Title: What should I mine
Post by: HardCore12V on July 23, 2021, 06:37:22 AM
I just got my RTX cards yesterday and I'm happy about it so what should I mine?

1. 8x rtx3070
2. 2x rtx3090

I have Radeon Vega cards and I'm using the rig to mine Ergo since I'm certain ergo is more profitable on Radeon GPUs like Vega

Look for calculator at 24h period.

I'd use 3090 for Ethereum mining and 3070 for raven coin unless your 3070s are the first breed (non LHR) then ETH would be better, I'd like to warn you though, do not use your 3090 to play new world 😤😤 I bricked mine this way

With your kind of cards the best profitable coin at the moment is Ethereum as with that setup if your RTX 3070 is not LHR you would get about 700-710 Mhsh in total and with that much hash rate you can mine about 0.02-0.025 Ethereum daily depending on network difficulty.

If your RTX 3070 are indeed LHR that cannot do 60-62 Mhsh on Ethereum you should immediately switch them to Ravencoin as the next best thing to mine with Nvidia cards.

Only a special EVGA 3090 version can brick in the main menu of New World. It is a fault by EVGA and nothing more.

Just mine ETH as long as possible.

These days the most profitable coin to mine is pretty much ETH unless you got some old GPUs that don't have >4GB and then you need to mine alternatives like ETC. Gone are the 2014-2015 days where there are a dozen or more of coins which if you put in the work, you can make an extra 20% of daily profits.

Back then you would scan the ANN Section of bitcointalk and you would start to mine any new launched projects and then you were at an advantage because the difficulty was lower and when it finally hit an exchange, depending on the price, you could of made like 50-100% more profits than mining LTC/Doge directly.

These days those days are gone and you should just stick to ETH.

Test your GPUs on Ethereum Mining.
Ethereum will not be mined soon, so this is the most promising coin.
Take the hashrate and consumption values here

If your rtx3070 is not the LHR version, then you are very lucky.
The rtx3090 has no LHR versions.

So true , missing a little bit this days back then for sure where you just waited for some nice project to start mining !
As you have written best would be to just mine ETH and wait for that the price is going up again and take the profit out then.
Or you can just stake then the ETH when this will be full activated at some time.

Everyone keeps talking about ETH going full PoS by August but something tells me this ain't going to happen until mid 2022 but anyways I only care about making my ROI back no matter how long it takes so we have Ergo and Ravencoin

there are other reports claiming 3080, rx6900xt, rx6800xt and so on also has the same problem. i'd rather be cautious and not risk it. if i need to play that game then use other gpus. i see no point on playing a beta game though. so that's that.

regardless of how soon the switch will happen, collecting some ETH is still a good choice, especially if you can't participate in the staking because the roi will be too low for you imo.

I also want the POS algorithm to start working in mid-2022 or later, but there will be problems with the difficulty bomb.
In December, it will start working, and in 3 months the miners will feel its work, and more commissions will be burned.
Therefore, most likely the developers will not postpone this event for a long time.

The difficulty bomb will most likely get moved forward like it did multiple times in the past. I think there was 2 situations where the difficulty bomb was really having a bad effect on the network and blocktimes were like 30 seconds apart, no matter how many new miners joined the network.

Pretty sure the same situation will happen here. POS will get delayed again and after the difficulty bomb starts to take affect, they will have to issue a hard fork to make the block times back to 14 seconds.

No way would ETH function on 30 second blocks with how conjested it gets from time to time.

I came across a news this morning that the upcoming Ethereum upgrades might be postponed once again due to some issues in the system presently, ha this is what I was expecting anyways moreover it's same Ethereum team we are talking about, here is the link to the news

Problem for those who have already get rid of their GPUs just to avoid making lesser rewards mining Ethereum, to me I still feel like Ethereum can't do so good without his miners so what I expected the team to do is let PoW algorithm stay with PoS algorithm, this is 💯 possible
