Title: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: Tamagotchikiller on July 15, 2021, 12:00:57 AM Update July 16, 2021, 08:49 AM
I received a refund from "whalemixer1" What happened (before July 16, before the refund): In short: I used the website whalemixer.com, filled in 3 Output adresses and the percentage for each adress for output, then I clicked on Start Mixing. Then it showed me the following (strongly censored): Quote This address valid until 2021-07-11 03:53:23 UTC Send the funds to mix to the QR Code / Address below bc1qa4u...-Censored BITCOIN BTC Minimum Amount : USD 25 in BTC Maximum Amount : 965.14 BTC You will receive your mixed coins between 5 minutes - 12 hours random delay to enhance mixing results privacy and to efficiently cut the timing trailing on the blockchain forensics Whale CODE Censored Whale PASS Censored KEEP THIS WHALE CODE AND PASS TO CHECK MIXING STATUS AT CHECK MIX PAGE You will receive your mixed coins at this address Adress 1 Censored - [ 44% ] Adress 2 Censored - [ 33% ] Adress 3 Censored - [ 23% ] Referance ID Censored Save your WhaleCode and WhalePass safely, this is important to check your mix status. This receiving address is valid for 24 hours then it auto expires to enhance privacy. By using our services, you agree to our Terms Of Use Policy Mixing process is done automatically once we receive the fund. You can manually delete the logs after mixing at status page. Logs will be automatically deleted after 24 hours after mixing You do not have to confirm the mix after you have transfer. It is done automatically If you like to check the status, go to "Check Mix" page and type your WhaleCode and WhalePass. Then I sent the coins to the given adress. There was no letter of guarantee that is standard for mixers from what my experience is. Thats why I just copy&pasted the given information (above) to a textfile on my computer. After that I closed the page and shutted down my computer, because as I know and as it was said in the text above mixing works fully automated. After nearly 12 hours as I checked my outputadresses and I saw that I didnt received my coins. Then I wanted to check the mixing status, typed in whale code and whale pass and it said that nothing was found. I went to the topic and saw that another user had the same problem: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5314083.msg57432375#msg57432375 But this user clearified that it was a bug and he received his coins (somehow he didn't say what kind of bug that was). I sent an email through the contact form that is given on the website with no response. I even wasn't able to sent PMs to the user "whalemixer1". In the topic "whalemixer1" posted that I manually deleted the logs. But that was the first time I read that this is even possible. I didn't deleted anything. Then "whalemixer1" said that I should write him an email with the exact amount I sent and also the transaction ID and after match he will refund to the adress where the coins came from. I wrote him the email with the information that he wanted. Then he responded in the thread and confirmed that the amount was claimed and that the amount matches. He said he will refund and then that he did refunded. But I didn't received any refund and I asked again through email to send me the transaction ID where I can see to which adress he refunded. He said that he wasn't able to respond to my email because my email adress doesn't support pgp. I created a protonmail adress and wrote him at first here a PM ("newbie cannot write/receive from newbie" disabled from both sides and after that I was able to write him a PM). On the website I wrote an email again with my freshly created proton email adress. No response until now. I wrote LoyceV an PM to confirm and check my problem. He answered this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5314083.msg57461525#msg57461525 The thing is that the amount and received coins were confirmed from "whalemixer1" so that he made the refund that I never received. I just want my coins back and keep away from this mixer in future. Also I want the transaction ID where the mentioned refund was made to. I hope you get your money back. and will be waiting for updates.
