Although proof is saying you are more or less right, I think thay guy didn’t have scamming intension, instead he did a mis quote as you know it’s fucking hard to use SMF for people from this century. Not many people are used to use SMF forum and they make some mistake. I think it’s wrong use of quoting.

You might be right but I think it is a good way to scam. If the user would be a legit user then there was no reason to quote a post and even the post which was posted a more than two years ago. It is a proper chance to be scammed.

Lets say it is a legit trader. But if it is a legit trade then why the user quote a post of a reputed user while the tread is mine. Also, there is no reason to edit the content on the quotation. The user could post it or just could replied of the post. And also, I think this user is not a new user of this forum. This user is a old user who has created this account to scam me.

I have noticed you have edited your post. But that doesn't matter either you have edited or not. But this not happened to the accused person who has tried to use a reputed member like an imposter. I cant imagine a valid way of the scammer.

You are right possibly. This can be a tricky scam attempt by impersonating that user as there's no valid reason to quote a post from 2019. Right now, I will not tag him. Let's see what other community member thinks and what step they take.

Better to be cautious than to end up getting scammed at the end of the day, it's not like it's going to hurt anyone if we are just aware that there's a possibility of a scam of some sort of funny business going on. Misquote can be a possibility but who knows who's not capitalizing on trying to make a minor mistake to make it look bad, we are on the Internet after all so better not to trust anyone.

I agreed with you except this quotation. Because on the internet we also trust a lot of people. Without trusting anyone on the internet we can't do online business or something like that over the internet. But we have to trust base on few standards. For example, we trust bitcointalk forum user base on the rank, reputation as well as earned merit.
