Title: Help me find my BTC and I give you half
Post by: andriuseu on August 01, 2021, 03:32:37 PM
Hi, Help me find my BTC and I promisse I give you half.
In 2011 I mined 5 BTC, but the price was 1$ For 1BTC, so I didn't bother and left everything.

I found this memo on my old notepad named Bitcoin:

Email
   Xxxxx@xxxx
User ID
Xxxxxxx (for use with the website miner or wordpress plugin)
First Name xxx

Last Name xxxx

and thats it. I remember I use some kind of plugin on wordpress website and also on my personal pc. But I dont remember the name of the software. I tried nicehash but didnt work.

Oh come on.. I mean, the only thing this new user with a small amount of previous history got wrong was
that the block reward was 50 and not 5 in 2011.  Oh, and spelling errors.

I wonder what motivates these accounts? It's fishing for information, but what kind of information?
Is this a modern "nigerian prince" scheme?

Very many possible scenarios here while playing on the victim's greed
1. Social engineering
2. Possible sharing of Malware to the victim in attempt to recover the Bitcoins using some "tools"
3. Asking the victim to send the money in exchange for the 5 BTC they could recover etc

You won't believe how stupid greedy people can be.
