If it was a random person I just met on the internet, I wouldn't call it a friend.
By the way who gave you bitcoin? To identify a scammer, simply try to withdraw your balance to an external wallet. If this platform asks for a different amount of balance for transfer, administration fees and whatever, you should stop there.

I won't bother experimenting further with this site, just skimming the homepage, I can confirm that this site is 100% scam.

Let me go a step further, after "he" "deposited" bitcoin in your account, you are trying to withdraw it? And when you are doing that they are asking for a teeny-weeny "fee" because they need it to unlock or something of that sort of terms?

I checked the site and there is no description as to how they make money. If they are having a lending pool, it should be listed on other aggregator sites too. If they are staking then there should be info about the pool too. None of that is present here.

They dont show their team, owners or any contact information. All these signs point to a scam site, unfortunately.

This "stranger" who texted you on, let me guess, Telegram? - I am pretty sure that person is a part of the scammers running the site. So dont bother texting them back and block them.

It's scam. If they ask you to deposit any money, don't.

The site is similar to cryptohikes.com, which also seems to be a scam too. Both sites' contents are copied from CEX.io

Here, they say that they were established in 2014, but domain is just 90 days old as already pointed out

Edit:

More similar scam sites listed here;
Don't send them anything. You are being scammed.

In case you still don't believe me, the entirety of the text on the front page of their website is plagiarized from this exchange: https://cex.io/
Here is a list of sites which are completely identical to the one you are using, all trying to pull off the exact same scam:

https://www.haxbit.com/
https://www.bitprotrade.com/
https://trader-bull.com/

Haven't heard about this Bitumaster so I have no way of knowing the legitimacy of this website but if what @Bitcoin_Arena says is true and Bitumaster does ask for a deposit fee of some sort, there's a likely chance that it's a scam and if so, you need to tell your friend that it is a scam.

yes, a person named "Sanani" from Telegram told me that he is from Nepal and could not withdraw his money from bitumaster.com. He asked me for help. Then he asked me to register on this site and I believed because I could just read your article, then sent 0.55 BTC to this account. When I tried to withdraw this money, the site asked me to deposit 0.013  BTC to activate my account and I deposited it. Then he sent a message saying that we cannot approve you since this deposit is 0.0132023 BTC. They told me to deposit exactly 0.013  BTC, otherwise your account will not be approved and you will not be able to withdraw any money
0.56 BTCappears on the account. Of course, this is a scam.

-snip
evidence for these kinds of things is always needed to know whether the story is real or not. that being said, what!!?? who in their right mind would deposit on any website that they don't know anything about or just because someone told you about it.

also, I know that it is a scam(extremely obvious) but this is one of the stupidest reasons why someone can't activate an account.

The process that the person who introduced you to Bitumaster is too good to be true so I don't think that it's going to be a good thing following up with that because you never know what's going to happen next and it's better to avoid this altogether because the alternative is just depressing and frustrating for you.
