Title: CoinDCX promoting bitcoin on National Television
Post by: pawanjain on July 20, 2021, 03:43:41 PM
I am not a fan of cricket but today as I was meeting my friend at his shop I watched cricket on Sony Six for a while since he is a fan of it.
Just when advertisement started I noticed that there was an ad by CoinDCX which was promoting bitcoin.
The ad said to buy bitcoin from CoinDCX. This is the first time I have seen bitcoin being promoted on Indian Television.
I think this is just the start and many companies will follow this suit to promote their coins on Television.

I also saw those ground adverts. I do not think it will be helpful for them as Indians still are very sceptical about cryptocurrency, you can blame the media for it. I also want to point out here that CoinDCX does not hold a good reputation with the Indian crypto community. There has been a lot of negative news about them on Reddit. They need such advertisements to gain new customers as they know a lot of Indians will watch the match and visit their website just to check what it is for.

Could you please point out to any recent allegations against CoinDCX just to get how they are doing in the current situation.
I searched about it on CoinDCX but I was unable to find any accusations against them.
May be they are paying other websites to post good reviews or something but we should find out the actual truth.
Only then we can conclude if their promotions are to be taken in a good way or a bad way.

There are many on reddit search just type "CoinDCX fraud" and you will find many issues with this exchange. Read this one -- https://www.reddit.com/r/india/comments/mtwtj2/total_fraud_by_coindcx_see_images_representing/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share, it was raised on r/india.

In 2019 they had send a mail to all registered users stating that they were sending special welcome gifts and wanted them to confirm their address with a address proof. Many had fallen into that trap and have accidentally completed KYC. I know this because a few of my friend had completed that process. No one till date have received any gifts. Stay away from CoinDCX is all I can recommend.

Not just CoinDCX, even Coinswitch Kuber is advertising in television and OTT platforms like hotstar and Zee5. My wife keep on watching movies on these two OTT platform and I have literally seen their advertisement multiple times. It's great that Indian exchanges are trying to make cryptos popular in India and gather as many customers possible. It is only increasing the number of crypto holders in India which may help us to get a favorable regulation.

The crypto bill was supposed to be discussed in the ongoing monsoon parliament session. But it seems that bill has not been included in the agenda. So we have got another breather!

Yes you are right, I remember seeing an ad from Coinswitch Kuber on TV. Speaking on the same matter even today I received an ad on my mobile phone today through truecaller.
This time again it was CoinDCX. I must say, the level of advertising from Indian crypto startups is increasing day by day.

True that. No wonder the bill was not presented in this session. My group of Indian crypto friends were discussing on the same thing and the bill might be presented in the next session.
