Title: Things to remember when joining bounty campaign.
Post by: rosenbauer02 on July 11, 2021, 02:07:11 PM
Bounty hunting that pays BTC or establish crypto that could be traded to cash is good. But only few are qualified to do it so this is why there are plenty of bounty hunters joining bounties that pays token in which it could be traded to btc or establish crypto that could be also traded to cash. That only happen when the project is successful and team are really paying bounties in which most likely are not or gonna run away or often told that project were not successful.

This is why there are things I need to brought up for the newbies in bounty hunting.

First, select a project in which you think it will be successful. Most likely good bounty managers will likely to pick good projects in order to protect from being trustworthy in the forum. Usually they will not promote scam project or will hold if there are irregularities found. This is why I like to work with the known or good bounty managers.

Second, read the rules and regulations set by the campaign or by the bounty manager. Always pay attention on the rules that might remove you from the bounty. Do

Third, do not forget to always remember the forum rules. Getting permanent ban from plagiarism were most likely the reason why more members are showing up in meta section asking or requesting to lift the ban. However, getting ban lifted has only low chances that it will going to happen.

Fourth, any form of cheating will be likely to be punish. There are many members here that were after for the cheaters so do not attempt to cheat.

Fifth, Make sure that all posts are quality or not just any compliance. Make it worth to read in line with the topic whether you use any sense of humor or serious discussion. Be professional to write your opinions that will not going to hurt the feelings of others though there are times that you need to be rude especially when things does not goes right and you wanted to correct someone or apprehend their wrong doings especially when it comes to fraud.

Being bounty hunter is not really bad at all unless you violate forum rules and norms of this forum. Do not expext too much about bountynl hunting that pays token because most likely the project will going to fail due to thousands of project created every month and only few are real investors.

Still learning about cryptocurrency would be the priority and if lucky enough to earn then that would be the reward. Always remember that knowledge is power and the only thing that could not be stolen from you.

Best regards,

The first, second, third, fourth, fifth poster.

Fifth, Make sure that all posts are quality
This is what all members of this from should have in mind and abide to but I am always kind of surprised that many bounty hunters are having low quality posts, even the right words for that is shit post, only members in signature campaigns are posting most of the quality posts.

Aside from the things you've mentioned, you should also pay attention to the team of the bounty campaign you will be joining in. If it is someone unfamiliar and you can sense they are not legitimate, make sure to stop yourself from selling right away. Also, you should make sure to read the white paper of the campaign carefully, see if it looks worth your trust as well as beneficial in some ways. Make sure that the service you will be providing will be worth the money they will be paying you which means it should all be quality posts that meets the requirements of the campaign.

Perhaps a distinction should be made to better contextualize the type of bounty hunting we’re talking about here. I’d clearly distinguish between signature bearing and spamming the social media (twitter, facebook, and such), albeit there being other tasks that are sometimes included under the bounty hunting term, such as translations and articles writing.

I personally would not enclose signature bearing under the term bounty hunting, although technically, if the bounty is the reward, be it bitcoin or an altcoin/token, I guess you could embrace the term. Nevertheless, from a conceptual point of view, signature bearing is mostly a passive way of promotion on the forum, whilst social media tasks are essentially active deliberate means to publicize through explicit promotional content (tweet, retweets, promotional content posts, etc.). The capabilities, prospects, and focus of signature campaigns is seemingly different to that of a social media spammer, and perhaps, because of this personal perception, I tend to disassociate bounty hunting from signature bearing, and see it as a term that fully embraces the social media tasks.

I think what you said is true. But we have some members here who have come here just to make money. And many campaigns are going on every day. The members are supporting them without considering the good and the bad. Doing. This system to increase their reputation. We should understand the project well and then work. It seems that there can be a lot of benefits.

Not posting quality post will result in warning and may be removed if continue posting such posts then later on he/she most likely won't be accepted in bounty campaigns if he/she ever join paid signature campaigns. My guess is that those shit posters still do ssme things even if you advice them to post quality ones.

This is the most important takeaway from this thread for me and should be the fist thing a new member considers. If a user focuses on learning about Bitcoin and the forum, they would be able to gather enough information on how to navigate through the forum, post quality content, manage campaigns etc, as so many posts has been made on these topics.

You belong to old era of bounty hunters and remember that there new breed of bounty hunter in the forum so better aware and remind new or old bounty hunters to come up with a better bounty habit.
Old or new I guess everyone should have a good bounty habit and thats start with posting quality topics and have a decent response.

