Title: [Question] Material for the third project
Post by: MrCryptHodl on August 07, 2021, 03:33:07 PM

Hi everyone ! Hop you'all are fine !  ;D

I write this post because i have a question for all of you, I need your opinion !

As you may have seen from my post for the book or on Twitter, my third project is called "1HoDLCLUB Bitcoin Casino", there are going to be a few different collectibles but one is poker chips, I'm looking for making it from a custom mold for Clay, but I want to know what the community wants and loves by the way!

So my question is simple: clay or metal poker chips? Vote in the pool and replay with your opinion  :)

The metal is for copper, golden brass and silver.

Thank you everyone to take the time to read my post and help !

For sure metal and I'll pre order 1 of each 😉 I've heard of clay chips cracking after long periods of time and my collectibles are for my great grandkids grandchildren so would hate for them to not be trusted to last lol

I prefer metal, plus I think it will be more durable in the long run.

Typically I would say metal, but given this will be a casino themed experience I'd vote clay.

Clay +1

I like the PhysiBit Poker Chip Collection 2016 (color and design, "Pop Art").

Could you clarify what you mean by clay poker chips? I have played poker in poker clubs a hundred times and have never seen clay chips. I understand what you are talking about collectible chips, but still the moment may come when they will be on the table at the game. [If you showed a photo example it would be wonderful]

Seeing as these would be "Collectibles" I would vote Clay!

As a collectible they wont necessarily get any use and being clay would make them
very different. Also if people do want to play them and they get damaged it makes
the unplayed ones rarer!

Yes it's that, btw if i get the budget to make both i'm gonna make both, but need custom mold for Clay , and it's expensive, like more more expensive thant mold for metal, But necessary if I want there to be things engraved on it, otherwise it's only custom graphics color on an existing model, if you can call it that  :)

I voted for metal.

  • I'm not a big collector [mainly because of my current location] like [unlike] most of the users that are active on this board, but if I were one, I would definitely opt for the one that comes with a premium look [in most cases, it's going to be the "metal" version].
    - From a collector's point of view, I'd prefer to acquire something that has a unique/rare look... In other words, I'm not going to achieve that by purchasing the clay version.

Update:
I understand your choice, metal is more like premium compared to Clay, and can have better finish btw !
Exactly :)

Small correction: I meant to say unlike.

I think doing Clay and metal does not sound interesting, it would be best to choose a single material and as far as you can see I think that most agree that they prefer metal
