As part of its decentralization pledge, ShapeShift plans to airdrop 340 million FOX tokens to over one million users who traded $1 or more of Ether (ETH) or any ERC-20 token through the platform prior to June 9, 2021. Both current and past users of ShapeShift are eligible to receive the airdrop. The breakdown of the FOX token distribution is as follows:

1-4 trades: 200 FOX
5-9 trades: 350 FOX
10-24 trades: 750 FOX
25-99 trades: 1,500 FOX
100+ trades: 8,500 FOX

Important note: All addresses have 90 days from today to claim their Airdropped FOX Tokens. After that, the amount claimable will decrease 10% from the original amount each day for 10 days, and any unclaimed tokens after that period will be returned to the ShapeShift DAO, further increasing the DAO treasury.

The amount of airdrop reward is so big, unfortunately i haven't traded there before. But does this will dump the price of the FOX because almost all of the exchange users will get many FOX. I hope they will hold this and not dump it, this is quite danger for FOX holder before the airdrop

I have used Shapeshift way back, like 3 years ago, 2018-2019 if I'm not mistaken. It was on my old laptop so I will try to check if I'm eligible for the FOX token airdrop, and thanks for this news.

I'm not going to be excited though, as I have said, it's been 3 years since I used it and trade with it. But I will give it a try, there's no harm.

@wajik-tempe - we can't really control who is going to dump it or not. That's just the nature of airdrops.

I have an account in ShapeShift as it is also being promoted in the CaptainBitcoin platform but I have not really done trading in the site so that means I will still be getting zero. I have a high respect of this exchange and I believe it should have been ranking good. I am glad to see that it seems to be leveling up its promotions so more and more people can come on board and do their crypto business in there but I do wish they become more pro-active by introducing new innovations to the marketplace.

I have never ever tried this exchange but for those who have used it before June 9th are now eligible for this airdrop. I do not expect this airdrop to be great because of the huge supply. Still, Congratulations to all who are now eligible to get FOX tokens. Looking at the way things are going on now days, It would be always beneficial to try a new DEX in the future as most of them are coming up with airdrops of their native tokens.

It's a pity that I haven't used ShapeShift during this time period, otherwise it would be a big airdrop.

it's reminiscent of the UniSwap airdrop. The rewards given are also quite large. and no one thought that anyone who traded on the exchange would get an airdrop.
congrats to whoever managed to get it. for those who are left behind, may not be lucky. Hopefully, there will be a better airdrop this year. because many airdrops have actually paid off.

Does it mean that it has ended right now?
or the program is still ongoing?

As far as I know, if we are registering on that platform and doing certain tasks, we will get some Foxs also.

But, I really want to know, whether:
Is that Fox token from that airdrop and bonuses really tradable and can be traded or sold?
I ever read at that time that those FOXs are only available to cut the fees.

I am lucky to get this one, I unfortunately missed airdrops from uniswap and 1inch and some other notable airdrops which I might not even know about, but for this shapeshift airdrop, I will just say am super lucky cus I traded on shapeshift some time in 2016 and since 2017, I've never visited the exchange again and the Ethereum wallet which I used for trading there, I've stopped using since 2017 as well.
This afternoon, I came across a thread on this forum announcing the airdrop, I had to rush and download coinomi wallet which is where I accessed shapeshift from, and have also abandoned it since 2017, luckily for me, the 24 word phrase which I backed up online was still there as I tried to find it, immediately, I imported my old wallet back and got my Ethereum address, checked it on shapeshift and viola, it was eligible for 350 FOX tokens, I had to look for a way to get the private keys to the wallet which I figured a way successfully and quickly, I imported the wallet to my trust wallet and from there, am able to claim the airdrop.

Airdrop for an eligible address already get snapshot, and yes you can still earn get some FOX by completing TASK. So far I know, you got 10 FOX for completing some tasks. After you claim the airdrop token, feels free to sell or hold the token there is not locked or anything.

Nice one, I tough a user who trades on UNISWAP got airdrop too ~XD but the reality is not. ;D

well as long as it's free and we get a pretty decent reward for me personally. maybe i have claimed some FOX. not much but enough to meet the needs of 1 month.

although we were asked to prepare a few bucks as they are on the Ethereum network which we all know is still big enough to make deliveries. we had to adjust delivery times to find relief when GWEI was low.

As long as it's compatible with profits, I can still cover it with the results I get.

Previously, many members complained that they did not get anything from working in airdrops, but there were also many good airdrops that they didn't know about because generally they participated in airdrops without analysis, congrats to those who got this airdrop even though I was unlucky.

It's like I've been reminded with this thread if I'm not mistaken I've made several trades on ShapeShift and if this is an airdrop that is shared and needs to be claimed then I need to check it out

The issue of ransom doesn't matter as long as it's in line with the results that are claimed, some are even higher after I saw it in several telegram groups

I was not able to login to my old Shapeshift account due to them forcing me to reset my password when I created a mobile wallet on their app. I was logged out of the app and can't get back in. I don't think it uses mnemonic phrase as a backup because I couldn't find this option and I don't remember writing one down when I created an account on the mobile app. I was still however able to claim over $1,200 by connecting my Metamask and Portis wallet to the airdrop page. I had 3 wallet addresses which were eligible to receive FOX. It was a real pain in the ass with fees and technical issues but I came away with a nice amount.

It's a good thing that I have traded on ShapeShift two years ago. I didn't expect that I would still be rewarded because of that. That's already used for an airdrop. I hope that other exchanges would also reward us unexpectedly especially those that we often use. If you have received yours, then you better claim it right away.

This is a good airdrop because it's coming from a good project like Shapeshift, I'm one of those unlucky who is not part of the airdrop, airdrop should be like this if it's going to be profitable like the one we had with Uniswap, majority of airdrops now are useless, huge supply, KYC needed and doing the task before receiving your shares, I seldom participated on these kinds of airdrops, waste of time and gas fees.

Yes, you are able to sell them. I would recommend swapping them through the Metamask wallet. I tried selling them for ETH on Shapeshift but I did not have enough gas to complete the trade. It is cheaper and simpler on Metamask. After I finished claiming the airdrops and swapping for ETH, I traded ETH for BTC on Sideshift.ai. It was a lot of hoops to jump through but in the end it was worth it.

I have known about shapeshit for quite sometime and  these guys have actually offered free fox for using there platform but what I don't understand is why the fox token isn't tradeable because if it did these guys would have being a big entity by now,I wonder were they missed it.

In the past, those FOX tokens can be earned by trading within Shapeshift, kinda like a reward or incentive to those who trade on their exchange.
Now, in their recent airdrop, you can actually purchase FOX tokens through Uniswap which would also mean you can sell them.
I should know, I just sold mine.  ;)

It's a shame really, I've lost access to two different ETH address that I used to trade on shapeshift years ago I'm thinking in 2016/2017, I would have made 500 or more FOX tokens by now 😭😭😭😭😭, ive learnt my lesson to always keep your private keys intact.

I remember that I was using shapeshift before, sometimes from 2016-2018, respectively, and also in some wallets like JAxx wallet? that shapeshift exchange was connected I was frequently using it to exchange my Dash and Ethereum Classic to Bitcoin, from my cloud mining contract in 2016 But I don't know if those trades are valid because it was done directly on Jaxx wallet. anyway, I will try to locate that old addy and those private keys. who knows if I
was eligible to receive that fox airdrop.