What I say today can be different from what I said in the past because I have more experience, my posting style changed, and more.

Here, I quote part of my advice in the past that I believe it is more relevant for low-ranked members.
  • Promotion with merit system and new rank requirements. It's possible. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121906.0)
  • It wrote it when I was ranked up from Full member to Sr. Member
  • Bitcointalk posting etiquette (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5184741.0) (improve your writing skills because it helps you to have better expression of your thoughts)
Let's check it out
(2) Spending most of your time to read and learn
Only start composing your posts when you have something extremely constructive to discussions, topics.
Reasons:
- You are noobs, newbies (lack of knowledge, and experience), so what you think are constructive most likely unconstructive in reality.
- When you actually have reasons to start composing your posts, after finishing it, please re-read again and again to check that your posts are good in grammar, vocabularies, and good enough to express most of your ideas. I wrote most of your ideas because sometimes it is difficult for non-native English speakers to write down and completely express ideas by words. It's a challenge for non-native English speakers, who don't have English as their mother tongue.

(4) Never mind of bounties, campaigns when you are noobs
Reasons:
- Campaigns are there, open then close, then others open and close, from time to time. You should never worry that you miss this chance, that chance, this campaign, that campaign, something like this.
It is the same as merits. Lots of users complain that merits are rare, I can not get merits due to it is rare. Nope, merits (more exactly, sMerits - sendable merits) are available, everywhere in the forum. There are so many merit sources, normal users, who have lots of sMerits readily to send out. They kept them partially due to quality posts are rare, not sMerits.
- Instead of paying too much attention, and time on hunting for bounties, especially bounties that have easy rules and joinable for low rank users; you should start learning, reading, and build up your accounts.
When you hit your finish lines, it's time for you to seriously think of joining bounties.

(6) Spend your time to improve your English, especially Reading and Writing skills
Reasons:
- If you can not read posts or topic in English well, can not get ideas of posts' / topics' authors, it means that you have nothing to do in the forum.
Remember that you have to get their ideas well enough to not misunderstand their core ideas.
- Next, after reading good enough to catch authors' ideas, it is time for you to express your own ideas in case you have something to ask for help, something to discuss, or something meaningful to help others. This is the time you need to have good enough Writing skill.
This is why I mentioned you should improve your English skills, step by step, from Reading to Writing. Of course, you can improve both skills simultaneously.
The forum is the place almost solely for discussions via Reading and Writing.
You can find available sources for English learning in the References at the end of this OP.

You don't need to teach me how to live. I do not see in my answer a word of rudeness, but the only irony.
Your post contains the banalest advice to people who are fond of bounty companies but believe me, this has been discussed thousands of times here. Why else? Are you rich in the experience?
Therefore, if you want to help people, explain to people that what was long ago in 2017 will not happen again. Today's bounty hunters have $30 in their wallets for 9 months. Do you understand this amount? Is their time worth the money?
The attitude towards people should be sincere, and not a reason to increase your own rank, creating such banal and superficial posts. And learn to accept criticism for your posting.

This is not encouragement but an awareness. Just the title itself stating about the things to remember in bounty hunting which means the current bounty system especially in the altcoins that are corrupted are included for the bounty hunter to remember.

It is better to shared a post like this by sharing and giving insights of what bounty hunting is all about today or the current situation in bounty hunting.

<snip>
I am not always right and will be able to commit mistakes so I just hope you had some patience.

lovemayfamilis was merely joking when he made the post.

The way your sentence was worded was not the appropriate way to respond. Yes, he has been on the forum for some time now but dismissing him as an "old era bounty hunter" is somewhat disrespectful. Bounty hunters, old or new alike share the same goal. Follow objectives on posting, get paid. There are no new updates at all. Plagiarism = Ban. Legit or scammy projects, DYOR (Do Your Own Research).

And just so you know, these kind of posts have been regurgitated/ recycled from time to time. If you were to make a search, they are dime a dozen.

I know your good intentions here, OP.
However many newbies are arriving here just to plainly earn money and just straight up join bounties. This forum is leaning more into bounty platform rather than most of the forums you know of where can everybody would just chill and discuss with other users because of the bounty hunting stuffs.

My apologies if that is how I felt about your post.

I’ve been doing bounty hunting since 2017. Of course, not all of the bounties can guarantee you results. There are various circumstances such as ANON team, nothing new about their concept, price dumpings (even if it’s listed on exchanges), etc. And there are some bounties in which they are announcing a pause or stop of their campaign in the middle of it due to some circumstances on the project like not agreeing with their deals, etc.

