To me, the reason I got involved to Cryptocurrencies / Crypto community is the blooming news and information on the media that raised my interests and curiosity to know more. As a normal man, I am interested with all the new things.... and love to learn what I don't know. including new technology, new gadgets... so what's yours?

May I ask which cryptocurrency you bought first?
I am because my friends told me that cryptocurrencies can be invested in the same way as stocks.

Later I discovered that cryptocurrencies are much more interesting than stocks.

I was lured by my Cousin , he is a IT student back then and he come to understand the technology behind this and explains to me completely .
But at first i Denied to listen until 2016 comes when the value really increasing So much and bad that i did not hold until 2017.

Mine was mainly my preference for open source or community based projects. I have been involved in lots of Sci and Tech communities, and once in a while I see Bitcoin mentioned but I don't remember taking time to understand what it really means until I paid for a service with Bitcoin, since then I began to be exposed to more Bitcoin/crypto contents and stuff.
To be honest, lots of the good things I thought will be difficult to achieve can be achieved in Crypto/Bitcoin space. I have thought about developing a virtual nation in cyber space back then before I knew Crypto/Bitcoin, just didn't want to centralized it or have full control over it. I wanted it to be based on good laws. It's actually one of the most important projects  I have been talking about ever since I got into crypto space.

Lurking in Internet trying to find something that can be profitable for long term basis because that time i had some funds that i got from a Outside Job and not part of my monthly income so my wife let me use it in everything i wanted.
so i decided to find for best for the cause.
and i find Litecoin first but eventually turn into bitcoin and that the history begins.

Because I am an ambitious person and I see that I can make a lot of money and be able to secure my future somewhat with crypto, plus I was deprived of things that I want to buy when I had no money so I work hard to try and make sure that the deprivation be satisfied.

When I was younger, I used to spend every hour of every day searching the internet for ways to make money. Money brings security, and security brings peace. I found Bitcoin early but never figured it out. Recently I started really taking it seriously, and haven't looked back. If I can make the world a better place along the way, that is amazing, but what got me in was the search for financial security.

If you want me to be honest my reason for getting into crypto was money. I heard it could make me rich so I bought & kept buying. This was many years ago & I can say I’ve done very well with it.

The reason I entered cryptocurrencies is because of an invitation from my friend and also my great curiosity about cryptocurrencies...

cryptocurrency is a new thing but it has been reported all over the world, I am proud to be a person who is interested in cryptocurrency since 2017 because I have more experience. when cryptocurrencies are adopted en masse, those who were first in crypto will be proud to see that.

This only validates that whenever there's a bad news, there are people that are being moved by that news and as well as the opposite.

I guess we've got majority the same reason about the newest technology when we've met bitcoin for the first time. Next to it is about how we're going to increase our profits through it.

I'm here only for the burgers and beer!  :D

I am here in crypto because of the earning just like most of us,
 At first I was fascinated on how I could earn by it with just spending few hours and then I got really serious and focus on it.
I think most of us are here for the same thing no need to hide it we are all here in crypto to earn.

Few years back my friend had informed me about bitcoin in starting and after dong more research and knowing other crypto it started to attract me the way it functions, its uses, the way it can be transferred without any middlemen across globe etc just fascinated me and as well the rise and returns of bitcoin.

First I heard about crypto currencies was many years ago. I saw that online casinos accept them and it is faster and cheaper to use them to transfer funds. I got interested and wanted to know more. When I realised that they were independent from governments I got hooked. In my opinion crypto currencies are the future.

Obviously looking for Other income in internet , and also wanted to find investment aside from my banking funds.

and then i find this safe an profitable and lucky that my first attempt gives me 50% profit in just 5 months.

I was attracted here because of the profit, later I found out the beauty and the many innovations it's giving to the modern society, imagine sending thousand dollar worth of Cryptocurrency to the other side of the world, and sending it with 90% cheaper fee if you are going to use fiat, this is one of its beauty besides decentralization of the monetary system.

The reason is because of money, as @DeathAngel. But at that year, bitcoin was sold not too high as now. The price is below $1k, so I almost think to stop making money from bitcoin but I did not stop because I believe in what I did so I continue doing that. I am sure you know how pain is and how it feels when you do not have money to cover your bills.

I got in because I am fascinated by technology and I have always loved technology. I have a passion for everything smart so when I read the original bitcoin white paper I was completely hooked.
After that, my interest was piqued and I wanted to learn more about Bitcoin.

I'm not in cryptocurrencies yet, so to speak. But I have a Bitcoin and Etherium wallets. And I'm considering buying some as an investment. I like that there's an open-source project, so that there's all these possibilities to improve the system.

Currently, I am working on a project partly related to cryptocurrencies, but in my spare time, so it is progressing slowly. I plan to implement some blockchain concepts. I've spent a lot of time doing research and studying, and some of my opinions have changed a lot since I started.

you are already in crypto mate, but it just happened that you are not investing yet.

being in this forum alone and engaging in conversation inside proves that you are already in crypto world but yet not investor.

I heard about bitcoin a long time ago but didn't understand much about it. To make matters worse, I was in the midst of people that were pessimistic about it, (be careful of the company you keep  ;) they could build or destroy your dream). It took a discussion with a friend for me to understand it better and start the journey.

It's going everywhere when I first invest and joined this community there's already a lot of buzz about Cryptocurrency, there's so many articles, videos, and testimonials about it on the internet, it's hard to ignore something that is going to explode in the future, might as well join that early, that was my mindset when I got active about Cryptocurrency, there's always new here.

The reason is simple. First, the volatility is large, and if you are lucky, you can earn higher returns.
Secondly, I like different investment methods, and I am willing to try cryptocurrencies.

I got involved into crypto currencies because I feel like we can't trust banks anymore. The bank fees are rising each year but the interest rate remains at 0% for the last 10 years. It is impossible to save any money these days because price levels are rising and inflation will make sure that we are losing money over time. The only way to actually store some money is to invest it. And the best way is to do it outside of the reach of governments. Crypto currencies are the perfect tool for me to do it.

Most people that got into it after 2017, did so for the Lambo. Only the early adopters got into it for the technology. And lets face it, buying illegal stuff from the darknet also played an important part in adoption.
For me, it was a game called SatoshiMines, that a friend got me hooked on. Some of you guys might remember it. Got bored of losing, and started trading.

I agree that most people enter the crypto world in 2017, because they want to make big profits, because the increase in Bitcoin in 2017 was very
drastic and caused FOMO to occur. Therefore not long after the price of Bitcoin immediately fell drastically, because most people buy Bitcoin when
they don't understand how the crypto world works. Indeed, the reality is that there are very few reasons people enter the crypto world because
they want to learn the technology used by Bitcoin, most of them only think about the promising profit that can be generated from investing
in cryptocurrencies.

well at first it wasn't your  dream to invest in bitcoin mate so i don't see any reason why you were being destroyed  ;)

but it is better that you have discussion first before investing because if you did it from the beginning  then you might panicked when the market fall down hard.

i aswell want to learn something i have no idea about , thats why im trying out crypto now :D
