound to be true, it is similar to what we see in the this market, we have millions of users and many of them are making several predictions all year long, some of those predictions are bound to be right just by chance, it does not really mean anything unless they had a system to produce predictions like that all the time, and the same is true here.

The reason why bitcoin is different to fiat and to many other cryptocurrencies, is that it has a limited supply that can be mined, and once that is done there is no more creating bitcoin, but as this supply is getting more and more low mining it becomes more and more harder, so in away bitcoin could be infinite if mining the renaming supply gets longer every time, and this is all affects the price the less the supply the higher the value if bitcoin gets.

As much as we have seen many of The Simpsons predictions come true several times, I do believe that many of their predictions are still very much open to debate.
If by unlimited, you mean the price of bitcoin, then yes. The price of bitcoin can go as high as possible in the future as long as people still use bitcoin. If however, you meant the supply, then no. The amount of bitcoin that can ever be is limited to 21 million and that's all we can ever get. Not a single after this.

I doubt it, because nothing lasts forever. Ultimately, at some point, computing power can reach such a high level that Bitcoin can simply be hacked, but when it will be unknown.
Perhaps by that time we will already have a "different" bitcoin or no cryptocurrencies at all.

Bitcoin will be in a position where only whales can buy it in future. Its value is going to be huge. I would be considered as a asset and many would tend to buy as much as possible they could like that of gold and lands. Its growth would be spectacle as more investors would fall into it. BTC always holds highest trading volume in every exchanges. Adoption is increasing and this is the sign of its huge growth.

But if there is such a computing power that can be used to attack bitcoin why the miners cannot use the same technology to protect the network with such computing power?

Now if what you mean are quantum computers then that is another matter entirely but even then we know that there are already algorithms that are resistant to quantum computers so the only thing the developers will have to do is to decide which one of those algorithms they want to employ, and if this has not been done already is because quantum computers are decades away so there is more urgent stuff we need to worry about.

I really comprehend op better, what op means unlimited is infinity, if bitcoin will keep on moving or accelerating to this extent, so  that means in this case everyone is entitle to portray or suggest he or her point of view via bitcoin, because from my perspective bitcoin will stay long before it can be manipulate, because before it will come in conclusion of when will it come to an end we have to look at the time frame bitcoin has been into existence, like now, bitcoin is up to twelve (12) years, so considering factor of it's long stays, that means the possibility for it to stay till infinity is there. That is from own perspective.

When it comes to supply I don’t think that’s something the developers would like to tamper with.

Although I do know that they can do it if they want to, but they won’t do it, they would rather leave it as it is, just as Satoshi wanted it. But that’s not to say that it is impossible, because there has been a time, years back, that something happened and caused the limit to be more than the twenty one million and the devs had to correct it.

So for me I don’t think that the supply will increase, being scarce is one of the advantages that Bitcoin has, it is part of what makes it more valuable. But there is no limit to how much the price can increase to, it will always continue to increase to accommodate the level of demand in the market.

Even someone with basic understanding of Bitcoin knows that. Do we need a separate thread to discuss it? I agree, If someone wants to post to ask or inquire something, it should be provided with clear and concise question.
However, he made a reply to clarify the main question about which infinite he was talking about.

~snip~
Yes, I am not referring to the total supply, because this is known and the maximum supply cap is set. I want to know its value, can it be infinite, thanks for the reply to make me understand now.

Well, to answer this. Nothing is infinite, nothing last forever in this world. Sure Bitcoin still has a long way as this technology is just starting to be globally adopted. But, most probably Bitcoin will be gone in the far future and everyone of us here is already dead.
If you're doubtful about the long term price of Bitcoin, then don't force yourself to invest, it'll just give you more stress especially during bearish market.

There is "sort" of a message per second type of thing, they are not allowed to send messages as quickly as we are, but that is not the issue, they should be able to start messaging as soon as they get here, BUT they should be also moderated. Let's be honest there are very few place in all of online world where moderators go check each thing and then decide to ban some people.

Usually there is a "report" section where if a noob is being a noob then you report them, and that is when they get banned or get their message deleted, I got 21 messages like that got deleted, and that is how it's done. Are they fast? Our moderators are not "that" fast, but it is fast enough, you can be sure that whatever you report will be either deleted or let go inside of 24 hours and that is good enough, in twitter it took me 1 week to get something deleted (it was literal death, should have been gone in minutes). So, I believe there is a good method in place, people just don't use it.

Of course technology will continue to change with better, faster and more sophisticated, bitcoin dependence on the internet hopefully can be answered in the future, in addition with network problems, of course, is a security problem because bitcoin theft cases are still common.
With every technological development, there will always be improvements in the process. so I think that in the future improvements and innovations will continue to develop, especially if the government directly intervenes which later on these problems will be fixed, especially with the development of today's technology world, of course bitcoin can make the answer for more profitable transactions

Maybe 20 years from now Bitcoin has a price that exceeds the current limit. But I think a little, will the next 20 years this world still exist? ???

There is NO infinite in this world because everything always change. The technology, the value, the supply and demand keep on changing as the time goes by. In terms of supply, bitcoin is already has a limited supply. In terms of demand, bitcoin adoption keep on increasing that also increase the demand but I don't know how long the demand for bitcoin will remain. In terms of technology, in the future people will create another advance and new technology and I don't know if it is still good for bitcoin.  Nobody knows the future of bitcoin but I'm sure that bitcoin will not be infinite as what you think.

I think that everything depends on the consensus of most people. Bitcoin has been widely demanded by people, and I don’t think it will die. There is still a lot of room for growth in the value of Bitcoin. Due to some influences, it may drop and approach the stable range. However, there is still considerable room for the price of Bitcoin to rise in the future. I think this kind of unknown number can be understood as having no upper limit.

This is just an animation. He did predict something, but that doesn't mean it will happen. We can indeed talk based on the animation. Bitcoin is in a green rising state, but there is also a red falling state. It may be negatively affected for a period of time and lead to a decline, so I believe that the value cannot be unlimited and cannot rise endlessly.

Bitcoin's lifetime and value are unlimited. More regions and countries accept Bitcoin, and some countries use it as legal tender. Bitcoin is recognized and traded by more and more people. People's demand for it will increase, and its value will also increase. It will also be a lot of room and potential for appreciation.
As we all know, Bitcoin is scarce with a total of 21 million, which is limited in number.

Bitcoin will be infinite in the sense that nobody can correctly determine the price of bitcoin in the next five years, just look at what happens last year to the first quarter who could have thought of the rise and with the fall nobody can correctly says when it's going to take place and for how long and for how much.

The Simpsons, in an episode of the 32nd season, data on the virtual market shows that the development of Bitcoin is a symbol of infinity. For us, green means rising.
Do you think Bitcoin will be unlimited in the future?
How i wish that Simpsons this time will make it real once again , because since then Simpson shows are very positive in this market and yeah most of the prediction comes reality after years.
But if this will going to happen then I will be gladly keep my coins forever and will passes to my generation after generation.

That at some point is a way of Whales manipulating the market or reality that the crypto market react in Covid and then recover after a month.
