Title: What's going to happen to the weak cards? Post by: Bravehash on July 20, 2021, 06:13:42 PM Once ETH is out of the picture ( 100% on PoS ) few graphic cards like 1660 will suffer because they are actually very good for ETH mining only, unlike 3060 and those with HBM2 graphic cards which I believe are good for other algorithms

Title: Re: What's going to happen to the weak cards? Post by: anu1908 on July 21, 2021, 05:39:58 AM budget gamers might buy them because there are no other choices on the market with sufficient power and efficiency due to the bad supply, at least in one or two years. in addition to that, there's no guarantee that there will be new coins that can be mined with them.

It was my mistake, because the remaining video cards are now giving a good profit and they have successfully mined Ethereum before.Russians say: "don't run in front of the train" Title: Re: What's going to happen to the weak cards? Post by: Refrumatrix on July 22, 2021, 01:02:02 PM You can still use gtx1660 for mining ravencoin and ergo coin and it's even going to make more sense if the graphic cards become cheaper which will make it a better choice for raven coin and ergo

I don't think so. Ive been around for the 2014-15 and 2018-19 bear markets where mining was highly unprofitable and there was no deals to be had on eBay or Craigslist. The only deals you might see are dead GPUs or GPUs with bad fans, maybe sold for a slight discount. However gamers think that there is always a huge supply of old mining GPUs and they going around annoying the hell out of me on Craiglist and basically sending messages like "I know you mined with this Rx 470, i will give you $20 CASH, today!". And usually within a couple of weeks I Would sell that GPU to someone else for $100-$125. When it comes to unprofitable ASICs its different. There are $20 old Antminers out there. However cheap GPUS? I don't think so. Title: Re: What's going to happen to the weak cards? Post by: Looper_U on July 22, 2021, 03:21:54 PM You are wrong, take a look at whattomine website and use the calculator yourself, it shows that 1660 cards are profitable for mining firo coin after ETH and the reward is few cents different

Now think where 600$ and where is 100$ Title: Re: What's going to happen to the weak cards? And even with such a price, the payback period is 6-7 months, but very unclear prospects for mining in the future, if you have expensive electricity prices. And for the last 5 years, these have been the top-end video cards in terms of reliability and payback. Title: Re: What's going to happen to the weak cards? The 6gb dag will be here in 2023 and I think 🤔 eth may finally go Pos around Oct 2023. Title: Re: What's going to happen to the weak cards?