just curious, what mixers were you using before? I haven't used mixers before but the ones I've heard give their users a Letter of Guarantee. Title: Re: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: LoyceV on July 15, 2021, 12:29:28 PM Can you create a type 1 "Newbie warning" Flag against them? I will support such a Flag for these reasons:
Now, my conclusion is very simple: you're not selling fresh coins. Time for a reminder: WhaleMixer lies! Mixers shouldn't lie. Period. And responding in mumbo jumbo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5314083.msg56275057#msg56275057) only makes it more suspicious. It's demonstrated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5314083.msg56272319#msg56272319) they don't sell freshly mined coins, and yet they're still claiming it (http://whale5lzktydxdyf.onion/): Quote WhaleMixer dispenses freshly mined coins from the farm Our automated system accept coins into our system and we send new mixed coins from our mining rigs Also: https://loyce.club/other/whalemixer.png That adds up to $42 million, without a shred of evidence. Not a single satoshi was proven. I'm pretty sure this is an exit scam waiting for a whale to believe their BS. The problem is, there's no way to know which address is owned by WhaleMixer. WhaleMixer setup their site in such a way it's impossible to prove anything, and since they're a "classic" mixer (without chips and private keys), there is no valid reason not to provide a signed Letter of Guarantee. Unless they plan to cheat their users, of course. ~ I think it's time you create a Scam Accusation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) for a Flag. Unfortunately, there's no hard evidence for a type 3 Flag, but the fact that the mixer is setup to deny the user any evidence, should be enough to justify a Newbie warning Flag (type 1). Allow me to quote mocacinno's post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5314083.msg57452097#msg57452097). It sums up what's wrong with the site: Ok... So, in order to summarise the issues (once again), i dug into your site and made following screenshot of the services your provide. I take these services as a contract: mixing is based on trust. If I read a list like this on a mixer, i think there should be no wiggle room for discussion, the list is iron-clad. Even a single lie in a list like this should have grave consequences! You are a mixer, you should do, without any discussion, everything you promise on your main page... No smallprint, no hidden twisted phrases in your TOS that allow you to divert from your promises... A mixer should be upfront and completely honest about everything they claim. Also, and i keep repeating myself: no selfmade defenitions... Mixing isn't a new business, if you say things like "freshly mined" and "letter of guarantee", it should mean exactly the same on your site as it means on any other mixer out there. I've included a color code:
https://i.imgur.com/4vyuPrT.png Red: proven to be (partially) untrue
Yellow: unproven or unprovable
Green: (mostly) true
Next to this, there are other issues:
Proof of Payment: I will sent everything uncensored to a moderator who looks at this report I don't expect a Mod to get involved. Besides, there's no point: WhaleMixer made sure you can't have hard evidence. This post is my Reference link for the negative feedback I left whalemixer1 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3104681): Quote I'm pretty sure this user/website is an exit scam waiting for a rich enough victim. They lie, and make claims that can't be verified. I would not trust them with any money. See Reference link. Title: Re: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: whalemixer1 on July 16, 2021, 05:53:03 AM We have solved this issue , We have made a mistake in refunding back the wrong person as 2 person reported did not receive the funds
it was actually one person who didn't receive their funds possibly due to they manually deleted the logs. how ever we took the error as our mistake and we have refunded the right party and hope the other party refunds us. Its a very sad day for us as the funds were not small. we took damages but thats how life is sometimes . we really hope the party we accidentally refunded would credit us back :( the reason this also happen is we couldnt trace back the addresses because we permanently delete logs , we only can see what was received through our wallet but we cant track back any more info more than that. so we refunded the wrong person . now we have solved the issue and hope the person that files that scam accusation can confirm that this issue has been solved. Title: Re: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: Tamagotchikiller on July 16, 2021, 06:26:11 AM I can confirm that I received the full refund just around 10 minutes ago. Thank you.