And I have to be honest with you guys. One of the things that I am really frustrated during the bounty campaign is that even though the bounty campaign was suppose to end at that date, they choose to end early and not accepting submissions without warning or letting us know in advance. And on top of that, the distribution process where it takes weeks, months or even up to a year or more. Some of them would even distribute it by parts every month for anti-dumping purposes (but it doesn’t work all the time).

Just like in trading and investing to cryptocurrencies, joining bounty programs are also risky in terms of spending time and effort without any guarantees of payment or any other expectations. Proper risk management is what we need to apply no matter if it’s airdrop, bounty, trading, investing, etc.

Of all that has been written so far about bounty campaigns, one book could certainly be written, but no matter what, most of those who deal with it end up with no benefit from it. Such campaigns are in at least 90% of cases designed to make a profit only for the owner and some people close to him, so although I understand that people want to earn something, it is in most cases a guaranteed waste of time.

Most people, unfortunately, follow the line of least resistance, and if they put in a little effort they could very easily achieve a higher rank and someplace in a respectable campaign that would pay them regularly in BTC. In addition, they would get the opportunity to learn something, and that should be the primary function of this forum.

The most important thing when joining such a campaign is to keep in mind at all times that you will most likely not be paid at all for what you did, or you will only get a fraction of what you were promised.

In addition to not getting paid, participants of such campaigns usually divulge personal information like email and social media profiles which could be linked to their forum identity, or worse case scenario gets to the darkweb and becomes a tool for target scams.
Anyone would be better off just posting regularly on the forum and sharpening their knowledge of the Bitcoin technology.

...

the conclusion for newbies is.. you can't cheat at all...

cheating like using multiple accounts, plagiarism is the work of greedy people, even I have seen many bounty hunters who were hit by the red trust because they were caught using multiple accounts in a scam campaign.

OP, This is a good initiative, I am not sure if the reason for this topic an attempt to collect some merit or you just want to help the new bounty hunters.

First, select a project in which you think it will be successful. Most likely good bounty managers will likely to pick good projects in order to protect from being trustworthy in the forum. Usually they will not promote scam project or will hold if there are irregularities found. This is why I like to work with the known or good bounty managers.

This is good advice, but you are not giving any specific guidelines, how to recognize a good project. Recognising good projects is often a problem for us older members as well, and I guess there is general confusion for newcomers. The trusted manager is a good start, but no matter how good and experienced they are, their names guarantee that the project will be successful.

Second

Third

Fourth

this all says the same thing, read the rule, or you can be punished, banned etc...
is it not better to explain in detail each rule and the possible consequences if they are violated. I guess it will be more helpful.
You almost did it in fifth part of your article, you explain about post quality

Seriously the advise is not really bad because there are lot's of scam bounties now when you might endup not getting paid sometimes or the coin you will be paid will not  have value which is very painful after working without getting reward. And as I newbie you should know that you are not allowed to copy people's comment punishment for plagiarism is ban try and post from your understanding or perspective.

That really right. It means nothing when we don't pay attention in some terms when joining any bounty campaign.

First, -snip-
I will prefer to choose bounty with exact payment (BTC, ETH, or USDT) from clear and reputable BM. But, if we choose other new altcoin project campaigns, yeah, it is also needed to analyze the whole project and also chosen from reputable BM with good experience and track records.

Second,, -snip-
This is very important, many participants ignore the rules and requirements so that they don't even get the rewards. And the, they keep complaining about this. Once more, rules and regulations may be also updated or changed by the team or BM, so that we need to check the updates on the thread, telegram groups, or even other channels.

Third-Fourth,, -snip-
Not only about plagiarism, but also multi-account/connected account

In addition to not getting paid, participants of such campaigns usually divulge personal information like email and social media profiles which could be linked to their forum identity, or worse case scenario gets to the darkweb and becomes a tool for target scams.

This is certainly another major disadvantage of participating in such campaigns, but with these people, the protection of privacy is at a very low level - not only do they have the high risk of not being paid, but they are very often deceived in various scams. The worst part of all this is that people waste a lot of time and then get frustrated with the end result - so they get the opinion that all cryptocurrencies are actually scams - which is one of the factors that act as a brake on the way to greater acceptance of Bitcoin.

One dissatisfied user can do great damage, just as one rotten apple can rot an entire basket.