But one or two things I have to say. The Letter of Guarantee on other mixers I was always able to download before the mixing and also on another mixer right after the mixing (and also before). I never saw before that one could delete logs manually. I think it is enough to just clear that logs will be deleted automated if the mixing progress was successfull. One more very important "Bug": If you type in the wallet adress on the mixing page with percentage and click on start mixing an new window/tab will open where you will see where to send the coins to (and where it will be send after the mixing and so on) and also WhalePass and WhaleCode. So far so good. But if you click on refresh on that page, the adress where to send the coins to and also whale pass and whale code will change. This shouldn't happen ever! Because if you don't realize that you will send the coins to an adress which doesn't stand in combination with the filled form right before clicking on "start mixing", the coins will get lost if you refresh and send, because the automated system won't know what to to with the received coins. Correct me if I'm wrong with that. Or if the page lags, has temporary server problems (on your side) or the internet connection (on one or the other side) is lost and you have no choice except to refresh the page to show up again then the data (mixer receiver adress, WhalePass, WhaleCode) will also change. I see this as a big problem. And also an option to download the letter of guarantee right after clicking on "Start Mixing" would save you alot of trouble. Again just to clearify things: I NEVER deleted any logs Title: Re: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: LoyceV on July 16, 2021, 07:08:46 AM I can confirm that I received the full refund just around 10 minutes ago. I'm curious: did you give them a new address for the refund? You sent me the address you paid to by PM, and the funds weren't returned to your original addresses. That's not what they said they would do: we will refund back to your address that you sent the funds from. Again just to clearify things: I NEVER deleted any logs We are sorry for the delay in refund, but glad all went well. for your question, even if you refresh the page , you will get a new address with new whale code and receiving address, but all the address will work for 24 hours then after it will auto delete , so no issue on that. The system will treat it as a new transaction and will process which ever address that receive the funds accordingly. The reason we don't issue guarantee letter to download is because we do not want any trace because that piece of evidence can be used against you even if you delete it. its recoverable if you do a hardisk deep scan . another reason is , i am a user of mixer as well in the past, i really avoid downloading anything to my computer, what if its a virus set up by the FBI ? i am so paranoid if i have to download a guarantee letter , i dont mind viewing it online but not downloading it . We had this in mind when executing whalemixer. The fact is that I checked how they work with Monero, this is the only mixer that can do it. More than two days have passed, I hope that the administrator of this service will come, but I doubt it Title: Re: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: LoyceV on July 23, 2021, 03:51:11 PM The fact is that I checked how they work with Monero, this is the only mixer that can do it. That's because there's need to mix Monero when used correctly.See: #2 - Monero Monero is not a magic black box which provides perfect anonymity! If you use eg. flyp.me to buy XMR and then quickly sell this XMR on flyp.me again, it is blatantly obvious to flyp.me what you've done (if they keep logs), both due to the amounts and the specific Monero inputs used. In order to get decent privacy, you have to do something like this: 1. Convert BTC to XMR (using your own Monero wallet, not a hosted wallet). 2. In two or more transactions of random amounts, move XMR from that wallet to a different wallet/account. 3. Optionally, you can repeat the above step with additional wallets/accounts for greater anonymity. 4. Preferably in two or more transactions of random amounts, convert the XMR in your last wallet in the chain to BTC. Ideally, all of the above should be performed over as long a period of time as you can tolerate. - Pros: Possibly the best anonymity, especially if you're able to stay within the XMR ecosystem to some extent - Cons: You should use Tor with Monero, but you have to set this up manually; it's all more difficult; you're exposed to exchange rate risk; transaction fees may be significant Title: Re: Scam Report WhaleMixer.com - Mixer That Dispense Freshly Mined Coins Post by: khaled0111 on July 23, 2021, 10:22:24 PM Please be careful not use this mixer my money not come, support is not responding whalemixer1 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3104681) haven't been active for more than 4 days (before you posted this). I hope they will resolve your issue as they did with op when they log in.In the meantime, I suggest you create your own scam accusation thread and provide enough evidences to support your claims. The reason we don't issue guarantee letter to download is because we do not want any trace... i really avoid downloading anything to my computer, what if its a virus.. This honestly doesn't make any sense. The letter of guarantee is nothing else but a signed message. It can be a .txt file. In any case, you have to provide it and let the customer decide whether he wants to download it or not. Go try lying else where. |
